Glasses with the compositions xNa2O · 10MgO · (90 − x)SiO2, 10Na2O · xMgO · (90 − x)SiO2, 5Na2O · 15MgO · xAl2O3 · (80 − x)SiO2, xNa2O · 10MgO · 10Al2O3 · (80 − x)SiO2, 10Na2O · 10MgO · xAl2O3 · (80 − x)SiO2, 10Na2O · 5MgO · 10Al2O3 · (80 − x)SiO2 were melted and studied using UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy in the wavenumber range from 5000 to 30 000 cm−1. At [Al2O3] > [Na2O], the UV-cut off is strongly shifted to smaller wavenumbers and the NIR peak at around 10 000 cm−1 attributed to Fe2+ in sixfold coordination gets narrower. Furthermore, the intensity of the NIR peak at 5500 cm−1 increases. This is explained by the incorporation of iron in the respective glass structures.  相似文献

(30 − x/2)Li2O·(70 − x/2)B2O3·xAl2O3(x = 0, 5 and 10) composite gels have been fabricated by the sol-gel method. LiOCH3, B(OC4H9)3, and Al(OC4H9)3 were used as precursor for Li2O, B2O3, and Al2O3, respectively. B(OC4H9)3 and Al(OC4H9)3 were hydrolyzed separately and then mixed. The crystallization behavior and structure of the gels upon thermal treatment temperatures between 150 and 550 °C are characterized on the basis of SEM, XRD and IR analyses. Xerogel with x = 0 exhibits non-crystal features, whereas crystalline phases are found in the xerogels with x = 5 and 10. The crystalline phases are not found with increasing heat treatment temperatures from 150 to 450 °C, but crystalline phases appear present at 550 °C. The xerogel with x = 0, subject to thermal treatment below 450 °C, is found to be still amorphous, and a 550 °C heat treatment leads its structure changing from glassy to crystalline.  相似文献

Glasses with the basic compositions 10Na2O · 10CaO · xAl2O3 · (80 − x)SiO2 (x=0, 5, 15, 25) and 16Na2O · 10CaO · xAl2O3 · (74 − x)SiO2 (x=0, 5, 10, 15, 20) doped with 0.25-0.5 mol% SnO2 were studied using square-wave-voltammetry at temperatures in the range from 1000 to 1600 °C. The voltammograms exhibit a maximum which increases linearly with increasing temperature. With increasing alumina concentration and decreasing Na2O concentration the peak potentials get more negative. Mössbauer spectra showed two signals attributed to Sn2+ and Sn4+. Increasing alumina concentrations did not affect the isomer shift of Sn2+; however, they led to increasing quadrupole splitting, while in the case of Sn4+ both isomer shift and quadrupole splitting increased. A structural model is proposed which explains the effect of the composition on both the peak potentials and the Mössbauer parameters.  相似文献

Fourier transformation infrared spectra, density and DC electrical conductivity of 30Li2O · xCeO2⋅(70 − x)B2O3 glasses, where x ranged between 0 and 15 mol%, have been investigated. The results suggested that CeO2 plays the role of network modifier up to 7.5 mol%. At higher concentrations it plays a dual role; where most of ceria plays the role of network former. The density was observed to increase with increasing CeO2 content. The effect on density of the oxides in the glasses investigated is in the succession: B2O3 < Li2O < CeO2. Most of CeO2 content was found to be associated with B2O3 network to convert BO3 into B O4 units. The contribution of Li+ ions in the conduction process is much more than that due to small polarons. The conductivity of the glasses is mostly controlled by the Li+ ions concentration rather than the activation energy for CeO2 > 5 mol%. Lower than 5 mol% CeO2 the conductivity is controlled by both factors. The dependence of W on BO4 content supports the idea of ionic conduction in these glasses.  相似文献

Sodium tracer diffusion coefficients, DNa*, have been measured in sodium borosilicate glasses of the type (Na2O)0.2[(BO1.5)x(SiO2)1 − x]0.8 as a function of temperature and the composition parameter x. In these glasses, which can alternatively also be described by using the formula Na2O·(2B2O3)x·(4SiO2)1 − x, one network former unit, SiO2, is replaced by another one, BO1.5, while keeping the sodium concentration constant. At constant temperature, the tracer diffusion coefficient of sodium as a function of x has a shallow minimum at about x = 0.7. At temperatures below about 310 °C the temperature dependences of the measured tracer diffusion coefficients are of Arrhenius-type; at higher temperatures one observes an increase in the temperature dependence with increasing temperature. The activation energy derived from sodium tracer diffusion data for temperatures up to about 310 °C increases about linearly with increasing x from about 70 to 80 kJ/mol. The pre-exponential factor as a function of x varies by about one order of magnitude and has a minimum at about x = 0.4. Values derived for the Haven-ratio are smaller than one and show a shallow minimum as a function of x at around x = 0.75. Furthermore, it was investigated whether there is a significant, directly measurable uptake of water during annealing in moist atmospheres and whether water taken up from moist atmospheres can influence the diffusion of sodium.  相似文献

