In this study, we investigate entanglement in a two mixed-spin (1/2,1) XY Heisenberg spin system under an applied magnetic field by considering the long-range interaction with an inverse-square function. The spin-spin coupling constant is considered as a function of the distance between spins. We also discuss the temperature and magnetic field dependence of the thermal entanglement in this system for this interaction. The numerical results show that, in the presence of the long-range interaction, thermal entanglement between spins has a rich behavior dependent upon the interaction strength, temperature and magnetic field. We find that for less than a critical distance there are entanglement plateaus dependent upon the distance between spins, whereas above the critical distance the entanglement can exhibit sudden death.

In this paper, the entanglement in a mixed-spin (1/2, 3/2) Heisenberg XXZ model with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction in an inhomogeneous external magnetic field is studied. We not only calculate the ground-state entanglement but also investigate the behaviors of quantum phase transition following the changes of DM interaction and nonuniform magnetic field. More importantly, we note that the DM interaction improves the critical magnetic field B c , the critical temperature T c and broadens the region of entanglement.  相似文献

A physical picture of electron spin alignments in organic molecule-based ferrimagnets is given from numerical calculations of magnetic specific heat (C) and magnetic susceptibility (χ) as functions of temperature and static magnetic field (B) in terms of an Ising Hamiltonian for an alternating spin chain. The double-peak structure of specific heat appears for different parameter ratios and different magnetic field B, indicating that one peak originates from the ferromagnetic nature and the other from the antiferromagnetic nature. Meanwhile, we study successively the influence of intermolecular and intramolecular interaction on the magnetic susceptibility, showing that the ferromagnetic spin alignment in the alternating molecular chains of biradicals and monoradicals is equivalent to the ferromagnetic alignment of the effective S=1/2 spins. Our results are consistent with those of the Quantum Monte Carlo simulations and the exact diagonalization method and in qualitative agreement with the experimental ones.  相似文献

The magnetization of a ferrimagnetic mixed-spin nanoparticle for a series of different single-ion anisotropies D1 and D2 with increasing external magnetic field is studied by the use of the effective-field theory with correlations. At low temperature, the magnetization exhibits an obvious step effect for different anisotropies, exchange couplings, and external magnetic field. The results show that the positive single-ion anisotropy D1 (or D2) is a necessary element for the emergence of the accessional magnetization plateaus for the ferrimagnetic mixed-spin nanoparticle. However, for the stronger D2 the magnetization plateaus dissatisfy the 2S+1 criterion in such a ferrimagnetic nanoparticle system.  相似文献

We study the compensation behaviour and magnetic susceptibility of a mixed ferro-ferrimagnetic ternary alloy of the type ABpC1−p on a cubic lattice by the use of Monte Carlo simulations. We consider that the A and X (X=B or C) ions are alternately connected and have different Ising spins SA=3/2, SB=2, and SC=5/2, respectively. In particular, we find that the magnetic susceptibility may exhibit an outstanding behaviour in a vicinity of the critical and compensation temperatures. The relation of the studied model to ternary Prussian blue analogs is also discussed.  相似文献

A physics picture of spin alignments in molecule-based ferrimagnets is presented from studying the temperature dependence of the effective sublattice magnetic moments and the total reduced magnetization by means of Green’s function theory combined with the Jordan-Wigner transformation. The ferrimagnetic chain includes an S=1 biradical and an S=1/2 monoradical with antiferromagnetic alternating interactions, and the S=1 site in the chain is composed of two S=1/2 spins coupled by a finite ferromagnetic interaction. From the calculations of the sublattice magnetic moments, the magnetic moment of the S=1 biradical is negative, while that of the S=1/2 monoradical is positive, leading to a ferrimagnetic ground state. With the different kinds of the elementary excitations and the competition between the magnetic interactions and thermal fluctuations, the temperature dependence of the magnetization displays rich thermodynamic properties. Meanwhile, the external magnetic field dependence of the magnetization has a clear plateau at one third of the saturation magnetization, which can be compared with the possible experimental findings.  相似文献

