Acetaminophen is a well-known drug commonly used to provide pain relief, but it can also lead to acute liver failure at high concentrations. Therefore, there is considerable interest in monitoring its concentrations. Sensitive and selective acetaminophen electrochemical sensors were designed by cycling a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to high potentials in the presence of β-CD in a phosphate electrolyte, or by simply activating the GCE electrode in the phosphate solution. Using cyclic voltammetry, adsorption-like voltammograms were recorded. The acetaminophen oxidation product, N-acetyl benzoquinone imine, was protected from hydrolysis, and this was attributed to the adsorption of acetaminophen at the modified GCE. The rate constants for the oxidation of acetaminophen were estimated as 4.3 × 10–3 cm2 s–1 and 3.4 × 10–3 cm2 s–1 for the β-CD-modified and -activated electrodes, respectively. Using differential pulse voltammetry, the limit of detection was calculated as 9.7 × 10–8 M with a linear concentration range extending from 0.1 to 80 μM. Furthermore, good selectivity was achieved in the presence of caffeine, ascorbic acid and aspirin, enabling the determination of acetaminophen in a commercial tablet. Similar electrochemical data were obtained for both the β-CD-modified and activated GCE surfaces, suggesting that the enhanced detection of acetaminophen is connected mainly to the activation and oxidation of the GCE. Using SEM, EDX and FTIR, no evidence was obtained to indicate that the β-CD was electropolymerised at the GCE. 相似文献

Aqueous solutions of -cyclodextrin (-CD) or 2,6-di-o-methyl--cyclodextrin (DM--CD) and dodecylethyldimethylammonium bromide (D 12EDMAB) have been studied from speed of sound ( u) data at 298.15 K, using a pulse-echo-overlap technique. The molecular encapsulation process of the surfactant monomer into the cyclodextrin cavity and its effect in the micellization process of the surfactant have been analyzed from the u measurements: I) as a function of [D 12EDMAB] in the presence of several initial cyclodextrin concentrations (-CD or.DM--CD); II) as a function of [cyclodextrin] (-CD or DM--CD), for an initial micellar solution of D 12EDMAB and; III) as a function of the [cyclodextrin]/[surfactant] stoichiometric concentrations. Both inclusion complexes formed (-CDD 12EDMAB) and (DM--CDD 12EDMAB) have stoichiometries of 11, and their association constant K have been determined using a model proposed in this work, based on the additivity of the different contributions of the involved species to the speed of sound. The apparent critical micellar concentration, cmc *, of D 12EDMAB is found to increase linearly upon the addition of cyclodextrin (-CD or DM--CD). The free surfactant concentration in the micellar region, [D 12EDMAB] f, decreases in the presence of -CD and slightly increases in the presence of DM--CD. The influence of the parcial methylation of the -cyclodextrin (-CDDM--CD) and of the polar head of the surfactant (D 12TAB D 12EDMAB) on the complextion and micellar parameters are also discussed.Supplementary material available: Tables of speed of sound (14 pages) are available from the authors. 相似文献

Crystallization of glutaric anhydride in the presence of β-cyclodextrin (βCD) from aqueous solution resulted in crystals of the glutaric acid/βCD inclusion complex. The result was verified by NMR spectroscopic experiments, which moreover showed that βCD does not protect glutaric anhydride from hydrolysis. The structure determination by X-ray crystallography revealed a host:guest ratio of 1:1 and crystal packing identical to that of natural βCD, i.e., herring bone packing, as is common for guest molecules of small size. Glutaric acid has partial occupancy in the complex and it is disordered in three positions and conformations inside the cavity. All three conformations are stabilised by: (a) Interactions among its carboxyl groups and the host’s primary side hydroxyls pointing towards the cavity, thus justifying the conformations of the latter and (b) by two water molecules located on either side of the cavity, as well as hydroxyl groups of neighbouring hosts. In all conformations the guest is not extended, oxygen atoms between the two carboxyl groups being within H-bond distance. 相似文献

