We present potential energy curves calculated at the CCSD(T) level of theory for Ga(+)-RG and In(+)-RG complexes (RG = He-Rn). Spectroscopic parameters have been derived from these potentials and compared to previously calculated parameters for the Al(+)-RG and Tl(+)-RG complexes. Additionally, for some cases, we compare these parameters with those obtained from electronic spectroscopic studies on excited states of the neutral species, arising from atomic-based d ← p excitations. The Ga(+)-RG and In(+)-RG potentials have also been used to calculate the transport coefficients for M(+) traveling through a bath of RG atoms.  相似文献

We present the results of CCSD(T) calculations on the full set of Al(+)-RG complexes (RG = He-Rn). Potential energy curves are calculated pointwise, employing the full counterpoise correction and basis sets of quadruple-ζ and quintuple-ζ quality, and then extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. Each curve has been employed to calculate rovibrational energy levels, from which spectroscopic parameters have been derived. These are compared to the available experimental data, and it is seen that there is excellent agreement with the values obtained from both Rydberg state extrapolations and high-resolution laser-induced fluorescence studies. Finally, we have also used our potentials to calculate transport coefficients for Al(+) moving through a bath of RG.  相似文献

Potential energy curves for the interaction of B(+) ((1)S) with RG ((1)S), RG = He-Rn, have been calculated at the CCSD(T) level of theory employing quadruple-ζ and quintuple-ζ quality basis sets. The interaction energies from these curves were subsequently point-by-point extrapolated to the basis set limit. Rovibrational energy levels have been calculated for each extrapolated curve, from which spectroscopic parameters are determined. These are compared to previously determined experimental and theoretical values. The potentials have also been employed to calculate the transport coefficients for B(+) traveling through a bath of RG atoms. We also investigate the interactions between B(+) and the rare gases via contour plots, natural population analysis (NPA), and molecular orbital diagrams. In addition, we consider the atoms-in-molecules (AIM) parameters. The interactions here are compared and contrasted with those for Li(+)-He and Be(+)-RG; it is concluded that there is significant and increasing dative covalent bonding for the Be(+)-RG and B(+)-RG complexes for RG = Ar-Rn, while the other species are predominantly physically bound.  相似文献

Reaction of U(NEt(2))(4) with HS-2,4,6-(t)Bu(3)C(6)H(2) (HSMes) gave U(SMes)(3)(NEt(2))(py) (1), whereas similar treatment of U[N(SiMe(3))SiMe(2)CH(2)][N(SiMe(3))(2)](2) afforded U(SMes)[N(SiMe(3))(2)](3) (2) and U(SMes)(3)[N(SiMe(3))(2)]. The first neutral homoleptic uranium(IV) thiolate to have been crystallographically characterized, U(SMes)(4) (4), was isolated from the reaction of U(BH(4))(4) and KSMes. The first homoleptic thiolate complex of uranium(III), U(SMes)(3) (5), was synthesized by protonolysis of U[N(SiMe(3))(2)](3) with HSMes in cyclohexane. The crystal structure of 5 exhibits the novel eta(3) ligation mode for the arylthiolate ligand. Comparison of the crystal structure of 5 with those of the isomorphous lanthanide congeners Ln(SMes)(3) (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, and Nd) indicates that the U-S, U-C(ipso)(), and U-C(ortho)() bond lengths are shorter than the corresponding ones in the 4f-element analogues, when taking into account the variation in the ionic radii of the metals. The distance between the uranium and the carbon atoms involved in the U...H-C epsilon agostic interaction of each thiolate ligand is shorter, by approximately 0.05 A, than that expected from a purely ionic bonding model. The lanthanide(III)/actinide(III) differentiation was analyzed by density functional theory (DFT). The nature of the M-S bond is shown to be ionic strongly polarized at the sulfur for M = U and iono-covalent (i.e. strongly ionic with low orbital interaction), for M = Ln. The strength of the U...H-C epsilon agostic interaction is proposed to be controlled by the maximization of the interaction between U(+) and S(-) under steric constraints. The eta(3) ligation mode of the arylthiolate ligand is also obtained from DFT.  相似文献

