Excess molar enthalpies (H m E) of ternary mixtures containing water+(1,2-propanediol or 1,3-propanediol or 1,2-butanediol or 1,3-butanediol or 1,4-butanediol or 2,3-butanediol)+(sodium bromide, or ammonium bromide, or tetraethyl ammonium bromide, or 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide at 0.1 mol⋅dm−3) at 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure have been determined as a function of composition using a modified 1455 Parr mixture calorimeter. The H m E values are negative for all mixtures over the whole composition range. The influence of the electrolyte on the hydrophobic and hydrophilic effects as well as on the behavior of H m E is discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

Excess enthalpies (HE m) and excess heat capacities (CE p) of three binary liquid mixtures comprising dimethylformamide, acetonitrile and benzene have been evaluated from internal pressure data obtained from three different approaches. The results obtained have been compared with the experimental HE m and CE p values determined by Miyanaga et al. [1]. HE m values evaluated through density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity data [2] show anomalous behaviour. A critical review has been given.  相似文献

The values of density (ρ), viscosity (η) and speed of sound (u) have been measured for binary liquid mixtures of γ-butyrolactone (GBL), δ-valerolactone (DVL), and ε-caprolactone (ECL) with N-methylacetamide (NMA) over the whole composition range at T = (303.15 to 318.15) K and atmospheric pressure. From these data, excess molar volume (VE), deviation in viscosity (Δη), and deviation in isentropic compressibility (Δκs), are calculated. The results are fitted to a Redlich–Kister type polynomial equation to derive binary coefficients and standard deviations.  相似文献

Isothermal vapor–liquid equilibrium (VLE) at 333.15 K and 353.15 K for four binary mixtures of benzene + toluene, benzene + N-methylformamide, toluene + m-xylene and toluene + N-methylformamide have been obtained at pressures ranged from 0 kPa to 101.3 kPa. The NRTL, UNIQUAC and Wilson activity coefficient models have been employed to correlate experimental pressures and liquid mole fractions. The non-ideal behavior of the vapor phase has been considered by using the Soave–Redlich–Kwong equation of state in calculating the vapor mole fraction. Liquid and vapor densities were also measured by using two vibrating tube densitometers. The Pxy diagram and the activity coefficient indicate that two mixtures of benzene + toluene and toluene + m-xylene were close to the ideal solution. However, two mixtures containing N-methylformamide present a large positive deviation from the ideal solution. The excess Gibbs energy in the benzene + toluene mixture is negative indicates that it is an exothermic system.  相似文献

The phase behaviour of the {CO2 (1) + cis-decalin (2)} binary system has been experimentally studied at temperatures ranging from (292.75 to 373.75) K. Saturation pressures, ranging from (15.9 to 490.5) bar, were obtained using a variable volume high-pressure cell by visual observation of phase transitions at constant overall composition. For this system, no literature data are available and the results obtained in this study reveal the occurrence of vapor–liquid, liquid–liquid, and vapor–liquid–liquid phase transitions in the investigated temperature range. A total of 133 experimental points are reported including bubble points, dew points, liquid–liquid phase equilibria, and coordinates of the three-phase line. The experimental data can be reasonably predicted by the PPR78 model in which the temperature-dependent binary interaction parameter is calculated by a group contribution method.  相似文献

Excess volumes V E of binary liquid mixtures of quinoline with alkanols have been determined from densities at 30°C as a function of composition. The excess volumes are negative over the whole mole fraction range for all the mixtures and decrease with increasing length of alkanol (C1–C10). The VE data have been analyzed in terms of an approach which uses graph theoretical connectivity parameters of the third degrees for two components. The analysis gives information regarding associated species in the pure state and in the mixture. It is suggested that, in the mixture state, no change occurs in the association of alkanols.  相似文献

Molar excess enthalpies H E have been measured for the binary mixtures MTBE+methanol, MTBE+n-heptane and methanol+n-heptane using a quasi-isothermal flow calorimeter. The measurements have been performed at atmospheric pressure and at 25 and 40°C for all the mixtures and for MTBE+methanol also at 50°C. The experimental results for MTBE methanol and MTBE+n-heptane are compared with those calculated using the NRTL equation.Communicated at the Festsymposium celebrating Dr. Henry V. Isothermal vapor–liquid equilibrium data at 333.15 K are reported for the ternary system di-isopropyl ether (DIPE) + n-propyl alcohol + toluene and the binary subsystems DIPE + n-propyl alcohol, DIPE + toluene and n-propyl alcohol + toluene by using headspace gas chromatography. The excess molar volumes at 298.15 K for the same binary and ternary systems were also determined by directly measured densities. The experimental binary and ternary vapor–liquid equilibrium data were correlated with different GE models and the excess molar volumes were correlated with the Redlich–Kister equation for the binary systems and the Cibulka equation for the ternary system, respectively.  相似文献

Enthalpies of solution of 15-crown-5 ether in the acetonitrile–water–sodium iodide system have been measured at 25°C. The equilibrium constants of complex formation of 15C5 with sodium iodide have been determined by molar conductance at various mole ratios 15C5 to sodium iodide in mixtures of water with acetonitrile at 25°C. The thermodynamic functions for complexation of the crown ether with Na+ were calculated. From the result, the standard Gibbs energies of complex formation as a function of the normalized Lewis acidity parameters E N T and enthalpy of solvation of 15C5 in the mixtures of water with acetonitrile have been analyzed. The enthalpies of transfer of the 15C5 complex with sodium iodide from pure acetonitrile to the mixtures studied were calculated and discussed.  相似文献

