In the context of a strong discontinuity approach, we propose a finite element formulation with an embedded displacement discontinuity. The basic assumption of the proposed approach is the additive split of the total displacement field in a continuous and a discontinuous part. An arbitrary crack splits the linear triangular finite element into two parts, namely a triangular and a quadrilateral part. The discontinuous part of the displacement field in the quadrilateral portion is approximated using linear shape functions. For these purposes, the quadrilateral portion is divided into two triangular parts which is in this way similar to the approach proposed in [5]. In contrast, the discretisation is different compared to formulations proposed in [1] and [3], where the discontinuous part of the displacement field is approximated using bilinear shape functions. The basic theory of the underlying finite element formulation and a cohesive interface model to simulate brittle fracture are presented. We consider elliptic optimal control problems with constraints on the gradient of the state and propose two distinguish concepts for their discretization. The first concept uses piecewise linear, continuous finite element Ansatz functions for the state, while the second concept uses the lowest order Raviart–Thomas mixed finite element. In both cases variational discretization from [5] is used for the controls. In this contribution, a free–locking shell element with piezoelectric ceramic layers is presented. The material law and the constitutive equations of the coupled electro–mechanical problem are derived in convective coordinates, so that the presented element accounts for geometrical nonlinearities [2]. To avoid zero–energy mode and locking effects of the thin shell structure, assumed natural strain (ANS) method [1] is implemented. 在M.F.Wheeler的[5]中,对一类拟线性抛物型方程的F.E.M,进行了颇为深入的理论分析。但是,[5]所考虑的方程,其高阶项的系数,尚有某种局限性,以致不能应用于一般的各向异性问题;对于混合边界的情形,也未加讨论。此外,[5]中所涉及的条件也是较强的,如要求解函数u(x,t)∈c~2(Ω×[0,T])等等。 本文对实践中常常遇到的具有第三混合边界条件的一类拟线性扩散问题的F.E.M,在较[5]为弱的条件下,进行了讨论,把有关拟线性问题的误差估计问题归结为某一线性椭圆边值问题F.E.M的误差估计问题。本文的结果是[1]的推广。  相似文献

在EPIC[2][3],NONSAP[4]等弹塑性撞击动力有限元程序中,有一个共同的弱点是都采取了静力有限元方法,把位移函数用线性插值表示.单元之间应力是非协调的.因此应用虚功原理的基础不合理.为了克服以上困难,本文引入一个新的方法,即协调应力迭代法.实例表明,这种方法在冲击动力有限元计算中是稳定和精确的,同时具有减小单元刚度的作用.  相似文献

Summary. This work extends the results of Arioli [1], [2] on stopping criteria for iterative solution methods for linear finite element problems to the case of nonsymmetric positive-definite problems. We show that the residual measured in the norm induced by the symmetric part of the inverse of the system matrix is relevant to convergence in a finite element context. In this paper we consider two biharmonic problems [13] which will be conventionally indicated as "simply supported" and "clamped plate" problem. We construct a decomposition method [16], [19] related to the partition of the plate in two, or more, subdomains. We carry on the numerical treatment of the method first decoupling these fourth order problems into two second order problems, then discretizing these problems by mixed linear finite element and obtaining an algebraic system. Moreover, we present an iterative block algorithm for solving the foregoing system, which can be efficiently developed on parallel computers.In the end, we extend the method to the respective biharmonic variational inequalities [10].  相似文献

A nonconforming finite element method is described for treating linear equilibrium problems, and a convergence proof showing second order accuracy is given. The close relationship to a related compact finite difference scheme due to Phillips and Rose [1] is examined.
