The first goal of this article is to discuss the existence of solutions of nonlinear quadratic integral equations. These equations are considered in the Banach space L p (?+). The arguments used in the existence proofs are based on Schauder's and Darbo's fixed point theorems. In particular, to apply Schauder's fixed point theorem based method, a special care is devoted to the proof of the L p -compactness of the operators associated with our nonlinear quadratic integral equations. The second goal of this work is to study a numerical method for solving nonlinear Volterra integral equations of a fairly general type. Finally, we provide the reader with some examples that illustrate the different results of this work.  相似文献

By means of critical point theory, existence theorems for nontrivial solutions to the Hammerstein equation x = KFx are given, where K is a compact linear integral operator and F is a nonlinear superposition operator. To this end, appropriate conditions on the spectrum of the linear parte are combined with growth and representation conditions on the nonlinear part to ensure the applicability of the mountain — pass lemma. The abstract existence theorems are applied to nonlinear elliptic equations and systems subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions.  相似文献

We use a technique associated with measures of noncompactness to prove the existence of nondecreasing solutions to an integral equation with linear modification of the argument in the space C[0, 1]. In the last thirty years there has been a great deal of work in the field of differential equations with a modified argument. A special class is represented by the differential equation with affine modification of the argument which can be delay differential equations or differential equations with linear modifications of the argument. In this paper, we consider a wave equation with integral nonlocal boundary conditions of memory type. First, we establish two local existence theorems by using Faedo–Galerkin method and standard arguments of density. A New Integrable Equation with Peakon Solutions   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
We consider a new partial differential equation recently obtained by Degasperis and Procesi using the method of asymptotic integrability; this equation has a form similar to the Camassa–Holm shallow water wave equation. We prove the exact integrability of the new equation by constructing its Lax pair and explain its relation to a negative flow in the Kaup–Kupershmidt hierarchy via a reciprocal transformation. The infinite sequence of conserved quantities is derived together with a proposed bi-Hamiltonian structure. The equation admits exact solutions as a superposition of multipeakons, and we describe the integrable finite-dimensional peakon dynamics and compare it with the analogous results for Camassa–Holm peakons.  相似文献
