Let be a strictly pseudoconvex bounded domain in with C 2 boundary . If a subnormal m-tuple T of Hilbert space operators has the spectral measure of its minimal normal extension N supported on , then T is referred to as a -isometry. Using some non-trivial approximation theorems in the theory of several complex variables, we establish a commutant lifting theorem for those -isometries whose (joint) Taylor spectra are contained in a special superdomain Ω of . Further, we provide a function-theoretic characterization of those subnormal tuples whose Taylor spectra are contained in Ω and that are quasisimilar to a certain (fixed) -isometry T (of which the multiplication tuple on the Hardy space of the unit ball in is a rather special example). We study an integrable, nondegenerate codimension 3-subbundle ${\mathcal{D}}We study an integrable, nondegenerate codimension 3-subbundle on a (4n + 3)-manifold M whose fiber supports the structure of 4n-dimensional quaternionic vector space. It is thought of as a generalization of quaternionic CR structure. We single out an -valued 1-form ω locally on a neighborhood U such that and construct the curvature invariant on (M, ω) whose vanishing gives a uniformization to flat quaternionic CR geometry. The invariant obtained on M has the same formula as that of pseudo-quaternionic K?hler 4n-manifolds. From this viewpoint, we exhibit a quaternionic analogue of Chern-Moser’s CR structure. Let A be an elliptic operator on a compact manifold with boundary , and let be a covering map, where Y is a closed manifold. Let A C be a realization of A subject to a coupling condition C that is elliptic with parameter in the sector Λ. By a coupling condition we mean a nonlocal boundary condition that respects the covering structure of the boundary. We prove that the resolvent trace for N sufficiently large has a complete asymptotic expansion as . The C*-subalgebra of generated by all multiplication operators by slowly oscillating and piecewise continuous functions, by the Cauchy singular integral operator and by the range of a unitary representation of an amenable group of diffeomorphisms with any nonempty set of common fixed points is studied. A symbol calculus for the C*-algebra and a Fredholm criterion for its elements are obtained. For the C*-algebra composed by all functional operators in , an invertibility criterion for its elements is also established. Both the C*-algebras and are investigated by using a generalization of the local-trajectory method for C*-algebras associated with C*-dynamical systems which is based on the notion of spectral measure. We study the distribution of closed geodesics on nilmanifolds Γ \ N arising from a 2-step nilpotent Lie algebra constructed from an irreducible representation of a compact semisimple Lie algebra on a real finite dimensional vector space U. Via an integral transformation, we establish two embedding results between the Emden-Fowler type equation , tt 0 > 0, with solutions x such that as , , and the equation , u > 0, with solutions y such that for given k > 0. The conclusions of our investigation are used to derive conditions for the existence of radial solutions to the elliptic equation , , that blow up as in the two dimensional case.   相似文献

