Karplus-type equations are derived for the variation of one-bond X-Y coupling constants 1J(X-Y) as a function of dihedral angle for molecules HmX-YHn, for X, Y, = 15N, 17O, 31P, and 33S. Coupling constants were obtained from ab initio EOM-CCSD calculations, with all terms evaluated. The relative orientation of lone pairs appears to be a primary factor determining the dependence of 1J(X-Y) on the dihedral angle.  相似文献

In a previous paper (Hermosilla, L.; Calle, P.; Garcia de la Vega, J. M.; Sieiro, C. J. Phys. Chem. A 2005, 109, 1114), an adequate computational protocol for the calculation of isotropic hyperfine coupling constants (hfcc's) was proposed. The main conclusion concerns the reliability of the scheme B3LYP/TZVP//B3LYP/6-31G* in the predictions of hfcc's with low computational cost. In the present study, we gain insight into the behavior of the above functional/basis set scheme on nuclei of the third row, for which few systematic studies have been carried out up to the present date. The systems studied are neutral, cationic, anionic, localized, and conjugated radicals, containing (29)Si, (31)P, and (33)S nuclei. After carrying out a regression analysis, we conclude that density functional theory (DFT) predictions on the hfcc's of the third-row nuclei are reliable for B3LYP/TZVP by using an optimized geometry with B3LYP/6-31G* combination. By comparison with other much more computationally demanding schemes, namely, B3LYP/cc-pVTZ and B3LYP/cc-pVQZ, we conclude that the B3LYP functional in conjunction with the TZVP basis set is the most useful computational protocol for the assignment of experimental hfcc's, not only for nuclei of first and second rows, but also for those of the third row.  相似文献

Equation-of-motion coupled cluster singles and doubles (EOM-CCSD) calculations have been performed to evaluate three-bond (15)N-(31)P coupling constants ((3h)J(N[bond]P)) across N[bond]H....O[bond]P hydrogen bonds in model cationic and anionic complexes including NH(4)(+):OPH, NH(4)(+):OPH(3), NH(3):(-)O(2)PH(2), NFH(2):(-)O(2)PH(2), and NF(2)H:(-)O(2)PH(2). Three-bond coupling constants can be appreciable when the phosphorus is P(V), but are negligible with P(III). (3h)J(N[bond]P) values in complexes with cyclic or open structures are less than 1 Hz, a consequence of the nonlinear arrangement of N, H, O, and P atoms. For complexes with these structures, (3h)J(N[bond]P) may not be experimentally measurable. In contrast, complexes in which the N, H, O, and P atoms are collinear or nearly collinear have larger values of (3h)J(N[bond]P), even though the N[bond]P distances are longer than N[bond]P distances in cyclic and open structures. In linear complexes, (3h)J(N[bond]P) is dominated by the Fermi-contact term, which is distance dependent. Therefore, N[bond]P (and hydrogen-bonding N[bond]O) distances in these complexes can be determined from experimentally measured (15)N-(31)P coupling constants.  相似文献

Cyclohexane (1), oxygen-, sulfur-, and/or nitrogen-containing six-membered heterocycles 2-5, cyclohexanone (6), and cyclohexanone derivatives 7-16 were studied theoretically [B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and PP/IGLO-III//B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) methods] to determine the structural (in particular C-H bond distances) and spectroscopic (specifically, one bond (1)J(C-H) NMR coupling constants) consequences of stereoelectronic hyperconjugative effects. The results confirm the importance of n(X) --> sigma*(C-H)(app) (where X = O, N), sigma(C-H)(ax) --> pi*(C=O), sigma(S-C) --> sigma*(C-H)(app), sigma(C-S)-->sigma*(C-H)(app), beta-n(O) --> sigma*(C-H), and sigma(C-H) --> sigma*(C-H)(app) hyperconjugation, as advanced in previous theoretical models. Calculated r(C-H) bond lengths and (1)J(C-H) coupling constants for C-H bonds participating in more than one hyperconjugative interaction show additivity of the effects.  相似文献

