Waves propagating along the interface between a thin vapor film and a liquid layer in the presence of a heat flux are investigated. The boundary conditions on the vapor-liquid phase surface take into account the temperature dependence of the pressure and the possibilities of formation of the metastable state of the superheated liquid and mass flow. Variations in the saturation pressure as functions of the temperature and mass flux lead to generation of weakly damped periodic waves of low amplitude whose velocity can be much higher than the velocity of the gravity waves. The waves ensure stability of the vapor film beneath the liquid layer in the gravity field. The finite-amplitude waves on the surface of the vapor film differ from the Stokes surface waves on the free surface of isothermal fluid. Instability regimes related with superheating of the liquid ant its explosive boiling when the amplitude of an initially small wave increases to infinity in a finite time can develop in a certain working-parameter regime.  相似文献

A crucial point still to be established in the prediction of the film thickness distribution in horizontal annular two-phase flow is the mechanism(s) for transporting liquid from the bottom to the top part of the tube. To resolve this issue, the time-dependent behaviour of the liquid film is studied. Wave characteristics such as velocity and frequency are measured around the circumference. It is inferred from the autospectral density functions of film thickness variation that disturbance waves play an important, but as yet unclear, role in the formation of a liquid film in the top part of the tube. A new mechanism, based on the shape of disturbance waves is proposed.  相似文献

Thin viscous fluid film flows over rotating curvilinear surfaces are considered. The steady-state flow is studied for large and finite Ekman numbers. The possibility of obtaining a film of given thickness is considered. The wave formation on the surface of an inhomogeneous film and the development of nonlinear waves are also investigated. The film flow parameters in the cases of flow over a plane disk and a curvilinear surface are compared.  相似文献

Experiments on characterization of thin liquid films flowing over stationary and rotating disk surfaces are described. The thin liquid film was created by introducing deionized water from a flow collar at the center of an aluminum disk with a known initial film thickness and uniform radial velocity. Radial film thickness distribution was measured using a non-intrusive laser light interface reflection technique that enabled the measurement of the instantaneous film thickness over a finite segment of the disk. Experiments were performed for a range of flow rates between 3.0 lpm and 15.0 lpm, corresponding to Reynolds numbers based on the liquid inlet gap height and velocity between 238 and 1,188. The angular speed of the disk was varied from 0 rpm to 300 rpm. When the disk was stationary, a circular hydraulic jump was present in the liquid film. The liquid-film thickness in the subcritical region (downstream of the hydraulic jump) was an order of magnitude greater than that in the supercritical region (upstream of the hydraulic jump) which was of the order of 0.3 mm. As the Reynolds number increased, the hydraulic jump migrated toward the edge of the disk. In the case of rotation, the liquid-film thickness exhibited a maximum on the disk surface. The liquid-film inertia and friction influenced the inner region where the film thickness progressively increased. The outer region where the film thickness decreased was primarily affected by the centrifugal forces. A flow visualization study of the thin film was also performed to determine the characteristics of the waves on the free surface. At high rotational speeds, spiral waves were observed on the liquid film. It was also determined that the angle of the waves which form on the liquid surface was a function of the ratio of local radial to tangential velocity.  相似文献

采用球-盘点接触光干涉油膜测量仪观察了不同钢球和盘表面速度夹角下脂润滑的油膜特性. 试验发现,在表面速度异向条件下呈现出与已有定量脂润滑明显不同的两个特征:接触区入口油池的出现和油膜外形非对称性. 其中入口油池的出现使油膜厚度和润滑持续时间得到显著提升,这一发现也证明将经典的乏油边界条件应用于速度异向工况具有局限性;油膜外形的非对称性主要由滑动分量诱发的接触区温度分布不均匀引起,而且非对称性随着速度和角度的增加而变得明显. 表面速度异向条件下两表面上滚道交叉促进润滑剂回填,是入口油池形成的主要机制.   相似文献