Predissociation spectra of the H(5)O(2) (+)RG(n)(RG = Ar,Ne) cluster ions are reported in energy regions corresponding to both the OH stretching (3350-3850 cm(-1)) and shared proton (850-1950 cm(-1)) vibrations. The two free OH stretching bands displayed by the Ne complex are quite close to the band origins identified earlier in bare H(5)O(2) (+) [L. I. Yeh, M. Okumura, J. D. Myers, J. M. Price, and Y. T. Lee, J. Chem. Phys. 91, 7319 (1989)], indicating that the symmetrical H(5)O(2) (+) "Zundel" ion remains largely intact in H(5)O(2) (+)Ne. The low-energy spectrum of the Ne complex is simpler than that observed previously for H(5)O(2) (+)Ar, and is dominated by two sharp transitions at 928 and 1047 cm(-1), with a weaker feature at 1763 cm(-1). The H(5)O(2) (+)Ar(n),n = 1-5 spectra generally exhibit complex band structures reflecting solvent-induced symmetry breaking of the Zundel core ion. The extent of solvent perturbation is evaluated with electronic structure calculations, which predict that the rare gas atoms should attach to the spectator OH groups of H(5)O(2) (+) rather than to the shared proton. In the asymmetric complexes, the shared proton resides closer to the more heavily solvated water molecule, leading to redshifts in the rare gas atom-solvated OH stretches and to blueshifts in the shared proton vibrations. The experimental spectra are compared with recent full-dimensional vibrational calculations (diffusion Monte Carlo and multimode/vibrational configuration interaction) on H(5)O(2) (+). These results are consistent with assignment of the strong low-energy bands in the H(5)O(2) (+)Ne spectrum to the vibration of the shared proton mostly along the O-O axis, with the 1763 cm(-1) band traced primarily to the out-of-phase, intramolecular bending vibrations of the two water molecules.  相似文献

A new mixed-valence uranium germanate and the silicate analogue have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions at 600 °C and 165 MPa. Their crystal structures contain infinite -U(V)-O-U(IV/V)-O-U(IV/V)-O-U(V)- chains that are connected by Ge(2)O(7) or Si(2)O(7) groups to form a 3D framework with six-ring channels where the Cs(+) cations are located. Two of the Cs sites in the germanate are partially occupied. Bond-valence-sum calculation and an U 4f X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study confirm the valence states of the uranium.  相似文献

We present an X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) study of a series of uranium coordination complexes that possess nearly identical first coordination spheres and geometries in a range of oxidation states from U(III) to U(VI). These compounds were obtained through the activation of small molecules, such as ketones, azides, and carbon dioxide, and upon oxidation of a high-valent U(V)≡O to [U(VI)≡O](+). Most of the compounds have been reported previously. All of them are fully characterized and their oxidation states have been confirmed by various spectroscopic methods (SQUID, (1)H NMR, and UV/vis/near-IR). Each uranium complex consists of a triazacyclononane anchor bearing three aryloxide side arms with bulky tert-butyl (t-Bu) or adamantyl (Ad) ortho substituents. All complexes have approximate C(3) symmetry and possess an axial cavity that is either empty (U(III)) or occupied by a seventh ligand, namely, terminal oxygen (U(V) and U(VI)) or an oxygen-containing ligand (U(IV)). The only exception is [(((t-Bu)ArO)(3)tacnU(VI)(O)][SbF(6)], which is the rare case of a complex that shows a strong inverse trans influence. The determined correlation between the uranium oxidation state and the U L(III)-edge XANES absorption in this series includes a single terminal oxo ligand bonded uranium(V,VI), for which data are essentially nonexistent. The correct assignment of the uranium valence in a U(IV)-L(?-) compound (L(?-) = ketyl radical) is shown to be only possible by a comparison to structurally similar compounds.  相似文献

