We introduce a new class of functions called weakly clopen function which includes the class of almost clopen functions due to Ekici [Ekici E. Generalization of perfectly continuous, regular set-connected and clopen functions. Acta Math Hungar 2005;107:193–206] and is included in the class of weakly continuous functions due to Levine [Levine N. A decomposition of continuity in topological spaces. Am Math Mon 1961;68:44–6]. Some characterizations and several properties concerning weakly clopenness are obtained. Furthermore, relationships among weak clopenness, almost clopenness, clopenness and weak continuity are investigated.  相似文献

Recently the class of clopen continuous functions between topological spaces has been generalized by the definition of the class of almost clopen continuous functions. The aim of this paper is to reconsider this second class of functions from the perspective of change of topology. Indeed, we show that the concept of almost clopen continuity coincides with the classical notion of continuity provided that suitable changes are made to the topologies of the domain and codomain of the function. We investigate some of the consequences of this situation.  相似文献

Function spaces play an important role in complex analysis, in the theory of differential equations, in functional analysis and in almost every other branch of modern mathematics. In this paper we give and study the notion of clopen convergence. Also, we study the notion of clopen continuity and define new topologies on function spaces. These results generalize basic results of R. Arens, J. Dugundji and A. Di Concilio (see [1], [4], [2] and [3]).  相似文献

In this paper, we give some characterizations of almost completely regular spaces and c-semistratifiable spaces(CSS) by semi-continuous functions. We mainly show that:(1)Let X be a space. Then the following statements are equivalent:(i) X is almost completely regular.(ii) Every two disjoint subsets of X, one of which is compact and the other is regular closed, are completely separated.(iii) If g, h : X → I, g is compact-like, h is normal lower semicontinuous, and g ≤ h, then there exists a continuous function f : X → I such that g ≤ f ≤ h;and(2) Let X be a space. Luzin’s classical theorem states that any measurable function of one variable is “almost” continuous. This is no longer true for measurable functions of several variables. The search for a correct analogue of Luzin’s theorem leads to the notion of virtually continuous functions of several variables. This, probably new, notion appears implicitly in statements such as embedding theorems and trace theorems for Sobolev spaces. In fact, it reveals their nature of being theorems about virtual continuity. This notion is especially useful for the study and classification of measurable functions, as well as in some questions on dynamical systems, polymorphisms, and bistochastic measures. In this work we recall the necessary definitions and properties of admissible metrics, define virtual continuity, and describe some of its applications. This paper is devoted to the study of the role of fuzzy regularly open sets. We prove some properties of fuzzy almost continuous mappings and define fuzzy almost open mappings. We prove that under a fuzzy almost continuous and fuzzy almost open map, the inverse image of a fuzzy regularly open set is fuzzy regularly open. Further we define a new type of fuzzy separation axioms, fuzzy almost separation axioms. It is interesting that there are some deviations in the behaviour of these axioms as compared to those in general topology. For example, in a fuzzy almost T1 space not every fuzzy singleton is δ-closed. Also a fuzzy space which is fuzzy almost as well as fuzzy almost T0 is fuzzy almost regular. While in general topology we have to take an almost T2 space in place of almost T0 space.  相似文献

We establish sufficient conditions for perfect simulation of chains of infinite order on a countable alphabet. The new assumption, localized continuity, is formalized with the help of the notion of context trees, and includes the traditional continuous case, probabilistic context trees and discontinuous kernels. Since our assumptions are more refined than uniform continuity, our algorithms perfectly simulate continuous chains faster than the existing algorithms of the literature. It is shown that the construction of needle variations can be carried out for almost lower semicontinuous differential inclusions rather than for the case of ordinary single-valued continuously differentiable vector fields usually considered in the literature. The construction leads to needle variations whose flows are in general set-valued but still have good differentiability properties. The variations are constructed by using single-valued selections that are not necessarily continuous with respect to the state variable, but have instead a much weaker 'integral continuity' property, somewhat more general that the 'directional continuity' considered in previous work by A. Cambini and S. Querci, A. Pucci, and A. Bressan. The existence of many such selections is proved by slightly adapting an argument due to Bressan, extending it from the lower semicontinuous to the almost lower semicontinuous case, and strengthening it to yield not only directional continuity at all points but also full continuity at a specified point.  相似文献

We introduce the notion ofα, λ-absolute continuity for functions of several variables and we compare it with the Hencl’s definition. We obtain that eachα, λ-absolutely continuous function isn, λ-absolutely continuous in the sense of Hencl and hence is continuous, differentiable almost everywhere and satisfies change of variables results based on a coarea formula and an area formula.  相似文献

In [4], Dlaska introduced the class of almost rc-Lindelöf sets and studied some basic properties of such sets. In this paper, we obtain further results concerning almost rc-Lindelöf sets. We also introduce new concepts to obtain several mapping properties concerning almost rc-Lindelöf sets and almost rc-Lindelöf spaces. The property of being an almost rc-Lindelöf set is invariant under functions which are slightly continuous and weakly θ-irresolute. It is also shown that the property of being an almost rc-Lindelöf space is inverse invariant under functions which are weakly almost open, ω-regular open, and whose fibers are S-sets.  相似文献

We establish new theorems for the composition of pseudo almost periodic and pseudo almost automorphic functions in Banach spaces. Our results extend the recent ones [H. Li, F. Huang and J. Li, Composition of pseudo almost-periodic functions and semilinear differential equations, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 255 (2001), pp. 436–446; J. Liang, J. Zhang, T.J. Xiao, Composition of pseudo almost automorphic and asymptotically almost automorphic functions, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2001), pp. 1493–1499]. We also study some sufficient conditions for the continuity of the superposition operator. As an application to the abstract results, we give some existence theorems of pseudo almost periodic/automorphic solutions for some semilinear evolution equations and examples with the heat equation.  相似文献
