The velocity–vorticity formulation of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations was recently found to give excellent numerical results for flows with strong rotation. In this work, we propose a new regularization of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations, which we call the 3D velocity–vorticity-Voigt (VVV) model, with a Voigt regularization term added to momentum equation in velocity–vorticity form, but with no regularizing term in the vorticity equation. We prove global well-posedness and regularity of this model under periodic boundary conditions. We prove convergence of the model's velocity and vorticity to their counterparts in the 3D Navier–Stokes equations as the Voigt modeling parameter tends to zero. We prove that the curl of the model's velocity converges to the model vorticity (which is solved for directly), as the Voigt modeling parameter tends to zero. Finally, we provide a criterion for finite-time blow-up of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations based on this inviscid regularization.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish the global well-posedness of classical solutions to the half-space problem with the boundary condition proposed by Navier for the isentropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations in three spatial dimensions. Initial data are of small energy but possibly large oscillations.  相似文献

In this paper, we give a new approach to improve the Leray's result concerning the cauchy problem to the 3D Navier–Stokes equations. In particular, global well-posedness with a large component of the initial vorticity is obtained. Our idea is considering the vorticity equations and using some suitable function spaces.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to establish the global well-posedness and large-time asymptotic behavior of the strong solution to the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations with vacuum. It is proved that if the shear viscosity \({\mu}\) is a positive constant and the bulk viscosity \({\lambda}\) is the power function of the density, that is, \({\lambda=\rho^{\beta}}\) with \({\beta \in [0,1],}\) then the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional compressible Navier–Stokes equations admits a unique global strong solution provided that the initial data are of small total energy. This result can be regarded as the extension of the well-posedness theory of classical compressible Navier–Stokes equations [such as Huang et al. (Commun Pure Appl Math 65:549–585, 2012) and Li and Xin (http://arxiv.org/abs/1310.1673) respectively]. Furthermore, the large-time behavior of the strong solution to the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional barotropic compressible Navier–Stokes equations had been also obtained.  相似文献

We prove the global well-posedness for the 3D Navier–Stokes equations in critical Fourier–Herz spaces, by making use of the Fourier localization method and the Littlewood–Paley theory. The advantage of working in Fourier–Herz spaces lies in that they are more adapted than classical Besov spaces, for estimating the bilinear paraproduct of two distributions with the summation of their regularity indexes exactly zero. Our result is an improvement of a recent theorem by Lei and Lin (2011) [10].  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global well-posed problem for the three dimensional incompressible anisotropic Navier–Stokes system (ANS) with initial data in the scaling invariant Besov–Sobolev type spaces. We prove that (ANS) has a unique global solution provided that the initial vertical velocity is large while initial horizontal data are sufficiently small compared with the horizontal viscosity. In particular, our result implies the global well-posedness of (ANS) with highly oscillating initial data.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the global well-posedness for a three-dimensional Boussinesq system with axisymmetric initial data. This system couples the Navier–Stokes equation with a transport-diffusion equation governing the temperature. Our result holds uniformly with respect to the heat conductivity coefficient κ?0κ?0 which may vanish.  相似文献

In this paper, we mainly study the well-posedness for the 3-D inhomogeneous incompressible Navier–Stokes equations with variable viscosity. With some smallness assumption on the BMO-norm of the initial density, we first get the local well-posedness of (1.1) in the critical Besov spaces. Moreover, if the viscosity coefficient is a constant, we can extend this local solution to be a global one. Our theorem implies that we have successfully extended the integrability index p of the initial velocity which has been obtained by Abidi, Gui and Zhang in [3], Burtea in [8] and Zhai and Yin in [32] to approach the ideal one i.e. 1<p<6. The main novelty of this work is to apply the CRW theorem obtained by Coifman, Rochberg, Weiss in [11] to get a new a priori estimate for an elliptic equation with variable coefficients. The uniqueness of the solution also relies on a Lagrangian approach as in [16], [17], [18].  相似文献

We discuss the initial and boundary value problems for the system of dimensionless Navier–Stokes equations describing the dynamics of a viscous incompressible fluid using the method of characteristics and the geometric method developed by the authors. Some properties of the formulation of these problems are considered. We study the effect of the Reynolds number on the flow of a viscous fluid near the surface of a body.  相似文献

We prove the global-in-time existence of weak solutions to the Navier–Stokes equations of compressible isentropic flow in three space dimensions with adiabatic exponent γ ≥ 1. Initial data and solutions are small in L 2 around a non-constant steady state with densities being positive and essentially bounded. No smallness assumption is imposed on the external forces when γ = 1. A great deal of information about partial regularity and large-time behavior is obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a class of nonlinear Schrödinger equations associated with the Dunkl operators. In this regard, we study local and global well-posedness, and the scattering theory associated with these equations.  相似文献