The thermal entanglement in (1/2,1) mixed-spin Heisenberg XXZ model is investigated under an external nonuniform magnetic field. In the uniform magnetic field system, the critical magnetic field B c and critical temperature T c are increased by increasing the anisotropic parameter k. The degree of magnetic field b plays an important role in improving the critical temperature and enlarging the region of entanglement in the nonuniform magnetic field system.  相似文献

We study the ground-state and thermal entanglement in the mixed-spin (S,s)=(1,1/2) Heisenberg chain with single-ion anisotropy D using exact diagonalization of small clusters. In this system, a quantum phase transition is revealed to occur at the value D=0, which is the bifurcation point for the global ground state; that is, when the single-ion anisotropy energy is positive, the ground state is unique, whereas when it is negative, the ground state becomes doubly degenerate and the system has the ferrimagnetic long-range order. Using the negativity as a measure of entanglement, we find that a pronounced dip in this quantity, taking place just at the bifurcation point, serves to signal the quantum phase transition. Moreover, we show that the single-ion anisotropy helps to improve the characteristic temperatures above which the quantum behavior disappears.  相似文献

We studied the quantum phase transition revealed to occur in the ferrimagnetic mixed-spin (S,s)=(1,1/2) chain with positive crystal-field anisotropy D under an external magnetic field by using concepts from quantum information theory such as pairwise entanglement and purity, incorporated into the density matrix renormalization group algorithm. In this system, a magnetization plateau appears at 1/3 of the saturation magnetization for all values of D except for a critical value Dc where it vanishes. We obtained this value Dc=1.11445±0.00065 within the thermodynamic limit as local minima of the pairwise entanglement and the purity. Moreover, using this procedure we were able to investigate the second-order (or continuous) character of the quantum phase transition.  相似文献

A two-site single electron double exchange model incorporating orbital degeneracy, superexchange and electron-phonon (e-ph) interaction is studied using exact diagonalization method. The core spins are treated quantum mechanically. We study the ground state phase diagram as well as the magnetic susceptibility and the kinetic energy of the system as a function of temperature. Effect of difference in site energies, which mimics the role of site-diagonal disorder, is investigated. The susceptibility shows a peak at a characteristic temperature which we have referred to as T0. The variation of T0 with e-ph coupling and that of the isotope-shift exponent (α) with T0 are obtained. We also investigate the field-induced change in the kinetic energy, which is related to the colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) of the system, and find that the disorder enhances the CMR even for the two-site system.  相似文献

In this paper, we apply the two-time Green's function method, and provide a simple way to study the magnetic properties of one-dimensional spin-(S,s) Heisenberg ferromagnets. The magnetic susceptibility and correlation functions are obtained by using the Tyablikov decoupling approximation. Our results show that the magnetic susceptibility and correlation length are amonotonically decreasing function of temperature regardless of the mixed spins. It is found that in the case of S=s, our results of one-dimensional mixed-spin model is reduced to be those of the isotropic ferromagnetic Heisenberg chain in the whole temperature region. Our results for the susceptibility are in agreement with those obtained by other theoretical approaches.  相似文献

We investigate the effects of nonlinear couplings and external magnetic field on the thermal entanglement in a two-spin-qutrit system by applying the concept of negativity. It is found that the nonlinear couplings favor the thermal entanglement creating. Only when the nonlinear couplings ∣K∣ are larger than a certain critical value does the entanglement exist. The dependence of the thermal entanglement in this system on the magnetic field and temperature is also presented. The critical magnetic field increases with the increasing nonlinear couplings constant ∣K∣. And for a fixed nonlinear couplings constant, the critical temperature is independent of the magnetic field B.  相似文献

By using the concept of negativity, we investigate the thermal entanglement of a two-spin (1/2, 3/2) mixed-spin Heisenberg XX chain with an inhomogeneous external magnetic field. We obtain the analytical results of entanglement of this model. For the case of uniform magnetic field, we find that the critical temperature is higher than the results of the spin-1/2 chain and (1/2,1) mixed-spin chain. And by adjusting the nonuniform parameter b, one is able to obtain more entanglement at a higher temperature.  相似文献

