The ligand 1,4,8-tri-N-methyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane-11-acetic acid (Me3cyclam-acetic acid) has been synthesized by Eschweiler-Clarke methylation of cyclam-acetic acid, and the iron(III) complex [(Me3cyclam-acetate)FeN3]PF6, 1, has been synthesized, which has been found to have significantly different properties than its unmethylated analogue, [(cyclam-acetate)FeN3]PF6, 2. Whereas the iron ion in 2 is low spin with S = 1/2, 1 is found to be high spin at temperatures above 100 K, though low-spin species are observed at lower temperatures, indicating a spin crossover phenomenon. The iron(II) species 1red is electrochemically more accessible than 2red since the Fe2+/3+ redox wave in 1 appears approximately 350 mV more positive than the corresponding wave in 2. Also, 1 displays a reversible Fe3+/4+ redox wave, which is irreversible in 2, denoting that the Fe(IV) species 1ox is kinetically stable. 1red and 1ox have been generated electrochemically in solution and studied spectroscopically. M?ssbauer spectroscopy has confirmed that, in both reduction and oxidation, iron is the redox center, that 1red is high spin (S = 2), and that 1ox is low spin (S = 1), in contrast to 2red which is low spin and 2ox which could not be isolated.  相似文献

The symmetrically ligated complexes 1, 2, and 3 with a (mu-oxo)bis(mu-acetato)diferric core can be one-electron oxidized electrochemically or chemically with aminyl radical cations [*NR3][SbCl6] in acetonitrile yielding complexes which contain the mixed-valent [(mu-oxo)bis(mu-acetato)iron(IV)iron(III)]3+ core: [([9]aneN3)(2FeIII2)(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2](ClO4)2 (1(ClO4)2), [(Me3[9]aneN3)(2FeIII2)(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2](PF6)2 (2(PF6)(2)), and [(tpb)(2FeIII2)(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2] (3) where ([9]aneN3) is the neutral triamine 1,4,7-triazacyclononane and (Me3[9]aneN3) is its tris-N-methylated derivative, and (tpb)(-) is the monoanion trispyrazolylborate. The asymmetrically ligated complex [(Me3[9]aneN3)FeIII(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2FeIII(tpb)](PF6) (4(PF6)) and its one-electron oxidized form [4ox]2+ have also been prepared. Finally, the known heterodinuclear species [(Me3[9]aneN3)CrIII(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2Fe([9]aneN3)](PF6)2 (5(PF6)(2)) can also be one-electron oxidized yielding [5ox]3+ containing an iron(IV) ion. The structure of 4(PF6).0.5CH3CN.0.25(C2H5)2O has been determined by X-ray crystallography and that of [5ox]2+ by Fe K-edge EXAFS-spectroscopy (Fe(IV)-O(oxo): 1.69(1) A; Fe(IV)-O(carboxylato) 1.93(3) A, Fe(IV)-N 2.00(2) A) contrasting the data for 5 (Fe(III)-O(oxo) 1.80 A; Fe(III)-O(carboxylato) 2.05 A, Fe-N 2.20 A). [5ox]2+ has an St = 1/2 ground state whereas all complexes containing the mixed-valent [FeIV(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2FeIII]3+ core have an St = 3/2 ground state. M?ssbauer spectra of the oxidized forms of complexes clearly show the presence of low spin FeIV ions (isomer shift approximately 0.02 mm s(-1), quadrupole splitting approximately 1.4 mm s(-1) at 80 K), whereas the high spin FeIII ion exhibits delta approximately 0.46 mm s(-1) and DeltaE(Q) approximately 0.5 mm s(-1). M?ssbauer, EPR spectral and structural parameters have been calculated by density functional theoretical methods at the BP86 and B3LYP levels. The exchange coupling constant, J, for diiron complexes with the mixed-valent FeIV-FeIII core (H = -2J S1.S2; S(1) = 5/2; S2 = 1) has been calculated to be -88 cm(-1) (intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling) and for the reduced diferric form of -75 cm(-1) in reasonable agreement with experiment (J = -120 cm(-1)).  相似文献

