For any given odd prime p and a fixed positive integer D prime to p, we study the equation \(x^2+D^m=p^n\) in positive integers xm and n. We use a classical work of Dem’janenko in 1965 on a certain quadratic Diophantine equation together with some results concerning the existence of primitive divisors of Lucas sequences to examine our equation when D is a product of \(p-1\) and a square.  相似文献

In 1876, H. Brocard posed the problem of finding all integral solutions to n! + 1 = m2. In 1913, unaware of Brocard's query, S. Ramanujan gave the problem in the form, The number 1 + n! is a perfect square for the values 4, 5, 7 of n. Find other values. We study the initial-boundary-value problem for the Camassa–Holm equation on the half-line by associating to it a matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem in the complex k-plane; the jump matrix is determined in terms of the spectral functions corresponding to the initial and boundary values. We prove that if the boundary values u(0,t) are ?0 for all t then the corresponding initial-boundary-value problem has a unique solution, which can be expressed in terms of the solution of the associated RH problem. In the case u(0,t)<0, the compatibility of the initial and boundary data is explicitly expressed in terms of an algebraic relation to be satisfied by the spectral functions. To cite this article: A. We present a Riemann–Hilbert problem formalism for the initial value problem for the Camassa–Holm equation ut?utxx+2ωux+3uux=2uxuxx+uuxxx on the line (CH). We show that: (i) for all ω>0, the solution of this problem can be obtained in a parametric form via the solution of some associated Riemann–Hilbert problem; (ii) for large time, it develops into a train of smooth solitons; (iii) for small ω, this soliton train is close to a train of peakons, which are piecewise smooth solutions of the CH equation for ω=0. We investigate minimal solutions of the Allen–Cahn equation on a Gromov-hyperbolic graph. Under some natural conditions on the graph, we show the existence of non-constant uniformly-bounded minimal solutions with prescribed asymptotic behaviours. For a phase field model on a hyperbolic graph, such solutions describe energy-minimising steady-state phase transitions that converge towards prescribed phases given by the asymptotic directions on the graph.  相似文献

In this Note we are concerned with the well-posedness of the Camassa–Holm equation in analytic function spaces. Using the Abstract Cauchy–Kowalewski Theorem we prove that the Camassa–Holm equation admits, locally in time, a unique analytic solution. Moreover, if the initial data is real analytic, belongs to Hs(R) with s>3/2, 6u06L1< and u0?u0xx does not change sign, we prove that the solution stays analytic globally in time. Let g(n) and h(n) be the coefficients of the Rogers–Ramanujan identities. We obtain asymptotic formulas for the number of odd values of g(n) for odd n, and h(n) for even n, which improve Gordon's results. Arc spaces have been introduced in algebraic geometry as a tool to study singularities but they show strong connections with combinatorics as well. Exploiting these relations, we obtain a new approach to the classical Rogers–Ramanujan Identities. The linking object is the Hilbert–Poincaré series of the arc space over a point of the base variety. In the case of the double point, this is precisely the generating series for the integer partitions without equal or consecutive parts.  相似文献