The effect of Dzialoshinski-Moriya (DM) interaction on thermal entanglement of a mixed-spin chain in an external magnetic field is investigated. It is found that DM interaction may enhance quantum thermal entanglement to a maximal value even though the magnetic field plays a positive role in shrinking thermal entanglement in the mixed-spin chain. Furthermore, the effect of inhomogeneity of the magnetic field on quantum entanglement is analyzed. Our analysis will shed some light on the understanding of the effect of the DM interaction on thermal entanglement of a mixed-spin chain. In order to probe the magnetic ground state, we have carried out temperature-dependent magnetic Compton scattering experiments on an oriented single crystal of magnetite (Fe3O4), together with the corresponding first-principles band theory computations to gain insight into the measurements. An accurate value of the magnetic moment μS associated with unpaired spins is obtained directly over the temperature range of 10-300 K. μS is found to be non-integral and to display an anomalous behavior with the direction of the external magnetic field near the Verwey transition. These results reveal how the magnetic properties enter the Verwey energy scale via spin-orbit coupling and the geometrical frustration of the spinel structure, even though the Curie temperature of magnetite is in excess of 800 K. The anisotropy of the magnetic Compton profiles increases through the Verwey temperature Tv and indicates that magnetic electrons in the ground state of magnetite become delocalized on Fe B-sites above Tv.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of the heat capacity, the magnetic susceptibility, and the splitting of the ground Kramers doublet of the Nd3+ ion in the chain magnet Nd2BaNiO5 are studied. An antiferromagnetic phase transition manifests itself as anomalies in all these dependences. The parameters of the Nd-Ni and Nd-Nd interactions are estimated. The field dependence of the magnetization has two anomalies. A strong magnetic anisotropy prevents the magnetic moments of the Nd3+ ion from deviating from axis c in the crystal even in an external magnetic field. The processes of magnetization and the internal specific features of a chain of spins S = 1 are discussed.  相似文献

The magnetic properties and the electronic structures of a rare-earth aluminum intermetallic compound CeAl2 are investigated by magnetic susceptibility measurements and 27Al pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. The magnetic susceptibility is strongly temperature-dependent, following a Curie–Weiss law down to ∼12 K, and shows an antiferromagnetic transition at 4 K. The 27Al NMR spectra show a typical powder pattern for a nuclear spin I of 5/2 with the second-order nuclear quadrupole interaction at high temperature and an additional large dipolar broadening between the 4f electron spins of cerium and the 27Al nuclear spins at low temperature. The 27Al NMR Knight shift follows the same temperature dependence as the magnetic susceptibility, suggesting that the 27Al NMR Knight shift originates from the transferred hyperfine field of the Ce 4f electron spins with the hyperfine coupling constant of A = +5.7 kOe/μB. The spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T1 is roughly proportional to temperature, as with most non-magnetic metals at high temperature, and then strongly temperature-dependent, increasing rapidly with a peak near the antiferromagnetic transition temperature and decreasing at lower temperature. The temperature dependence of the Korringa ratio K, however, suggests that the antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation signature, which is an enhancement in the Korringa ratio, is washed out owing to the geometrical cancellation of Ce 4f fluctuations at the Al sites.  相似文献

The magnetic behavior of the diluted magnetic semiconductor Cd0.42Mn0.58In2S4 has been study by dc magnetization and ac susceptibility experiments. Zero field cooled and field cooled measurements reveal irreversibility below Tirr=2.60±0.15 K. Ac susceptibility data, performed as a function of the temperature and the frequency, confirm the spin-glass like behavior of the material with Tf=2.75±0.15 K. High temperature susceptibility data follow a typical Curie-Weiss law with θ=−74±1 K which suggests predominant antiferromagnetic interactions. The randomness of the magnetic ions, necessary to explain the magnetic behavior of the material, has been determined by X-ray powder diffraction experiments.  相似文献