Reaction of the monoanionic, pentacoordinate ligand lithium 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane-1-acetate, Li(cyclam-acetate), with FeCl3 yields, upon addition of KPF6, [(cyclam-acetato)FeCl]PF6 (1) as a red microcrystalline solid. Addition of excess NaN3 prior to addition of KPF6 yields the azide derivative [(cyclam-acetato)FeN3]PF6 (2a) as orange microcrystals. The X-ray crystal structure of the azide derivative has been determined as the tetraphenylborate salt (2b). Reaction of 1 with silver triflate yields [(cyclam-acetato)Fe(O3SCF3)]PF6 (3), which partially dissociates triflate in nondried solvents to yield a mixture of triflate and aqua bound species. Each of the iron(III) derivatives is low-spin (d5, S = 1/2) as determined by variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements, M?ssbauer and EPR spectroscopy. The low-spin iron(II) (d6, S = 0) complexes 1red and 2ared have been prepared by electrochemical and chemical methods and have been characterized by M?ssbauer spectroscopy. Photolysis of 2a at 419 nm in frozen acetonitrile yields a nearly colorless species in approximately 80% conversion with an isomer shift delta = -0.04 mm/s and a quadrupole splitting delta EQ = -1.67 mm/s. A spin-Hamiltonian analysis of the magnetic M?ssbauer spectra is consistent with an FeV ion (d3, S = 3/2). The proposed [(cyclam-acetato)FeV=N]+ results from the photooxidation of 2a via heterolytic N-N cleavage of coordinated azide. Photolysis of 2a in acetonitrile solution at -35 degrees C (300 nm) or 20 degrees C (Hg immersion lamp) results primarily in photoreduction via homolytic Fe-Nazide cleavage yielding FeII (d,6 S = 0) with an isomer shift delta = 0.56 mm/s and quadrupole splitting delta EQ = 0.54 mm/s. A minor product containing high-valent iron is suggested by M?ssbauer spectroscopy and is proposed to originate from [((cyclam-acetato)Fe)2(mu-N)]2+ with a mixed-valent (FeIV(mu-N)FeIII))4+S = 1/2 core. Exposure of 3 to a stream of oxygen/ozone at low temperatures (-80 degrees C) in acetone/water results in a single oxidized product with an isomer shift delta = 0.01 mm/s and quadrupole splitting delta EQ = 1.37 mm/s. A spin-Hamiltonian analysis of the magnetic M?ssbauer yields parameters similar to those of compound II of horseradish peroxidase which are consistent with an FeIV=O monomeric complex (S = 1).  相似文献

We report a high yield, two-step synthesis of fac-[Ru(bpy)(CH3CN)3NO2]PF6 from the known complex [(p-cym)Ru(bpy)Cl]PF6 (p-cym = eta(6)-p-cymene). [(p-cym)Ru(bpy)NO2]PF6 is prepared by reacting [(p-cymene)Ru(bpy)Cl]PF6 with AgNO3/KNO2 or AgNO2. The 15NO2 analogue is prepared using K15NO2. Displacement of p-cymene from [(p-cym)Ru(bpy)NO2]PF6 by acetonitrile gives [Ru(bpy)(CH3CN)3NO2]PF6. The new complexes [(p-cym)Ru(bpy)NO2]PF6 and fac-[Ru(bpy)(CH3CN)3NO2]PF6 have been fully characterized by 1H and 15N NMR, IR, elemental analysis, and single-crystal structure determination. Reaction of [Ru(bpy)(CH3CN)3NO2]PF6 with the appropriate ligands gives the new complexes [Ru(bpy)(Tp)NO2] (Tp = HB(pz)3-, pz = 1-pyrazolyl), [Ru(bpy)(Tpm)NO2]PF6 (Tpm = HC(pz)3), and the previously prepared [Ru(bpy)(trpy)NO2]PF6 (trpy = 2,2',6',2' '-terpyridine). Reaction of the nitro complexes with HPF6 gives the new nitrosyl complexes [Ru(bpy)TpNO][PF6]2 and [Ru(bpy)(Tpm)NO][PF6]3. All complexes were prepared with 15N-labeled nitro or nitrosyl groups. The nitro and nitrosyl complexes were characterized by 1H and 15N NMR and IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, cyclic voltammetry, and single-crystal structure determination for [Ru(bpy)TpNO][PF6]2. For the nitro complexes, a linear correlation is observed between the nitro 15N NMR chemical shift and 1/nu(asym), where nu(asym) is the asymmetric stretching frequency of the nitro group.  相似文献

