Among various modifications of the permutation entropy defined as the Shannon entropy of the ordinal pattern distribution underlying a system, a variant based on Rényi entropies was considered in a few papers. This paper discusses the relatively new concept of Rényi permutation entropies in dependence of non-negative real number q parameterizing the family of Rényi entropies and providing the Shannon entropy for q=1. Its relationship to Kolmogorov–Sinai entropy and, for q=2, to the recently introduced symbolic correlation integral are touched.  相似文献

Recently, Savaré-Toscani proved that the Rényi entropy power of general probability densities solving the p-nonlinear heat equation in Rn is a concave function of time under certain conditions of three parameters n,p,μ , which extends Costa’s concavity inequality for Shannon’s entropy power to the Rényi entropy power. In this paper, we give a condition Φ(n,p,μ) of n,p,μ under which the concavity of the Rényi entropy power is valid. The condition Φ(n,p,μ) contains Savaré-Toscani’s condition as a special case and much more cases. Precisely, the points (n,p,μ) satisfying Savaré-Toscani’s condition consist of a two-dimensional subset of R3 , and the points satisfying the condition Φ(n,p,μ) consist a three-dimensional subset of R3 . Furthermore, Φ(n,p,μ) gives the necessary and sufficient condition in a certain sense. Finally, the conditions are obtained with a systematic approach.  相似文献

Fisher information, Rényi entropy power and Fisher–Rényi information product are presented for the Dicke model. There is a quantum phase transition in this quantum optical model. It is pointed out that there is an abrupt change in the Fisher information, Rényi entropy power, the Fisher, Shannon and Rényi lengths at the transition point. It is found that these quantities diverge as the characteristic length: |λc−λ|−1/4|λcλ|1/4 around the critical value of the coupling strength λcλc for any value of the parameter ββ.  相似文献

Uncovering causal interdependencies from observational data is one of the great challenges of a nonlinear time series analysis. In this paper, we discuss this topic with the help of an information-theoretic concept known as Rényi’s information measure. In particular, we tackle the directional information flow between bivariate time series in terms of Rényi’s transfer entropy. We show that by choosing Rényi’s parameter α, we can appropriately control information that is transferred only between selected parts of the underlying distributions. This, in turn, is a particularly potent tool for quantifying causal interdependencies in time series, where the knowledge of “black swan” events, such as spikes or sudden jumps, are of key importance. In this connection, we first prove that for Gaussian variables, Granger causality and Rényi transfer entropy are entirely equivalent. Moreover, we also partially extend these results to heavy-tailed α-Gaussian variables. These results allow establishing a connection between autoregressive and Rényi entropy-based information-theoretic approaches to data-driven causal inference. To aid our intuition, we employed the Leonenko et al. entropy estimator and analyzed Rényi’s information flow between bivariate time series generated from two unidirectionally coupled Rössler systems. Notably, we find that Rényi’s transfer entropy not only allows us to detect a threshold of synchronization but it also provides non-trivial insight into the structure of a transient regime that exists between the region of chaotic correlations and synchronization threshold. In addition, from Rényi’s transfer entropy, we could reliably infer the direction of coupling and, hence, causality, only for coupling strengths smaller than the onset value of the transient regime, i.e., when two Rössler systems are coupled but have not yet entered synchronization.  相似文献

This paper explores some applications of a two-moment inequality for the integral of the rth power of a function, where 0<r<1. The first contribution is an upper bound on the Rényi entropy of a random vector in terms of the two different moments. When one of the moments is the zeroth moment, these bounds recover previous results based on maximum entropy distributions under a single moment constraint. More generally, evaluation of the bound with two carefully chosen nonzero moments can lead to significant improvements with a modest increase in complexity. The second contribution is a method for upper bounding mutual information in terms of certain integrals with respect to the variance of the conditional density. The bounds have a number of useful properties arising from the connection with variance decompositions.  相似文献

This paper studies the properties of the derivatives of differential entropy H(Xt) in Costa’s entropy power inequality. For real-valued random variables, Cheng and Geng conjectured that for m1, (1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(Xt)0, while McKean conjectured a stronger statement, whereby (1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(Xt)(1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(XGt). Here, we study the higher dimensional analogues of these conjectures. In particular, we study the veracity of the following two statements: C1(m,n):(1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(Xt)0, where n denotes that Xt is a random vector taking values in Rn, and similarly, C2(m,n):(1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(Xt)(1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(XGt)0. In this paper, we prove some new multivariate cases: C1(3,i),i=2,3,4. Motivated by our results, we further propose a weaker version of McKean’s conjecture C3(m,n):(1)m+1(dm/dtm)H(Xt)(1)m+11n(dm/dtm)H(XGt), which is implied by C2(m,n) and implies C1(m,n). We prove some multivariate cases of this conjecture under the log-concave condition: C3(3,i),i=2,3,4 and C3(4,2). A systematic procedure to prove Cl(m,n) is proposed based on symbolic computation and semidefinite programming, and all the new results mentioned above are explicitly and strictly proved using this procedure.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish new (p,q)κ1-integral and (p,q)κ2-integral identities. By employing these new identities, we establish new (p,q)κ1 and (p,q)κ2- trapezoidal integral-type inequalities through strongly convex and quasi-convex functions. Finally, some examples are given to illustrate the investigated results.  相似文献