It is established that the rate of peroxidase-catalyzed oxidation of flavonoid quercetin is increased by 20% in the presence
of macrocyclic complexing agent β-cyclodextrin. The comparison of the kinetic parameters of the indicated reaction in the
presence and in the absence of β-cyclodextrin shows that its introduction does not significantly influence the specificity
of the enzyme with respect to the reducing substrate (characterized as k
cat/ K
M ratio), while the increase in the reaction rate does not depend on the duration of the incubation of quercetin with β-cyclodextrin.
It is assumed that the increase of the reaction rate is associated with nonspecific interaction between β-cyclodextrin and
quercetin oxidation product. 相似文献

The inclusion complexation behavior and its characterization of Desipramine (DP) with β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) in solution phase are analyzed by UV and fluorescence spectroscopy. The solid inclusion complex is characterized by FT-IR, SEM, Powder XRD and TG/DTA. The stoichiometric ratio of the complexation is found to be 1:1. The orientation and structure of the complex are proposed based on the analysis of Patch-Dock server. The formation of inclusion complex has been confirmed on the base of the changes of spectroscopic properties will be encapsulated in partly either by any aromatic ring or by the aliphatic side chain. But our results showed that the aliphatic group of DP is in the cavity of β-CD.β-CD encapsulation and enhances the in-vitro cytotoxicityeffect of DP compound by forming inclusion complex in the solid state. 相似文献

SAPO-34 molecular sieves were synthesized by the addition of β-cyclodextrin(β-CD) as crystal growth inhibitor using metakaolin as silicon and aluminum sources. Properties of the obtained samples were characterized by XRD,SEM,N2adsorption–desorption,FTIR,XRF,EDX,NH293-TPD andSi MAS NMR. When β-CD was added, crystal size of the SAPO-34 crystals decreased. Variation of Si content from the crystal center to surface decreased while total Si content hardly changed.29 Si MAS NMR results showed that β-CD contributed to better Si dispersion and decreased the size of Si(4Si) patches. Moreover, the MTO(methanol-to-olefin) process was conducted to investigate the influence of β-CD on catalytic performance. The synthesized sample with molar ratio of β-CD/Al2O3 equaling 0.055 remained active for 610 min while the sample synthesized without β-CD for only 280 min, which indicates that the lifetime of catalyst synthesized with β-CD is greatly prolonged. 相似文献

The difference in the peak potentials of In(III) and Cd(II), whose reduction potentials are very close to each other, becomes large in the presence of poly beta-cyclodextrin in sodium perchlorate medium. The relationships between the peak currents for these two ions and their concentrations are linear, suggesting that the simultaneous determination of the ions is possible in the presence of this reagent. 相似文献

β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) can induce a-bromonaphthalene (BrN) to emit strong room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) in the presence of micro amounts of cyclohexane (c-hexane). Experiments of luminescence spectra, phosphorescence lifetime and fluorescence polarization prove the formation of c-hexane/β-CD/BrN ternary inclusion complex. The apparent formation constant of the ternary inclusion complex was determined and the effect mechanism of c-hexane on the RTP of BrN induced by β-CD is discussed. 相似文献

Studies on the effect of -cyclodextrin (BCD) and its derivatives on the selectivity in hydroxymethylation of guaiacol by formaldehyde was carried out. Fairly high selectivity with respect to isovanillyl alcohol formation was achieved. Significantly, the selectivity-enhancing effects of 2,6-di- O-methyl-BCD was much larger, giving rise to 22% more of isovanillyl alcohol formation than BCD and its polymer. UV, fluorescence, 1H-NMR spectroscopic and potentiometric studies were also carried out to determine the orientation of guaiacol inside the BCD cavity. 相似文献

