A tempered stable Lévy process combines both the αα-stable and Gaussian trends. In a short time frame it is close to an αα-stable process while in a long time frame it approximates a Brownian motion. In this paper we consider a general and robust class of multivariate tempered stable distributions and establish their identifiable parametrization. We prove short and long time behavior of tempered stable Lévy processes and investigate their absolute continuity with respect to the underlying αα-stable processes. We find probabilistic representations of tempered stable processes which specifically show how such processes are obtained by cutting (tempering) jumps of stable processes. These representations exhibit αα-stable and Gaussian tendencies in tempered stable processes and thus give probabilistic intuition for their study. Such representations can also be used for simulation. We also develop the corresponding representations for Ornstein–Uhlenbeck-type processes.  相似文献

We prove existence and uniqueness of a weak solution to this system. The approach of this paper uses the martingale problem method. For this, we establish some estimates for pseudodifferential operators with singular state-dependent symbols. Let λ2 > λ1 > 0. We show that for any two vectors a, b∈ ℝd with |a|, |b| ∈ (λ1, λ2) and p sufficiently large, the Lp-norm of the operator whose Fourier multiplier is (|u · a|α - |u · b|α) / ∑j=1d |ui|α is bounded by a constant multiple of |ab|θ for some θ > 0, where u=(u1 , . . . , ud) ∈ ℝd. We deduce from this the Lp-boundedness of pseudodifferential operators with symbols of the form ψ(x,u)=|u · a(x)|α / ∑j=1d |ui|α, where u=(u1,...,ud) and a is a continuous function on ℝd with |a(x)|∈ (λ1, λ2) for all x∈ ℝd. Regenerative processes were defined and investigated by Smith [12]. These processes have limiting distributions under very mild regularity conditions. In certain applications, such as shot-noise processes and some queueing problems, it is of interest to consider path-functionals of regenerative processes. We seek to extend the nice asymptotic properties of regenerative processes to path-functionals of regenerative processes. We show that these more general processes converge to a “steady-state” process in a certain weak sense. This is applied to show convergence of shot-noise processes. We also present a Blackwell theorem for path-functionals of regenerative processes.  相似文献

We generalize the BM-local time fractional symmetric αα-stable motion introduced in Cohen and Samorodnitsky (2006) by replacing the local time with a general continuous additive functional (CAF). We show that the resulting process is again symmetric αα-stable with stationary increments. Depending on the CAF, the process is either self-similar or lies in the domain of attraction of the BM-local time fractional symmetric αα-stable motion. We also show that the process arises as a weak limit of a discrete “random rewards scheme” similar to the one described by Cohen and Samorodnitsky.  相似文献

Max-stable processes arise in the limit of component-wise maxima of independent processes, under appropriate centering and normalization. In this paper, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the ergodicity and mixing of stationary max-stable processes. New criteria are provided for determining whether an integral representation of a stable process is minimal. These criteria are based on various nonminimal sets and their projections, and have several advantages over and shed light on already available criteria. In particular, they naturally lead from a nonminimal representation to the one which is minimal. Several known examples are considered to illustrate the main results. The general approach is also adapted to show that the so-called mixed moving averages have a minimal integral representation of the mixed moving average type.  相似文献

Markov processes Xt on (X, FX) and Yt on (Y, FY) are said to be dual with respect to the function f(x, y) if Exf(Xt, y) = Eyf(x, Yt for all x ? X, y ? Y, t ? 0. It is shown that this duality reverses the role of entrance and exit laws for the processes, and that two previously published results of the authors are dual in precisely this sense. The duality relation for the function f(x, y) = 1{x<y} is established for one-dimensional diffusions, and several new results on entrance and exit laws for diffusions, birth-death processes, and discrete time birth-death chains are obtained.  相似文献
