An SIR   epidemic model with density dependent birth and death rates is formulated. In our model it is assumed that the total number of the population is governed by logistic equation. The transmission of infection is assumed to be of the standard form, namely proportional to I(t-h)/N(t-h)I(t-h)/N(t-h) where N(t)N(t) is the total (variable) population size, I(t)I(t) is the size of the infective population and a time delay h   is a fixed time during which the infectious agents develop in the vector. We consider transmission dynamics for the model. Stability of an endemic equilibrium is investigated. The stability result is stated in terms of a threshold parameter, that is, a basic reproduction number R0R0.  相似文献

A delayed SEIRS epidemic model with pulse vaccination and saturation incidence rate is investigated. Using the discrete dynamical system determined by the stroboscopic map, we obtain the existence of the disease-free periodic solution and its exact expression. Further, using the comparison theorem, we establish the sufficient conditions of global attractivity of the disease-free periodic solution and the permanence of disease. Our results indicate that a long latent period of the disease or a proper pulse vaccination rate will lead to eradication of the disease.  相似文献

A delayed stage-structured predator–prey model with non-monotone functional responses is proposed. It is assumed that immature individuals and mature individuals of the predator are divided by a fixed age, and that immature predators do not have the ability to attack prey. Some new and interesting sufficient conditions are obtained for the global existence of multiple positive periodic solutions of the stage-structured predator–prey model. Our method is based on Mawhin’s coincidence degree and novel estimation techniques for the a priori bounds of unknown solutions to Lx = λNx. In the present paper, a Lotka–Volterra type mutualism system with several delays is studied. Some new and interesting sufficient conditions are obtained for the global existence of positive periodic solutions of the mutualism system. Our method is based on Mawhin’s coincidence degree and novel estimation techniques for the a priori bounds of unknown solutions. Our results are different from the existing ones such as those in of Yang et al. [F. Yang, D. Jiang, A. Ying, Existence of positive solution of multidelays facultative mutualism system, J. Eng. In this paper, we investigate the permanence of an SIR epidemic model with a density-dependent birth rate and a distributed time delay. We first consider the attractivity of the disease-free equilibrium and then show that for any time delay, the delayed SIR epidemic model is permanent if and only if an endemic equilibrium exists. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the theoretical analysis. The results obtained are also compared with those from the analog system with a discrete time delay.  相似文献

The model considered consists of an ordinary differential equation coupled with an integro-partial differential equation and describes the interaction between non-infectious and infectious prion proteins. We provide sufficient conditions for uniqueness of monomer-preserving weak solutions. Abstract

We investigate a stochastic HIV/AIDS epidemic model with treatment. The model allows for two stages of infection namely the asymptomatic phase and the symptomatic phase. We prove existence of global positive solutions. We show that the solutions are stochastically ultimately bounded and stochastically permanent. We also study asymptotic behaviour of the solution to the stochastic model around the disease-free equilibrium of the underlying deterministic model. A stage-structured predator–prey system with delays for prey and predator, respectively, is proposed and analyzed. Mathematical analysis of the model equations with regard to boundedness of solutions, permanence and stability are analyzed. In this paper, we consider a ring of identical neurons with self-feedback and delays. Based on the normal form approach and the center manifold theory, we derive some formula to determine the direction of Hopf bifurcation and stability of the Hopf bifurcated synchronous periodic orbits, phase-locked oscillatory waves, standing waves, mirror-reflecting waves, and so on. In addition, under general conditions, such a network has a slowly oscillatory synchronous periodic solution which is completely characterized by a scalar delay differential equation. Despite the fact that the slowly oscillatory synchronous periodic solution of the scalar equation is stable, we show that the corresponding synchronized periodic solution is unstable if the number of the neurons is large or arbitrary even.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a regulated logistic growth model. We first consider the linear stability and the existence of a Hopf bifurcation. We show that Hopf bifurcations occur as the delay τ passes through critical values. Then, using the normal form theory and center manifold reduction, we derive the explicit algorithm determining the direction of Hopf bifurcations and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper, competitive Lotka-Volterra systems are studied that have distributed delays and constant coefficients on interaction terms and have time dependent growth rate vectors with an asymptotically constant average. Algebraic conditions are found to rule out non-vanishing oscillations for such systems and heteroclinic limit cycles for autonomous systems. As a supplement to these results, simple sufficient conditions are provided for certain components of all solutions to vanish and a criterion is given for partial permanence. An outstanding feature of all these results is that the conditions are irrelevant of the size and distribution of the delays.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the investigation of the global dynamics of a SEIR model with information dependent vaccination. The basic reproduction number is derived for the model, and it is shown that gives the threshold dynamics in the sense that the disease‐free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable and the disease dies out if , while there exists at least one positive periodic solution and the disease is uniformly persistent when . In this paper, a SIR model with two delays and general nonlinear incidence rate is considered. The local and global asymptotical stabilities of the disease‐free equilibrium are given. The local asymptotical stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcations at the endemic equilibrium are also established by analyzing the distribution of the characteristic values. Furthermore, the sufficient conditions for the permanence of the system are given. Some numerical simulations to support the analytical conclusions are carried out. Several models have been proposed for describing the formation of animal coat patterns. We consider reaction-diffusion models due to Murray, which rely on a Turing instability for the pattern selection. In this paper, we describe the early stages of the pattern formation process for large domain sizes. This includes the selection mechanism and the geometry of the patterns generated by the nonlinear system on one-, two-, and three-dimensional base domains. These results are obtained by an adaptation of results explaining the occurrence of spinodal decomposition in materials science as modeled by the Cahn-Hilliard equation. We use techniques of dynamical systems, viewing solutions of the reaction-diffusion model in terms of nonlinear semiflows. Our results are applicable to any parabolic system exhibiting a Turing instability.  相似文献