Excess molar volumes V E and excess molar heat capacities C P E at constant pressure have been measured, at 25°C, as a function of composition for the four binary liquid mixtures propylene carbonate (4-methyl-1,3-dioxolan-2-one, C4H6O3; PC) + benzene (C6H6;B), + toluene (C6H5CH3;T), + ethylbenzene (C6H5C2H5;EB), and + p-xylene (p-C6H4(CH3)2;p-X) using a vibrating-tube densimeter and a Picker flow microcalorimeter, respectively. All the excess volumes are negative and noticeably skewed towards the hydrocarbon side: V E (cm3-mol–1) at the minimum ranges from about –0.31 at x1=0.43 for {x1C4H6O3+x2p-C6H4(CH3)2}, to –0.45 at x1=0.40 for {x1C4H6O3+x2C6H5CH3}. For the systems (PC+T), (PC+EB) and (PC+p-X) the C P E s are all positive and even more skewed. For instance, for (PC+T) the maximum is at x 1,max =0.31 with C P,max E =1.91 J-K–1-mol–1. Most interestingly, C P E of {x1C4H6O3+x2C6H6} exhibits two maxima near the ends of the composition range and a minimum at x 1,min =0.71 with C P,min E =–0.23 J-K–1-mol–1. For this type of mixture, it is the first reported case of an M-shaped composition dependence of the excess molar heat capacity at constant pressure.Communicated at the Festsymposium celebrating Dr. Henry V. Partial molar enthalpies and excess enthalpies HE of binary mixtures of heptane + secondary and tertiary n-alkyl, primary cycloalkyl, and secondary (hetero)cyclic amines have been determined at 298.15 K by isothermal titration calorimetry in the whole composition range. All mixtures showed positive HE values which decrease with increasing amine size in each category, and decrease in the order cyclic primary > cyclic secondary > linear primary [1] > secondary > tertiary when comparing amines of similar size in different categories. From partial molar enthalpies at infinite dilution and known enthalpies of vaporization, the solvation enthalpies have been calculated either for heptane in amines and for amines in heptane. These quantities, together with their cavitational and interactional terms obtained applying the scaled particle theory, are discussed to get insight into the types and relative strength of solute-solvent interactions and into their effects on molecular structure features such as branching and cyclization.  相似文献

We investigated the removal of aromatics from a typical Kuwait middle distillate using liquid–liquid extraction. A multicomponent system; dodecane + hexadecane + 1,3,5-trimethyl benzene (mesitylene) + butylbenzene; was used to represent the middle distillate mixture. N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) was used as a solvent. The liquid–liquid equilibria (LLE) of the mixture was studied over a temperature range of 293–323 K and at different solvent to feed ratios (1.35–1.97). The selectivity and distribution coefficient of the solvent were correlated successfully using the universal quasi-chemical (UNIQUAC) model for the pseudo-ternary system (paraffins (1) + aromatics (2) + NMP (3)) at the studied temperature range. The UNIQUAC model fit the experimental data with an average percentage root mean square deviation (rmds) of 0.2980%.  相似文献

Molar excess volumes, VE, molar excess enthalpies, HE, and speeds of sound data, u, of pyrrolidin-2-one (i) + ethanol or propan-1-ol or propan-2-ol or butan-1-ol (j) binary mixtures have been determined over entire composition range at 308.15 K. The observed speeds of sound data have been utilized to predict excess isentropic compressibilities, of the investigated binary mixtures. The observed excess thermodynamic properties VE, HE and have been analyzed in terms of Graph theory. The analysis of VE data by the Graph theory suggests that pyrrolidin-2-one exists mainly as a mixture of cyclic and open dimer; ethanol as a mixture of dimer and trimer; butan-1-ol and propan-2-ol as mixture of monomer and dimer and propan-1-ol as a dimer in the pure state, and their mixtures contain 1:1 molecular complex. The IR studies lend additional credence to the nature and extent of interactions for the proposed molecular entities in the mixtures. Also, it has been observed that VE, HE and values predicted by the Graph theory compare well to with their corresponding experimental values.  相似文献

Experimental data of excess molar enthalpy (H mE) of binary liquid mixtures containing (methanol or ethanol or 1-propanol, or 1-butanol) + n-butylamine mixtures have been determined as a function of composition at temperatures 288.15 and 308.15 K, at atmospheric pressure, using a modified 1455 PARR mixture calorimeter. The H mE values are negative for both systems over the whole composition range. The applicability of the ERAS Model to correlate H mE of mixtures studied is tested, and the agreement between experimental and theoretical results is satisfactory. The model results are discussed in terms of the cross-association interactions with temperature variation as well as in terms of the variation of the carbon chain in the alcohols presents in the mixtures.  相似文献

Densities have been obtained as a function of composition for ternary-pseudobinary mixtures of [(benzene + tetrachloromethane or n-hexane) + (cyclohexane + tetrachloromethane or n-hexane)] at atmospheric pressure and the temperature 298.15 K, by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter. Excess molar volumes, VmE, partial molar volumes and excess partial molar volumes were calculated from the density data. The values of VmE have been correlated using the Redlich–Kister equation and the coefficients and standard errors were estimated. The experimental and calculated quantities are used to discuss the mixing behavior of the components. The results show that the third component, CCl4 or n-C6H14, have quite different influences on the volumetric properties of binary liquid mixtures of benzene with cyclohexane.  相似文献
