The surface extension of all‐carbon based bowl‐shaped molecules, such as corannulene and sumanene, to synthesize even larger buckybowls has been widely studied, leaving other concave compounds with heteroatoms less considered. Herein we present a highly curved molecule synthesized via stepwise cyclization of fjords of a bisacridone derivative. Crystallographic analysis unambiguously confirmed a boat‐shaped structure with deformed bottom benzene ring. Theoretical calculation unravels an inversion process with an S‐shaped transition structure rather than a planar one. The enlarged boat demonstrates interesting properties, such as red shifts in absorption and emission spectra, enhanced emission intensity, and convergent frontier molecular orbital energy levels, in comparison to the related concave N‐heterotriangulene.  相似文献

Unusual 1,2‐migration reactions of N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) on transition metals were investigated using density functional theory calculations. Our results reveal that the electronic properties, ring strain of the four‐membered ring, and aromaticity of NHC play crucial roles in the thermodynamics of such a 1,2‐migration. Further studies show that changing the methylene on the metal center in the reactant with a more electronegative group (NH or O) will lead to the formation of products with nitrogen coordinating to the metal center, whereas other groups (BH, CF2, and SiH2) will make such a 1,2‐migration reverse. In addition, the reversed rearrangement of 1,2‐boron, silyl migration could be thermodynamically and kinetically favorable.  相似文献

The proton‐induced Ru?C bond variation, which was previously found to be relevant in the water oxidation, has been investigated by using cyclometalated ruthenium complexes with three phenanthroline (phen) isomers. The designed complexes, [Ru(bpy)2(1,5‐phen)]+ ([ 2 ]+), [Ru(bpy)2(1,6‐phen)]+ ([ 3 ]+), and [Ru(bpy)2(1,7‐phen)]+ ([ 4 ]+) were newly synthesized and their structural and electronic properties were analyzed by various spectroscopy and theoretical protocols. Protonation of [ 4 ]+ triggered profound electronic structural change to form remote N‐heterocyclic carbene (rNHC), whereas protonation of [ 2 ]+ and [ 3 ]+ did not affect their structures. It was found that changes in the electronic structure of phen beyond classical resonance forms control the rNHC behavior. The present study provides new insights into the ligand design of related ruthenium catalysts.  相似文献

A tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) donor is annulated to porphyrins (P) via quinoxaline linkers to form novel symmetric P–TTF–P triads 1 a – c and asymmetric P–TTF dyads 2 a , b in good yields. These planar and extended π‐conjugated molecules absorb light over a wide region of the UV/Vis spectrum as a result of additional charge‐transfer excitations within the donor–acceptor assemblies. Quantum‐chemical calculations elucidate the nature of the electronically excited states. The compounds are electrochemically amphoteric and primarily exhibit low oxidation potentials. Cyclic voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical studies allow differentiation between the TTF and porphyrin sites with respect to the multiple redox processes occurring within these molecular assemblies. Transient absorption measurements give insight into the excited‐state events and deliver corresponding kinetic data. Femtosecond transient absorption spectra in benzonitrile may suggest the occurrence of fast charge separation from TTF to porphyrin in dyads 2 a , b but not in triads 1 a – c . Clear evidence for a photoinduced and relatively long lived charge‐separated state (385 ps lifetime) is obtained for a supramolecular coordination compound built from the ZnP–TTF dyad and a pyridine‐functionalized C60 acceptor unit. This specific excited state results in a (ZnP–TTF)?+ ??? (C60py)?? state. The binding constant of ZnII ??? py is evaluated by constructing a Benesi–Hildebrand plot based on fluorescence data. This plot yields a binding constant K of 7.20×104 M ?1, which is remarkably high for bonding of pyridine to ZnP.  相似文献