All the possible uranium(VI, V, IV) oxides, fluorides and oxofluorides were studied theoretically by using density functional theory (DFT) in the generalised gradient approximation (GGA), and three different relativistic methods (all-electron scalar four component Dyall RESC method (AE), relativistic small-core ECPs, and zeroth order regular approximation ZORA). In order to test different correlation methods, for the two former relativistic methods hybrid DFT, and, for the AE method, MP2 molecular orbital calculations were performed as well. Single-point AE-CCSD(T) energies were calculated on MP2 geometries as well. Energies of the uranium(VI) and (V) oxofluorides dissociation, uranium(VI) fluoride hydrolysis and oxofluoride disproportionation were calculated and compared against the available experimental thermochemical data. AE-CCSD(T) energies were the closest to the experiment. For GGA DFT methods, all the relativistic methods used yield similar results. For thermochemistry, the best quantitative agreement with the experimental and CCSD(T) values for both U=O and U-F bond strengths was obtained with hybrid DFT methods, provided that a reliable basis set was used. Both the GGA DFT and MP2 MO methods show overbinding of these bonds; moreover, this overbinding was found to be not uniform but strongly dependent on the coordination environment of the uranium atom in each case. U=O vibrational frequencies given by hybrid DFT, however, are systematically overestimated, and are better reproduced by GGA DFT; MP2 values usually fall in-between. Reaction enthalpies, U=O frequencies and complex geometries given by the PBE, MPBE, BPBE, BLYP and OLYP GGA functionals are quite similar, with OLYP performing slightly better than the others but still not as good as hybrid DFT. The geometries of the molecules are found to be influenced by the following factors: the inverse transinfluence (ITI) of the oxygen ligand and, for U(V), and U(IV), the Jahn-Teller distortion.  相似文献

Addition of organic azides, N(3)R (R = 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl (Mes), phenyl (Ph), 1-adamantyl (Ad)), to a solution of the uranium(III) alkyl complex, Tp*(2)U(CH(2)Ph) (Tp* = hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate) (1), results in the formation of a family of uranium(iv) imido derivatives, Tp*(2)U(NR) (2-R). Notably, these complexes were synthesized in high yields by coupling of the benzyl groups to form bibenzyl. The uranium(IV) imido derivatives, 2-Mes, 2-Ph, and 2-Ad, were all characterized by both (1)H NMR and IR spectroscopy, and 2-Mes and 2-Ad were also characterized by X-ray crystallography. In the molecular structure of 2-Mes, typical κ(3)-coordination of the Tp* ligands was observed; however in the case of 2-Ad, one pyrazole ring of a Tp* ligand has rotated away from the metal centre, forcing a κ(2)-coordination of the pyrazoles. This results in a uranium-hydrogen interaction with the Tp* B-H. Treating these imido complexes with para-tolualdehyde results in multiple bond metathesis, forming the terminal uranium(IV) oxo complex, Tp*(2)U(O), and the corresponding imine.  相似文献

Interaction potentials of the iodine atom, atomic cation, and anion with light rare-gas atoms from He to Ar are calculated within the unified ab initio approach using the unrestricted coupled-cluster with singles and doubles and perturbative treatment of triples correlation treatment, relativistic small-core pseudopotential, and an extended basis set. Ab initio points are fit to a flexible analytical function. The calculated potentials are compared with available literature data, assessed in the I(-)-and I+-ion mobility calculations and the Ar-I(-)-anion zero electron kinetic-energy spectra simulations, and analyzed using the correlation rules. The results indicate a high precision of the reported potentials.  相似文献

We measured the electrophoretic mobilities of HL-60RG cells and their apoptotic cells triggered by Actinomycin D as a function of the ionic strength of the suspending medium at pH 7.4. Both types of cells showed negative mobilities. The apoptotic HL-60RG cells exhibited larger mobility values in magnitude than intact HL-60RG cells in the whole range of the electrolyte concentration measured. The obtained data were analyzed via a mobility expression for soft particles, that is, colloidal particles with ionpenetrable surface layers. The observed mobility difference between the intact and apoptotic HL-60RG cells was found to be due mainly to the difference in friction exerted by the cell surface layers on the liquid flow around the cells between these two types of cells rather than the difference in charge density in their surface layers. A possible explanation for this mobility change by apoptosis is given.  相似文献

