We extend the universal quantum invariant defined in [15] to an invariant of 3-manifolds with boundaries, and show that the invariant satisfies modified axioms of TQFT. Received: 22 August 1996 / Accepted: 17 January 1997  相似文献

We investiage Local Unitary Invariant Spin Squeezing (LUISS) in symmetric and non-symmetric multiqubit states. On developing an operational procedure to evaluate Local Unitary Invariant Spin Squeezing parameters, we explicitly evaluate these parameters for pure as well as mixed non-symmetric multiqubit states. We show that the existence of local unitary invariant version of Kitegawa-Ueda spin squeezing may not witness pairwise entanglement whereas the local unitary invariant analogue of Wineland spin squeezing necessarily implies pairwise entanglement.  相似文献

We note that every finite or infinite dimensional real-analytic Hamiltonian system with a quasi-periodic invariant KAM torus of finite dimension d≥ 2 can be perturbed in such a way that the new real-analytic Hamiltonian system has a weakly mixing invariant torus of the same dimension. We consider the relationship between the symmetry breaking and the split property of pure states of quantum spin chains. We obtain a representation theoretic condition implying that the half-sided uniform mixing condition leads to symmetry breaking of translationally invariant pure states. This is a mathematical generalization of Dichotomy previously found by I. Affleck and E. Lieb and M. Aizenman and B. Nachtergaele for ground states of a special class of Hamiltonians. The theoretical resource state for the implementation of the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm is a multiqubit pure uncorrelated state. We show that N-qubit pure uncorrelated quantum states cannot admit rotationally invariant nonlocal realistic theories with a violation factor of 3N. We find the violation factor 3Nwhen the measurement setup is entire range of settings for each of the observers, that is, considering rotationally invariant nonlocal realistic theories along with the property of a correlation function in the quantum theory. The implementation of the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm theoretically relying on N-qubit pure uncorrelated states rules out rotationally invariant nonlocal realism with a violation factor of 3Nin an ideal case. Our analysis relies on the property of theoretical resource states for the algorithm. We cannot simulate the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm by using rotationally invariant nonlocal realistic theories due to the property of theoretical resource states for the algorithm.  相似文献

The set of stationary measures of an infinite Hamiltonian system with noise is investigated. The model consists of particles moving in with bounded velocities and subject to a noise that does not violate the classical laws of conservation, see [OVY]. Following [LO] we assume that the noise has also a finite radius of interaction, and prove that translation invariant stationary states of finite specific entropy are reversible with respect to the stochastic component of the evolution. Therefore the results of [LO] imply that such invariant measures are superpositions of Gibbs states. Received: 26 September 1996 / Accepted: 3 January 1997  相似文献

In this paper we study hermitian kernels invariant under the action of a semigroup with involution. We characterize those hermitian kernels that realize the given action by bounded operators on a Kre?n space. This is motivated by the GNS representation of *-algebras associated to hermitian functionals, the dilation theory of hermitian maps on C *-algebras, as well as others. We explain the key role played by the technique of induced Kre?n spaces and a lifting property associated to them. Received: 27 March 2000/ Accepted: 5 September 2000  相似文献

We present a generalization of Lie's method for finding the group invariant solutions to a system of partial differential equations. Our generalization relaxes the standard transversality assumption and encompasses the common situation where the reduced differential equations for the group invariant solutions involve both fewer dependent and independent variables. The theoretical basis for our method is provided by a general existence theorem for the invariant sections, both local and global, of a bundle on which a finite dimensional Lie group acts. A simple and natural extension of our characterization of invariant sections leads to an intrinsic characterization of the reduced equations for the group invariant solutions for a system of differential equations. The characterization of both the invariant sections and the reduced equations are summarized schematically by the kinematic and dynamic reduction diagrams and are illustrated by a number of examples from fluid mechanics, harmonic maps, and general relativity. This work also provides the theoretical foundations for a further detailed study of the reduced equations for group invariant solutions. We derive an explicit expression for the Haar integral on the quantized algebra of regular functions ℂ q [K] on the compact real form K of an arbitrary simply connected complex simple algebraic group G. This is done in terms of the irreducible ✶-representations of the Hopf ✶-algebra ℂ q [K]. Quantum analogs of the measures on the symplectic leaves of the standard Poisson structure on K which are (almost) invariant under the dressing action of the dual Poisson algebraic group K are also obtained. They are related to the notion of quantum traces for representations of Hopf algebras. As an application we define and compute explicitly quantum analogs of Harish-Chandra c-functions associated to the elements of the Weyl group of G. The theorem on symmetries is proved that states that a Liouville-integrable Hamiltonian system is non-degene\-rate in Kolmogorov's sense and has compact invariant submanifolds if and only if the corresponding Lie algebra of symmetries is abelian. The theorem on symmetries has applications to the characterization problem, to the integrable hierarchies problem, to the necessary conditions for the strong dynamical compatibility problem, and to the problem on master symmetries. The invariant necessary conditions for the non-degenerate C-integrability in Kolmogorov's sense of a given dynamical system V are derived. It is proved that the C-integrable Hamiltonian system is non-degenerate in the iso-energetic sense if and only if the corresponding Lie algebra of the iso-energetic conformal symmetries is abelian. An extended concept of integrability of Hamiltonian systems on the symplectic manifolds M n , n= 2k, is introduced. The concept of integrability describes the Hamiltonian systems that have quasi-periodic dynamics on tori or on toroidal cylinders of an arbitrary dimension . This concept includes, as a particular case, all Hamiltonian systems that are integrable in Liouville's classical sense, for which . The A-B-C-cohomologies are introduced for dynamical systems on smooth manifolds. Received: 16 January 1996 / Accepted: 3 July 1996  相似文献

