Na-rich layered oxides as cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries were designed using an electrochemical method based on Li-rich layered oxides. The materials show high specific capacity that can reach 234 mAh/g at a current of 5 mA/g. The energy density of this material (644 Wh/kg) is even higher than those of commercial cathodes for lithium-ion batteries, such as LiFePO4 and LiMn2O4. Kinetic analysis of Na+ insertion/extraction into/from the Na-rich layered oxide reveals that the Na+ diffusion coefficient is about 10 14 cm2/s.  相似文献

Besides classical electrode materials pertaining to Li-ion batteries, recent interest has been devoted to pairs of active redox composites having a redox center and an intercalant source. Taking advantage of the NaPF6 salt decomposition above 4.2 V, we extrapolate this concept to the electrochemical in situ preparation of F-based MnO composite electrodes for Na-ion batteries. Such electrodes exhibit a reversible discharge capacity of 145 mAh g 1 at room temperature. The amorphization of pristine MnO electrode after activation is attributed to the electrochemical grinding effect caused by substantial atomic migration and lattice strain build-up upon cycling.  相似文献

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are now intensively developed as a cost-effective technology alternative to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) for large-scale energy storage because of their various advantages such as huge abundance of sodium resources, highly safe and significantly low cost. Among many other cathode materials, layered 3d-transition metal oxides (LTMO-NaxMO2, x ≤ 1 and M = Co, Ni, Mn, Cr, Cu, Fe and V) have gained an enormous interest and attractive attention among researchers because of their low-cost, high energy density and ease of synthesis. In addition, LTMOs offer higher reversible capacities because of relatively lower molecular weights; however, complex phase transformations limit their cycling life. Based on the previous research, it was examined that the crystalline phase of LTMO highly influences the electrochemical performance of SIBs; therefore, this review mainly focuses on the latest advances of various crystalline phases such as P2-type, P3-type, O3-type and biphase/multiphase materials and its strength as well as future prospects and challenges.  相似文献

The demand for efficient and cheap electrochemical storage devices is very high today. Na-ion batteries are emerging as a promising alternative to Li-ion batteries for large-scale applications because of the much larger abundance of sodium. Among the different negative electrode materials allowing Na insertion at low potentials, hard carbons are the materials with the best electrochemical performances reported so far. Here we investigate the synthesis of hard carbons from tannins, an abundant and cheap bio-sourced carbon precursor made of polyphenolic molecules. We show that by a well-controlled synthesis method and high-temperature pyrolysis (1600°C), a hard carbon with developed ultra-microporosity is obtained. This hard carbon delivers a reversible capacity of 306 mAh g?1 at C/20 with a first-cycle coulombic efficiency of 87%. To our knowledge, these electrochemical performances are among the best ever reported in the literature for biomass-derived hard carbons.  相似文献

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have emerged as a promising alternative to Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) for energy storage applications, due to abundant sodium resources, low cost, and similar electrochemical performance. However, the large radius of Na+and high molar mass compared to Li~+, result in large volume strain during charge/discharge and low reversible capacity and poor cycling stability. Due to exceptional physical and chemical properties, graphene has attracted increasing attention as a potential anode material for SIBs. When integrated with other nanomaterials in electrodes, graphene can improve the electrical conductivity, accommodate the large volume change and enhance reaction kinetics. This paper provides a systematic review of recent progress in the application of graphene based anodes for SIBs, with a focus on preparation, structural configuration, Na+storage mechanism and electrochemical performance. Additionally, some challenges and future perspectives are provided to improve the sodium storage performance of graphene based electrodes.  相似文献

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have been considered as an ideal choice for the next generation large-scale energy storage applications owing to the rich sodium resources and the analogous working principle to that of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).Nevertheless, the larger size and heavier mass of Na+ion than those of Li+ion often lead to sluggish reaction kinetics and inferior cycling life in SIBs compared to the LIB counterparts. The pursuit of promising electrode materials that can accommodate the rapid and stable Na-ion insertion/extraction is the key to promoting the development of SIBs toward a commercial prosperity.One-dimensional(1 D)nanomaterials demonstrate great prospects in boosting the rate and cycling performances because of their large active surface areas, high endurance for deformation stress, short ions diffusion channels, and oriented electrons transfer paths.Electrospinning,as a versatile synthetic technology, features the advantages of controllable preparation, easy operation, and mass production, has been widely applied to fabricate the 1 D nanostructured electrode materials for SIBs.In this review,we comprehensively summarize the recent advances in the sodium-storage cathode and anode materials prepared by electrospinning, discuss the effects of modulating the spinning parameters on the materials’micro/nano-structures,and elucidate the structure-performance correlations of the tailored electrodes. Finally, the future directions to harvest more breakthroughs in electrospun Na-storage materials are pointed out.  相似文献

This review demonstrates the approaches to fabricate hybrid cathode materials for lithium-sulfur batteries. This short review does not claim to cover all recently published data; instead, an effort is aimed to show how the critical issues on carbon – sulfur hybrid are addressed based on selected articles in last couple of years. The influence of porous structure of carbon, the confinement effect of polysulfides in narrow micropores, and importance of hierarchical porosity are explained. Besides, the heteroatom doping on carbon in carbon–sulfur hybrids plays a vital role on improvement of bulk electronic conductivity of electrode. This review presents the twin polymerization strategy for direct preparation of nanoscale intermixed hybrid materials. Finally, the formation of sulfur containing copolymers by reacting sulfur melt with functional vinyl monomers are shown in this review with selected examples postulating the respective potential for future generation energy storage technology from the viewpoint of industrial applications.  相似文献

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have gained more scientists’ interest, owing to some facts such as the natural abundance of Na, the similarities of physicochemical characteristics between Li and Na. The irreversible Na+ions consumption during the first cycle of charge/discharge process(due to the formation of the solid electrolyte interface(SEI) on the electrode surface and other irreversible reactions) is the factor that determines high performance SIBs and largely reduces the capacity of the full c...  相似文献

As-prepared polyaniline (PANI) nanorods have been used to synthesize an iron phosphate/polyaniline (FePO4/PANI) composition through the microemulsion technique. After sintering at 460 °C under a nitrogen protective atmosphere, the PANI carbonized, yielding the amorphous iron phosphate/carbonized polyaniline nanorods (FePO4/CPNRs) composite, which acts as the cathode material in sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). The electrochemical performance of FePO4/CPNRs composite shows an initial discharge specific capacity of 140.2 mAh g?1, with the discharge specific capacity being maintained at 134.4 mAh g?1 after the 120th cycle, up to 87.9 % of the theoretical capacity (154.1 mAh g?1 for NaFePO4), as well as an excellent rate capability in sodium-ion batteries. Compared with pure FePO4, the electrochemical performance has been greatly improved. On the one hand, using the CPNRs as conductive medium significantly improves electronic transport. On the other hand, the FePO4 sphere of nanoscale particles, which has a large specific surface area, can promote an active material/electrolyte interface reaction and improve the speed of sodiation and desodiation during the charge and discharge process. The amorphous FePO4/CPNRs composite shows outstanding electrochemical performance as competitive cathode material in SIBs.  相似文献
