In this paper we prove the Schur-Weyl duality between the symplectic group and the Brauer algebra over an arbitrary infinite field . We show that the natural homomorphism from the Brauer algebra to the endomorphism algebra of the tensor space as a module over the symplectic similitude group (or equivalently, as a module over the symplectic group ) is always surjective. Another surjectivity, that of the natural homomorphism from the group algebra for to the endomorphism algebra of as a module over , is derived as an easy consequence of S. Oehms's results [S. Oehms, J. Algebra (1) 244 (2001), 19-44].

We prove that among finite graph algebras and among finite flat graph algebras, dualizability, full dualizability, strong dualizability and entropicity are all equivalent. Any finite (flat) graph algebra which is not dualizable must be inherently non--dualizable for every infinite cardinal . A new, general method for proving strong duality is presented. In this paper we introduce a special kind of ordered topological spaces, called Hilbert spaces. We prove that the category of Hilbert algebras with semi-homomorphisms is dually equivalent to the category of Hilbert spaces with certain relations. We restrict this result to give a duality for the category of Hilbert algebras with homomorphisms. We apply these results to prove that the lattice of the deductive systems of a Hilbert algebra and the lattice of open subsets of its dual Hilbert space, are isomorphic. We explore how this duality is related to the duality given in [6] for finite Hilbert algebras, and with the topological duality developed in [7] for Tarski algebras.   相似文献

In this paper we introduce the category of Yang-Baxter structures. We give examples of objects in this category. We construct full and faithful embbedings from the categories of algebra and coalgebra structures to the category of Yang-Baxter structures. Then we give a new duality theorem which extends the duality between finite dimensional algebras and coalgebras.

In this paper we will generalize the representation theory developed for finite Tarski algebras given in [7]. We will introduce the notion of Tarski space as a generalization of the notion of dense Tarski set, and we will prove that the category of Tarski algebras with semi-homomorphisms is dually equivalent to the category of Tarski spaces with certain closed relations, called T-relations. By these results we will obtain that the algebraic category of Tarski algebras is dually equivalent to the category of Tarski spaces with certain partial functions. We study Poincaré duality algebras over the field F2 of two elements. After introducing a connected sum operation for such algebras we compute the corresponding Grothendieck group of surface algebras (i.e., Poincaré algebras of formal dimension 2). We show that the corresponding group for 3-folds (i.e., algebras of formal dimension 3) is not finitely generated, but does have a Krull-Schmidt property.We then examine the isomorphism classes of 3-folds with at most three generators of degree 3, provide a complete classification, settle which such occur as the cohomology of a smooth 3-manifold, and list separating invariants.The closing section and Appendix A provide several different means of constructing connected sum indecomposable 3-folds.  相似文献

We give a complete picture of the interaction between Koszul and Ringel dualities for quasi-hereditary algebras admitting linear tilting (co)resolutions of standard and costandard modules. We show that such algebras are Koszul, that the class of these algebras is closed with respect to both dualities and that on this class these two dualities commute. All arguments reduce to short computations in the bounded derived category of graded modules.  相似文献

The study of maximal-primary irreducible ideals in a commutative graded connected Noetherian algebra over a field is in principle equivalent to the study of the corresponding quotient algebras. Such algebras are Poincaré duality algebras. A prototype for such an algebra is the cohomology with field coefficients of a closed oriented manifold. Topological constructions on closed manifolds often lead to algebraic constructions on Poincaré duality algebras and therefore also on maximal-primary irreducible ideals. It is the purpose of this note to examine several of these and develop some of their basic properties.  相似文献

We show that the following five categories are equivalent: (1) the opposite category of commutative von Neumann algebras; (2) compact strictly localizable enhanced measurable spaces; (3) measurable locales; (4) hyperstonean locales; (5) hyperstonean spaces. This result can be seen as a measure-theoretic counterpart of the Gelfand duality between commutative unital C?-algebras and compact Hausdorff topological spaces. Matrix Schur product is the entry-wise product of matrices of the same size. It was shown by P. Chaisuriya and S.-C. Ong [1] that (forr1) infinite matrices [a jk ] such that [|a jk | r ] B(l 2 form a Banach algebra under the norm [a jk ] r =[|a jk | r ]1/r and the Schur product. In this paper we demonstrate the existence of Banach space duality within the class of these algebras which is analogous to the classical duality between the spaces of compact, trace class, and bounded operators onl 2. Jónsson and Tarski's extension and representation theorems for Boolean algebras with operators ([7], p. 926 and p. 933) can be extended to homomorphisms between these algebras. The result obtained takes the form of a duality between the category of Boolean algebras with operators and that of the “algebras in the wider sense” (whose subjects are defined in [7]) with a suitable topology. This duality generalizes results of Pierce ([10], p. 38). Moreover, it can be extended to more general objects such as Boolean algebras with non-normal operators and even to arbitrary distributive lattices with operators.  相似文献

Suppose a locally compact group G acts freely and properly on a locally compact Hausdorff space X, and let γ be the induced action on C0(X). We consider a category in which the objects are C-dynamical systems (A,G,α) for which there is an equivariant homomorphism of (C0(X),γ) into the multiplier algebra M(A). Rieffel has shown that such systems are proper and saturated, and hence have a generalized fixed-point algebra Aα which is Morita equivalent to A×α,rG. We show that the assignment (A,α)?Aα is functorial, and that Rieffel's Morita equivalence is natural in a suitable sense. We then use our results to prove a categorical version of Landstad duality which characterizes crossed products by coactions, and to prove that Mansfield imprimitivity for crossed products by homogeneous spaces is natural.  相似文献
