This paper presents an experimental characterization of the behavior of an analogous version of the Chua’s circuit. The electronic circuit signals are captured using a data acquisition board (DAQ) and processed using LabVIEW environment. The following aspects of the time series analysis are analyzed: time waveforms, phase portraits, frequency spectra, Poincaré sections, and bifurcation diagram. The circuit behavior is experimentally mapped with the parameter variations, where are identified equilibrium points, periodic and chaotic attractors, and bifurcations. These analysis techniques are performed in real-time and can be applied to characterize, with precision, several nonlinear systems.  相似文献

This paper investigates the dynamical behaviors for a four-dimensional energy resource system with time delay, especially in terms of equilibria analyses and Hopf bifurcation analysis. By setting the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, it is shown that Hopf bifurcation would occur when the time delay exceeds a sequence of critical values. Furthermore, the stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined via the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction theorem. Numerical examples are given in the end of the paper to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

研究时滞反馈控制对具有周期外激励非线性系统复杂性的影响机理,研究对应的线性平衡态失稳的临界边界,将时滞非线性控制方程化为泛函微分方程,给出由Hopf分岔产生的周期解的解析形式.通过分析周期解的稳定性得到周期解的失稳区域,使用数值分析观察到时滞在该区域可以导致系统出现倍周期运动、锁相运动、概周期运动和混沌运动以及两条通向混沌的道路:倍周期分岔和环面破裂.其结果表明,时滞在控制系统中可以作为控制和产生系统的复杂运动的控制“开关”.  相似文献

An on-engine method for dynamic characterisation of automotive NOx concentration sensors is presented. Steps in start of injection on a diesel engine are employed to achieve step-like NOx concentration variations on exhaust flow. On the basis of the sensor response, delay and dynamic response can be easily identified; the paper shows a simple least squares procedure although other models and identification techniques could be used. Application data is presented for three NOx sensors: a research-grade chemiluminescence exhaust gas analyser, and two different commercial ZrO2-based sensors.  相似文献

The maglev system with delayed position feedback control is excitated by the deflection of flexible guideway and resonant response may take place. This paper concerns the non-resonant response of the system by employing centre manifold reduction and method of multiple time scales. The dynamical model is presented and expanded to the third-order Taylor series. Taking time delay as its bifurcation parameter, the condition with which the Hopf bifurcation may occur is investigated. Centre manifold reduction is applied to get the Poincaré normal form of the nonlinear system so that we can study the relationship between periodic solution and system parameter. At first, the non-resonant periodic solution of the normal form is calculated based on the method of multiple time scales. Then the bifurcation condition of the free oscillation in the solution is analyzed, and we get the conditions with which the free oscillation has maximum and minimum values. The relationship between external excitation and the periodic solution is also discussed in this paper. Finally, numerical simulation results show how system and excitation parameters affect the system response. It is shown that the existence of the free oscillation and the amplitude of the forced oscillation can be determined by time delay and control parameters. So felicitously selecting them can suppress the oscillation effectively.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a non-smooth Filippov system that describes the interaction of the pest and natural enemy with considering time delay, which represents the change in the growth rate of natural enemies before it is released to prey on pests. When the number of the pest is below the threshold, no control is applied; otherwise, control measures will be adopted. We discuss the stability of the equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcation. The results show that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the time delay passes through some critical values. By applying the Filippov convex method, we obtain the dynamics of the sliding mode. The solutions of the system eventually tend toward the regular equilibrium, the pseudo-equilibrium or a standard periodic solution. Numerical simulations show that time delay plays an important role in local and global sliding bifurcations. We can obtain boundary focus bifurcations from boundary node bifurcations by varying time delay. Furthermore, touching, buckling and crossing bifurcations can be obtained frequently by increasing time delay. The results can provide some insights in pest control.