The dinuclear mixed-valent complex [(MeC5H4)(dmpe)MnC(2)Mn(dmpe)(C5H4Me)](+)[(eta2-MeC5H4)3Mn](-)[1](+)[2]- (dmpe=1,2-bis(dimethylphosphanyl)ethane) was prepared by the reaction of [Mn(MeC5H4)2] with dmpe and Me(3)SnC[triple chemical bond]CSnMe3. The reactions of [1](+)[2]- with K[PF6] and Na[BPh4] yielded the corresponding anion metathesis products [(MeC5H4)(dmpe)MnC2Mn(dmpe)(C5H4Me)][PF6] ([1][PF6]) and [(MeC5H4)(dmpe)MnC2Mn(dmpe)(C5H4Me)][BPh4] ([1][BPh4]). These mixed-valent species can be reduced to the neutral form by reaction with Na/Hg. The obtained complex [(MeC5H4)(dmpe)MnC2Mn(dmpe)(C5H4Me)] (1) displays a triplet/singlet spin equilibrium in solution and in the solid state, which was additionally studied by DFT calculations. The diamagnetic dicationic species [(MeC5H4)(dmpe)MnC2Mn(dmpe)(C5H4Me)][PF6]2 ([1][PF6]2) was obtained by oxidizing the mixed-valent complex [1][PF6] with one equivalent of [Fe(C5H5)2][PF6]. Both redox processes are fully reversible. The dinuclear compounds were characterized by NMR, IR, UV-visible, and Raman spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. X-ray diffraction studies were performed on [1][2], [1][PF6], [1][BPh4], and [1][PF6]2.  相似文献

The well-known tetradentate ligand 1,2-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)benzenate(2-), (bpb)2-, and its 4,5-dichloro analogue, (bpc)2-, are shown to be "noninnocent" ligands in the sense that in coordination compounds they can exist in their radical one- and diamagnetic two-electron-oxidized forms (bpbox1)- and (bpbox2)0 (and (bpcox1)- and (bpcox2)0), respectively. Photolysis of high-spin [(n-Bu)4N][FeIII(bpb)(N3)2] and its (bpc)2- analogue in acetone solution at room temperature generates the diamagnetic dinuclear complex [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)2(N3)2] and its (bpc)2- analogue; the corresponding cyano complex [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)2(CN)2] has been prepared via N3- substitution by CN-. Photolysis in frozen acetonitrile solution produces a low-spin ferric species (S = 1/2) which presumably is [FeIII(bpbox2)(N)(N3)]-, as has been established by EPR and M?ssbauer spectroscopy. The mononuclear complexes [(n-Bu)4N][FeIII(bpb)(CN2)] (low spin), [Et4N][CoIII(bpb)(CN)2] and Na[CoIII(bpc)-(CN)2].3CH3OH can be electrochemically or chemically one-electron-oxidized to give [FeIII(bpbox1)(CN)2]0 (S = 0), [CoIII(bpbox1)(CN)2]0 (S = 1/2), and [CoIII(bpcox1)(CN)2]0 (S = 1/2). All complexes have been characterized by UV-vis, EPR, and M?ssbauer spectroscopy, and their electro- and magnetochemistries have been studied. The crystal structures of [(n-Bu)4N][FeIII(bpb)(N3)2].1/2C6H6CH3, Na[FeIII(bpb)(CN)2], Na[CoIII(bpc)(CN)2].3CH3OH, [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)2(CN)2], and [(n-Bu)4N][FeIV2(mu-N)(bpb)(N3)2] have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The new pincer ligand 2,6-bis[(1,3-di-tert-butylimidazolin-2-imino)methyl]pyridine (TL(tBu)) has been prepared in high yield from 2,6-bis(hydroxymethyl)pyridine (1) and 1,3-di-tert-butylimidazolin-2-imine (3). Reaction of TL(tBu) with [Cu(MeCN)4]PF6 affords the highly reactive copper(I) complex [(TL(tBu))Cu]PF6, [5]PF6, which forms the stable copper(I) isocyanide complexes [6a]PF6 (nu(CN) = 2179 cm(-1)) and [6b]PF6 (nu(CN) = 2140 cm(-1)) upon addition of tert-butyl or 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide, respectively. For the cations 6a and 6b, DFT calculations reveal ground-state electronic structures of the type [(TL(tBu)-kappaN(1):kappaN(2))Cu(CNR)] with tricoordinate geometries around the copper atoms. Exposure of [5]PF6 to the air readily leads to trapping of atmospheric CO2 to form the square-planar complex [(TL(tBu))Cu(HCO3-kappaO)]PF6, [7]PF6, with the bicarbonate ligand adopting a rarely observed monodentate coordination mode. In chlorinated solvents such as dichloromethane or chloroform, [5]PF(6) rapidly abstracts chloride by reductive dechlorination of the solvent to yield [(TL(tBu))CuCl]PF6, [8]PF6 quantitatively. Reaction of TL(tBu) with copper(I) bromide or chloride affords complexes 9a and 9b, respectively, for which X-ray diffraction analysis, low-temperature NMR experiments and DFT calculations reveal the presence of a kappa(2)-coordinated ligand of the type [(TL(tBu)-kappaN(1):kappaN(2))CuX]. In solution, complex 9b undergoes slow disproportionation forming the mixed-valence copper(II)/copper(I) system [(TL(tBu))CuCl][CuCl2], [8]CuCl2 with a linear dichlorocuprate(I) counterion.  相似文献