The four expanded p‐benziporphyrins A,C‐di‐p‐benzi[24]pentaphyrin(1.1.1.1.1), N‐fused A‐p‐benzi[24]pentaphyrin, A,D ‐di‐p‐benzi[28]hexaphyrin(1.1.1.1.1.1), and A,C‐di‐p‐benzi[28]hexaphyrin(1.1.1.1.1.1) were obtained in three‐component Lindsey‐type macrocyclizations. These compounds were explored as macrocyclic ligands and as potential aromaticity switches. A BODIPY‐like difluoroboron complex was obtained from the A,C‐di‐p‐benzi[24]pentaphyrin, whereas A,C‐di‐p‐benzi[28]hexaphyrin yielded a Möbius‐aromatic PdII complex containing fused pyrrole and phenylene subunits. Conformational behavior, tautomerism, and acid‐base chemistry of the new macrocycles were characterized by means of NMR spectroscopy and DFT calculations. Free base N‐fused A‐p‐benzi[24]pentaphyrin showed temperature‐dependent Hückel–Möbius aromaticity switching, whereas the A,C‐di‐p‐benzi[28]hexaphyrin formed a Möbius‐aromatic dication.  相似文献

The synthesis of a series of novel core‐modified and fused‐ring‐expanded tetraphenylporphyrins is reported. Theoretical calculations and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) and fluorescence spectroscopic measurements were used to analyze the effect of core modification with Group 16 oxygen, sulfur, selenium, and tellurium atoms on the optical properties and electronic structures of the porphyrins. Marked redshifts of the Q and B bands and accelerated intersystem‐crossing rates were observed, thus making these compounds potentially suitable for use in a variety of applications. The scope for further fine‐tuning of these optical properties based on additional structural modifications, such as the incorporation of fused benzene rings to form ABAB structures by using a thiophene precursor with a fused bicyclo[2.2.2]octadiene ring and the introduction of various substituents onto the meso‐phenyl rings, is also examined.  相似文献

A series of porphyrins fused with acenaphthylene, phenanthroline, and benzofluoranthene polycyclic aromatic rings were prepared by means of a 3+1 porphyrin synthesis approach and subsequent retro‐Diels–Alder reaction of bicyclo[2.2.2]octadiene‐fused precursors. Analysis of the magnetic circular dichroism spectra and the results of time‐dependent DFT calculations are used to identify the reasons for the trends observed in the wavelengths and relative intensities of the Q bands of the products. Michl's perimeter model is used as a conceptual framework to explain the changes in the relative energies of the frontier π‐molecular orbitals.  相似文献

Diastereomeric geminate pairs of chiral bis(2‐oxazoline) ruthenium complexes with bipyridyl‐type N‐heteroaromatics, Λ‐ and Δ‐[Ru(L‐ L)2(iPr‐biox)]2+ (iPr‐biox=(4S,4′S)‐4,4′‐diisopropyl‐2,2′‐bis(2‐oxazoline); L‐ L=2,2′‐bipyridyl (bpy) for 1 Λ and 1 Δ, 4,4′‐dimethyl‐2,2′‐bipyridyl (dmbpy) for 2 Λ and 2 Δ, and 1,10‐phenanthroline (phen) for 3 Λ and 3 Δ), were separated as BF4 and PF6 salts and were subjected to the comparative studies of their stereochemical and photochemical characterization. DFT calculations of 1 Λ and 1 Δ electronic configurations for the lowest triplet excited state revealed that their MO‐149 (HOMO) and MO‐150 (lower SOMO) characters are interchanged between them and that the phosphorescence‐emissive states are an admixture of a Ru‐to‐biox charge‐transfer state and an intraligand excited state within the iPr‐biox. Furthermore, photoluminescence properties of the two Λ,Δ‐diastereomeric series are discussed with reference to [Ru(bpy)3]2+.  相似文献