The rich history of prime numbers includes great names such as Euclid, who first analytically studied the prime numbers and proved that there is an infinite number of them, Euler, who introduced the function ζ(s)n=1ns=pprime11ps, Gauss, who estimated the rate at which prime numbers increase, and Riemann, who extended ζ(s) to the complex plane z and conjectured that all nontrivial zeros are in the R(z)=1/2 axis. The nonadditive entropy Sq=kipilnq(1/pi)(qR;S1=SBGkipilnpi, where BG stands for Boltzmann-Gibbs) on which nonextensive statistical mechanics is based, involves the function lnqzz1q11q(ln1z=lnz). It is already known that this function paves the way for the emergence of a q-generalized algebra, using q-numbers defined as xqelnqx, which recover the number x for q=1. The q-prime numbers are then defined as the q-natural numbers nqelnqn(n=1,2,3,), where n is a prime number p=2,3,5,7, We show that, for any value of q, infinitely many q-prime numbers exist; for q1 they diverge for increasing prime number, whereas they converge for q>1; the standard prime numbers are recovered for q=1. For q1, we generalize the ζ(s) function as follows: ζq(s)ζ(s)q (sR). We show that this function appears to diverge at s=1+0, q. Also, we alternatively define, for q1, ζq(s)n=11nqs=1+12qs+ and ζq(s)pprime11pqs=112qs113qs115qs, which, for q<1, generically satisfy ζq(s)<ζq(s), in variance with the q=1 case, where of course ζ1(s)=ζ1(s).  相似文献

For open systems derived from quadratic total Hamiltonians, we derive a dynamic fluctuation–dissipation (FD) inequality valid for any total initial state and without regard to the sign of the dissipation. With the added constraint that this state be factorized with the reservoir in thermal equilibrium, an uncertainty relation arises naturally from the FD inequality that can be stronger than the usual uncertainty principle in the form 〈q2〉〈p2〉??2/4q2p2??2/4. We discuss some of the properties of the uncertainty relation relevant to decoherence.  相似文献

In this work, we derive Born’s rule from the pilot-wave theory of de Broglie and Bohm. Based on a toy model involving a particle coupled to an environment made of “qubits” (i.e., Bohmian pointers), we show that entanglement together with deterministic chaos leads to a fast relaxation from any statistical distribution ρ(x) of finding a particle at point x to the Born probability law |Ψ(x)|2. Our model is discussed in the context of Boltzmann’s kinetic theory, and we demonstrate a kind of H theorem for the relaxation to the quantum equilibrium regime.  相似文献

A Dirichlet polynomial d in one variable y is a function of the form d(y)=anny++a22y+a11y+a00y for some n,a0,,anN. We will show how to think of a Dirichlet polynomial as a set-theoretic bundle, and thus as an empirical distribution. We can then consider the Shannon entropy H(d) of the corresponding probability distribution, and we define its length (or, classically, its perplexity) by L(d)=2H(d). On the other hand, we will define a rig homomorphism h:DirRect from the rig of Dirichlet polynomials to the so-called rectangle rig, whose underlying set is R0×R0 and whose additive structure involves the weighted geometric mean; we write h(d)=(A(d),W(d)), and call the two components area and width (respectively). The main result of this paper is the following: the rectangle-area formula A(d)=L(d)W(d) holds for any Dirichlet polynomial d. In other words, the entropy of an empirical distribution can be calculated entirely in terms of the homomorphism h applied to its corresponding Dirichlet polynomial. We also show that similar results hold for the cross entropy.  相似文献

In this investigation, for convex functions, some new (p,q)–Hermite–Hadamard-type inequalities using the notions of (p,q)π2 derivative and (p,q)π2 integral are obtained. Furthermore, for (p,q)π2-differentiable convex functions, some new (p,q) estimates for midpoint and trapezoidal-type inequalities using the notions of (p,q)π2 integral are offered. It is also shown that the newly proved results for p=1 and q1 can be converted into some existing results. Finally, we discuss how the special means can be used to address newly discovered inequalities.  相似文献

This present work explores the performance of a thermal–magnetic engine of Otto type, considering as a working substance an effective interacting spin model corresponding to the q state clock model. We obtain all the thermodynamic quantities for the q = 2, 4, 6, and 8 cases in a small lattice size (3×3 with free boundary conditions) by using the exact partition function calculated from the energies of all the accessible microstates of the system. The extension to bigger lattices was performed using the mean-field approximation. Our results indicate that the total work extraction of the cycle is highest for the q=4 case, while the performance for the Ising model (q=2) is the lowest of all cases studied. These results are strongly linked with the phase diagram of the working substance and the location of the cycle in the different magnetic phases present, where we find that the transition from a ferromagnetic to a paramagnetic phase extracts more work than one of the Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless to paramagnetic type. Additionally, as the size of the lattice increases, the extraction work is lower than smaller lattices for all values of q presented in this study.  相似文献