Ab initio equation-of-motion coupled cluster (EOM-CCSD) one-bond spin-spin coupling constants (1)J(B-N), (1)J(B-H), and (1)J(B-F) have been evaluated for complexes X:BH(n)F(3-n) with X = N(2), NCH, NCLi, H(2)CNH, NF(3), and NH(3), for n = 0-3. These complexes can be classified as either covalent or van der Waals complexes, on the basis of their binding energies and B-N distances. (1)J(B-N) for covalent complexes varies significantly from -19 to +9 Hz, whereas (1)J(B-N) is less than 2 Hz for van der Waals complexes. An absolute value of (1)J(B-N) of 3 Hz or greater indicates that the complex is covalently bonded, but a small value of this coupling constant does not necessarily mean that it is a van der Waals complex, in view of the variation among these complexes found for (1)J(B-N) as a function of the B-N distance. Deformation of the boron acid upon complex formation and electron donation by the nitrogen base has opposing effects on both (1)J(B-H) and (1)J(B-F). These effects are relatively small in van der Waals complexes. In covalent complexes, electron donation has the dominant effect on (1)J(B-H), and on (1)J(B-F) in complexes with BH(2)F and BHF(2), but acid deformation has the dominant effect on (1)J(B-F) in complexes with BF(3). Values of both (1)J(B-H) and (1)J(B-F) reflect the van der Waals or covalent nature of the B-N bond.  相似文献

The preferred conformation of aminophosphanes with bulky amino groups ( 1–20 ) was determined by NMR spectroscopy in solution, in two cases in the solid state ( 11,17 ) and in one case ( 11 ) by X‐ray crystallography. Trimethylsilylaminodiphenylphosphanes Ph2PN(R)SiMe3 (R = Bu ( 1 ), Ph ( 2 ), 2‐pyridyl ( 3 ), 2‐pyrimidyl ( 4 ), Me3Si ( 5 )), amino(chloro)phenylphosphanes Ph(Cl)PNRR′ (R = Bz, R′ = Me ( 6 ), R = Bz, R′ = tBu ( 7 ), R = Et, R′ = Ph ( 8 )), amino(chloro)tert‐butylphosphanes tBu(Cl)PNRR′ (R = R′ = iPr ( 9 ), R = Me, R′ = tBu ( 10 ), R = Bz, R′ = tBu ( 11 ), R = H, R′ = tBu ( 12 ), R = Et, R′ = Ph ( 13 ), R = iPr, R′ = Ph ( 14 ), R = Bu, R′ = Ph ( 15 ), R = Bz, R′ = Ph ( 16 ), R = R′ = Ph ( 17 ), R = R′ = Me3Si ( 18 )), 3‐tert‐butyl‐2‐chloro‐1,3,2‐oxazaphospholane ( 19 ), and benzyl(tert‐butyl)aminodichlorophosphane ( 20 ) were studied by 1H, 13C, 15N, 29Si, and 31P NMR spectroscopy. In all cases, the more bulky substituent at the nitrogen atom prefers the syn‐position with respect to the assumed orientation of the phosphorus lone pair of electrons. Many of the derivatives studied adopt this preferred conformation even at room temperature. Numerous signs of coupling constants 1J(31P, 15N), 2J(31P, 13C), and 2J(31P, 29Si) were determined. Low temperature NMR spectra were measured for derivatives for which rotation about the P N bond at room temperature is fast, showing the presence of two rotamers at low temperature. The respective conformation of these rotamers could be assigned by 13C, 15N, and 31P NMR spectroscopy. Isotope‐induced chemical shifts 1Δ15/14N(31P) were determined for all compounds at natural abundance of 15N by using Hahn‐echo extended polarization transfer experiments. The molecular structure of 11 in the solid state reveals pyramidal surroundings of the nitrogen atom and mutual trans‐positions of the tert‐butyl groups at phosphorus and nitrogen. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The 31P? 31P and 13C? 31P coupling constants in 1,6-diphosphatriptycene have been obtained from analysis of its proton decoupled 13C n.m.r. spectra. More accurate data, however, resulted from simultaneous analysis of the proton decoupled 13C spectra and 31P(13C) satellite spectra. The 13C? 31P couplings are strongly influenced by the proximity and orientation of the phosphorus lone pair electrons. The first 31P? 31P coupling in an aromatic diphosphine is reported.  相似文献