Bulk glasses of the system Ga20SbxS80−x (x = 5 and 40) were prepared for the first time by the known melt quenching technique. Non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) measurements of as-quenched Ga20SbxS80−x (x = 5 and 40) chalcogenide glasses reveal that the characteristic temperatures e.g. the glass transition temperature (Tg), the temperature corresponding to the maximum crystallization rate (Tp) recorded in the temperature range 400-650 K for x = 5 and 480-660 K for x = 40 are strongly dependent on heating rate and Sb content. Upon heating, these glasses show a single glass transition temperature (Tg) and double crystallization temperatures (Tp1 and Tp2) for x = 5 which overlapped and appear as a single crystallization peak (Tp) for x = 40. The activation energies of crystallization Ec were evaluated by three different methods. The crystallization data were examined in terms of recent analysis developed for non-isothermal conditions. The crystalline phases resulting from (DSC) have been identified using X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The glasses with the compositions of 21.25RE2O3-63.75MoO3-15B2O3 (RE: Sm, Gd, Dy) were prepared and the formation of β′-RE2(MoO4)3 ferroelectrics was confirmed in the crystallized glasses obtained through a conventional crystallization in an electric furnace. The features of the glass structure and crystallization behavior were clarified from measurements of Raman scattering spectra. Continuous-wave Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm (laser power: 0.6-0.9 W, laser scanning speed: S = 1-16 μm/s) was irradiated to 10.625Sm2O3-10.625Gd2O3 (or Dy2O3)-63.75MoO3-15B2O3 glasses, and the structural modification was induced at the glass surface. At the scanning speed of S = 10 μm/s, crystal lines consisting of β′-Gd2−xSmx(MoO4)3 or β′-Dy2−xSmx(MoO4)3 crystals were patterned on the glass surface. It was found that those crystal lines have the surface morphology with periodic bumps. At S = 1 μm/s, it was found that crystal lines consist of the mixture of paraelectric α-Gd2−xSmx(MoO4)3 and ferroelectric β′-Gd2−xSmx(MoO4)3 crystals, indicating the phase transformation from the β′ phase to the α phase during laser irradiation. Homogeneous crystal lines with β′-RE2(MoO4)3 ferroelectrics have not been written in this study, but further research is continuing.  相似文献

Room temperature electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra and temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements have been performed to investigate the effect of iron ions in 41CaO · (52 − x)SiO2 · 4P2O5 · xFe2O3 · 3Na2O (2 ? x ? 10 mol%) glasses. The ESR spectra of the glass exhibited the absorptions centered at g ≈ 2.1 and g ≈ 4.3. The variation of the intensity and linewidth of these absorption lines with composition has been interpreted in terms of variation in the concentration of the Fe2+ and Fe3+ in the glass and the interaction between the iron ions. The magnetic susceptibility data were used to obtain information on the relative concentration and interaction between the iron ions in the glass.  相似文献

Tracer diffusion coefficients of the radioactive isotope Na-22 were measured in glasses of the type (CaO·Al2O3)x(2 SiO2)1−x to study the diffusion of sodium as a function of glass composition, x, temperature and initial water content. The diffusion of Na-22 in glasses diffusion-annealed in dry air can always be well described by a single tracer diffusion coefficient, but sometimes not in samples annealed in common air. It was found that the sodium tracer diffusion coefficient decreases by about six orders of magnitude when the glass composition x changes from 0 to 0.75 at 800 °C. The temperature dependence of the diffusion of sodium seems to decrease as the silica content increases. Variations of the initial water content in some of the glasses investigated did not very significantly influence the rate of the tracer diffusion of sodium.  相似文献

The structure and elastic properties of a series of xNa2O · MgO · 4SiO2 glasses have been studied using both Raman and Brillouin spectroscopy. Relative to Na2O-SiO2 glasses, the maximum abundance for phyllosilicate structural units in the present glasses shows a lag of 0.5 units in the number of non-bridging oxygen per silicon atom (NBO/Si). This phenomenon has been attributed to the decrease in the average coordination number of modifying cations due to the presence of Mg2+. It has also been found that the decomposition of both metasilicate and disilicate (dimerized SiO4) anionic structural units in Na2O-SiO2 glasses are enhanced by the addition of MgO. However, the presence of Mg2+ does not cause a considerable effect on the decomposition of phyllosilicate structural unit. The acoustic data have revealed that both shear and Young’s moduli of the present glasses decrease with increasing NBO/Si (the variation in bulk modulus is reversed, however). The resistance to shear deformation for the anionic structural units in silicate glasses has been found to decrease in the following order: tectosilicate > phyllosilicate > metasilicate > disilicate > orthosilicate. The relative contribution of the various anionic structural units to the bulk modulus of a glass remains to be determined. The ideal mixing model using Makishima-Mackenzie’s relationship for predicting Young’s modulus is not applicable to the present glasses.  相似文献

