A ring R is called left morphic if for every aR. A left and right morphic ring is called a morphic ring. If Mn(R) is morphic for all n≥1 then R is called a strongly morphic ring. A well-known result of Erlich says that a ring R is unit regular iff it is both (von Neumann) regular and left morphic. A new connection between morphic rings and unit regular rings is proved here: a ring R is unit regular iff R[x]/(xn) is strongly morphic for all n≥1 iff R[x]/(x2) is morphic. Various new families of left morphic or strongly morphic rings are constructed as extensions of unit regular rings and of principal ideal domains. This places some known examples in a broader context and answers some existing questions.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring of char R≠2, d a non-zero derivation of R and ρ a non-zero right ideal of R such that [[d(x),d(y)]n [y,x]m] = 0 for all x,y ∈ ρ or [[d(x),d(y)]n d[y,x]m] = 0 for all x,y ∈ ρ, n, m ≥ 0 are fixed integers. If [ρ,ρ]ρ ≠ 0, then d(ρ)ρ = 0.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R with set of zero-divisors Z(R), the zero-divisor graph of R is Γ(R)=Z(R)−{0}, with distinct vertices x and y adjacent if and only if xy=0. In this paper, we show that Γ(T(R)) and Γ(R) are isomorphic as graphs, where T(R) is the total quotient ring of R, and that Γ(R) is uniquely complemented if and only if either T(R) is von Neumann regular or Γ(R) is a star graph. We also investigate which cardinal numbers can arise as orders of equivalence classes (related to annihilator conditions) in a von Neumann regular ring.  相似文献

For an artinian ring R, the directed zero-divisor graph Γ(R) is connected if and only if there is no proper one-sided identity element in R. Sinks and sources are characterized and clarified for a finite ring R. Especially, it is proved that for any ring R, if there exists a source y in Γ(R) with y2=0, then |R|=4 and R={0,x,y,z}, where x and z are left identity elements and yx=0=yz. Such a ring R is also the only ring such that Γ(R) has exactly one source. This shows that Γ(R) cannot be a network for any finite or infinite ring R.  相似文献

Let F be a finite set of monomials of the same degree d ≥ 2 in a polynomial ring R = k[x 1,…, x n ] over an arbitrary field k. We give some necessary and/or sufficient conditions for the birationality of the ring extension k[F] ? R (d), where R (d) is the dth Veronese subring of R. One of our results extends to arbitrary characteristic, in the case of rational monomial maps, a previous syzygytheoretic birationality criterion in characteristic zero obtained in [1].  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. In this paper, we introduce and study the compressed annihilator graph of R. The compressed annihilator graph of R is the graph AGE(R), whose vertices are equivalence classes of zero-divisors of R and two distinct vertices [x] and [y] are adjacent if and only if ann(x)∪ann(y) ? ann(xy). For a reduced ring R, we show that compressed annihilator graph of R is identical to the compressed zero-divisor graph of R if and only if 0 is a 2-absorbing ideal of R. As a consequence, we show that an Artinian ring R is either local or reduced whenever 0 is a 2-absorbing ideal of R.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring, let Z(R) be the set of all zero-divisors of R and Reg(R) = R\Z(R). The regular graph of R, denoted by G(R), is a graph with all elements of Reg(R) as the vertices, and two distinct vertices x, y ∈ Reg(R) are adjacent if and only if x+yZ(R). In this paper we show that if R is a commutative Noetherian ring and 2 ∈ Z(R), then the chromatic number and the clique number of G(R) are the same and they are 2 n , where n is the minimum number of prime ideals whose union is Z(R). Also, we prove that all trees that can occur as the regular graph of a ring have at most two vertices.  相似文献

LetS denote the ring of endomorphisms of a finite dimensional moduleM R. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a nil subring ofS to be nilpotent are given. We place conditions onM R so that every nil subring ofS will be nilpotent.  相似文献

