This paper deals with a class of degenerate quasilinear elliptic equations of the form −div(a(x,u,u)=g−div(f), where a(x,u,u) is allowed to be degenerate with the unknown u. We prove existence of bounded solutions under some hypothesis on f and g. Moreover we prove that there exists a renormalized solution in the case where gL1(Ω) and f∈(Lp(Ω))N.  相似文献

This paper concerns semilinear elliptic equations whose nonlinear term has the formW(x)f(u) whereW changes sign. We study the existence of positive solutions and their multiplicity. The important role played by the negative part ofW is contained in a condition which is shown to be necessary for homogeneousf. More general existence questions are also discussed.Supported in part by NSF grant DMS9003149.  相似文献

In this paper, the eigenvalue problem for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving critical potential and indefinite weights is investigated. We obtain the simplicity, strict monotonicity and isolation of the first eigenvalue λ1. Furthermore, because of the isolation of λ1, we prove the existence of the second eigenvalue λ2. Then, using the Trudinger-Moser inequality, we obtain the existence of a nontrivial weak solution for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations involving critical singularity and indefinite weights in the case of 0<λ<λ1 by the Mountain Pass Lemma, and in the case of λ1λ<λ2 by the Linking Argument Theorem.  相似文献

Let r,s∈]1,2[r,s]1,2[ and λ,μ∈]0,+∞[λ,μ]0,+[. In this paper, we deal with the existence and multiplicity of nonnegative and nonzero solutions of the Dirichlet problem with 00 boundary data for the semilinear elliptic equation −Δu=λus−1−ur−1Δu=λus1ur1 in Ω⊂RNΩRN, where N≥2N2. We prove that there exists a positive constant ΛΛ such that the above problem has at least two solutions, at least one solution or no solution according to whether λ>Λλ>Λ, λ=Λλ=Λ or λ<Λλ<Λ. In particular, a result by Hernandéz, Macebo and Vega is improved and, for the semilinear case, a result by Díaz and Hernandéz is partially extended to higher dimensions. Finally, an answer to a conjecture, recently stated by the author, is also given.  相似文献

Extending a previous result of Tang [1] we prove the uniqueness of positive radial solutions of Δpu+f(u)=0, subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions on an annulus in Rn with 2<pn, under suitable hypotheses on the nonlinearity f. This argument also provides an alternative proof for the uniqueness of positive solutions of the same problem in a finite ball (see [9]), in the complement of a ball or in the whole space Rn (see [10], [3] and [11]).  相似文献

We consider the Dirichlet problem in Ω with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions. We prove local summability properties of and we exploit these results to give geometric characterizations of the critical set . We extend to the case of changing sign nonlinearities some results known in the case f(s) > 0 for s > 0. We consider the Dirichlet problem for a class of fully nonlinear elliptic equations on a bounded domain Ω. We assume that Ω is symmetric about a hyperplane H and convex in the direction perpendicular to H. By a well-known result of Gidas, Ni and Nirenberg and its generalizations, all positive solutions are reflectionally symmetric about H and decreasing away from the hyperplane in the direction orthogonal to H. For nonnegative solutions, this result is not always true. We show that, nonetheless, the symmetry part of the result remains valid for nonnegative solutions: any nonnegative solution u is symmetric about H  . Moreover, we prove that if u?0u?0, then the nodal set of u divides the domain Ω into a finite number of reflectionally symmetric subdomains in which u has the usual Gidas–Ni–Nirenberg symmetry and monotonicity properties. We also show several examples of nonnegative solutions with a nonempty interior nodal set.  相似文献

Quasilinear elliptic equations in R2R2 of second order with critical exponential growth are considered. By using a change of variable, the quasilinear equations are reduced to semilinear equations, whose respective associated functionals are well defined in H1(R2)H1(R2) and satisfy the geometric hypotheses of the mountain pass theorem. Using this fact, we obtain a Cerami sequence converging weakly to a solution vv. In the proof that vv is nontrivial, the main tool is the concentration–compactness principle [P.L. Lions, The concentration compactness principle in the calculus of variations. The locally compact case. Part I and II, Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Anal. Non. Linéaire 1 (1984) 109–145, 223–283] combined with test functions connected with optimal Trudinger–Moser inequality.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence and nonexistence of positive weak solutions of degenerate quasilinear elliptic systems with subcritical and critical exponents. The nonlinearities involved have semipositone and positone structures and the existence results are obtained by applying the lower and upper-solution method and variational techniques.  相似文献

We consider the boundary value problem Δu+up=0 in a bounded, smooth domain Ω in R2 with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and p a large exponent. We find topological conditions on Ω which ensure the existence of a positive solution up concentrating at exactly m points as p→∞. In particular, for a nonsimply connected domain such a solution exists for any given m?1.  相似文献

In this paper we study the existence and structure of the least-energy solutions for a class of singularly perturbed quasilinear elliptic equations. Using the moving plane method and a geometric lemma we show that any least-energy solution develops to a single spike-layer solution on convex domains.  相似文献

In this paper we establish the existence of standing wave solutions for quasilinear Schrödinger equations involving critical growth. By using a change of variables, the quasilinear equations are reduced to semilinear one, whose associated functionals are well defined in the usual Sobolev space and satisfy the geometric conditions of the mountain pass theorem. Using this fact, we obtain a Cerami sequence converging weakly to a solution v. In the proof that v is nontrivial, the main tool is the concentration-compactness principle due to P.L. Lions together with some classical arguments used by H. Brezis and L. Nirenberg (1983) in [9].  相似文献

We consider a semilinear elliptic Dirichlet problem with jumping nonlinearity and, using variational methods, we show that the number of solutions tends to infinity as the number of jumped eigenvalues tends to infinity. In order to prove this fact, for every positive integer k we prove that, when a parameter is large enough, there exists a solution which presents k interior peaks. We also describe the asymptotic behaviour and the profile of this solution as the parameter tends to infinity.  相似文献