We consider the classification of pure infinite volume ground states and that of soliton sectors for 1+1 dimensional massive quantum spin models. We obtain a proof that non-translationally invariant ground state cannot exist for a class of translationally invariant Hamiltonians including the spin 1 AKLT (Affleck Kennedy Lieb Tasaki) antiferromagnetic spin model. We also obtain a complete classification of soliton sectors (up to unitary equivalence) for certain massive models (e.g. ferromagnetic XXZ models). We compute the universal weight system for Vassiliev coming from the Lie superalgebra applying the construction of [13]. This weight system is a function from the space of chord diagrams to the center Z of the universal enveloping algebra of , and we find a combinatorial expression for it in terms of the standard generators of Z. The resulting knot invariants generalize the Alexander-Conway polynomial. Received: 4 July 1996 / Accepted: 21 August 1996  相似文献

We generalize Aubry-Mather theory for configurations on the line to general sets with a group action. Cocycles on the group play the role of rotation numbers. The notion of Birkhoff configuration can be generalized to this setting. Under mild conditions on the group, we show how to find Birkhoff ground states for many-body interactions which are ferromagnetic, invariant under the group action and having periodic phase space. We construct a set of translation invariant pure states of a quantum spin chain, which is w -dense in the set of all translation invariant states of the chain. Each of the approximating states has exponential decay of correlations, and is the unique ground state of a finite range Hamiltonian with a spectral gap above the ground state energy.  相似文献

We present a method for accurately computing the metric entropy (or, equivalently, the Lyapunov exponent) of the absolutely continuous invariant measure μ for a piecewise analytic expanding Markov map T of the interval. We construct atomic signed measures μ M supported on periodic orbits up to period M, and prove that super-exponentially fast. We illustrate our method with several examples. The review of formulation and methods of calculation of the parametrization and gauge invariant effective actions in quantum field theory is given. As an example the Vilkovisky-De Witt Effective action (EA) is studied (this EA is a natural representative of gauge and parametrization invariant EA's). The examples where the use of the standard EA leads to the ambiguity are demonstrated. This happens as the result of dependence of the standard EA upon the choice of gauge condition. These examples are as follows: Coleman-Weinberg potential in the finite theories and symmetry breaking, EA in quantum gravity with matter and d = 5 gauged supergravity, the possibility of spontaneous supersymmetry breaking in N = 1 supergravity and the spontaneous compactification in the multidimensional R2-gravity. In all these cases the one-loop Vilkovisky-De Witt EA is found and therefore the problem of gauge dependence of EA is solved. The dependence of standard EA of composite fields upon the gauge is studied for the general gauge theories. The class of gauge and parametrization invariant EA's of the composite fields is offered.  相似文献

We consider small perturbations of the Zakharov–Shabat nonlinear Schr?dinger equation on [0,π] with vanishing or periodic boundary conditions; we prove a Nekhoroshev type result for solutions starting in the neighbourhood (in the H 1 topology) of the majority of small amplitude finite dimensional invariant tori of the linearized system. More precisely we will prove that along the considered solutions all the actions of the linearized system are approximatively constant up to times growing exponentially with the inverse of a suitable small parameter. We show that the integrated transfer operators for positively weighted independent identically distributed smooth expanding systems give rise to annealed equilibrium states for a new variational principle. The unique annealed equilibrium state coincides with the unique annealed Gibbs state. Using work of Ruelle [1990] and Fried [1995] on generalised Fredholm determinants for transfer operators, we prove that the discrete spectrum of the transfer operators coincides with the correlation spectrum of these invariant measures (yielding exponential decay of correlations), and with the poles of an annealed zeta function, defined also for complex weights. A modified integrated transfer operator is introduced, which describes the (relativised) quenched states studied e.g. by Kifer [1992], and conditions (including SRB) ensuring coincidence of quenched and annealed states are given. For small random perturbations we obtain stability results on the quenched and annealed measures and spectra by applying perturbative results of Young and the author [1993]. The expectation value of a Wilson loop in a Chern–Simons theory is a knot invariant. Its skein relations have been derived in a variety of ways, including variational methods in which small deformations of the loop are made and the changes evaluated. The latter method is only allowed to obtain approximate expressions for the skein relations. We present a generalization of this idea that allows to compute the exact form of the skein relations. Moreover, it requires to generalize the resulting knot invariants to intersecting knots and links in a manner consistent with the Mandelstam identities satisfied by the Wilson loops. This allows for the first time to derive the full expression for knot invariants that are suitable candidates for quantum states of gravity (and supergravity) in the loop representation. The new approach leads to several new insights in intersecting knot theory, in particular the role of non-planar intersections and intersections with kinks. We show that, if the linearization of a map at a fixed point leaves invariant a spectral subspace which satisfies certain nonresonance conditions, the map leaves invariant a smooth manifold tangent to this subspace. This manifold is as smooth as the map—when the smoothness is measured in appropriate scales—but is unique amongC L invariant manifolds, whereL depends only on the spectrum of the linearization or on some more general smoothness classes that we detail. We show that if the nonresonance conditions are not satisfied, a smooth invariant manifold need not exist, and we also establish smooth dependence on parameters. We also discuss some applications of these invariant manifolds and briefly survey related work.  相似文献