The phase separation and crystallization behavior in the system (80 − X)SiO2 · X(Al2O3 + P2O5) · 5B2O3 · 15Na2O (mol%) glasses was investigated. Glasses with X = 20 and 30 phase separated into two phases, one of which is rich in Al2O3-P2O5-SiO2 and forms a continuous phase. Glasses containing a larger amount of Al2O3-P2O5 (X = 40 and 50) readily crystallize and precipitates tridymite type AlPO4 crystals. It is estimated that the phase separation occurs forming continuous Al2O3-P2O5-SiO2 phase at first, and then tridymite type AlPO4 crystals precipitate and grow in this phase. Highly transparent glass-ceramics comparable to glass can be successfully obtained by controlling heat treatment precisely. The crystal size and percent crystallinity of these transparent glass-ceramics are 20-30 nm and about 50%, respectively.  相似文献

The optical properties of Cr3+ ions in lithium metasilicate (Li2O · SiO2) transparent glass-ceramics were investigated. The main crystalline phase precipitated was the lithium metasilicate (Li2O · SiO2) crystal. The percent crystallinity and crystalline size were ranging 65-75% and 20-35 nm, respectively. The color changes drastically to deep pink from emerald green upon crystallization. New and strong absorption bands appeared and the absorption intensity increases by about 10 times that in glass. These new absorption bands are found to be derived from Cr3+ ions in octahedral sites in the lithium metasilicate crystal lattice. Cr3+ ions substitute for three Li+ ions and occupy the distorted octahedral site between single [SiO4]n chains of lithium metasilicate crystal. The ligand field parameters can be estimated: 10Dq = 13 088 cm−1, B = 453 cm−1, Dq/B = 2.89 and C = 2036 cm−1. The near-infrared luminescence centered at 1250 nm was not detected in the deep pink glass-ceramics unlike emerald green glass.  相似文献

The crystallization behavior of glass with the composition: 55.6 mol% SiO2, 22.8 mol% Al2O3, 17.7 mol% ZnO and 3.84 mol% of TiO2 as nucleating agent and with different particle sizes has been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and tranmission electron microscopy (TEM). In glass powders two crystalline phases: zinc-aluminosilicate s.s. with high-quartz structure, Znx/2AlxSi3−xO6, (x varies dependent on heat-treatment temperature) and gahnite are formed. The ratio of these phases depends on particle sizes. In bulk glass, however, gahnite is the sole crystalline phase. The composition of initially formed zinc-aluminosilicate s.s. was determined by Rietveld refinement of XRD patterns to be Zn0.69Al1.38Si1.62O6. With temperature increase, the amount of zinc-aluminosilicate s.s decreased with simultaneous reduce of zinc and aluminum incorporated in the structure. Eventually at 1423 K almost pure high-quartz structure was formed. The activation energies of zinc-aluminosilicate s.s. and gahnite crystallization were determined by non-isothermal method to be 510 ± 18 and 344 ± 17 kJ mol−1, respectively. The latter value matches well with those cited in literature for crystal growth of gahnite in similar glasses. That is attributed to the fact that the high-quartz structure acts as a precursor for gahnite crystallization.  相似文献

Refractory bulk metallic glasses and bulk metallic glass composites are formed in quaternary Ni-Nb-Ta-Sn alloy system. Alloys of composition Ni60(Nb100−xTax)34Sn6 (x = 20, 40, 60, 80) alloys were prepared by injection-casting the molten alloys into copper molds. Glassy alloys are formed in the thickness of half mm strips. With thicker strips (e.g., 1 mm), Nb2O5 and Ni3Sn phases and the amorphous phase form an in situ composite. Glass transition temperatures, crystallization temperatures, and ΔTx, defined as Tx1 − Tg (Tx1: first crystallization temperature, Tg: glass transition temperature) of the alloys increase dramatically with increasing Ta contents. These refractory bulk amorphous alloys exhibit high Young’s modulus (155-170 GPa), shear modulus (56-63 GPa), and estimated yield strength (3-3.6 GPa).  相似文献

