A silver‐catalyzed amidiniumation of N‐propiolic formamidines for the synthesis of novel enamine amido carbene precursors is reported. Isolation of a first silver intermediate in silver‐catalyzed amidiniumation of alkynes and other organogold intermediates supports our proposed mechanisms. Several control experiments reveal the unexpected effects of both HOTf and substrate substituents on the choice of either a π or σ,π silver activation mode and the cyclization fashion. Bis(hydroxyimidazol)ium salts were obtained through an unprecedented umpolung of propiolamides. The byproduct Ag2O as either an oxidant or silver source promotes the syntheses of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors or Ag/NHC complexes.  相似文献

We have developed I2‐ or N‐iodosuccinimide (NIS)‐mediated amidiniumation of N‐alkenyl formamidines for the syntheses of cyclic formamidinium salts, some of which could be directly used as N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors. Treatment of iodine‐containing formamidinium salts with Al2O3 led to the formation of cyclic formamidinium salts with an unsaturated backbone. A rhodium(I) complex ligated by a representative NHC was prepared by the reaction of [Rh(cod)Cl]2 (cod=1,5‐cyclooctadiene) with the free carbene obtained in situ from deprotonation of the corresponding formamidinium salts. The NHCs prepared in situ can also react with S8 to afford the corresponding thiones.  相似文献

We have developed a CuII‐, AgI‐, and NaOTf‐mediated intramolecular quaternization by arylation reactions to synthesize a variety of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors with a benzene‐fused backbone. The methodology also provides a convenient alternative route for the synthesis of 6‐H‐phenanthridine derivatives. A novel silver–NHC complex was prepared by treatment of Ag2O with the free carbene, which was in situ prepared from the deprotonation of a representative quinazolinonium salt.  相似文献

Salts of a copper and a silver carbene complex were prepared from dimesityl diazomethane, made possible by the steric shielding of the N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ancillary ligand IPr**. The mint‐green complex [IPr**Ag=CMes2]+[NTf2]? is the first isolated silver carbene complex without heteroatom donor substituents. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction provides evidence for a predominant carbenoid character, and supports the postulation of such reactive species as intermediates in silver‐catalyzed C? H activation reactions. The greenish yellow copper carbene complex [IPr**Cu=CMes2]+[NTf2]? has spectroscopic properties in between the isostructural silver complex and the already reported emerald green gold carbene complex. A comparison in the Group 11 series indicates that relativistic effects are responsible for the strong σ bond and the significant π back‐bonding in the gold carbene moiety.  相似文献

From the reaction of 1H‐imidazole ( 1a ), 4,5‐dichloro‐1H‐imidazole ( 1b ) and 1H‐benzimidazole ( 1c ) with p‐cyanobenzyl bromide ( 2 ), symmetrically substituted N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) [( 3a–c )] precursors, 1‐methylimidazole ( 5a ), 4,5‐dichloro‐1‐methylimidazole ( 5b ) and 1‐methylbenzimidazole ( 5c ) with benzyl bromide ( 6 ), non‐symmetrically substituted N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) [( 7a–c )] precursors were synthesized. These NHC? precursors were then reacted with silver(I) acetate to yield the NHC‐silver complexes [1,3‐bis(4‐cyanobenzyl)imidazole‐2‐ylidene] silver(I) acetate ( 4a ), [4,5‐dichloro‐1,3‐bis(4‐cyanobenzyl)imidazole‐2‐ylidene] silver(I) acetate ( 4b ), [1,3‐bis(4‐cyanobenzyl)benzimidazole‐2‐ylidene] silver(I) acetate ( 4c ), (1‐methyl‐3‐benzylimidazole‐2‐ylidene) silver(I) acetate ( 8a ), (4,5‐dichloro‐1‐methyl‐3‐benzylimidazole‐2‐ylidene) silver(I) acetate ( 8b ) and (1‐methyl‐3‐benzylbenzimidazole‐2‐ylidene) silver(I) acetate ( 8c ) respectively. The four NHC‐precursors 3a–c, 7c and four NHC–silver complexes 4a–c and 8c were characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction. The preliminary antibacterial activity of all the compounds was studied against Gram‐negative bacteria Escherichia coli, and Gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus using the qualitative Kirby‐Bauer disc‐diffusion method. All NHC–silver complexes exhibited medium to high antibacterial activity with areas of clearance ranging from 4 to 12 mm at the highest amount used, while the NHC‐precursors showed significantly lower activity. In addition, all NHC–silver complexes underwent preliminary cytotoxicity tests on the human renal‐cancer cell line Caki‐1 and showed medium to high cytotoxicity with IC50 values ranging from 53 ( ± 8) to 3.2 ( ± 0.6) µM. A series of monomeric palladacycle complexes bearing n‐butyl‐substituted N‐heterocyclic carbenes, namely [Pd(NHC)X(dmba)] (dmba: dimethylbenzylamine and [Pd(NHC)X(ppy)]; NHC: 1‐n‐butyl‐3‐substituted benzylimidazol‐2‐ylidene; ppy: 2‐phenylpyridine), were prepared either by transmetallation from the corresponding silver carbene complexes or by the reaction of the corresponding acetate‐bridged palladacycle dimer with N‐heterocyclic carbene ligands in high yields. The palladium(II) complexes were characterized using elemental analyses, APCI‐MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies. These complexes are efficient in the Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction between phenylboronic acid and aryl bromides.  相似文献