It has been known for a long time that the Deligne–Lusztig curves associated to the algebraic groups of type and defined over the finite field all have the maximum number of -rational points allowed by the Weil “explicit formulas”, and that these curves are -maximal curves over infinitely many algebraic extensions of . Serre showed that an -rational curve which is -covered by an -maximal curve is also -maximal. This has posed the problem of the existence of -maximal curves other than the Deligne–Lusztig curves and their -subcovers, see for instance Garcia (On curves with many rational points over finite fields. In: Finite Fields with Applications to Coding Theory, Cryptography and Related Areas, pp. 152–163. Springer, Berlin, 2002) and Garcia and Stichtenoth (A maximal curve which is not a Galois subcover of the Hermitan curve. Bull. Braz. Math. Soc. (N.S.) 37, 139–152, 2006). In this paper, a positive answer to this problem is obtained. For every q = n 3 with n = p r  > 2, p ≥ 2 prime, we give a simple, explicit construction of an -maximal curve that is not -covered by any -maximal Deligne–Lusztig curve. Furthermore, the -automorphism group Aut has size n 3(n 3 + 1)(n 2 − 1)(n 2 − n + 1). Interestingly, has a very large -automorphism group with respect to its genus . Let S be an infinite set of rational primes and, for some pS, let be the compositum of all extensions unramified outside S of the form , for . We provide a wide family of elliptic curves such that the rank of is infinite for all n ≥ 0 and all , subject to the parity conjecture. Similarly, let be a polarized abelian variety, let K be a quadratic number field fixed by , let S be an infinite set of primes of and let be the maximal abelian p-elementary extension of K unramified outside primes of K lying over S and dihedral over . We show that, under certain hypotheses, the -corank of sel p ∞(A/F) is unbounded over finite extensions F/K contained in . As a consequence, we prove a strengthened version of a conjecture of M. In this paper, we study existence of nontrivial solutions to the elliptic equation
and to the elliptic system
where Ω is a bounded domain in with smooth boundary ∂Ω, , f (x, 0) = 0, with m ≥ 2 and . Nontrivial solutions are obtained in the case in which the nonlinearities have linear growth. That is, for some c > 0, for and , and for and , where I m is the m × m identity matrix. In sharp contrast to the existing results in the literature, we do not make any assumptions at infinity on the asymptotic behaviors of the nonlinearity f and . Z. We show a sufficient condition for a domain in to be a H -domain of holomorphy. Furthermore if a domain has the Gleason property at a point and the projection of the n − 1th order generalized Shilov boundary does not coincide with Ω then is schlicht. We also give two examples of pseudoconvex domains in which the spectrum is non-schlicht and satisfy several other interesting properties.   相似文献

Let X1 and X2 be subspaces of quotients of R OH and C OH respectively. We use new free probability techniques to construct a completely isomorphic embedding of the Haagerup tensor product into the predual of a sufficiently large QWEP von Neumann algebra. As an immediate application, given any 1 < q ≤ 2, our result produces a completely isomorphic embedding of (equipped with its natural operator space structure) into with a QWEP von Neumann algebra. In this paper, we introduce the notion of -decomposability of probability density functions in one dimension. Using -decomposability, we derive an inequality that applies to all symmetric unimodal densities. Our inequality involves only the standard deviation of the densities concerned. The concept of -decomposability can be used as a non-parametric criterion for mode-finding and cluster analysis.  相似文献

It is shown that an elliptic scattering operator A on a compact manifold with boundary with operator valued coefficients in the morphisms of a bundle of Banach spaces of class () and Pisier’s property (α) has maximal regularity (up to a spectral shift), provided that the spectrum of the principal symbol of A on the scattering cotangent bundle avoids the right half-plane. This is accomplished by representing the resolvent in terms of pseudodifferential operators with -bounded symbols, yielding by an iteration argument the -boundedness of λ(A−λ)−1 in for some . To this end, elements of a symbolic and operator calculus of pseudodifferential operators with -bounded symbols are introduced. The significance of this method for proving maximal regularity results for partial differential operators is underscored by considering also a more elementary situation of anisotropic elliptic operators on with operator valued coefficients.  相似文献

Let be a finitely generated group and X its Cayley graph with respect to a finite, symmetric generating set S. Furthermore, let be a finite group and the lamplighter group (wreath product) over with group of “lamps” . We show that the spectral measure (Plancherel measure) of any symmetric “switch–walk–switch” random walk on coincides with the expected spectral measure (integrated density of states) of the random walk with absorbing boundary on the cluster of the group identity for Bernoulli site percolation on X with parameter . The return probabilities of the lamplighter random walk coincide with the expected (annealed) return probabilities on the percolation cluster. In particular, if the clusters of percolation with parameter are almost surely finite then the spectrum of the lamplighter group is pure point. This generalizes results of Grigorchuk and Żuk, resp. Dicks and Schick regarding the case when is infinite cyclic. Analogous results relate bond percolation with another lamplighter random walk. In general, the integrated density of states of site (or bond) percolation with arbitrary parameter is always related with the Plancherel measure of a convolution operator by a signed measure on , where or another suitable group.