Oxy-chalcogenide glasses with compositions of xGeO2-(100 − x)GeS2, where 0 ? x ? 100 mol%, have been prepared and studied in terms of their structures and optical properties. X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy shows that Ge:S ratio can deviate from GeS2 by ∼10 at.%, depending critically upon the preparation conditions. Raman scattering spectroscopy suggests that stoichiometric GeO2-GeS2 glasses have a heterogeneous structure in the scale of 1-100 nm. The optical gaps are nearly constant at 3.0-3.5 eV for glasses with 0 ? x ? 80 mol% and abruptly increase to ∼6 eV in GeO2. This dependence suggests that the optical gap is governed by GeS2 clusters, which are isolated and/or percolated. Composition-deviated glasses appear as orange and brown, and these glasses seem to have more inhomogeneous structures.  相似文献

Tungstate fluorophosphate glass compositions with high WO3 concentration were prepared in the ternary system (80−0.8x)NaPO3-(20−0.2x)BaF2-xWO3 with x = 40,50 and 60 mol%. Transparency decreases as WO3 concentration increases but can be improved by addition of oxidizing systems such as CeO2 or Sb2O3/NaNO3. Characterizations by thermal analysis (DSC) point out that an increase in the amount of WO3 results in a higher glass transition temperature. In addition, such compositions are very stable against devitrification since samples containing 40% and 50% of WO3 donot even exhibit the expected crystallization event. In these samples, the stability against crystallization decreases with the WO3 content and vitreous sample containing 60% of WO3 exhibits an endothermic event around 620 °C due to crystallization of monoclinic WO3 phase. In these glasses, it was shown that the nucleation stage can be induced by thermal-treatment when external nucleating agents such as Ti or Sb are used. Finally, gold-doped samples exhibit a higher crystallization tendency and monoclinic WO3 phase can be grown in such glasses.  相似文献

Microporous glass ceramics belonging to the CaO-TiO2-P2O5 system were prepared with the assumption of a 2:1 mole ratio for β-Ca3(PO4)2:CaTi4(PO4)6, the anticipated crystalline phases in the end product. The glasses formulated according to the above composition were melted and cast onto a steel mold and were crystallized to glass ceramics containing the above phases. Dilatometric/differential thermal analysis (DTA) techniques were utilized to determine the appropriate phase separation-nucleation and crystallization temperatures. The crystalline products and resulting microstructures in various stages of process were determined and observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). By leaching the resulting glass ceramics in HCl, β-Ca3(PO4)2 was dissolved out leaving a porous skeleton of CaTi4(PO4)6. It was found that the volume porosity, specific surface area and mean pore diameter of microporous glass ceramics can be managed through the proper selection of heat treatment conditions. In the optimized conditions for fabricating glass ceramics of minimum mean pore size the values of 41 ± 4%, 26 ± 3 m2/g and 14.3 ± 2 nm were obtained for porosity, surface area and pore diameter respectively.  相似文献

Electronegativity difference Δx, atomic size parameter δ and width of supercooled liquid region (ΔTx = Tx − Tg, where Tx is the onset crystallization temperature and Tg the glass transition temperature) are analysed for glasses of the ternary system Sb2S3-As2S3-Sb2Te3 as a function of arsenic atomic percentage.Correlation is investigated between the two bonds parameters (Δx and δ) and the width of supercooled liquid region ΔTx (which is generally reliable in estimating the stability against the crystallization of the glasses). It is found that this width of supercooled liquid region of the glasses in Sb2S3-As2S3-Sb2Te3 system depends on electronegativity difference and atomic size parameter.  相似文献

Lead chloroantimonite glasses form stable binary glasses that may accommodate numerous oxides or halides as a third component. Molybdenum trioxide is a glass progenitor leading to molybdate glasses. Ternary glasses have been synthesized and studied in the Sb2O3-PbCl2-MoO3 system. Compositional limits of glass formation are reported and two series of glass samples have been prepared corresponding to the general formulas: (90 − x)Sb2O3-xPbCl2-10MoO3 and (90 − x)Sb2O3-xMoO3-10PbCl2. Glass transition temperature is close to 290 °C at high Sb2O3 content and decreases as antimony oxide is substituted by MoO3 or PbCl2. Position, width and intensity of crystallization peak suggest that devitrification rate is small in some composition ranges. The evolution of density, thermal expansion, refractive index and microhardness has been studied as a function of composition parameter x. Deviations from linearity are observed. They suggest structural changes in the case of the MoO3/Sb2O3 substitution while it appears that molar volume increases linearly versus lead content in the other series of glasses. Refractive index is close to 2.04. Optical transmission ranges from 550 nm in the visible spectrum to 5.5 μm in the infrared. It is limited by extrinsic absorption bands arising from hydroxyls and silicon impurities. Young's, bulk and shear moduli have been measured for the two series of samples.  相似文献