We have tested several computational protocols, at the nonrelativistic DFT level of theory, for the calculation of 1J(119Sn, 13C) and 2J(119Sn, 1H) spin-spin coupling constants in di- and trimethyltin(IV) derivatives with various ligands. Quite a good agreement with experimental data has been found with several hybrid functionals and a double-zeta basis set for a set of molecules comprising tetra-, penta-, and hexa-coordinated tin(IV). Then, some of the protocols have been applied to the calculation of the 2J(119Sn, 1H) of the aquodimethyltin(IV) ion and dimethyltin(IV) complex with D-ribonic acid and to the calculation of 1J(119Sn, 13C) and 2J(119Sn, 1H) of the dimethyltin(IV)-glycylglycine and glycylhistidine complexes in water solutions. Solvent effects have been considered in these cases by including explicit water molecules and/or the solvent reaction field, resulting in a good agreement with experimental data. The proposed protocols constitute a helpful tool for the structural determination of di- and triorganotin(IV) derivatives.  相似文献

1,2-Difluoroethane is widely recognised to adopt a lower energy gauche rather than anti conformation; this gauche effect has its origin in hyperconjugation; however, surprisingly the (1)J(CF) coupling constant is not influenced by hyperconjugation; instead, its magnitude changes with the overall molecular dipole.  相似文献

The characteristic dependence of J(31P,31P) spin-spin coupling constants of alkali metal tetraphosphane-1,4-diides on structure and composition has been analyzed by density functional methods. The computations confirm that the structure of the contact ion pairs is conserved in solution. Calculations on model systems M2P4H4, on naked P4H4(2-) anions, and on models including point charges, show that the role of the cations is mainly structural and to a smaller extent electrostatic. Three of the four J(P,P) coupling constants depend characteristically on the conformation of the anion, which in turn is determined by the substituents R and by cation-anion interactions. Several couplings exhibit a large through-space component and are thus strongly dependent on the relative orientation of nonbonding electron pairs on the phosphorus atoms involved. This is shown by visualization of coupling pathways using the recently introduced coupling energy density (CED), in combination with the electron localization function (ELF).  相似文献

Theoretical examination [B3LYP/6-31G(d,p), PP/IGLO-III//B3LYP/6-31G(d,p), and NBO methods] of six-membered cyclohexane 1 and carbonyl-, thiocarbonyl-, or methylidene-containing derivatives 2-27 afforded precise structural (in particular, C-H bond distances) and spectroscopic (specifically, one-bond (1)J(C)(-)(H) NMR coupling constants) data that show the consequences of stereoelectronic hyperconjugative effects in these systems. Major observations include the following. (1) sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() -->(C)(=)(Y) and pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() (Y = O, S, or CH(2)) hyperconjugation leads to a shortening (strengthening) of the equatorial C-H bonds adjacent to the pi group. This effect is reflected in smaller (1)J(C)(-)(H)(ax)() coupling constants relative to (1)J(C)(-)(H)(eq)(). (2) Comparison of the structural and spectroscopic consequences of sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y) hyperconjugation in cyclohexanone 2, thiocyclohexanone 3, and methylenecyclohexane 4 suggests a relative order of acceptor orbital ability C=S > C=O > C=CH(2), which is in line with available pK(a) data. (3) Analysis of the structural and spectroscopic data gathered for heterocyclic derivatives 5-12 reveals some additivity of sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y), pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)(), n(X) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)(), n(beta)(O) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(eq)(), and sigma(S)(-)(C) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(eq)() stereoelectronic effects that is, nevertheless, attenuated by saturation effects. (4) Modulation of the C=Y acceptor character of the exocyclic pigroup by conjugation with alpha-heteroatoms O, N, and S in lactones, lactams, and methylidenic analogues 13-24 results in decreased sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y) and pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() hyperconjugation. (5) Additivity of sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y) and pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() hyperconjugative effects is also apparent in 1,3-dicarbonyl derivative 25 (C=Y equal to C=O), 1,3-dithiocarbonyl derivative 26 (C=Y equal to C=S), and 1,3-dimethylidenic analogue 27 (C=Y equal to C=CH(2)).  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical methods have been used to correlate (2)J(HH) and (3)J(HH) values within the exocyclic hydroxymethyl groups (CH(2)OH) of saccharides with specific molecular parameters, and new equations are proposed to assist in the structural interpretation of these couplings. (3)J(HH) depends mainly on the C-C torsion angle (omega) as expected, and new Karplus equations derived from J-couplings computed from density functional theory (DFT) in a model aldopyranosyl ring are in excellent agreement with experimental values and with couplings predicted from a previously reported general Karplus equation. These results confirm the reliability of DFT-calculated (1)H-(1)H couplings in saccharides. (2)J(HH) values depend on both the C-C (omega) and C-O (theta) torsions. Knowledge of the former, which may be derived from other parameters (e.g., (3)J(HH)), allows theta to be evaluated indirectly from (2)J(HH). This latter approach complements more direct determinations of theta from (3)J(HCOH) and potentially extends these more conventional analyses to O-substituted systems lacking the hydroxyl proton. (1)J(CH) values within hydroxymethyl fragments were also examined and found to depend on r(CH), which is modulated by specific bond orientation and stereoelectronic factors. These latter factors could be largely, but not completely, accounted for by C-C and C-O torsional variables, leading to only semiquantitative treatments of these couplings (details discussed in the Supporting Information). New equations pertaining to (2)J(HH) and (3)J(HH) have been applied to the analysis of hydroxymethyl group J-couplings in several mono- and oligosaccharides, yielding information on C5-C6 and/or C6-O6 rotamer populations.  相似文献