This note is concerned with generalizations of commutativity. We introduce identity-symmetric and right near-commutative, and study basic structures of rings with such ring properties. It is shown that if R is an identity-symmetric ring, then the set of all nilpotent elements forms a commutative subring of R. Moreover, identity-symmetric regular rings are proved to be commutative. The near-commutativity is shown to be not left-right symmetric, and we study some conditions under which the near-commutativity is left-right symmetric. We also examine the near-commutativity of skew-trivial extensions, which has a role in this note.  相似文献

Let R = k [y1,…,yt] be an affine domain (where k is a field) having krull dimension =n>0. Let I be a nonzero proper ideal of R and D be a subring of K. In section 1 we determine necessary and sufficient conditions in order that (S,R) is a 'lying over pair' where S = D+I. In section 2 we chaaracterize when S is a Maximal non-Noetherian subring of R. Further we determine when S is a maximal subring of R.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. The annihilator graph of R, denoted by AG(R), is the undirected graph with all nonzero zero-divisors of R as vertex set, and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if ann R (xy) ≠ ann R (x) ∪ ann R (y), where for zR, ann R (z) = {rR: rz = 0}. In this paper, we characterize all finite commutative rings R with planar or outerplanar or ring-graph annihilator graphs. We characterize all finite commutative rings R whose annihilator graphs have clique number 1, 2 or 3. Also, we investigate some properties of the annihilator graph under the extension of R to polynomial rings and rings of fractions. For instance, we show that the graphs AG(R) and AG(T(R)) are isomorphic, where T(R) is the total quotient ring of R. Moreover, we investigate some properties of the annihilator graph of the ring of integers modulo n, where n ? 1.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with 1, I be a nilpotent subring of R (there exists a natural number n, such that In = 0), and I be generated by {xj |j ∈ J} as ring. Write U = 1 + I, and it is a nilpotent group with class ≤ n - 1. Let G be the subgroup of U which is generated by {1 + xj|j ∈ J}. The group constructed in this paper indicates that the nilpotency class of G can be less than that of U.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. The total graph of R, denoted by T(Γ(R)) is a graph with all elements of R as vertices, and two distinct vertices x,yR, are adjacent if and only if x+yZ(R), where Z(R) denotes the set of zero-divisors of R. Let regular graph of R, Reg(Γ(R)), be the induced subgraph of T(Γ(R)) on the regular elements of R. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and Z(R) is not an ideal. In this paper we show that if T(Γ(R)) is a connected graph, then . Also, we prove that if R is a finite ring, then T(Γ(R)) is a Hamiltonian graph. Finally, we show that if S is a commutative Noetherian ring and Reg(S) is finite, then S is finite.  相似文献

We observe that every non-commutative unital ring has at least three maximal commutative subrings. In particular, non-commutative rings (resp., finite non-commutative rings) in which there are exactly three (resp., four) maximal commutative subrings are characterized. If R has acc or dcc on its commutative subrings containing the center, whose intersection with the nontrivial summands is trivial, then R is Dedekind-finite. It is observed that every Artinian commutative ring R, is a finite intersection of some Artinian commutative subrings of a non-commutative ring, in each of which, R is a maximal subring. The intersection of maximal ideals of all the maximal commutative subrings in a non-commutative local ring R, is a maximal ideal in the center of R. A ring R with no nontrivial idempotents, is either a division ring or a right ue-ring (i.e., a ring with a unique proper essential right ideal) if and only if every maximal commutative subring of R is either a field or a ue-ring whose socle is the contraction of that of R. It is proved that a maximal commutative subring of a duo ue-ring with finite uniform dimension is a finite direct product of rings, all of which are fields, except possibly one, which is a local ring whose unique maximal ideal is of square zero. Analogues of Jordan-Hölder Theorem (resp., of the existence of the Loewy chain for Artinian modules) is proved for rings with acc and dcc (resp., with dcc) on commutative subrings containing the center. A semiprime ring R has only finitely many maximal commutative subrings if and only if R has a maximal commutative subring of finite index. Infinite prime rings have infinitely many maximal commutative subrings.  相似文献