A series of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors, 1‐methoxylethyl‐3‐allylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ( 1 ), 1‐ethyl‐3‐allylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ( 2 ), and 1‐pentyl‐3‐allylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ( 3 ) were synthesized. These salts were treated with Ag2O to afford their corresponding mononuclear Ag(I)‐NHC complexes, namely 1‐methoxylethyl‐3‐allylimidazolium silver(I) hexafluorophosphate ( 4 ), 1‐ethyl‐3‐allylimidazolium silver(I) hexafluorophosphate ( 5 ), and 1‐pentyl‐3‐allylimidazolium silver(I) hexafluorophosphate ( 6 ), respectively. These compounds were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopy techniques. Compounds 4 and 5 were structurally characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction, and their stability in solution was investigated and found to be acceptable for the antibacterial studies. These new NHC precursors and their respective Ag–NHC complexes were screened for their antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 12600) and Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922). Compounds 1–3 showed no inhibition, whereas 4–6 inhibited the growth of these bacteria. The nuclease activities of the reported compounds against plasmid DNA and RNA were assessed by gel electrophoresis, and the results indicate that complexes 5 and 6 can degrade both DNA and RNA in the absence of an oxidant.  相似文献

A highly enantioselective iridium‐ or ruthenium‐catalyzed intermolecular reductive amination/asymmetric hydrogenation relay with 2‐quinoline aldehydes and aromatic amines has been developed. A broad range of sterically tunable chiral N,N′‐diaryl vicinal diamines were obtained in high yields (up to 95 %) with excellent enantioselectivity (up to >99 % ee). The resulting chiral diamines could be readily transformed into sterically hindered chiral N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors, which are otherwise difficult to access. The usefulness of this synthetic approach was further demonstrated by the successful application of one of the chiral vicinal diamines and chiral NHC ligands in a transition‐metal‐catalyzed asymmetric Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reaction and asymmetric ring‐opening cross‐metathesis, respectively.  相似文献

Described is an unprecedented NHC‐catalyzed (NHC=N‐heterocyclic carbene), stereoselective ring opening of epoxy and cyclopropyl enals to deliver valuable compounds bearing multiple stereocenters. A straightforward three‐step procedure involving two catalytic enantioselective transformations has been developed and leads to a regio‐ and stereodivergent synthesis of either 1,2‐amino alcohols/diamines or 1,4‐fluoro alcohols with excellent diastereo‐ and enantiopurity.  相似文献

Radical borylation using N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC)‐BH3 complexes as boryl radical precursors has emerged as an important synthetic tool for organoboron assembly. However, the majority of reported methods are limited to reaction modes involving carbo‐ and/or hydroboration of specific alkenes and alkynes. Moreover, the generation of NHC‐boryl radicals relies principally on hydrogen atom abstraction with the aid of radical initiators. A distinct radical generation method is reported, as well as the reaction pathways of NHC‐boryl radicals enabled by photoredox catalysis. NHC‐boryl radicals are generated via a single‐electron oxidation and subsequently undergo cross‐coupling with the in‐situ‐generated radical anions to yield gem‐difluoroallylboronates. A photoredox‐catalyzed radical arylboration reaction of alkenes was achieved using cyanoarenes as arylating components from which elaborated organoborons were accessed. Mechanistic studies verified the oxidative formation of NHC‐boryl radicals through a single‐electron‐transfer pathway.  相似文献

