The effects of breakup reactions on elastic and α-production channels for the ~6Li+~(116)Sn system have been investigated at energies below and near the Coulomb barrier. The angular distributions of α-particle production differential cross sections have been obtained at several projectile energies between 22 and 40 MeV. The measured breakup α-particle differential cross sections and elastic scattering angular distributions have been compared with the predictions of continuum-discretized coupled channels(CDCC) calculations. The influence of breakup coupling has also been investigated by extracting dynamic polarization potentials(DPP) from the CDCC calculations. From the predictions of CDCC calculations the relative importance of the nuclear, Coulomb, and total breakup contributions have also been investigated. The nuclear breakup couplings are observed to play an important role in comparison to the Coulomb breakup for the direct breakup mechanisms associated in the reaction of ~6Li projectile with ~(116)Sn target nuclei. The influence of strong nuclear breakup coupling exhibits suppression in the Coulomb-nuclear interference peak. The direct breakup cross sections from the CDCC calculations under-predict the measured α-particle differential cross sections at all energies. This suggests that the measured α particles may also have contributions from other possible breakup reaction channels.  相似文献

The electric giant dipole resonance of 24?26Mg has been explored up to 30 MeV excitation energy with bremsstrahlung. ΔE, E spectra of charged photo-particles and spectra of prompt deexcitation γ-rays from excited residual nuclear states were obtained at various bremsstrahlung endpoint energies. The 25Mg(γ, p0), (γ, d), 24,25Mg(γ, α) differential cross sections as well as 24?26Mg(γ, ′) integrated cross sections are presented. The results are discussed in terms of one-particle, one-hole excitations and isospin composition of giant resonance states. A comparison with calculations for 24Mg gives poor agreement. Excitations from deeper shells were found in the giant dipole resonance of 24Mg, but do not seem to be concentrated at higher energies. In 25Mg, only weak excitations of this kind were found, and they are completely absent in 26Mg.  相似文献

Absolute electrofission cross sections for238U and232Th in the energy regionE e =7 ?65 MeV and fission fragment angular distributions forE e =7–30 MeV have been measured. The angular distributions show strong anisotropies for low energies. The relative dipole and quadrupole contributions as a function of excitation energy are discussed in terms of the low lying fission transition states above the fission barriers. The cross sections show significant deviations from the results of some earlier measurements, in particular in the energy region above the giant dipole resonance. From the difficulties of absolute electrofission cross section measurements and the ambiguities in their interpretation it is concluded that by this time the quantitative analysis of electrofission cross sections with respect to the contributions of the giant quadrupole resonances to the fission decay channel should be regarded as rather tentative.  相似文献

Absolute nuclear photon absorption cross sections have been measured for the elements Li, Be, C, O, Al, Si and Ca from 10 MeV up to photon energies beyond the meson production threshold. Magnetic Compton spectrometers and a bremsstrahlung spectrum with fixed end-point energy were used. The cross sections show structure in the region of the giant resonance and fall off smoothly towards higher energies. In the giant resonance region recent 1p-1h calculations are in poor agreement with these measurements except for one calculation for carbon, which included low lying excited states of the residual mass-11 system. The cross section in the intermediate region (40 to 140 MeV) can be described by the quasideuteron model with the density of deuteron-like structures taken as 8 NZ/A. The moments of the measured cross sections are compared with sum rule predictions. The integrated cross sections from 10 MeV up to the meson production threshold (140 MeV) exceed the classical dipole sum by a factor of 1.4 to 2.  相似文献

We report the results on the electromagnetic dissociation of 14.5A GeV28Si and 200A GeV16O projectiles in nuclear emulsion. The overall charge changing production cross sections are determined experimentally and are found to agree reasonably well with those computed theoretically. The relative rate as a function of decay energy for various reaction channels are parameterized in terms of an exponential function. Majority of the events in the most prominent decay modes can be attributed to the excitation of giant dipole resonances. Multiplicity distributions of α particles emerged from nuclear as well as electromagnetic interactions are also investigated.  相似文献

The electromagnetic cross sections of the double giant dipole resonances (DGDR) in 136Xe and 208Pb are calculated using the strength functions obtained within the phonon damping model. The parameters of the model have been selected to describe reasonably well the single giant dipole resonance in these nuclei. The results are found in an overall agreement with the recent experimental data for the DGDR cross sections in exclusive measurements at near-relativistic energies.  相似文献

We have studied the He2+-Li collision system at laboratory energies between 15 and 150 keV using optical methods. From the measured emission cross sections we derive state-selective capture cross sections for n = 2,3,4 and n ? 5 states of the He+ ions. Our data are consistent with theoretical predictions of Bransden and Ermolaev. The total capture cross sections as evaluated from our emission cross section data, agree very well with the results of McCullough et al. obtained from projectile charge detection measurements. Near 15 keV our emission cross sections for 30.4 nm and 25.6 nm are much larger than those measured previously by Barrett and Leventhal at slightly lower energies.  相似文献

