Nonlinear nonautonomous discrete dynamical systems (DDS) whose continuum limits are the well-known Painlevé equations, have recently arisen in models of quantum gravity. The Painlevé equations are believed integrable because each is the isomonodromy condition for an associated linear differential equation. However, not every DDS with an integrable continuum limit is necessarily integrable. Which of the many discrete versions of the Painlevé equations inherit their integrability is not known. How to derive all their integrable discrete versions is also not known. We provide a systematic method of attacking these questions by giving a general discrete isomonodromy problem. Discrete versions of the first and second Painlevé equations are deduced from this general problem.  相似文献

Given a simple, simply laced, complex Lie algebra corresponding to the Lie group G, let be thesubalgebra generated by the positive roots. In this Letter we construct aBV algebra whose underlying graded commutative algebra is given by the cohomology, with respect to , of the algebra of regular functions on G with values in . We conjecture that describes the algebra of allphysical (i.e., BRST invariant) operators of the noncritical string. We classify the SL(2, )-covariant subsystems by showing that they are all fixed points nets H for some subgroup H of the gauge automorphisms group SO(3) of . We study the spectrum of random Schrödinger operators acting onL 2(R d ) of the following type . The are i.i.d. random variables. Under weak assumptions onV, we prove exponential localization forH at the lower edge of its spectrum. In order to do this, we give a new proof of the Wegner estimate that works without sign assumptions onV.
Résumé Dans ce travail, nous étudions le spectre d'opérateurs de Schrödinger aléatoires agissant surL 2(R d ) du type suivant . Les sont des variables aléatoires i.i.d. Sous de faibles hypothèses surV, nous démontrons que le bord inférieur du spectre deH n'est composé que de spectre purement ponctuel et, que les fonctions propres associées sont exponentiellement décroissantes. Pour ce faire nous donnons une nouvelle preuve de l'estimée de Wegner valable sans hypothèses de signe surV.

Representations of theC*-algebra of observables corresponding to thermal equilibrium of a system at given temperatureT and chemical potential are studied. Both for finite and for infinite systems it is shown that the representation is reducible and that there exists a conjugation in the representation space, which maps the von Neumann algebra spanned by the representative of onto its commutant. This means that there is an equivalent anti-linear representation of in the commutant. The relation of these properties with the Kubo-Martin-Schwinger boundary condition is discussed.  相似文献

The regular and irregular solution of the differential three-dimensional Schrödinger equation with the confining potential , is presented. In full analogy with the recentq=1 conjecture of Singhet al. [1], the corresponding Green's function is constructed in terms of the extended continued fraction. For the simplest example withV(r)=r 2+2 r 4, its convergence is proved and the resulting energy spectrum is numerically tested.  相似文献

Any manual of Boolean locales in the strong sense, namely a subcategory of the opposite category of the category of complete Boolean algebras and complete Boolean homomorphisms satisfying not only conditions (3.1)–(3.10) of our previous paper [International Journal of Theoretical Physics,32, 1293 (1993b)], but also conditions (4.1)–(4.4) of that paper, is shown to be representable as the second-class orthomodular manual of Boolean locales on an orthomodular poset In this sense the study on manuals of Boolean locales in the strong sense is tantamount to the study on a special class of orthomodular posets, though our viewpoint is radically different from the conventional one in the traditional approach to orthomodular posets. Then the notion of a manual of Hilbert spaces or exactly what is called a manual of Hilbert locales is introduced, over which a variant of the celebrated Gelfand-Naimark-Segal theorem for a manual of Boolean locales in the strong sense is established.  相似文献

We give a complete characterization, including a Lévy–Itô decomposition, of Poincaré-invariant Markov processes on , the relativistic phase space in 1+1 spacetime dimensions. Metallic cluster growth within a reactive polymer matrix is modeled by augmenting coagulation equations to include the influence of side reactions of metal atoms with the polymer matrix: where > 0 and where c k denotes the concentration of the kth cluster and p denotes the concentration of reactive sites available within the polymer matrix for reaction with metallic atoms. The initial conditions are required to be non-negative and satisfy and p(0) = p 0. We assume that for 01, which encompasses both bond linking kernels (R jk = j k ) and surface reaction kernels (R jk = j + k ). Our analytical and numerical results indicate that the side reactions delay gelation in some cases and inhibit gelation in others. We provide numerical evidence that gelation occurs for the classical coagulation equations ( = 0) with the bond linking kernel (d ) for 1/2<1. We examine the relative fraction of metal atoms, which coagulate compared to those which interact with the polymer matrix, and demonstrate in particular a linear dependence on –1 in the limiting case R = jk , p 0=1.  相似文献