A series of new benzimidazolium salts as N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors has been synthesized. Reactions of these salts with Ag2O with varying metal‐to‐salt ratio facilitate the formation of a series of new binuclear and mononuclear Ag(I)–NHC complexes. All compounds were characterized using physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study reveals a binuclear structure for one of the complexes and a mononuclear one for two others. These complexes exist as cationic Ag(I)–NHC complexes with the chelation of carbene carbons to the silver centre in an almost linear manner. The compounds were screened for their anti‐bacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 12600) as a Gram‐positive bacterium and Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922) as a Gram‐negative bacterium. The results show that both bacteria appear markedly inhibited. Furthermore, the results suggest the possibility of steric variation as a modulation of the anti‐bacterial activities. The nuclease activities of the compounds were assessed using gel electrophoresis and the results indicate that these complexes can cleave or degrade DNA and RNA via a non‐oxidative mechanism. This paper reports an environmentally friendly and highly efficient synthesis of organic semiconductor materials via a Pd/N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC)‐catalyzed Suzuki reaction in aqueous ethanol with high isolated yields (86–98%). Firstly, four glucopyranoside‐substituted NHC precursors with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) chains were synthesized and characterized. The NHC precursor with the longest PEG chain (n = 16) was found to be the most efficient ligand in the reactions of a wide range of aryl halides and arylboronic acids. The best catalyst system obtained in this work could be recycled five times without significant loss of catalytic activity.l Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We report herein a detailed study of the use of porphyrins fused to imidazolium salts as precursors of N‐heterocyclic carbene ligands 1 M . Rhodium(I) complexes 6 M – 9 M were prepared by using 1 M ligands with different metal cations in the inner core of the porphyrin (M=NiII, ZnII, MnIII, AlIII, 2H). The electronic properties of the corresponding N‐heterocyclic carbene ligands were investigated by monitoring the spectroscopic changes occurring in the cod and CO ancillary ligands of [( 1 M )Rh(cod)Cl] and [( 1 M )Rh(CO)2Cl] complexes (cod=1,5‐cyclooctadiene). Porphyrin–NHC ligands 1 M with a trivalent metal cation such as MnIII and AlIII are overall poorer electron donors than porphyrin–NHC ligands with no metal cation or incorporating a divalent metal cation such as NiII and ZnII. Imidazolium salts 3 M (M=Ni, Zn, Mn, 2H) have also been used as NHC precursors to catalyze the ring‐opening polymerization of L ‐lactide. The results clearly show that the inner metal of the porphyrin has an important effect on the reactivity of the outer carbene.  相似文献

Copper and silver N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes were prepared through a simple, base‐free protocol involving the decomposition of corresponding imidazol(in)ium‐2‐carboxylates under thermolytic conditions and a subsequent reaction of the in situ generated carbenes with copper(I) or silver(I) chloride, respectively. By using functionalized imidazolium salts such as 1‐allyl‐3‐alkylimidazolium or 1‐alkyl‐3‐vinylimidazolium salts as carbene ligand precursors, the reduction of aryl ketones with triethoxysilane may be catalyzed by copper salt/imidazolium salt/KOtBu systems. The functional substituents attached to the N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) serve to enhance the catalytic activity. Different copper salts also have an effect on the catalytic activity, with copper(II) acetate monohydrate being superior to copper(I) chloride.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterisation and biological activity of water‐soluble Ag(I)‐NHC complexes, general formula Na[(NHC)AgCl] where NHC is a sulfonated and sterically hindered N‐heterocyclic carbene, is reported. The Ag‐NHC complexes (2a–e) were synthesised by reacting the corresponding sulfonated NHC ligands with Ag2O in the presence of NaCl or NaBr in methanol/water (1:1) solution. Synthesised silver (I)‐N‐heterocyclic carbene complexes have been characterised by NMR, micro‐analysis and HRMS spectroscopic methods. The IC50 values of these complexes were determined by a proliferation BrdU enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) against HeLa (human cervix carcinoma), HT29 (human adenocarcinoma) and L929 (mouse fibroblast) cell lines. These complexes have been highlighted as promising and original platforms for building new types of metalodrug. All new water‐soluble Ag(I) complexes demonstrated remarkable cytotoxic activity against HeLa, HT29 and L929 cell lines.  相似文献

A highly enantioselective N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalyzed formal [3+2] annulation of α,β‐unsaturated aldehydes with azaaurones or aurone generating spiro‐heterocycles has been developed.