The cationic cluster complexes [Ru3(CO)10(μ‐H)(μ‐κ2N,C‐L1Me)]+ ( 3 +; HL1=quinoxaline) and [Ru3(CO)10(μ‐H)(μ‐κ2N,C‐L2Me)]+ ( 5 +; HL2=pyrazine) have been prepared as triflate salts by treatment of their neutral precursors [Ru3(CO)10(μ‐H)(μ‐κ2N,C‐Ln)] with methyl triflate. The cationic character of their heterocyclic ligands is responsible for their enhanced tendency to react with anionic nucleophiles relative to that of hydrido triruthenium carbonyl clusters that have neutral N‐heterocyclic ligands. These clusters react instantaneously with methyl lithium and potassium tris‐sec‐butylborohydride (K‐selectride) to give neutral products that contain novel nonaromatic N‐heterocyclic ligands. The following are the products that have been isolated: [Ru3(CO)9(μ‐H)(μ3‐κ2N,C‐L1Me2)] ( 6 ; from 3 + and methyl lithium), [Ru3(CO)9(μ‐H)(μ3‐κ2N,C‐L1HMe)] ( 7 ; from 3 + and K‐selectride), [Ru3(CO)9(μ‐H)(μ3‐κ2N,C‐L2Me2)] ( 8 ; from 5 + and methyl lithium), and [Ru3(CO)9(μ‐H)(μ3‐κ2N,C‐L2HMe)] ( 11 ; from 5 + and K‐selectride). Whereas the reactions of 3 + lead to products that arise from the attack of the corresponding nucleophile at the C atom of the only CH group adjacent to the N‐methyl group, the reactions of 5 + give mixtures of two products that arise from the attack of the nucleophile at one of the C atoms located on either side of the N‐methyl group. The LUMOs and the atomic charges of 3 + and 5 + confirm that the reactions of these clusters with anionic nucleophiles are orbital‐controlled rather than charge‐controlled processes. The N‐heterocyclic ligands of all of these neutral products are attached to the metal atoms in nonconventional face‐capping modes. Those of compounds 6 – 8 have the atoms of a ligand C?N fragment σ‐bonded to two Ru atoms and π‐bonded to the other Ru atom, whereas the ligand of compound 11 has a C? N fragment attached to a Ru atom through the N atom and to the remaining two Ru atoms through the C atom. A variable‐temperature 1H NMR spectroscopic study showed that the ligand of compound 7 is involved in a fluxional process at temperatures above ?93 °C, the mechanism of which has been satisfactorily modeled with the help of DFT calculations and involves the interconversion of the two enantiomers of this cluster through a conformational change of the ligand CH2 group, which moves from one side of the plane of the heterocyclic ligand to the other, and a 180° rotation of the entire organic ligand over a face of the metal triangle.  相似文献

The mechanism of the ruthenium–N‐heterocyclic‐carbene‐catalyzed formation of amides from alcohols and amines was investigated by experimental techniques (Hammett studies, kinetic isotope effects) and by a computational study with dispersion‐corrected density functional theory (DFT/M06). The Hammett study indicated that a small positive charge builds‐up at the benzylic position in the transition state of the turnover‐limiting step. The kinetic isotope effect was determined to be 2.29(±0.15), which suggests that the breakage of the C? H bond is not the rate‐limiting step, but that it is one of several slow steps in the catalytic cycle. Rapid scrambling of hydrogen and deuterium at the α position of the alcohol was observed with deuterium‐labeled substrates, which implies that the catalytically active species is a ruthenium dihydride. The experimental results were supported by the characterization of a plausible catalytic cycle by using DFT/M06. Both cis‐dihydride and trans‐dihydride intermediates were considered, but when the theoretical turnover frequencies (TOFs) were derived directly from the calculated DFT/M06 energies, we found that only the trans‐dihydride pathway was in agreement with the experimentally determined TOFs.  相似文献