Low-spin nickel(II) complexes containing bidentate ligands with modulated nitrogen donor ability, Py(Bz)2 or MePy(Bz)2 (Py(Bz)2 = N,N-bis(benzyl)-N-[(2-pyridyl)methyl]amine, MePy(Bz)2 = N,N-bis(benzyl)-N-[(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)methyl]amine), and a beta-diketonate derivative, tBuacacH (tBuacacH = 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedione), represented as [Ni(Py(Bz)2)(tBuacac)](PF6) (1) and [Ni(MePy(Bz)2)(tBuacac)](PF6) (2) have been synthesized. In addition, the corresponding high-spin nickel(II) complexes having a nitrate ion, [Ni(Py(Bz)2)(tBuacac)(NO3)] (3) and [Ni(MePy(Bz)2)(tBuacac)(NO3)] (4), have also been synthesized for comparison. Complexes 1 and 2 have tetracoordinate low-spin square-planar structures, whereas the coordination environment of the nickel ion in 4 is a hexacoordinate high-spin octahedral geometry. The absorption spectra of low-spin complexes 1 and 2 in a noncoordinating solvent, dichloromethane (CH2Cl2), display the characteristic absorption bands at 500 and 540 nm, respectively. On the other hand, the spectra of a CH2Cl2 solution of high-spin complexes 3 and 4 exhibit the absorption bands centered at 610 and 620 nm, respectively. The absorption spectra of 1 and 2 in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), being a coordinating solvent, are quite different from those in CH2Cl2, which are nearly the same as those of 3 and 4 in CH2Cl2. This result indicates that the structures of 1 and 2 are converted from a low-spin square-planar to a high-spin octahedral configuration by the coordination of two DMF molecules to the nickel ion. Moreover, complex 1 shows thermochromic behavior resulting from the equilibrium between low-spin square-planar and high-spin octahedral structures in acetone, while complex 2 exists only as a high-spin octahedral configuration in acetone at any temperature. Such drastic differences in the binding constants and thermochromic properties can be ascribed to the enhancement of the acidity of the nickel ion of 2 by the steric effect of the o-methyl group in the MePy(Bz)2 ligand in 2, which weakens the Ni-N(pyridine) bond length compared with that of the nonsubstituted Py(Bz)2 ligand in 1.  相似文献

Relatively little is known about the kinetics or the pharmacological potential of organometallic complexes of osmium compared to its lighter congeners, iron and ruthenium. We report the synthesis of seven new complexes, [(eta6-arene)Os(NN)Cl]+, containing different bidentate nitrogen (N,N) chelators, and a dichlorido complex, [(eta6-arene)Os(N)Cl2]. The X-ray crystal structures of seven complexes are reported: [(eta6-bip)Os(en)Cl]PF6 (1PF6), [(eta6-THA)Os(en)Cl]BF4 (2BF4), [(eta6-p-cym)Os(phen)Cl]PF6 (5PF6), [(eta6-bip)Os(dppz)Cl]PF6 (6PF6), [(eta6-bip)Os(azpy-NMe2)Cl]PF6 (7PF6), [(eta6-p-cym)Os(azpy-NMe2)Cl]PF6 (8PF6), and [(eta6-bip)Os(NCCH3-N)Cl2] (9), where THA = tetrahydroanthracene, en = ethylenediamine, p-cym = p-cymene, phen = phenanthroline, bip = biphenyl, dppz = [3,2-a: 2',3'-c]phenazine and azpy-NMe2 = 4-(2-pyridylazo)-N,N-dimethylaniline. The chelating ligand was found to play a crucial role in enhancing aqueous stability. The rates of hydrolysis at acidic pH* decreased when the primary amine N-donors (NN = en, t1/2 = 0.6 h at 318 K) are replaced with pi-accepting pyridine groups (e.g., NN = phen, t1/2 = 9.5 h at 318 K). The OsII complexes hydrolyze up to 100 times more slowly than their RuII analogues. The pK*a of the aqua adducts decreased with a similar trend (pK*a = 6.3 and 5.8 for en and phen adducts, respectively). [(eta6-bip)Os(en)Cl]PF6/BF4 (1PF6/BF4) and [(eta6-THA)Os(en)Cl]BF4 (2BF4) were cytotoxic toward both the human A549 lung and A2780 ovarian cancer cell lines, with IC50 values of 6-10 microM, comparable to the anticancer drug carboplatin. 1BF4 binds to both the N7 and phosphate of 5'-GMP (ratio of 2:1). The formation constant for the 9-ethylguanine (9EtG) adduct [(eta6-bip)M(en)(9EtG)]2+ was lower for OsII (log K = 3.13) than RuII (log K = 4.78), although the OsII adduct showed some kinetic stability. DNA intercalation of the dppz ligand in 6PF6 may play a role in its cytotoxicity. This work demonstrates that the nature of the chelating ligand can play a crucial role in tuning the chemical and biological properties of [(eta6-arene)Os(NN)Cl]+ complexes.  相似文献