高超声速溢流冷却是一种新型的飞行器热防护方法,基本思想为:在高热流区布置溢流孔,控制冷却液以溢流方式流出,之后通过飞行器表面摩阻作用展布为液膜,形成热缓冲层以降低飞行器表面热流. 目前,溢流冷却技术还处于探索阶段,实现工程应用前还需开展大量的实验验证和机理研究工作. 本文首次开展溢流冷却的实验研究工作,采用热流测量、液膜厚度测量及液膜流动特性观测技术,搭建了完善的溢流冷却风洞实验平台,对溢流冷却热防护性能和高超声速条件下液膜流动规律进行了初步研究. 研究表明:(1) 高超声速流场中通过溢流能够在飞行器表面形成液膜并有效隔离外部高温气流,可降低飞行器表面热流率;(2) 楔面上的液膜前缘流动是一个逐渐减速的过程,增加冷却液流量液膜厚度变化不明显,但液膜前缘运动速度增大;(3) 液膜层存在表面波,在时间和空间方向发生演化,导致液膜厚度的微弱扰动;(4) 液膜层存在横向展宽现象,即液膜层宽度大于溢流缝宽度. 原因是液膜层与流场边界层条件不匹配,存在压力梯度,迫使冷却液向低压区流动,从而展宽液膜层,并且流量越高,横向展宽现象越明显.   相似文献

A possible mechanism of formation of kimberlite pipes is considered. It is shown that they could have formed upon impact of a large cosmic body on the Earth in the impact's antipode region during focusing of seismic surface waves. It is established that convergence of a surface wave to the antipode region is accompanied by an increase in the wave amplitude and the wave energy density. Focusing of such a wave results in an almost vertical rupture of the Earth's crust and formation of a channel diverging to the surface — a burst pipe. Along this channel, kimberlite magma, additionally heated by deep focusing of the other waves, rises to the Earth's surface to form a kimberlite pipe. The absence of ideal cylindrical symmetry due to the inhomogeneity of the Earth's crust along the path of wave propagation leads to wave defocusing and formation of several centers of convergence, i.e., formation of a pipe field.  相似文献

We present a study of the damping of capillary-gravity waves in water containing pigments. The practical interest comes from a recent profilometry technique (FTP for Fourier Transform Profilometry) using fringe projection onto the liquid-free surface. This experimental technique requires diffusive reflection of light on the liquid surface, which is usually achieved by adding white pigments. It is shown that the use of most paint pigments causes a large enhancement of the damping of the waves. Indeed, these paints contain surfactants which are easily adsorbed at the air–water interface. The resulting surface film changes the attenuation properties because of the resonance-type damping between capillary-gravity waves and Marangoni waves. We study the physicochemical properties of coloring pigments, showing that particles of the anatase (TiO2) pigment make the water surface light diffusive while avoiding any surface film effects. The use of the chosen particles allows to perform space-time resolved FTP measurements on capillary-gravity waves, in a liquid with the damping properties of pure water.  相似文献

实验首次发现经过酸(5%HCl)处理的玻璃样品表面以及飞片表面粗糙度的变化均对失效液(failure wave)形成的载荷阈值有明显影响。这说明失效波的形成机制与玻璃样品表面固有微裂纹。碰撞瞬间由于样品表面与其内部力学性质差异导致的微裂纹形核、长大等因素有直接关系。从而对进一步研究失效波的萌生机制和建立相关理论模型提供重要的支持。  相似文献

Bag breakup of nonturbulent liquid jets in crossflow   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
An experimental investigation of the bag breakup of round nonturbulent liquid jets in gaseous crossflow at room temperature and pressure is described. Pulsed photography, pulsed shadowgraphy, and high-speed imaging were used to observe the column and surface waves along the liquid jet and the formation and breakup of bags. Measurements included: wavelengths of column and surface waves, jet velocities, the number of bags along the liquid jet, the number of nodes per bag, droplets sizes and velocities, and trajectories of droplets. Present results show that the column waves of a nonturbulent liquid jet in crossflow within bag breakup regime can be explained based on Rayleigh–Taylor instability. The number of nodes per bag affected the breakup mechanism of the bags. Three distinctive sizes of droplets were produced due the breakup of the bag membrane, the ring strings and the ring nodes. The size of the droplets resulting from the breakup of the bag membrane was constant independent of the crossflow Weber number. Finally different trajectories were observed for the three groups of droplets.  相似文献