We study the appearance and stability of spatiotemporal periodic patterns like phase-locked oscillations, mirror-reflecting waves, standing waves, in-phase or antiphase oscillations, and coexistence of multiple patterns, in a ring of bidirectionally delay coupled oscillators. Hopf bifurcation, Hopf–Hopf bifurcation, and the equivariant Hopf bifurcation are studied in the viewpoint of normal forms obtained by using the method of multiple scales which is a kind of perturbation technique, thus a clear bifurcation scenario is depicted. We find time delay significantly affects the dynamics and induces rich spatiotemporal patterns. With the help of the unfolding system near Hopf–Hopf bifurcation, it is confirmed in some regions two kinds of stable oscillations may coexist. These phenomena are shown for the delay coupled limit cycle oscillators as well as for the delay coupled chaotic Hindmarsh–Rose neurons.  相似文献

In this paper, a hybrid control strategy using both state feedback and parameter perturbation is applied to control the Hopf bifurcation in a dual model of Internet congestion control system. By choosing communication delay as a bifurcation parameter, it is proved that when it passes through a critical value, a Hopf bifurcation occurs. However, by adjusting the control parameters of the hybrid control strategy, the Hopf bifurcation has been delayed without changing the original equilibrium point of the system. Theoretical analysis and numerical results show that this method can delay the onset of bifurcation effectively. Therefore, it can extend the stable range in parameter space and improve the performance of congestion control system.  相似文献

传统观念认为,负反馈容易使系统达到稳定平衡点而正反馈容易引起振荡.本研究基于神经元理论模型,提出了负反馈可以诱发稳定平衡点、也就是静息、变为振荡、也就是放电的新观点.在Hopf分岔点附近,作用在静息上的一次足够大的负向脉冲电流的抑制性刺激,能够引起一个动作电位及随后的衰减振荡的后电位;而能够在后电位上诱发出动作电位的负脉冲电流强度阈值也是衰减振荡的.在模型中,引入具有时滞($\tau$)的负反馈来模拟抑制性自突触,一个动作电位诱发的负反馈自突触电流会作用到比动作电位延迟$\tau$的后电位上.随时滞增加,能够诱发出放电的负反馈增益强度阈值呈现出具有衰减振荡特点的类似多重相干共振的特性,衰减振荡的周期与电流阈值曲线的周期以及分岔点附近的放电周期相关.另外,负反馈还能诱发出放电与静息共存的复杂行为.本研究的结果不仅揭示了负反馈的新的反常调控作用,还有助于理解在现实神经系统中存在的慢抑制性自突触的潜在功能.   相似文献

We consider a novel congestion control model, i.e., the exponential RED algorithm with a single link and single source. Using the gain parameter of the system instead of the delay as the bifurcation parameter, the linear stability and Hopf bifurcation are investigated, and the stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by employing the normal form method and the center manifold reduction. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper studies the local dynamics of an SDOF system with quadratic and cubic stiffness terms, and with linear delayed velocity feedback. The analysis indicates that for a sufficiently large velocity feedback gain, the equilibrium of the system may undergo a number of stability switches with an increase of time delay, and then becomes unstable forever. At each critical value of time delay for which the system changes its stability, a generic Hopf bifurcation occurs and a periodic motion emerges in a one-sided neighbourhood of the critical time delay. The method of Fredholm alternative is applied to determine the bifurcating periodic motions and their stability. It stresses on the effect of the system parameters on the stable regions and the amplitudes of the bifurcating periodic solutions. We study a well-known regenerative machine tool vibration model (a delay differential equation) near a codimension 2 Hopf bifurcation point. The method of multiple scales is used directly, bypassing a center manifold reduction. We use a nonstandard choice of expansion parameter that helps understand practically relevant aspects of the dynamics for not-too-small amplitudes. Analytical expressions are then obtained for the double Hopf points. Both sub- and supercritical bifurcations are predicted to occur near the reference point; and analytical conditions on the parameter variations for each type of bifurcation to occur are obtained as well. 由于多时间尺度问题在实际工程系统中广泛存在,关于其复杂动力学行为及其产生机制的研究已成为当前国内外的热点课题之一.簇发振荡是多时间尺度系统复杂动力学行为的典型代表,而分岔延迟又是簇发振荡中的常见现象.本文为探讨非线性系统中分岔延迟所引发的簇发振荡的分岔机制,在一个三维混沌系统中引入参数激励,当激励频率远小于系统的固有频率时,系统产生了两时间尺度簇发振荡.将整个激励项看做慢变参数,激励系统转化为广义自治系统也即快子系统,分析快子系统平衡点的稳定性以及分岔条件,并运用快慢分析法和转换相图揭示了簇发振荡的动力学机理.文中考察了4组参数条件下系统的动力学行为,研究发现当慢变激励项周期性地通过分岔点时,系统产生了明显的超临界叉形分岔延迟行为,随着参数激励振幅的增大,分岔延迟的时间也逐渐延长,当这种延迟的动态行为终止于不同的参数区域时,导致系统轨线围绕不同稳定吸引子(平衡点,极限环)运动,从而得到了不同的簇发振荡行为.   相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the stability and bifurcation of a class of coupled nonlinear relative rotation system with multi-time delay feedbacks. Using dissipative system Lagrange equation, the dynamics equation of coupled nonlinear relative rotation system with three masses is established. The dynamical behaviors of the system under multi-time delay feedbacks, with two state variables, are discussed. First, characteristic roots and the stable regions of time delay are determined by direct method. The relation between two time delays ratio or time delay feedbacks gains and the stable regions of time delay is analyzed. Second, the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation are decided by normal form theorem and center manifold argument. Finally, numerical simulation can confirm the validity of the conclusion.  相似文献