Complexes of general formula [(TPA)Fe(R-Cat)]X.nS were synthesised with different catecholate derivatives and anions (TPA = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine, R-Cat2- = 4,5-(NO2)2-Cat2- denoted DNC(2-); 3,4,5,6-Cl4-Cat2- denoted TCC2-; 3-OMe-Cat(2-); 4-Me-Cat(2-) and X = BPh4-; NO3-; PF6-; ClO4-; S = solvent molecule). Their magnetic behaviours in the solid state show a general feature along the series, viz., the occurrence of a thermally-induced spin crossover process. The transition curves are continuous with transition temperatures ranging from ca. 84 to 257 K. The crystal structures of [(TPA)Fe(DNC)]X (X = PF6-; BPh4-) and [(TPA)Fe(TCC)]X.nS (X = PF6-; NO3- and n= 1, S = H2O; ClO4- and n= 1, S = H2O; BPh4- and n= 1, S = C3H6O) were solved at 100 (or 123 K) and 293 K. For those two systems, the characteristics of the [FeN(4)O(2)] coordination core and those of the dioxolene ligands appear to be consistent with a prevailing Fe(III)-catecholate formulation. This feature is in contrast with the large quantum mixing between Fe(III)-catecholate and Fe(II)-semiquinonate forms recently observed with the more electron donating simple catecholate dianion. The thermal spin crossover process is accompanied by significant changes of the molecular structures as shown by the average variation of the metal-ligand bond distances which can be extrapolated for a complete spin conversion from ca. 0.123 to 0.156 A. The different space groups were retained in the low- and high-temperature phases.  相似文献

The new ligands Na[(p-IC6H4)B(3-Rpz)3] (R = H, Me) have been prepared by converting I2C6H4 to IC6H4SiMe3 with Li(t)Bu and SiMe3Cl, and then to IC6H4BBr2 with BBr3 and subsequent reaction with 3 equiv of (un)substituted pyrazole and 1 equiv of NaO(t)Bu. These new ligands react with FeBr2 to give either purple, low-spin Fe[(p-IC6H4)B(pz)3]2 or colorless, high-spin Fe[(p-IC6H4)B(3-Mepz)3]2. Depending upon the crystallization conditions, Fe[(p-IC6H4)B(3-Mepz)3]2 can exist both as two polymorphs and as a methylene chloride solvate. An examination of these polymorphs by variable-temperature X-ray crystallography, magnetic susceptibility, and Mossbauer spectroscopy has revealed different electronic spin-state crossover properties for each polymorph and yields insight into the influence of crystal packing, independent of other electronic perturbations, on the spin-state crossover. The first polymorph of Fe[(p-IC6H4)B(3-Mepz)3]2 has a highly organized three-dimensional supramolecular structure and does not undergo a spin-state crossover upon cooling to 4 K. The second polymorph of Fe[(p-IC6H4)B(3-Mepz)3]2 has a stacked two-dimensional supramolecular structure, a structure that is clearly less well organized than that of the first polymorph, and undergoes an abrupt iron(II) spin-state crossover from high spin to low spin upon cooling below ca. 130 K. The crystal structure of the methylene chloride solvate of Fe[(p-IC6H4)B(3-Mepz)3]2 has a similar stacked two-dimensional supramolecular structure, but the crystals readily lose the solvate. The resulting desolvate undergoes a gradual spin-state crossover to the low-spin state upon cooling below ca. 235 K. It is clear from a comparison of the structures that the long-range solid-state organization of the molecules, which is controlled by noncovalent supramolecular interactions, has a strong impact upon the spin-state crossover, with the more highly organized structures having lower spin-crossover temperatures and more abrupt spin-crossover behavior.  相似文献