 The impact of single drops on a thin liquid film was studied to understand the mechanism of secondary atomisation of sprays colliding on a wetted, cold, solid surface. To span a wide range of conditions various mixtures of water and glycerol were used. The use of Weber number, Ohnesorge number and non-dimensional film thickness to describe the peculiarities of the phenomenon allowed to carry out the experiments under appropriate similarity conditions. The impact of millimetric drops was analysed in detail by photographic means, using both still photography to study impact morphology, and laser sheet visualisation to investigate secondary droplet formation. Two mechanisms of splash were identified, depending essentially on the liquid viscosity (Ohnesorge number), a parameter which appears to play an important role also in defining the splash morphology. A photographic documentation is annexed. The characteristic times of the crown formation, the non-linear evolution of cusps (jet formation) and the surface roughness influence are further discussed. The experimental results allow to propose an empirical correlation for the splashing/deposition limit, for a wide range of conditions, and a comparison to available previous works is presented. Experimental results are presented for the growth of surface waves on a liquid film that thins as it flows under gravity over the surface of an upright circular cone. The characteristics of the mean film are calculated on the assumption of quasi-parallel flow, and the actual mean thickness found to relate very closely to that found on this basis. The development of the film was found to fall into three phases: the entry zone in which the velocity profile of the film becomes established where no waves are visible, a region of wave growth in which amplitude, wave speed, and wave length all grow, and a final region in which amplitude and wave speed decline as the film thins further although wave length continues to grow. An empirical relationship is presented which expresses the wave number at any point on the cone in terms of the flow rate and a parameter based on the local Reynolds and Weber numbers and cone angle. It was found that for a given flow rate the maximum wave amplitude was reached at a value of wave number of 0·048.  相似文献

The propagation of surface acoustic waves in a layered half-space is investigated in this paper, where a thin cubic Ge film is perfectly bonded to an isotropic elastic Si half-space. Application of the transfer matrix and by solving the coupled field equations, solutions to the mechanical displacements are obtained for the film and elastic substrate, respectively. The phase velocity equations for surface acoustic waves are obtained. Effects of the homogeneous initial stresses induced by the mismatch of the film and substrate are discussed in detail. The results are useful for the design of acoustic surface wave devices.  相似文献

Evolution of excited waves on a viscous liquid film has been investigated experimentally for the annular gas–liquid flow in a vertical tube. For the first time the dispersion relations are obtained experimentally for linear waves on liquid film surface in the presence of turbulent gas flow. Both cocurrent and countercurrent flow regimes are investigated. As an example of comparison with theory, the experimental data are compared to the results of calculations based on the Benjamin quasi-laminar model for turbulent gas flow. The calculation results are found to be in good agreement with experiments for moderate values of film Reynolds number.  相似文献

以生物油为研究对象,利用乳化技术对生物油进行提质改性,在发动机缸套-活塞环摩擦磨损试验机上考察了提质前后生物油的摩擦学性能.利用表面轮廓仪,扫描电镜与X-射线光电子能谱仪表征了发动机缸套摩擦表面的微观形貌及化学元素状态,探讨了相关的摩擦磨损机理.结果表明:小球藻生物油比稻壳生物油对缸套-活塞环具有更好的减摩抗磨性能;通过乳化提质方法,可以快速提升生物油的性能;生物油的减摩润滑作用归因于油品中的有机物在缸套表面吸附、摩擦挤压及摩擦沉积形成润滑油膜,局部摩擦熔融形成的"微滚珠",以及在摩擦表面生成的Fe2O3及FeOOH氧化膜.此外,小球藻生物油能在摩擦副表面形成含N有机保护膜,这是其具有更好摩擦学性能的重要原因.  相似文献