Ab initio molecular orbital theory is applied to the study of P? O and P? S bonding in the hypervalent phosphinic (H2POOH), phosphinothioic (H2POSH), and phosphinodithioic (H2PSSH) acid molecules. Intramolecular proton exchange reactions are followed using the intrinsic reaction coordinate and Self-Consistent-Field energy localized orbitals. The P? O and PS bonds are characterized via force constants, phosphorus d orbital populations, and localized orbitals and are best described as either normal single bonds or dative bonds augmented by π back donation from the oxygen or sulfur lone pairs. The anions of these acids are also investigated, and they are found to contain only dative bonds to sulfur and oxygen.  相似文献

In the course of the basic hydrolysis of four eremophilane esters isolated from Robinsonecio gerberifolius, some rearrangements, eliminations, and additions occurred. Five compounds were obtained, three of them not previously described. Additionally, a new sesquiterpene was produced by autooxidation of compound 1. The (1)H and (13)C NMR spectra of these compounds were completely assigned by utilization of HMQC, HMBC, COSY, DEPT, and NOESY techniques. The long-range coupling constants of the peroxide 10 are reported, and all its coupling constants (2)J(H, H), (3)J(H, H), and (4)J(H, H) are calculated at the B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) level of theory. Their magnitude is explained in terms of electronic delocalization and the additivity of stereoelectronic effects.  相似文献

The molecular dipole moments, their derivatives, and the fundamental IR intensities of the X2CY (X = H, F, Cl; Y = O, S) molecules are determined from QTAIM atomic charges and dipoles and their fluxes at the MP2/6-311++G(3d,3p) level. Root-mean-square errors of +/-0.03 D and +/-1.4 km mol(-1) are found for the molecular dipole moments and fundamental IR intensities calculated using quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) parameters when compared with those obtained directly from the MP2/6-311++G(3d,3p) calculations and +/-0.05 D and 51.2 km mol(-1) when compared with the experimental values. Charge (C), charge flux (CF), and dipole flux (DF) contributions are reported for all the normal vibrations of these molecules. A large negative correlation coefficient of -0.83 is calculated between the charge flux and dipole flux contributions and indicates that electronic charge transfer from one side of the molecule to the other during vibrations is accompanied by a relaxation effect with electron density polarization in the opposite direction. The characteristic substituent effect that has been observed for experimental infrared intensity parameters and core electron ionization energies has been applied to the CCFDF/QTAIM parameters of F2CO, Cl2CO, F2CS, and Cl2CS. The individual atomic charge, atomic charge flux, and atomic dipole flux contributions are seen to obey the characteristic substituent effect equation just as accurately as the total dipole moment derivative. The CH, CF, and CCl stretching normal modes of these molecules are shown to have characteristic sets of charge, charge flux, and dipole flux contributions.  相似文献