In this contribution we first report new ab initio self-consistent field configuration interaction calculations of the first excited adiabatic potential of (1)Σ(+) symmetry, the 2(1)Σ(+) or B(1)Σ(+) state, which presents two minima and can thus be seen as made up of the Rydberg E(1)Σ(+) and the valence V(1)Σ(+) states. Based on the computed 2(1)Σ(+) potential, we devised a theoretical procedure to compute the vibronic structure in order to try to explain the energy levels observed in the region above 76 254.4 cm(-1) which display an irregular vibrational structure, indicative of spectral perturbations. We try to find out which representation of the electronic states, the diabatic or the adiabatic one, is best suited to replicate the lowest observed vibronic levels of the E and V states. To this end, we deduce, from the 2(1)Σ(+) potential and its complementary adiabatic potential, two diabatic potentials. We then carry out a coupled equation treatment based on these diabatic potentials. The results of this treatment indicate that, in the present case, the adiabatic representation is better than the diabatic one to describe the observed vibronic levels. This is due, as expected, to the existence of a strong electrostatic interaction between the two diabatic potentials.  相似文献

The crystal structures of two trisiodide octacoordinated uranium(III) complexes of tris[(2-pyrazinyl)methyl]amine (tpza), which differ only by the ligand occupying the eighth coordination site (thf or MeCN), and of their lanthanum(III) analogues have been determined. In the acetonitrile adducts the M-N(pyrazine) distances are very similar for U(III) and La(III), while the U-N(acetonitrile) distance is 0.05 A shorter than the La-N(acetonitrile) distance. In the [M(tpza)I(3)(thf)] complexes in which the monodentate acetonitrile ligand, a weak pi-acceptor ligand, is replaced by a thf molecule, a sigma-donor only, the mean value of the distance U-N(pyrazine) is 0.05 A shorter than the mean value of the La-N(pyrazine) distance. Since we are comparing isostructural compounds of ions with very similar ionic radii, these differences indicate the presence of a stronger M-N interaction in the U(III) complexes and therefore suggest the presence of a covalent contribution to the U-N bonding. The selectivity of the tpza ligand toward U(III) complexation (with respect to that of La(III)) in the presence of sigma-donor-only ligands has been quantified by the value of K(U(tpza))/K(La(tpza)) measured to be 3.3 +/- 0.5. The analysis of the metal-N-donor ligand bonding was carried out by a quasi-relativistic density functional theory study on small model compounds, of formula I(3)M-L (M = La, Nd, U; L = acetonitrile, pyrazine) and I(3)M-(pyrazine)(3) (M = La, U). The structural data obtained from geometry optimizations on these systems reproduce experimental trends, i.e., a decrease in the M-N distance from La to U, combined with an increase of the C-N distance in the acetonitrile derivatives. A detailed orbital analysis carried out on the resulting optimized complexes did not reveal any orbital interaction between the trivalent lanthanide cations (Ln(3+)) and the N-donor ligands. In contrast, a back-donation electron transfer from 5f U(3+) orbitals to the pi* virtual orbital of the ligand was observed for both acetonitrile and pyrazine. Evaluation of the total bonding energy between the MI(3) and L fragments shows that this orbital interaction leads to a stabilization of the uranium(III) system compared to the lanthanide species.  相似文献