As established, α-tocopherol is electrochemically active on glassy carbon electrode in the available range of anodic potentials in acetonitrile and its aqueous mixtures. However, an increase in the water percentage up to 50% and beyond leads to a substantial decrease and then the total disappearance of the analytical signal. A scheme of electrode reaction responsible for the signal formation is proposed. The effect of surfactants on the oxidation of α-tocopherol in aqueous acetonitrile is estimated. As found, surfactants ( N-dodecylpyridinium bromide, Triton X-100 and N-cetylpyridinium bromide) enhance the current of α-tocopherol oxidation. The surfactants reduce the detection limit and extend the analytical range. Analytical methods for the voltammetric quantification of α-tocopherol in drugs in the presence of surfactants are elaborated and may be recommended for the control of pharmaceuticals. 相似文献

The X-ray structure and thermal stability of a -cyclodextrin inclusion complex of the antidepressant paroxetine [(3S-trans)-3-[(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yloxy)methyl]-4-(4-fluorophenyl)piperidine], with the formula ( -cyclodextrin) 2...paroxetine...28H 2O, are reported. On heating, the crystals dehydrate in two stages and begin to decompose from approximately 270 °C. An X-ray diffraction study at 173K showed that the complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2 1 with a = 15.2262(3), b = 31.4771(1), c = 15.6739(1) Å, = 104.320(1)° and Z = 2 formula units. Refinement on F 2 converged at R1 = 0.066, wR 2 = 0.182 (21478 reflections). On encapsulation within a head-to-head -cyclodextrin dimer, the paroxetine molecule adopts an unusual `hairpin' conformation, stabilised by intramolecular ... interaction between the phenyl rings. The guest piperidine ring is located at the primary face of one host molecule of the dimer while the fluorophenyl and benzodioxole moieties respectively occupy the dimer interfacial region and the cavity of the second host molecule. Experimental and computed X-ray powder diffraction patterns for the complex are also reported. The mode of stacking of the dimeric complex units is shown to be one of at least three distinct variants which can be identified for -cyclodextrin complexes with similar unit cell dimensions and crystallizing in the same space group. 相似文献

N-substituted azepines were synthesized for the first time in water under neutral conditions by the reaction of aromatic amines, dimethyl/diethyl acetylene dicarboxylate, 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuran mediated by β-cyclodextrin in high yields. β-Cyclodextrin can be recovered and reused with just a small loss of catalytic activity. 相似文献

In this work, a simple, reliable, and fast capillary electrophoretic method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of 12 polyphenolic compounds, the most frequently found in carob's pulp and seeds. The present work deals with the development of a novel dual electrophoretic system based on the combined use of β-CD and ionic liquid (IL) as buffer additives. A baseline separation of the target analytes was achieved in less than 10 min by using a BGE consisting of 35 mM borate along with 15 mM β-CD and 3 mM l -alanine tert butyl ester lactate (l -AlaC 4Lac) IL as buffer additives at pH 9.5, a temperature of 25°C, and an applied voltage of 30 kV. The application of the developed electrophoretic method to real samples enabled the identification and quantification of the main phenolic constituents of both ripe and unripe carob pulp extracts. The results revealed the predominance of gallic acid in both ripe (183.92 μg/g carob pulp) and unripe (205.10 μg/g carob pulp) carob pulp and highlighted the great influence of the ripening stage on carobs polyphenolic composition, with unripe pods being more enriched in polyphenols (total phenolics detected: 912.58 and 283.13 μg/g unripe and ripe carob pulp). 相似文献

An efficient and facile method for the synthesis of N-substituted pyrroles in moderate to good yields by the Paal–Knorr reaction of γ-diketones with amines in the presence of β-cyclodextrin in aqueous media has been developed. Moreover, this process tolerated diamines(e.g.,para-,meta- or orthophenylenediamine)to construct bis-pyrrole or mono-pyrrole derivates.β-Cyclodextrin can be recovered easily after the reactions and reused without evident loss in activity. 相似文献

