By using two operators representable by Jacobi matrices, we introduce a family of q-orthogonal polynomials, which turn out to be dual with respect to alternative q-Charlier polynomials. A discrete orthogonality relation and the completeness property for these polynomials are established. __________ Published in Ukrains'kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, Vol. 57, No. 5, pp. 614–621, May, 2005.  相似文献

In this paper, we solve dual and triple sequences involving q-orthogonal polynomials. We also introduce and solve a system of dual series equations when the kernel is the q-Laguerre polynomials. Examples are included.  相似文献

We present an asymmetric q-Painlevé equation. We will derive this using q-orthogonal polynomials with respect to generalized Freud weights: their recurrence coefficients will obey this q-Painlevé equation (up to a simple transformation). We will show a stable method of computing a special solution, which gives the recurrence coefficients. We establish a connection with α-q-PV.  相似文献

A classical result on the expansion of an analytic function in a series of Jacobi polynomials is extended to a class of q-orthogonal polynomials containing the fundamental Askey–Wilson polynomials and their special cases. The function to be expanded has to be analytic inside an ellipse in the complex plane with foci at ±1. Some examples of explicit expansions are discussed.   相似文献

In this paper, we give a characterization of some classical q-orthogonal polynomials in terms of a difference property of the associated Stieltjes function, i.e. this function solves a first-order non-homogeneous q-difference equation. The solutions of the aforementioned q-difference equation (given in terms of hypergeometric series) for some canonical cases, namely, q-Charlier, q-Kravchuk, q-Meixner and q-Hahn, are worked out.  相似文献

Uniform asymptotic formulas are obtained for the Stieltjes-Wigert polynomial, the q−1-Hermite polynomial and the q-Laguerre polynomial as the degree of the polynomial tends to infinity. In these formulas, the q-Airy polynomial, defined by truncating the q-Airy function, plays a significant role. While the standard Airy function, used frequently in the uniform asymptotic formulas for classical orthogonal polynomials, behaves like the exponential function on one side and the trigonometric functions on the other side of an extreme zero, the q-Airy polynomial behaves like the q-Airy function on one side and the q-Theta function on the other side. The last two special functions are involved in the local asymptotic formulas of the q-orthogonal polynomials. It seems therefore reasonable to expect that the q-Airy polynomial will play an important role in the asymptotic theory of the q-orthogonal polynomials.  相似文献

We use the generating functions of some q-orthogonal polynomials to obtain mixed recurrence relations involving polynomials with shifted parameter values. These relations are used to prove interlacing results for the zeros of Al-Salam-Chihara, continuous q-ultraspherical, q-Meixner-Pollaczek and q-Laguerre polynomials of the same or adjacent degree as one of the parameters is shifted by integer values or continuously within a certain range. Numerical examples are given to illustrate situations where the zeros do not interlace.  相似文献

The aim of this paper was to derive new identities and relations associated with the q‐Bernstein polynomials, q‐Frobenius–Euler polynomials, l‐functions, and q‐Stirling numbers of the second kind. We also give some applications related to theses polynomials and numbers. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We present a general survey of some recent developments regarding the construction of compact quantum symmetric spaces and the analysis of their zonal spherical functions in terms of q-orthogonal polynomials. In particular, we define a one-parameter family of two-sided coideals in U q(g(n, )) and express the zonal spherical functions on the corresponding quantum projective spaces as Askey-Wilson polynomials containing two continuous and one discrete parameter. The author acknowledges financial support by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).  相似文献

We develop a tree method for multidimensional q-Hahn polynomials. We define them as eigenfunctions of a multidimensional q-difference operator and we use the factorization of this operator as a key tool. Then we define multidimensional q-Racah polynomials as the connection coefficients between different bases of q-Hahn polynomials. We show that our multidimensional q-Racah polynomials may be expressed as product of ordinary one-dimensional q-Racah polynomial by means of a suitable sequence of transplantations of edges of the trees. Our paper is inspired to the classical tree methods in the theory of Clebsch–Gordan coefficients and of hyperspherical coordinates. It is based on previous work of Dunkl, who considered two-dimensional q-Hahn polynomials. It is also related to a recent paper of Gasper and Rahman: we show that their multidimensional q-Racah polynomials correspond to a particular case of our construction.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the zero distributions of q-shift difference polynomials of meromorphic functions with zero order, and obtain two theorems that extend the classical Hayman results on the zeros of differential polynomials to q-shift difference polynomials. We also investigate the uniqueness problem of q-shift difference polynomials that share a common value.  相似文献

Due to the fact that in the case q > 1 the q-Bernstein polynomials are no longer positive linear operators on C[0, 1], the study of their convergence properties turns out to be essentially more difficult than that for q < 1. In this paper, new saturation theorems related to the convergence of q-Bernstein polynomials in the case q > 1 are proved.  相似文献

Recently, q-Bernstein polynomials have been intensively investigated by a number of authors. Their results show that for q ≠ 1, q-Bernstein polynomials possess of many interesting properties. In this paper, the convergence rate for iterates of both q-Bernstein polynomials and their Boolean sum are estimated. Moreover, the saturation of {Bn(., qn)} when n → ∞ and convergence rate of Bn(f,q;x) when f ∈ C^n-1 [0, 1], q → ∞ are also presented.  相似文献

We introduce operators of q-fractional integration through inverses of the Askey–Wilson operator and use them to introduce a q-fractional calculus. We establish the semigroup property for fractional integrals and fractional derivatives. We study properties of the kernel of q-fractional integral and show how they give rise to a q-analogue of Bernoulli polynomials, which are now polynomials of two variables, x and y. As q→1 the polynomials become polynomials in xy, a convolution kernel in one variable. We also evaluate explicitly a related kernel of a right inverse of the Askey–Wilson operator on an L2 space weighted by the weight function of the Askey–Wilson polynomials.  相似文献

We study Fourier–Bessel series on a q-linear grid, defined as expansions in complete q-orthogonal systems constructed with the third Jackson q-Bessel function, and obtain sufficient conditions for uniform convergence. The convergence results are illustrated with specific examples of expansions in q-Fourier–Bessel series.

In this paper, we give a closed-form expression of the inversion and the connection coefficients for general basic hypergeometric polynomial sets using some known inverse relations. We derive expansion formulas corresponding to all the families within the q-Askey scheme and we connect some d-orthogonal basic hypergeometric polynomials.  相似文献

For little q-Jacobi polynomials and q-Hahn polynomials we give particular q-hypergeometric series representations in which the termwise q = 0 limit can be taken. When rewritten in matrix form, these series representations can be viewed as LU factorizations. We develop a general theory of LU factorizations related to complete systems of orthogonal polynomials with discrete orthogonality relations which admit a dual system of orthogonal polynomials. For the q = 0 orthogonal limit functions we discuss interpretations on p-adic spaces. In the little 0-Jacobi case we also discuss product formulas. In this paper, generalizations of certain q‐integrals are given by the method of q‐difference equation, which involves the Andrews–Askey integral. In addition, some mixed generating functions for generalized Rogers–Szegö polynomials are obtained by the technique of q‐integral. More over, generating functions for generalized Andrews–Askey polynomials are achieved by q‐integral.  相似文献

The explicit form and the three term recurrance relation for all the polynomial solutions in x and q −x from q-operator equations of second order are given. The known 17 q-orthogonal polynomial systems are special cases of 7 comprehensive q-systems.  相似文献