In recent decades, there has been an increasing trend toward the technical development of efficient energy system assessment tools owing to the growing energy demand and subsequent greenhouse gas emissions. Accordingly, in this paper, a comprehensive emergy-based exergoeconomic (emergoeconomic) method has been developed to study the biomass combustion waste heat recovery organic Rankine cycle (BCWHR-ORC), taking into account thermodynamics, economics, and sustainability aspects. To this end, the system was formulated in Engineering Equation Solver (EES) software, and then the exergy, exergoeconomic, and emergoeconomic analyses were conducted accordingly. The exergy analysis results revealed that the evaporator unit with 55.05 kilowatts and the turbine with 89.57% had the highest exergy destruction rate and exergy efficiency, respectively. Based on the exergoeconomic analysis, the cost per exergy unit (c), and the cost rate (C˙) of the output power of the system were calculated to be 24.13 USD/GJ and 14.19 USD/h, respectively. Next, by applying the emergoeconomic approach, the monetary emergy content of the system components and the flows were calculated to evaluate the system’s sustainability. Accordingly, the turbine was found to have the highest monetary emergy rate of capital investment, equal to 5.43×1012 sej/h, and an output power monetary emergy of 4.77×104 sej/J. Finally, a sensitivity analysis was performed to investigate the system’s overall performance characteristics from an exergoeconomic perspective, regarding the changes in the transformation coefficients (specific monetary emergy).  相似文献

Since the grand partition function Zq for the so-called q-particles (i.e., quons), q(1,1), cannot be computed by using the standard 2nd quantisation technique involving the full Fock space construction for q=0, and its q-deformations for the remaining cases, we determine such grand partition functions in order to obtain the natural generalisation of the Plank distribution to q[1,1]. We also note the (non) surprising fact that the right grand partition function concerning the Boltzmann case (i.e., q=0) can be easily obtained by using the full Fock space 2nd quantisation, by considering the appropriate correction by the Gibbs factor 1/n! in the n term of the power series expansion with respect to the fugacity z. As an application, we briefly discuss the equations of the state for a gas of free quons or the condensation phenomenon into the ground state, also occurring for the Bose-like quons q(0,1).  相似文献

This article estimates several integral inequalities involving (hm)-convexity via the quantum calculus, through which Important integral inequalities including Simpson-like, midpoint-like, averaged midpoint-trapezoid-like and trapezoid-like are extended. We generalized some quantum integral inequalities for q-differentiable (hm)-convexity. Our results could serve as the refinement and the unification of some classical results existing in the literature by taking the limit q1.  相似文献

This paper studies the effect of quantum computers on Bitcoin mining. The shift in computational paradigm towards quantum computation allows the entire search space of the golden nonce to be queried at once by exploiting quantum superpositions and entanglement. Using Grover’s algorithm, a solution can be extracted in time O(2256/t), where t is the target value for the nonce. This is better using a square root over the classical search algorithm that requires O(2256/t) tries. If sufficiently large quantum computers are available for the public, mining activity in the classical sense becomes obsolete, as quantum computers always win. Without considering quantum noise, the size of the quantum computer needs to be 104 qubits.  相似文献

Motivated by the needs of vortex methods, we describe three different exact or approximate solutions to the Poisson equation on the surface of a sphere when the forcing is a Gaussian of the three-dimensional distance, ∇2ψ=exp(-2?2(1-cos(θ))-CGauss(?)2ψ=exp(-2?2(1-cos(θ))-CGauss(?). (More precisely, the forcing is a Gaussian minus the “Gauss constraint constant”, CGaussCGauss; this subtraction is necessary because ψψ is bounded, for any type of forcing, only if the integral of the forcing over the sphere is zero [Y. Kimura, H. Okamoto, Vortex on a sphere, J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 56 (1987) 4203–4206; D.G. Dritschel, Contour dynamics/surgery on the sphere, J. Comput. Phys. 79 (1988) 477–483]. The Legendre polynomial series is simple and yields the exact value of the Gauss constraint constant, but converges slowly for large ??. The analytic solution involves nothing more exotic than the exponential integral, but all four terms are singular at one or the other pole, cancelling in pairs so that ψψ is everywhere nice. The method of matched asymptotic expansions yields simpler, uniformly valid approximations as series of inverse even powers of ?? that converge very rapidly for the large values of ?  (?>40)(?>40) appropriate for geophysical vortex computations. The series converges to a nonzero O(exp(-4?2))O(exp(-4?2)) error everywhere except at the south pole where it diverges linearly with order instead of the usual factorial order.  相似文献