A ring R is central semicommutative if ab = 0 implies that aRb ? Z(R) for any a, bR. Since every semicommutative ring is central semicommutative, we study sufficient condition for central semicommutative rings to be semicommutative. We prove that some results of semicommutative rings can be extended to central semicommutative rings for this general settings, in particular, it is shown that every central semicommutative ring is nil-semicommutative. We show that the class of central semicommutative rings lies strictly between classes of semicommutative rings and abelian rings. For an Armendariz ring R, we prove that R is central semicommutative if and only if the polynomial ring R[x] is central semicommutative. Moreover, for a central semicommutative ring R, it is proven that (1) R is strongly regular if and only if R is a left GP-V′-ring whose maximal essential left ideals are GW-ideals if and only if R is a left GP-V′-ring whose maximal essential right ideals are GW-ideals. (2) If R is a left SF and central semicommutative ring, then R is a strongly regular ring.  相似文献

The zero-divisor graph of a commutative ring R is the graph whose vertices consist of the nonzero zero-divisors of R such that distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy=0. In this paper, a decomposition theorem is provided to describe weakly central-vertex complete graphs of radius 1. This characterization is then applied to the class of zero-divisor graphs of commutative rings. For finite commutative rings whose zero-divisor graphs are not isomorphic to that of Z4[X]/(X2), it is shown that weak central-vertex completeness is equivalent to the annihilator condition. Furthermore, a schema for describing zero-divisor graphs of radius 1 is provided.  相似文献

We investigate the commutativity in a (semi-)prime ring R which admits skew derivations δ 1, δ 2 satisfying [δ 1(x), δ 2(y)]?=?[x, y] for all x, y in a nonzero right ideal of R. This result is a natural generalization of Bell and Daif’s theorem on strong commutativity preserving derivations and a recent result by Ali and Huang.  相似文献

Within a constructive homological algebra approach, we study the factorization and decomposition problems for a class of linear functional (determined, over-determined, under-determined) systems. Using the concept of Ore algebras of functional operators (e.g., ordinary/partial differential operators, shift operators, time-delay operators), we first concentrate on the computation of morphisms from a finitely presented left module M over an Ore algebra to another one M′, where M (resp., M′) is a module intrinsically associated with the linear functional system Ry = 0 (resp., Rz = 0). These morphisms define applications sending solutions of the system Rz = 0 to solutions of R y = 0. We explicitly characterize the kernel, image, cokernel and coimage of a general morphism. We then show that the existence of a non-injective endomorphism of the module M is equivalent to the existence of a non-trivial factorization R = R2R1 of the system matrix R. The corresponding system can then be integrated “in cascade”. Under certain conditions, we also show that the system Ry = 0 is equivalent to a system Rz = 0, where R′ is a block-triangular matrix of the same size as R. We show that the existence of idempotents of the endomorphism ring of the module M allows us to reduce the integration of the system Ry = 0 to the integration of two independent systems R1y1 = 0 and R2y2 = 0. Furthermore, we prove that, under certain conditions, idempotents provide decompositions of the system Ry = 0, i.e., they allow us to compute an equivalent system R′z = 0, where R′ is a block-diagonal matrix of the same size as R. Applications of these results in mathematical physics and control theory are given. Finally, the different algorithms of the paper are implemented in the Maple package Morphisms based on the library oremodules.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring and set [x, y]1 = [x, y] = xyyx for ${x,y\in R}$ and inductively [x, y] k = [[x, y] k-1, y] for k > 1. We apply the theory of generalized polynomial identities with automorphisms and skew derivations to obtain the following result: If δ is a nonzero σ-derivation of R and L is a noncommutative Lie ideal of R so that [δ(x), x] k  = 0 for all ${x \in L}$ , where k is a fixed positive integer, then charR = 2 and ${R\subseteq M_{2}(F)}$ for some field F. This result generalizes the case of derivations by Lanski and also the case of automorphisms by Mayne.  相似文献
