We study Bragg diffraction of light beams by ultrasound with an inhomogeneous amplitude-phase distribution represented by nonlinear model functions in gyrotropic cubic crystals with strong acoustooptical interaction. Analytical solutions of the vector-matrix equations of coupled waves in partial derivatives with respect to the spatial distributions of light beams and their angular spectra are obtained. The transfer functions of acousto-optical interaction are determined. 根据耦合模理论,分析了砂光波导中静磁波与导波光的相互作用特点。给出了导波光模式之间的耦合方程。理论分析表明,仅当垂直磁化时,发生模式转换的导波光材被全部衍射,此时衍射效率等于模式转换效率。计算了斜向场作用下YIG薄膜中导波光的反斯托克斯相互作用衍射效率,所得结论与实验结果一致。适当倾斜静磁场,导波光的模式转换和衍射效率均可比垂直磁化时间显提高。同时改变静磁体波传播方向和斜向场的偏离方向(与垂直方向  相似文献

An intermediate regime for the diffraction of light on ultrasound in gyrotropic anisotropic and cubic crystals in an external electric field is considered. A system of equations of the coupled waves, which describes acoustooptic diffraction in gyrotropic anisotropic crystals with consideration of the electrically induced optical anisotropy for a strong interaction between light and ultrasound, is presented. An intermediate regime for the diffraction of light on ultrasound in gyrotropic anisotropic crystals which is close to the Bragg regime for a weak acoustooptic interaction is studied. It is shown that the diffracted light is elliptically polarized and that the ellipticity and polarization azimuth of the diffracted wave depend on the anisotropy of the photoelasticity, the electrically induced anisotropy of the crystal in the external electric field, the gyrotropy, and the asymmetry of the diffraction structure. The phonon-polariton behaviors of two-dimensional piezoelectric phononic crystals (PPCs) were studied using the plane wave expansion method. The governing equations combine Maxwell's equations and Newton's equations of motion. A mode-repulsion can be formed by strong coupling between electromagnetic (EM) waves and elastic waves in the vicinity of the center of the first Brillouin zone for PPC that comprises piezoelectric material and with opposite polarization in different periodically organized areas. Take a 2D ZnO PPC as a numerical example, it was decoupled into two independent groups. One refers to the mixed mode of the in-plane elastic waves and the transverse-magnetic (TM) mode EM waves. The other group refers to the mixed mode of the out-of-plane elastic waves and the transverse-electric (TE) mode EM waves. Coupling repulsion is also observed in these two groups.  相似文献

The diffraction of light beams by ultrasound with a two-dimensionally nonuniform, exponentially damped amplitude distribution in gyrotropic cubic crystals is investigated theoretically. An analytical model of strong acoustooptic interaction is constructed on the basis of self-consistent solutions of the vector-matrix partial differential equations for coupled waves written in the amplitudes of the light beam. The model can be used to determine the spatial profiles of the intensity and the polarization structure of the diffracted field for arbitrary diffraction efficiencies and geometries. The propagation of longitudinal strain waves in a solid with quadratic nonlinearity of elastic continuum was studied in the context of a model that takes into account the joint dynamics of elastic displacements in the medium and the concentration of the laser-induced point defects. The input equations of the problem are reformulated in terms of only the total displacements of the medium points. In this case, the presence of structural defects manifests itself in the emergence of a delayed response of the system to the propagation of the strain-related perturbations, which is characteristic of media with relaxation or memory. The model equations describing the nonlinear displacement wave were derived with allowance made for the values of the relaxation parameter. The influence of the generation, relaxation, and the strain-induced drift of defects and the flexoelectricity on the propagation of this wave was analyzed. It is shown that, for short relaxation times of defects, the strain can propagate in the form of both shock fronts and solitary waves (solitons). Exact solutions depending on the type of relation between the coefficients in the equation and describing both the shock-wave structures and the evolution of solitary waves are presented. In the case of longer relaxation times, shock waves do not form and the strain wave propagates only in the form of solitary waves or a train of solitons. The contributions of the finiteness of the defect-recombination rate and the flexoelectricity to linear elastic moduli and spatial dispersion are determined.  相似文献

The amplitude-phase features of an intermediate regime of light diffraction on ultrasound in gyrotropic cubic crystals have been investigated. It is established that in the gyrotropic medium excited by ultrasound two coupled phase lattices of photoelasticity appear as a result of the rotation of the polarization planes of interacting waves. These lattices determine the polarization and energy characteristics of a diffracted light. For a gyrotropic cubic crystal of bismuth germanate, good agreement between the theoretical and experimental dependences of the efficiency of diffraction on the ultrasonic intensity in the intermediate regime close to the Bragg regime of diffraction is obtained.  相似文献