The hyperfine structures of the 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+), 3 (3)Sigma(g) (+), and 4 (3)Sigma(g) (+) states of Na(2) have been resolved with sub-Doppler continuous wave perturbation facilitated optical-optical double resonance spectroscopy via A (1)Sigma(u) (+) approximately b (3)Pi(u) mixed intermediate levels. The hyperfine patterns of these three states are similar. The hyperfine splittings of the low rotational levels are all very close to the case b(betaS) limit. As the rotational quantum number increases, the hyperfine splittings become more complicated and the coupling cases become intermediate between cases b(betaS) and b(beta J) due to spin-rotation interaction. We present a detailed analysis of the hyperfine structures of these three (3)Sigma(g) (+) states, employing both case b(betaS) and b(beta J) coupling basis sets. The results show that the hyperfine splittings of the (3)Sigma(g) (+) states are mainly due to the Fermi-contact interaction. The Fermi contact constants for the two d sigma Rydberg states, the 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+) and 4 (3)Sigma(g) (+), are 245+/-5 MHz and 225+/-5 MHz, respectively, while the Fermi contact constant of the s sigma 3 (3)Sigma(g) (+) Rydberg state is 210+/-5 MHz. The diagonal spin-spin and spin-rotation constants, and nuclear spin-electronic spin dipolar interaction parameters of the 3 (3)Sigma(g) (+) and 4 (3)Sigma(g) (+) states are also obtained.  相似文献

Biosorption of uranium from aqueous solution onto the free and entrapped algae, “Chlamydomonas reinhardtii” in carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) beads was investigated in a batch system using bare CMC beads as a control system. CMC can be a potential natural biosorbent for radionuclide removal as it contains carboxyl groups. However, limited information is available with the biosorption of uranium by CMC, when adsorption isotherm, kinetics and thermodynamics parameters are concerned. The biosorbent preparations were characterized by swelling tests, FTIR, and surface area studies. The effects of pH, temperature, ionic strength, biosorbent dosage, and initial uranium concentrations on uranium biosorption were investigated. Freely suspended algae exhibited the highest uranium uptake capacity with an initial uranium ion concentration of 1,000 mg/L at pH of 4.5 and at 25 °C. The removal of U(VI) ion from the aqueous solution with all the tested biosorbents increased as the initial concentration of U(VI) ion increased in the medium. Maximum biosorption capacities for free algal cells, entrapped algal cells, and bare CMC beads were found to be 337.2, 196.8, and 153.4 mg U(VI)/g, respectively. The kinetic studies indicated that the biosorption of U(VI) ion was well described by the pseudo-second order kinetic model. The variations in enthalpy and entropy for the tested biosorbent were calculated from the experimental data. The algal cells entrapped beads were regenerated using 10 mM HNO3, with up to 94 % recovery. Algal cells entrapped CMC beads is a low cost and a potential composite biosorbent with high biosorption capacity for the removal of U(VI) from waters.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations employing the coupled-cluster method, with single and double substitutions and accounting for triple excitations noniteratively [CCSD(T)], are used to obtain accurate potential energy curves for the K(+)He, K(+)Ne, K(+)Ar, K(+)Kr, K(+)Xe, and K(+)Rn cationic complexes. From these potentials, rovibrational energy levels and spectroscopic parameters are calculated. In addition, mobilities and diffusion coefficients for K(+) cations moving through the six rare gases are calculated, under conditions that match previous experimental determinations. A detailed statistical comparison of the present and previous potentials is made with available experimental data, and critical conclusions are drawn as to the reliability of each set of data. It is concluded that the present ab initio potentials match the accuracy of the best model potentials and the most reliable experimental data.  相似文献

The present paper deals with the retention of U(IV) and U(VI) species, both individually and in 1 :1 mixtures, on some ion-exchange resins of the normal DGA (N,N’,N’-tetra-n-octyldiglycolamide), TEVA- [trialkyl methyl-ammonium nitrate (or chloride)] and UTEVA-type (dipentyl pentylphosphonate), in different experimental conditions. The degree of retention, distribution constant, as well as enthalpy and entropy values which characterize the adsorption of uranium ions on these resins were calculated. By means of Langmuir relation, taking into account the experimental data, the maximum adsorption capacity, Langmuir constant and Gibbs free energy values for the studied processes are established.  相似文献