Lu has shown that any dynamical r-matrix for the pair ( , ) naturally induces a Poisson homogeneous structure on G/U. She also proved that if is complex simple, is its Cartan subalgebra and r is quasitriangular, then this correspondence is in fact one-to-one. In this Letter we find some general conditions under which the Lu correspondence is one-to-one. Then we apply this result to describe all triangular Poisson homogeneous structures on G/U for a simple complex group G and its reductive subgroup U containing a Cartan subgroup.  相似文献

Considering a system ofN identical interacting particles, which obey Fermi-Dirac or Bose-Einstein statistics, we derive new formulas for correlation functions of the type (whereB j is diagonal in the free-particle states) in the thermodynamic limit. Thereby we apply and extend a superoperator formalism, recently developed for the derivation of long-time tails in semiclassical systems. As an illustrative application, the Boltzmann equation value of the time-integrated correlation functionC(t) is derived in a straightforward manner. Due to exchange effects, the obtained t-matrix and the resulting scattering cross section, which occurs in the Boltzmann collision operator, are now functionals of the Fermi-Dirac or Bose-Einstein distribution.  相似文献

LetG be a Lie group. For any Abelian subalgebra of the Lie algebra g ofG, and any , the difference of the left and right translates ofr gives a compatible Poisson bracket onG. We show how to construct the corresponding quantum group, in theC *-algebra setting. A general class of Lorentzian metrics, , , with any Riemannian manifold, is introduced in order to generalize classical exact plane fronted waves. Here, we start a systematic study of their main geodesic properties: geodesic completeness, geodesic connectedness and multiplicity causal character of connecting geodesics. These results are independent of the possibility of a full integration of geodesic equations. Variational and geometrical techniques are applied systematically. In particular, we prove that the asymptotic behavior of H(x,u) with x at infinity determines many properties of geodesics. Essentially, a subquadratic growth of H ensures geodesic completeness and connectedness, while the critical situation appears when H(x,u) behaves in some direction as , as in the classical model of exact gravitational waves.  相似文献

For a compact connected orientablen-manifoldM, n 3, we study the structure ofclassical superspace ,quantum superspace ,classical conformal superspace , andquantum conformal superspace . The study of the structure of these spaces is motivated by questions involving reduction of the usual canonical Hamiltonian formulation of general relativity to a non-degenerate Hamiltonian formulation, and to questions involving the quantization of the gravitational field. We show that if the degree of symmetry ofM is zero, thenS,S 0,C, andC 0 areilh orbifolds. The case of most importance for general relativity is dimensionn=3. In this case, assuming that the extended Poincaré conjecture is true, we show that quantum superspaceS 0 and quantum conformal superspaceC 0 are in factilh-manifolds. If, moreover,M is a Haken manifold, then quantum superspace and quantum conformal superspace arecontractible ilh-manifolds. In this case, there are no Gribov ambiguities for the configuration spacesS 0 andC 0. Our results are applicable to questions involving the problem of thereduction of Einstein's vacuum equations and to problems involving quantization of the gravitational field. For the problem of reduction, one searches for a way to reduce the canonical Hamiltonian formulation together with its constraint equations to an unconstrained Hamiltonian system on a reduced phase space. For the problem of quantum gravity, the spaceC 0 will play a natural role in any quantization procedure based on the use of conformal methods and the reduced Hamiltonian formulation.  相似文献

In the framework of the rest-frame instant form of tetrad gravity, where the Hamiltonian is the weak ADM energy , we define a special completely fixed 3-orthogonal Hamiltonian gauge, corresponding to a choice of non-harmonic 4-coordinates, in which the independent degrees of freedom of the gravitational field are described by two pairs of canonically conjugate Dirac observables (DO) . We define a Hamiltonian linearization of the theory, i.e. gravitational waves, without introducing any background 4-metric, by retaining only the linear terms in the DO's in the super-hamiltonian constraint (the Lichnerowicz equation for the conformal factor of the 3-metric) and the quadratic terms in the DO's in . We solve all the constraints of the linearized theory: this amounts to work in a well defined post-Minkowskian Christodoulou-Klainermann space-time. The Hamilton equations imply the wave equation for the DO's , which replace the two polarizations of the TT harmonic gauge, and that linearized Einstein's equations are satisfied. Finally we study the geodesic equation, both for time-like and null geodesics, and the geodesic deviation equation.  相似文献