[RuCl(arene)(μ‐Cl)]2 dimers were treated in a 1:2 molar ratio with sodium or thallium salts of bis‐ and tris(pyrazolyl)borate ligands [Na(Bp)], [Tl(Tp)], and [Tl(TpiPr, 4Br)]. Mononuclear neutral complexes [RuCl(arene)(κ2‐Bp)] ( 1 : arene=p‐cymene (cym); 2 : arene=hexamethylbenzene (hmb); 3 : arene=benzene (bz)), [RuCl(arene)(κ2‐Tp)] ( 4 : arene=cym; 6 : arene=bz), and [RuCl(arene)(κ2‐TpiPr, 4Br)] ( 7 : arene=cym, 8 : arene=hmb, 9 : arene=bz) have been always obtained with the exception of the ionic [Ru2(hmb)2(μ‐Cl)3][Tp] ( 5′ ), which formed independently of the ratio of reactants and reaction conditions employed. The ionic [Ru(CH3OH)(cym)(κ2‐Bp)][X] ( 10 : X=PF6, 12 : X=O3SCF3) and the neutral [Ru(O2CCF3)(cym)(κ2‐Bp)] ( 11 ) have been obtained by a metathesis reaction with corresponding silver salts. All complexes 1 – 12 have been characterized by analytical and spectroscopic data (IR, ESI‐MS, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy). The structures of the thallium and calcium derivatives of ligand Tp, [Tl(Tp)] and [Ca(dmso)6][Tp]2 ? 2 DMSO, of the complexes 1 , 4 , 5′ , 6 , 11 , and of the decomposition product [RuCl(cym)(HpziPr, 4Br)2][Cl] ( 7′ ) have been confirmed by using single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Electrochemical studies showed that 1 – 9 and 11 undergo a single‐electron RuII→RuIII oxidation at a potential, measured by cyclic voltammetry, which allows comparison of the electron‐donor characters of the bis‐ and tris(pyrazol‐1‐yl)borate and arene ligands, and to estimate, for the first time, the values of the Lever EL ligand parameter for Bp, Tp, and TpiPr, 4Br. Theoretical calculations at the DFT level indicated that both oxidation and reduction of the Ru complexes under study are mostly metal‐centered with some involvement of the chloride ligand in the former case, and also demonstrated that the experimental isolation of the μ3‐binuclear complex 5′ (instead of the mononuclear 5 ) is accounted for by the low thermodynamic stability of the latter species due to steric reasons.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculations have been used to explore the potential of Ru‐based complexes with 1,3‐bis(2,4,6‐trimethylphenyl)imidazolin‐2‐ylidene (SIMes) ligand backbone ( A ) being modified in silico by the insertion of a C60 molecule ( B and C ), as olefin metathesis catalysts. To this end, we investigated the olefin metathesis reaction catalyzed by complexes A , B , and C using ethylene as the substrate, focusing mainly on the thermodynamic stability of all possible reaction intermediates. Our results suggest that complex B bearing an electron‐withdrawing N‐heterocyclic carbene improves the performance of unannulated complex A . The efficiency of complex B is only surpassed by complex A when the backbone of the N‐heterocyclic carbene of complex A is substituted by two amino groups. The particular performance of complexes B and C has to be attributed to electronic factors, that is, the electronic‐donating capacity of modified SIMes ligand rather than steric effects, because the latter are predicted to be almost identical for complexes B and C when compared to those of A . Overall, this study indicates that such Ru‐based complexes B and C might have the potential to be effective olefin metathesis catalysts.  相似文献

The condensation reaction of α,α′‐dihydroxy‐1,3‐diisopropylbenzene, pyrrole, and an aldehyde leads to the formation of tetramethyl‐m‐benziporphodimethene and outer α‐pyrrolic carbon oxygenated N‐confused tetramethyl‐m‐benziporphodimethenes containing a γ‐lactam ring in the macrocycle. Two isomers with the carbonyl group of the lactam ring either close to (O‐Up) or away from (O‐Down) the neighboring sp3 meso carbon were synthesized and characterized. The single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis on the regular and γ‐lactam containing tetramethyl‐m‐benziporphodimethenes showed highly distorted macrocycles for all compounds. For O‐Up and O‐Down isomers, dimeric structures, assembling by intermolecular hydrogen‐bonding interactions through lactam rings, were observed in the solid state. Fitting the concentration dependent chemical shifts of the outer NH proton using the non‐linear regression method give a maximum association constant of 108.9 M ?1 for the meso 4‐methylcarboxyphenyl substituted O‐Down isomer. The DFT calculations concluded that the O‐Up isomer is energetically more stable, and the keto form is more stable than the enol form.  相似文献