The redox behavior of tricyclopentadienyl- and phospholyluranium(IV) chloride complexes L(3)UCl with L = C(5)H(5) (Cp), C(5)H(4)Me (MeCp), C(5)H(4)SiMe(3) (TMSCp), C(5)H(4)(t)Bu ((t)BuCp), C(5)Me(5) (Cp*), and C(4)Me(4)P (tmp), has been investigated using relativistic density functional theory calculations, with the solvent being taken into account using the conductor-like screening model. A very good linear correlation (r(2) = 0.99) has been obtained between the computed electron affinities of the L(3)UCl complexes and the experimental half-wave reduction potentials E(1/2) related to the U(IV)/U(III) redox systems. From a computational point of view, our study confirms the crucial importance of spin-orbit coupling and solvent corrections and the use of an extended basis set in order to achieve the best experiment-theory agreement. Considering oxidation of the uranium(IV) complexes, the instability of the uranium(V) derivatives [L(3)UCl](+) is revealed, in agreement with experimental electrochemical findings. The driving roles of both the electron-donating ability of the L ligand and the U 5f orbitals on the redox properties of the complexes are brought to light. Interestingly, we found and explained the excellent correlation between variations of the uranium Hirschfeld charges following U(IV)/U(III) electron capture and E(1/2). In addition, this work allowed one to estimate theoretically the half-wave reduction potential of [Cp*(3)UCl].  相似文献

Micro-focused synchrotron radiation techniques to investigate actinide elements in geological samples are becoming an increasingly used tool in nuclear waste disposal research. In this article, results using mu-focus techniques are presented from a bore core section of a U-rich tertiary sediment collected from Ruprechtov, Czech Republic, a natural analog to nuclear waste repository scenarios in deep geological formations. Different methods are applied to obtain various, complementary information. Elemental and element chemical state distributions are obtained from micro-XRF measurements, oxidation states of As determined from micro-XANES, and the crystalline structure of selected regions are studied by means of micro-XRD. We find that preparation of the thin section created an As oxidation state artifact; it apparently changed the As valence in some regions of the sample. Results support our previously proposed hypothesis of the mechanism for U-enrichment in the sediment. AsFeS coating on framboid Fe nodules in the sediment reduced mobile groundwater-dissolved U(VI) to less-soluble U(IV), thereby immobilizing the uranium in the sediment.  相似文献

The gas-phase thermochemistry of actinide monosulfides, AnS, was investigated experimentally and theoretically. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry was employed to study the reactivity of An(+) and AnO(+) (An = Th, Pa, U, Np, Pu, Am and Cm) with CS(2) and COS, as well as the reactivity of the produced AnS(+) with oxidants (COS, CO(2), CH(2)O and NO). From these experiments, An(+)-S bond dissociation energies could be bracketed. Density functional theory studies of the energetics of neutral and monocationic AnS (An = Ac, Th, Pa, U, Np, Pu, Am and Cm) provided values for bond dissociation energies and ionization energies; the computed energetics of neutral and monocationic AnO were also obtained for comparison. The theoretical data, together with comparisons with known An(+)-O bond dissociation energies and M(+)-S and M(+)-O dissociation energies for the early transition metals, allowed for the refining of the An(+)-S bond dissociation energy ranges obtained from experiment. Examination of the reactivity of AnS(+) with dienes, coupled to comparisons with reactivities of the AnO(+) analogues, systematic considerations and the theoretical results, allowed for the estimation of the ionization energies of the AnS; the bond dissociation energies of neutral AnS were consequently derived. Estimates for the case of AcS were also made, based on correlations of the data for the other An and the electronic energetics of neutral and ionic An. The nature of the bonding in the elementary molecular actinide chalcogenides (oxides and sulfides) is discussed, based on both the experimental data and the computed electronic structures. DFT calculations of ionization energies for the actinide atoms and the diatomic sulfides and oxides are relatively reliable, but the calculation of bond dissociation energies is not uniformly satisfactory, either with DFT or CCSD(T). A key conclusion from both the experimental and theoretical results is that the 5f electrons do not substantially participate in actinide-sulfur bonding. We emphasize that actinides form strikingly strong bonds with both oxygen and sulfur.  相似文献
