This paper presents the spectral emission and saturation properties of a Lumilass G9 fluorescence glass excited using a 157 nm laser emitting ∼10 ns duration pulses. This fluorescence glass can be applied in conjunction with a CCD array for beam profiling and divergence measurements. This method can also be used for deriving information on the spatial coherence function of the F2 laser. This constitutes one of the major contributions of the paper and is also discussed. 相似文献

Optical homodyne receivers based on modified Dither Optical Phase-Locked Loop is analyzed taking into account the laser phase noise, photo detectors shot noise and the dither signal. This modified loop contains all the components of a standard Dither OPLL in conjunction of an additional phase modulator. This modified loop considerably improves the performance of the homodyne reception technique over the earlier technique with the help of commercially available external cavity lasers with line-width of about few hundred kHz. This modified dither OPLL seems a realistic approach for receiving modulated signal for inter-satellite communication systems. This modified technique provides the advantage of low weight, small size and above low cost because the proposed technique significantly reduces the requirement of very narrow line-width lasers. This modified dither loop shows good improvements in the reduction performance over previously reported methods, like, less system power penalty, relaxed line-width requirement. 相似文献

This study presents nonreciprocal transmission and nonreciprocal magnon–phonon entanglement in a spinning microwave magnomechanical system. This system consists of microwave photons, magnon modes, and phonons. These are created by the vibrational mode of a yttrium iron garnet sphere. This investigation reveals that nonreciprocity is caused by the light that is circulating in a resonator that is experiencing a Fizeau shift. This leads to a difference in the effective detuning frequency of the photon for forwarding and backward drives. A super-strong transmission isolation rate (>100 dB) and a strong entanglement isolation rate (≈50 dB) are obtained by applying the experimental parameters. This scheme opens a new route for exploiting a variety of nonreciprocal effects, and it provides the theoretical basis for the design and realization of magnetically controllable isolators and diodes. 相似文献

This paper proposes a scheme for information concentration of two remote two-level
atoms in cavity QED. This scheme does not involve the Bell-state measurement. During
the interaction between atom and cavity, the cavity frequency is large-detuned from
the atomic transition frequency, thus the scheme is insensitive to both the cavity
decay and the thermal field. This idea can directly be generalized in the case of

In standard physics quantum field theory is based on a flat vacuum space-time. This quantum field theory predicts a nonzero cosmological constant. Hence the gravitational field equations do not admit a flat vacuum space-time. This dilemma is resolved using the units covariant gravitational field equations. This paper shows that the field equations admit a flat vacuum space-time with nonzero cosmological constant if and only if the canonical LNH is valid. This allows an interpretation of the LNH phenomena in terms of a time-dependent vacuum state. If this is correct then the cosmological constant must be positive. 相似文献

Rogue waves are more precisely defined as waves whose height is more than twice the significant wave height. This remarkable height was measured (by Draupner in 1995). Thus, the need for constructing a mechanism for the rogue waves is of great utility. This motivated us to suggest a mechanism, in this work, that rogue waves may be constructed via nonlinear interactions of solitons and periodic waves. This paper examines the effect of the granulation process on the color texture of compacted powders and granules. The objective is to obtain information to provide for a better comprehension of granulation mechanisms by using a pigment as a texture marker. This requires the establishment of a methodology both to qualify and quantify the spatial variation of color on the compact surface. This paper reviews the physics of quantum disorder in relation with a series of experiments using laser-cooled atoms exposed to “kicks” of a standing wave, realizing a paradigmatic model of quantum chaos, the kicked rotor. This dynamical system can be mapped onto a tight-binding Hamiltonian with pseudo-disorder, formally equivalent to the Anderson model of quantum disorder, with quantum chaos playing the role of disorder.