Wing flapping and morphing can be very beneficial to managing the weight of micro air vehicles through coupling the aerodynamic forces with stability and control. In this letter, harvesting energy from the wing morphing is studied to power cameras, sensors, or communication devices of micro air vehicles and to aid in the management of their power. The aerodynamic loads on flapping wings are simulated using a three-dimensional unsteady vortex lattice method. Active wing shape morphing is considered to enhance the performance of the flapping motion. A gradient-based optimization algorithm is used to pinpoint the optimal kinematics maximizing the propellent efficiency. To benefit from the wing deformation, we place piezoelectric layers near the wing roots. Gauss law is used to estimate the electrical harvested power. We demonstrate that enough power can be generated to operate a camera. Numerical analysis shows the feasibility of exploiting wing morphing to harvest energy and improving the design and performance of micro air vehicles.  相似文献

The regular and chaotic vibrations of a nonlinear structure subjected to self-, parametric, and external excitations acting simultaneously are analysed in this study. Moreover, a time delay input is added to the model to control the system response. The frequency-locking phenomenon and transition to quasi-periodic oscillations via Hopf bifurcation of the second kind (Neimark–Sacker bifurcation) are determined analytically by the multiple time scales method up to the second-order perturbation. Approximate solutions of the quasi-periodic motion are determined by a second application of the multiple time scales method for the slow flow, and then, slow–slow motion is obtained. The similarities and differences between the van der Pol and Rayleigh models are demonstrated for regular, periodic, and quasi-periodic oscillations, as well as for chaotic oscillations. The control of the structural response, and modifications of the resonance curves and bifurcation points by the time delay signal are presented for selected cases.

This paper describes a delay induced prey–predator system with stage structure for prey. The dynamical characteristics of the system are rigorously studied using mathematical tools. The coexistence equilibria of the system is determined and the dynamic behavior of the system is investigated around coexistence equilibria. Sufficient conditions are derived for the global stability of the system. The optimal harvesting problem is formulated and solved in order to achieve the sustainability of the system, keeping the ecological balance, and maximize the monetary social benefit. Maturation time delay of prey is incorporated and the existence of Hopf bifurcation phenomenon is examined at the coexistence equilibria. It is shown that the time delay can cause a stable equilibrium to become unstable and even a switching of stabilities. Moreover, we use normal form method and center manifold theorem to examine the nature of the Hopf bifurcation. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to verify the analytical results, and the system is analyzed through graphical illustrations.  相似文献

In this paper, we aim to investigate the dynamics of a system of Van der Pol–Duffing oscillators with delay coupling. First, taking the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, the stability of the equilibrium, and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are investigated. Then using the center manifold reduction technique and normal form theory, we give the direction of the Hopf bifurcation. And then by means of the symmetric bifurcation theory for delay differential equations and the representation theory of groups, we claim the bifurcation periodic solution induced by time delay is antiphase locked oscillation. Finally, at the end of the paper, numerical simulations are carried out to support our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

This paper undertakes an analysis of a double Hopf bifurcation of a maglev system with time-delayed feedback. At the intersection point of the Hopf bifurcation curves in velocity feedback control gain and time delay space, the maglev system has a codimension 2 double Hopf bifurcation. To gain insight into the periodic solution which arises from the double Hopf bifurcation and the unfolding, we calculate the normal form of double Hopf bifurcation using the method of multiple scales. Numerical simulations are carried out with two pairs of feedback control parameters, which show different unfoldings of the maglev system and we verify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献