The specific features are considered of the noncollinear optoacoustic interaction in uniaxial gyrotropic quartz crystals in an intermeadiate regime of diffraction close to the Bragg regime. A system of equations of coupled waves is presented which describes the optoacoustic interaction in uniaxial gyrotropic crystals in the Raman-Nath, intermedaite, and the Bragg regimes of diffraction. The dependences of the diffraction efficiency on the ultrasonic wave intensity, the optoacoustic interaction length, and on the incident light polarization are investigated. A multispike structure of the Bragg maximum is studied that appears in accounting for the crystal gyrotropy. A good agreement between the theoretical calculations and the known experimental results for a quartz crystal is shown. Summary We study the diffraction of SH-type elastic waves propagating along the plane interface between two dissimilar elastic half-spaces. It is assumed that the contact between the half-spaces is perfect except for a part of semi-infinite extension where the contact is loosely coupled. Within the framework of the special relativity, the system of reference comoving with Alfvén wave is defined and the form of the perturbations with respect to this system are deduced. The system of equations corresponding to the interaction of the waves, in the case when the relativistic Alfvén wave can generate new Alfvén waves and magnetosonic waves, is obtained in the most general form. In the one-dimensional case the time dependent perturbation method is used for obtain the dispersion equation for the relativistic coupled waves (decay processes). Finally, by solving numerically the dimensionless dispersion equation, the instability domains of the Alfvén waves are obtained. 通过联立两中心带输运物质方程和双光束耦合波方程,建立了双掺杂LiNbO3晶体采用双色光(紫外敏化光和HeiNe记录光)实现非挥发性全息存储的动力学模型。理论上分析了深、浅两杂质中心的微观光学参量(包括敏化光的深中心和浅中心光激发系数、记录光的浅中心光激发系数以及深中心和浅中心的电子复合系数)对记录饱和衍射效率和固定衍射效率的影响。数值计算表明,在双掺杂LiNbO3晶体的非挥发性全息存储中,为了得到高的固定衍射效率,应该选择复合系数较大、记录光激发系数较高、敏化光激发系数较低的浅杂质中心以及敏化光激发系数较高、复合系数最佳的深杂质中心。  相似文献

The coupled mode equations and coupling coefficients for the resonant nonlinear interaction of three extra-ordinary waves in a hot magnetized plasma are derived by Whitham's method of averaged Lagrangian. The wave vectors of the three waves are taken as noncollinear and perpendicular to the external uniform magnetic field. On the basis of the theory of coupled waves the simultaneous diffraction of two waves at a plane dielelectric transmission volume hologram is described. The intensities of the output beams strongly depend on the phase shift between the incident waves and the phase shift of the holographic grating with respect to the interference pattern of the read-out waves. This gives the possibility to transfer the energy from one beam into the other and can be used for the modulation and deflection of the reconstructed beams. The possibility of a separate determination of the different phase shifts by intensity or phase measurements is discussed.  相似文献

Planar oscillations of a chain of dumbbell-shaped particles possessing three degrees of freedom are studied. This system models the dynamics of quasi-one-dimensional crystals consisting of elongated anisotropic molecules. A system of nonlinear differential equations describing the anharmonic interaction of the elastic and orientational waves in the lattice, corresponding to different degrees of freedom of the particles, is constructed assuming a cubic interparticle interaction potential. It is shown that in the low-frequency approximation the system obtained is equivalent to the equations of the moment theory of elasticity, widely employed for describing nonlinear and dispersion properties of layered crystals and phase transformations in alloys. Some types of three-wave collinear interactions are investigated, suggesting the possibility of exciting orientational waves in organic crystals because of their nonlinear interaction with acoustic waves. We investigate the existence and the stability of waves and phase locked states in rings of coupled oscillators with delayed interactions. Using center manifold reduction and the normal form method, we reduce the equation governing the dynamics of the whole network to an amplitude-phase model (i.e. a set of coupled ordinary differential equations describing the evolution of both the amplitudes and the phases of the oscillators). Then we prove the existence of traveling waves, in-phase and anti-phase locked oscillations, in both one-dimensional and two-dimensional lattices. The influence of the interaction strength and the number of oscillators is investigated, and the possible coexistence of waves and phase locked oscillations is shown.  相似文献

This paper deals with small-amplitude waves, described by Maxwell's equations and single-fluid hydrodynamics, in horizontally stratified, continuously varying plasmas with anisotropic electron pressure perturbations. First, two pairs of coupled wave equations in second-order form are obtained. Then, sets of equations in first-order matrix form are derived. One such set, which describes two kinds of vertically propagating transverse waves, is treated by the method of Clemmow and Heading. It is then transformed by Heading's method into a form which is valid throughout reflection regions, and from which a pair of second-order coupled wave equations in Försterling's form is obtained.  相似文献