The title compounds are accessed by sequences starting with racemic and enantiomerically pure [(eta5-C5H5)Re(NO)(PPh3)(CH3)]. Reactions with chlorobenzene/HBF4, PPh2H, and tBuOK give the phosphido complex [(eta5-C5H5)Re(NO)(PPh3)(PPh2)] (3). Reactions with Ph3C+ BF4-, PPh2H, and tBuOK give the methylene homologue [(eta5-C5H5)Re(NO)(PPh3)(CH2PPh2)] (9). Treatment of 3 or 9 with nBuLi or tBuLi and then PPh3Cl gives the diphosphido systems [(eta5-C5H4PPh2)Re(NO)(PPh3)((CH2)nPPh2)] (n = 0/1, 5/11). Reactions of 5 and 11 with [Rh(NBD)Cl]2/AgPF6 (NBD = norbornadiene) give the rhenium/rhodium chelate complexes [(eta5-C5H4PPh2)Re(NO)(PPh3)((mu-CH2)nPPh2)Rh(NBD)]+ PF6- (n = 0/1, 6+/12+ PF6-; 30-32% overall from commercial Re2(CO)10). The crystal structures of 6+ PF6- and 12+ PF6- are compared to those of 3 and 9, and other rhodium complexes of chelating bis(diphenylphosphines). The chiral pockets defined by the PPh2 groups show unusual features. Four alkenes of the type (Z)-RCH=C(NHCOCH3)CO2R' are treated with H2 (1 atm) and (R)-6+ PF6- or (S)-12+ PF6- (0.5 mol%) in THF at room temperature. Protected amino acids are obtained in 70-98% yields and 93-82% ee [(R)-6- PF6-] or 72-60% ee [(S)-12+ PF6-]. Pressure and temperature effects are defined, and turnover numbers of > 1600 are realized.  相似文献

A bis-double-decker complex has been assembled from the nickel bisdithiolene complex [Ni(S 2C 2Me 2) 2] (1-/2-) and two [Cp*Fe] (+) units (Cp* = C 5Me 5). The complex, [(eta (5)-Cp*-Fe-mu-eta (5),eta (5)-((S 2C 2Me 2) 2Ni)Fe-eta (5)-Cp*] ( n ) ( 1 ( n )), was isolated in two charge states ( n = 0, 1). The structure of 1 (+) was confirmed by X-ray crystallography for 1 (+)PF 6 (-) and 1 (+)BF 4 (-), and it shows the nickel bisdithiolene units pi-donating to iron centers. Both salts crystallize in a centrosymmetric space group (center of inversion at nickel). Computational (density functional theory) data indicate a highly delocalized spin density for 1 (+). The reaction of 1 with 1 or 2 equiv of HBF 4 leads to oxidation to form 1 (+) or 1 (2+), respectively. On an electrochemical time scale, reversibility is observed for the redox series 1/ 1 (+)/ 1 (2+), with an additional slower step for oxidation of 1 (2+).  相似文献

The oxidative addition of water to novel Ir(I) DMSO complexes is described. IrCl(DMSO)3 (1) is synthesized in 90% yield when treating a toluene slurry of [Ir2Cl2(COE)4] (COE = cyclooctene) with excess DMSO. Its dimer, [Ir2Cl2(DMSO)4] (2) is obtained in 95% yield starting from 1. The cationic complex [Ir(DMSO)4]PF6 (6) is prepared in situ from [Ir(COE)2(O=CMe2)2]PF6 (5). These complexes add water at room temperature, giving rise to the oxidative addition products syn-[(DMSO)2HIr(mu-OH)2(mu-Cl)IrH(DMSO)2] [IrCl2(DMSO)2] (3) and anti-[(DMSO)2(DMSO)HIr(mu-OH)2IrH(DMSO)2(DMSO)](PF6)2 (7), respectively. Reductive elimination in pyridine leads to quantitative isolation of mixed Ir(I) DMSO-pyridine complexes IrCl(py)(DMSO)2 (4) and [Ir(py)2(DMSO)2]PF6 (8), respectively. Compounds 1, 3, and 7 have been characterized by X-ray crystallography. 3 and 7 show dimeric structures with the hydroxo ligands bridging the iridium atoms and in 7 both O- and S-bonded DMSO ligands are present.  相似文献