Aromaticity is one of the most important concepts in organic chemistry. A variety of metalla‐aromatic compounds have been recently prepared and in most of those examples, the metal participates only in a monocyclic ring. In contrast, metal‐bridged bicyclic aromatic molecules, in which a metal is shared between two aromatic rings, have been less developed. Herein, we report the first metal‐bridged tricyclic aromatic system, in which the metal center is shared by three aromatic five‐membered rings. These metalla‐aromatics are formed by reaction between osmapentalyne and arene nucleophiles. Experimental results and theoretical calculations reveal that the three five‐membered rings around the osmium center are aromatic. In addition, the broad absorption bands in the UV/Vis absorption spectra of these novel aromatic systems cover almost the entire visible region. This straightforward synthetic strategy may be extended to the synthesis of other metal‐bridged polycyclic aromatics.  相似文献

5,10,15‐Tris(pentafluorophenyl)tetrapyrromethane was efficiently prepared through a route involving stepwise diaroylation of 5‐pentafluorophenyldipyrromethane. A2B6‐type [36]octaphyrins were prepared by the cross condensation of the tetrapyrromethane with aryl aldehydes in moderate yields. A2B6‐type [36]octaphyrins bearing 2,4,6‐trifluorophenyl, 2,6‐dichlorophenyl, and phenyl substituents underwent CuII‐metalation‐induced fragmentation to give two molecules of AB3‐type CuII porphyrins. A2B6‐type [36]octaphyrin bearing 3‐thienyl substituents underwent thermal N‐thienyl fusion reactions to provide a modestly aromatic [38]octaphyrin, which, upon treatment with MnO2, underwent further N‐thienyl fusion and subsequent oxidation to give a nonaromatic doubly N‐thienyl fused [36]octaphyrin.  相似文献

Doubly and quadruply quinoline‐fused porphyrins were effectively synthesized through a reaction sequence consisting of Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of β‐borylated porphyrins with 2‐iodoaniline and subsequent Pictet–Spengler cyclization. These quinoline‐fused porphyrins display red‐shifted absorption bands and higher electron‐accepting abilities. This synthetic protocol also allowed the synthesis of phenanthroline‐fused porphyrin dimers, which bound either a NiII or ZnII cation. The resultant metal complexes displayed further red shifted absorption spectra and molecular twists to effect an almost perpendicular arrangement of the two porphyrins.  相似文献

A “metal–ketimine+ArI(OR)2” approach has been developed for preparing metal–ketimido complexes, and ketimido ligands are found to stabilize high‐valent metallophthalocyanine (M? Pc) complexes such as ruthenium(IV) phthalocyanines. Treatment of bis(ketimine) ruthenium(II) phthalocyanines [RuII(Pc)(HN?CPh2)2] ( 1a ) and [RuII(Pc)(HNQu)2] ( 1b ; HNQu=N‐phenyl‐1,4‐benzoquinonediimine) with PhI(OAc)2 affords bis(ketimido) ruthenium(IV) phthalocyanines [RuIV(Pc)(N?CPh2)2] ( 2a ) and [RuIV(Pc)(NQu)2] ( 2b ), respectively. X‐ray crystal structures of 1b and [RuII(Pc)(PhN?CHPh)2] ( 1c ) show Ru? N(ketimine) distances of 2.075(4) and 2.115(3) Å, respectively. Complexes 2a , 2b readily revert to 1a , 1b upon treatment with phenols. 1H NMR spectroscopy reveals that 2a , 2b are diamagnetic and 2b exists as two isomers, consistent with a proposed eclipsed orientation of the ketimido ligands in these ruthenium(IV) complexes. The reaction of 1a , 1b with PhI(OAc)2 to afford 2a , 2b suggests the utility of ArI(OR)2 as an oxidative deprotonation agent for the generation of high‐valent metal complexes featuring M? N bonds with multiple bonding characters. DFT and time‐dependent (TD)‐DFT calculations have been performed on the electronic structures and the UV/Vis absorption spectra of 1b and 2b , which provide support for the diamagnetic nature of 2b and reveal a significant barrier for rotation of the ketimido group about the Ru? N(ketimido) bond.  相似文献