Earlier work has shown how information about the giant dipole resonance and proton hole states can be inferred from high resolution photoproton spectra obtained in irradiation with the 17.62 MeV gamma quanta produced by the7Li(p, γ)8Be-reaction. To exploit this method the high energy photoproton spectra from45Sc,51V,59Co,58Ni,63Cu and natural nickel have been measured with 60–120 keV resolution. The absolute cross sections for transitions to levels in the daughter nucleus have been determined. The results are compared with a simple model assuming a semidirect reaction proceeding via a dipole doorway state. Good correlation is found between the cross sections and the spectroscopic factors measured in proton pick-up reactions. Comparison with the total photoproton cross section for58Ni indicates, however, that the majority of protons are emitted at lower energies from more complicated states.  相似文献

Abstract

Emission spectra of HgBr (B-X) band system and atomic mercury lines have been observed during collisions involving HgBr2 and He2 + ions at different laboratory kinetic energies. Emission cross sections of the most intense band of the HgBr (B, v′=O ? X, v″=22) transition have been measured at different energies of the projectile ions.  相似文献

Cross section ratios for K- and L-shell ionization of thin silver and gold targets by positron and electron impact have been determined at projectile energies of 30–70 keV. The experimental results are confirmed by calculations in plane wave Born approximation (PWBA) which include an electron exchange term and account for the deceleration or acceleration of the incident projectile in the nuclear field of the target atom. We report first absolute cross sections for K- and L-shell ionization of silver and gold targets by lepton impact in the threshold region. We have measured the corresponding cross sections for electron (e) impact with an electron gun and the same experimental set-up.  相似文献

Spectra and angular distributions have been measured for the light particles emitted from the reactions induced by 36 MeV 6Li and 7Li ions on targets of 12C, 13C and 27Al. Some measurements were also performed at beam energies of 28 and 32 MeV. The spectra are dominated by broad peaks centered at energies corresponding to the beam velocity, a characteristic of projectile breakup. A simple breakup model roughly reproduces the shapes of the measured spectra and angular distributions. The total cross sections observed for projectile breakup average about 600 mb and are almost as large as the fusion cross sections. The 7Li breakup yields are somewhat larger than those for 6Li, the same trend that was previously observed for the Li-induced fusion cross sections on C. As a result the measured total reaction cross sections induced by 7Li ions are about 200 mb larger than those of 6Li on the same targets. This difference is not predicted by conventional optical model calculations.  相似文献

We used CR39 plastic nuclear track detectors (C12H18O7) in combination with automatic track measurement techniques to determine total charge changing and partial cross sections for the production of fragments of chargeZ F =6 toZ F =15 in collisions of32S beam nuclei at energies of 0.7, 1.2 and 200 GeV/nucleon in targets H, C, CR39, CH2, Al, Cu, Ag and Pb. By application of factorization rules measured partial cross sections are separated into pure nuclear and electromagnetic components. Total and partial cross sections for electromagnetic dissociation are compared with theoretical models. The energy dependence of pure nuclear cross sections is investigated.  相似文献

The isotopic cross sections of residual nuclei produced in fragmentation reactions of 18O projectiles impinging on a carbon target at energies near 260 MeV/nucleon were measured at the HIRFL facility in Lanzhou (China). A full identification of atomic and mass numbers of fragments was achieved from the determination of their magnetic rigidity, energy loss, and time of flight. The production cross sections for a dozen of nitrogen, carbon, and boron isotopes were determined with uncertainties below 30% for most of the cases. The obtained cross sections for N and B isotopes show a rather good agreement with previous experimental data obtained with different projectile energies. The cross sections for some C isotopes seem to exhibit a dependence on the projectile energy. A comparison of the data and several theoretical model calculations are presented.  相似文献

The total charge-changing cross sections and the partial cross sections of 56Fe fragmentation on polyethylene, carbon and aluminum targets at the highest energy of 496 A MeV are investigated using CR-39 plastic nuclear track detector. The total charge-changing cross-section for hydrogen target is calculated based on the results of polyethylene and carbon targets. It is found that the total charge-changing cross sections for fragmentation of 56Fe on hydrogen, carbon and aluminum targets are independent on the beam energy in our studied energies, and are consistent with the predictions of Bradt–Peter semi-empirical formula, Nilsen parameterized formula, NUCFRG2 and QMSFRG theoretical simulation codes. The partial cross sections for projectile fragment production are independent on beam energy in our studied energies for each targets and do not show a significant even-odd effect.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for electromagnetic fission of 238U projectiles (500 MeV/u) in C, Sn, and Pb targets are measured and analyzed in terms of single- and multiphonon giant resonance excitations as doorway states to fission. A novel experimental method exploits the linear relationship between neutron multiplicity and the primary 238U excitation energy. Multiphonon states contribute up to 20% of the cross section; a component at high excitation energies is indicated that may arise from three-phonon dipole and two-phonon GDR x GQRiv giant resonance excitations.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for elastic and Raman scattering of photons from 232Th and 238U targets were measured. Eight photon energies in the range 7.9–11.4 MeV were used and were obtained from thermal neutron capture in Fe, Cr, Cu and Ni. The angular distribution of the elastic and Raman scattered radiation from 232Th was measured. The results are compared with calculations of the simple rotator model and the dynamical collective model of the giant dipole resonance after incorporating the effect of Delbruck scattering.  相似文献

The giant dipole resonance built on excited states was observed in very fissile nuclei in coincidence with evaporation residues. The reaction 48Ca + 176Yb populated evaporation residues of mass A=213–220 with a cross section of 200 μb at 259 MeV. The extracted giant dipole resonance parameters are in agreement with theoretical predictions for this mass region.  相似文献