This paper examines the effects of small upward inclinations on the formation of roll waves and the properties of fully developed roll waves at high pressure conditions. A total of 984 experiments were conducted at six positive pipe inclinations θ = 0.00°, 0.10°, 0.25°, 1.00°, 2.50° and 5.00° using a 25 m long 10 cm i.d. pipe. Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) was used at 8 bara giving a gas density of 50 kg/m3. Two independent mechanisms for the formation of roll waves were identified; (1) interaction between 2D shallow water waves and (2) a visible long wavelength instability of the stratified layer. Viscous long wavelength linear stability analysis predicted the critical liquid flow rate and liquid height for the initiation of roll waves when roll waves were formed due to the second mechanism. A simple equation from shallow water wave theory agreed with measurements for critical liquid flow rate when roll waves were formed due to the first mechanism. Shallow water wave speed agreed with critical wave speeds at transition and nonlinear wave speeds for fully developed roll waves in certain cases. The increase in interfacial friction due to the presence of large waves was compared with models from the literature.  相似文献

Non-linear waves on the surface of a falling film of power-law fluid on a vertical porous plane are investigated. The waves are described by evolution equations generalising equations previously derived in the case of solid plane. It is shown that the slip condition on the interface between pure liquid and the porous substrate drastically changes structure of the steady waves travelling in the film.  相似文献

在磁约束核聚变堆的面对等离子部件设计中,液态金属锂膜流因具有带走杂质、保护面对等离子固壁等优点而被认为是优选方案之一. 然而,如何克服聚变堆中强磁场环境下产生的磁流体力学效应并形成大面积均匀铺展锂膜流动是目前亟需解决的问题.本文通过搭建室温液 态镓铟锡回路和高温液态锂回路,开展了两种不同特性的液态金属膜流实验, 并采用传统可视化方法获得了展向磁场存在时镓铟锡和锂在导电底板形成的液膜流动表面特征.实验结果 表明: 无磁场时,两种液态金属膜流流动表面波动特性与常规流体膜流均一致, 即随着流动雷诺数的增加表面波动变得更为混乱; 而展向磁场存在时,镓铟锡膜流表面波动变得更为规则, 且沿着磁场方向平行排列,表现为拟二维波动的特征; 而锂膜流却产生了明显的磁流体 力学阻力效应,表现为在流动方向局部产生锂滞留现象, 且滞留点随雷诺数增大向下游移动. 最后通过膜流受力分析,进一步阐述了锂膜流受到比镓铟锡膜流更为严重磁流体力学效应影响的原因.   相似文献

We investigate theoretically the effects of viscosity and surface films on small-amplitude Gerstner waves in deep water. The analysis is performed by using a Lagrangian formulation of fluid motion. For inviscid fluids with a free surface Gerstner waves of arbitrary amplitude are exact solutions of the nonlinear Lagrangian equations. These waves have a trochoidal surface shape. They possess vorticity, but have no mean wave momentum, i.e. induce no net drift in the fluid. By expanding the wave motion after the wave steepness as a small parameter, we demonstrate how Gerstner waves to second order in wave steepness change due to viscosity, leading to a mean drift near the surface and a backward drift beneath the surface layer, so that they conserve total (zero) mean wave momentum. In addition, if the surface is covered by a freely floating inextensible film, the mean drift at the surface (the film speed) increases dramatically. A comparison with experimental data for the drift of thin plastic sheets in wave tanks is made, showing that the presence of viscosity-modified Gerstner waves cannot be ruled out on the basis of these observations.  相似文献

Non-linear waves on the surface of a falling film of power-law fluid on a vertical plane are investigated. The waves are described by evolution equations previously derived as a generalization of the model for the Newtonian liquid. This paper presents a numerical bifurcation analysis of the steady travelling waves on a falling film described by an equation containing three parameters. It is shown that the wave regimes are sensitive to the power-law index as well as to the film parameter and the wavenumber that is typical for the Newtonian liquid.  相似文献