The compounds fac-(κ(3)-PDP)Mo(CO)(3) {1; PDP = 2-[[2-(1-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)pyrrolidin-2-yl)pyrrolidin-1-yl]methyl]pyridine}, [(cis-β-PDP)Mo(NO)(CO)]PF(6) ([cis-β-3]PF(6)), [(cis-α-PDP)Mo(NO)(CO)]PF(6) ([cis-α-3]PF(6)), [(cis-α-PDP)Mo(NO)Br]PF(6) ([4]PF(6)), [(trans-PDP)Cu](BF(4))(2)·CH(3)CN ([5](BF(4))(2)·CH(3)CN), and [(trans-PDP)Cu](OSO(2)CF(3))(2) ([5](OSO(2)CF(3))(2)) have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. These are the first reported complexes of PDP on metal centers other than iron(II). The observed configurations indicate a broader range of accessible PDP topologies than has been reported. The {(cis-α-PDP)Mo(NO)}(+) fragment is found to be less π-basic than the dearomatizing {Tp(MeIm)Mo(NO)} fragment [Tp = hydridotris(1-pyrazolyl)borato; MeIm = 1-methylimidazole].  相似文献

Redox potentials of photosensitive cyclometalated RuII derivatives of 2-phenylpyridine or 2-(4-tolyl)pyridine are controllably decreased by up to 0.8 V within several minutes. This is achieved by irradiation of the ruthena(II)cycles cis-[Ru(o-X-2-py)(LL)(MeCN)2]PF6 (2, X = C6H4 (a) or 4-MeC6H3 (b), LL = 1,10-phenanthroline or 2,2'-bipyridine). The cis geometry of the MeCN ligands has been confirmed by the X-ray structural studies. The sigma-bound sp2 carbon of the metalated ring is trans to LL nitrogen. Complexes 2 are made from [Ru(o-X-2-py)(MeCN)4]PF6 (1) and LL. This "trivial" ligand substitution is unusual because 1a reacts readily with phen in MeCN as solvent to give cis-[Ru(o-C6H4-2-py)(phen)(MeCN)2]PF6 (2c) in a 83% yield, but bpy does not afford the bpy-containing 2 under the same conditions. cis-[Ru(o-C6H4-2-py)(bpy)(MeCN)2]PF6 (2e) has been prepared in CH2Cl2 (74%). Studies of complexes 2c,e by cyclic voltammetry in MeOH in the dark reveal RuII/III quasy-reversible redox features at 573 and 578 mV (vs Ag/AgCl), respectively. A minute irradiation 2c and 2e converts them into new species with redox potentials of -230 and 270 mV, respectively. An exceptional potential drop for 2c is accounted for in terms of a photosubstitution of both MeCN ligands by methanol. ESR, 1H NMR, and UV-vis data indicate that the primary product of photolysis of 2c is an octahedral monomeric low-spin (S = 1/2) RuIII species, presumably cis-[RuIII(o-C6H4-2-py)(phen)(MeOH)2]2+. The primary photoproduct of bpy complex 2e is cis-[RuII(o-C6H4-2-py)(bpy)(MeCN)(MeOH)]+, and this accounts for a lower decrease in the redox potential. Irradiation of 2c in the presence of added chloride affords [(phen)(o-C6H4-2-py)ClRuIIIORuIVCl(o-C6H4-2-py)(phen)]PF6, a first mu-oxo-bridged mixed valent dimer with a cyclometalated unit. The structure of the dimer has been established by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

Copper(I) complexes of tripodal tris(N-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-imidazolyl)methane ligands, N3CR (1a-c, R = OH, OMe, H), have been prepared as models for the Cu(A) site of copper hydroxylase enzymes. In the absence of additional donors, the ligands 1 react with [Cu(CH3CN)4]PF6 (2) to produce dinuclear complexes [(N3CR)2Cu2](PF6)2 (3) in which the tripodal ligands bridge two trigonal Cu centers; the structures of 3b and 3c are established by X-ray diffraction. Mononuclear adducts [(N3CR)CuL]Z are produced with L = acetonitrile (4), carbon monoxide (5), and t-BuNC (6, 7). The carbonyl complexes 5 are in dynamic equilibrium with the dimeric complexes 3, but 5c (R = H) can be isolated. The structures of the isocyanide derivatives depend critically on the tripod methane substituent, R. Thus, the X-ray structures of 6 (R = OMe) and 7 (R = H) show trigonal and tetrahedral geometries, respectively, with bi- or tridentate coordination of the tripod. A trinuclear complex [Cu3(N3COH)2(t-BuNC)2](PF6)3 (8) is formed from N3COH (1a) which features both three-coordinate and two-coordinate Cu atoms and bidentate tripod coordination. Reactions of dioxygen with dinuclear 3c or mononuclear [(N3CR)CuL]Z are sluggish, producing from the latter in acetone [(N3CH)CuII(L)(L')](PF6)2 (9, L = acetone, L' = H2O).  相似文献