We herein report a β-cyclodextrin-based secondary assembly (β-CD SA) obtained from an aqueous solution. It was found that the addition of a very small amount of organic molecule 2-phenyl-5-(4-diphenylyl) 1,3,4-oxadiazole (PBD) into an aqueous solution of 10 mM β-CD led to the formation of a micrometer-sized rodlike SA, which made the mixture turbid immediately. After careful characterization, the structure and the formation mechanism of the β-CD SA were suggested. PBD first induces β-CDs to form rigid nanotubes through head-to-head or tail-to-tail routes. Using the "solid" nanotubes as recrystallization centers, other β-CDs assembled to channel in the c axis direction and hexagonally aligned in the b axis direction, leading to the formation of a β-CD SA. In the β-CD SA, most of the β-CDs were not occupied by PBD. In the course of formation , intermolecular hydrogen-bonding plays a prominent role. The results reported herein would be helpful in constructing cyclodextrin-based architectures in water. 相似文献

Two models namely A and B were considered to investigate the inclusion process of ethylparaben into β-CD cavity by means PM3, HF/6-31G (d) and B3LYP/6-31G (d). The obtained results with PM3 method clearly indicate that the formed complexes are energetically favored with or without solvent; the B complex is found more favored than A complex. The calculated deformations energies show that the geometry of β-CD is deformed in the complexation process on the other hand the ethylparaben do not undergo deformation. Finally, From NBO analysis, the donor and acceptor interactions between ethylparaben and β-CD were analyzed and discussed. 相似文献

Immobilization of β-cyclodextrin on Dowex resin as an insoluble polymeric matrix by covalent bond presents a new solid-phase medium for preconcentration of Pb (II) at trace level in environmental samples prior to its flame atomic absorption spectrometric determination. The method is based on the sorption of lead after passing on modified Dowex sorbent in a column. The effect of several parameters such as pH, flow rate of sample, eluent kind and volume was investigated. The sorption capacity of the matrix has been found to be 0.4996?mg?g ?1 of adsorbent with the preconcentration factor of 250 for Pb (II). Nitric acid (3 M) as an eluent was sufficient to obtain quantitative recovery (>95%) for Pb (II). The optimum flow rate was 10?ml?min ?1. The calibration curve was linear in the range of (3–250?ng?mL ?1) with a correlation coefficient of 0.9995. The limit of detection (LOD) based on three times the standard deviation of the blank was 1.37?ng?mL ?1. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for determination of 10?ng?mL ?1 and 100?ngmL ?1 of Pb (II) was 3.00 % and 0.58 % ( n?=?10), respectively. The method was successfully applied to determination of lead in some environmental samples such as tap water, river water, soil and rice. 相似文献

The crystal structures of the inclusion compounds of thymol, carvacrol and eugenol, (components of essential oils of vegetable origin) in β-cyclodextrin have been determined. Thymol/β-CD crystallizes in the space group P1 containing two host molecules in its asymmetric unit whereas both carvacrol/β-CD and eugenol/β-CD complexes crystallize in the space group C2. In all three complexes two host molecules form head-to-head dimers their guest/host stoichiometry being: 1/2 (carvacrol/β-CD), 2/2 (thymol/β-CD) and 3/2 (eugenol/β-CD). In the cases of the thymol/β-CD and the carvacrol/β-CD complexes the β-CD dimers are arranged according to the channel packing mode. The accommodation of the geometrical isomer guests is performed solely by their hydrophobic groups revealing the leading role of the hydrophobic driving forces in the complexation process whereas the position of their hydroxyl group affects the stoichiometry of the formed dimeric complexes. In the case of the eugenol/β-CD dimeric complex one guest molecule is found lying between the β-CD groups in a sandwich fashion whereas the other two symmetry related guests protrude outwards the narrower rim of the hosts with only their hydrophobic allyl-chain located inside the hosts’ cavities. This arrangement prohibits the formation of a channel and the observed crystal packing is that of a Tetrad mode. 相似文献