The electronic structures of six-coordinate iron(III) octaethylmonoazaporphyrins, [Fe(MAzP)L 2] (+/-) ( 1), have been examined by means of (1)H NMR and EPR spectroscopy to reveal the effect of meso-nitrogen in the porphyrin ring. The complexes carrying axial ligands with strong field strengths such as 1-MeIm, DMAP, CN (-), and (t)BuNC adopt the low-spin state with the (d xy ) (2)(d xz , d yz ) (3) ground state in a wide temperature range where the (1)H NMR and EPR spectra are taken. In contrast, the complexes with much weaker axial ligands, such as 4-CNPy and 3,5-Cl 2Py, exhibit the spin transition from the mainly S = 3/2 at 298 K to the S = 1/2 with the (d xy ) (2)(d xz , d yz ) (3) ground state at 4 K. Only the THF complex has maintained the S = 3/2 throughout the temperature range examined. Thus, the electronic structures of 1 resemble those of the corresponding iron(III) octaethylporphyrins, [Fe(OEP)L 2] (+/-) ( 2). A couple of differences have been observed, however, in the electronic structures of 1 and 2. One of the differences is the electronic ground state in low-spin bis( (t)BuNC) complexes. While [Fe(OEP)( (t)BuNC) 2] (+) adopts the (d xz , d yz ) (4)(d xy ) (1) ground state, like most of the bis( (t)BuNC) complexes reported previously, [Fe(MAzP)( (t)BuNC) 2] (+) has shown the (d xy ) (2)(d xz , d yz ) (3) ground state. Another difference is the spin state of the bis(3,5-Cl 2Py) complexes. While [Fe(OEP)(3,5-Cl 2Py) 2] (+) has maintained the mixed S = 3/2 and 5/2 spin state from 298 to 4 K, [Fe(MAzP)(3,5-Cl 2Py) 2] (+) has shown the spin transition mentioned above. These differences have been ascribed to the narrower N4 cavity and the presence of lower-lying pi* orbital in MAzP as compared with OEP.  相似文献

Tripodal bis(imidazole) thioether ligands, (N-methyl-4,5-diphenyl-2-imidazolyl)2C(OR)C(CH3)2SR' (BIT(OR,SR'); R = H, CH3; R' = CH3, C(CH3)3, C(C6H5)3), have been prepared, offering the same N2S donor atom set as the CuM binding site of the hydroxylase enzymes, dopamine beta hydroxylase and peptidylglycine hydroxylating monooxygenase. Isolable copper(I) complexes of the type [(BIT(OR,SMe))Cu(CO)]PF6 (3a and 3b) are produced in reactions of the respective tripodal ligands 1a (R = H) and 1b (R = Me) with [Cu(CH3CN)4]PF6 in CH2Cl2 under CO (1 atm); the pyramidal structure of 3a has been determined crystallographically. The infrared (IR) nu(CO)'s of 3a and 3b (L = CO) are comparable to those of the Cu(M)-carbonylated enzymes, indicating similar electronic character at the copper centers. The reaction of [(BIT(OH,SMe))Cu(CH3CN)]PF6 (2a) with dioxygen produces [(BIT(O,SOMe))2Cu2(DMF)2](PF6)2 (4), whose X-ray structure revealed the presence of bridging BIT-alkoxo ligands and terminal -SOMe groups. In contrast, oxygenation of 2b (R = Me) affords crystallographically defined [(BIT(OMe,SMe))2Cu2(mu-OH)2](OTf)2 (5), in which the copper centers are oxygenated without accompanying sulfur oxidation. Complex 5 in DMF is transformed into five-coordinate, mononuclear [CuII(BIT(OMe,SMe))(DMF)2](PF6)2 (6). The sterically hindered BIT(OR,SR') ligands 9 and 10 (R' = t-Bu; R = H, Me) and 11 and 12 (R' = CPh3; R = H, Me) were also prepared and examined for copper coordination/oxygenation. Oxygenation of copper(I) complex 13b derived from the BIT(OMe,SBu-t) ligand is slow, relative to 2b, producing a mixture of (BIT(OMe,SBu-t))2Cu2(mu-OH)2-type complexes 14b and 15b in which the -SBu-t group is uncoordinated; one of these complexes (15b) has been ortho-oxygenated on a neighboring aryl group according to the X-ray analysis and characterization of the free ligand. Oxygenation of the copper(I) complex derived from BIT(OMe,SCPh3) ligand 12 produces a novel dinuclear disulfide complex, [(BIT(OMe,S)2Cu2(mu-OH)2](PF6)2 (17), which is structurally characterized. Reactivity studies under anaerobic conditions in the presence of t-BuNC indicate that 17 is the result of copper(I)-induced detritylation followed by oxygenation of a highly reactive copper(I)-thiolate complex.  相似文献
