The class of metrizable spaces M with the following approximation property is introduced and investigated: MAP(n,0) if for every ε>0 and a map g:InM there exists a 0-dimensional map g:InM which is ε-homotopic to g. It is shown that this class has very nice properties. For example, if MiAP(ni,0), i=1,2, then M1×M2AP(n1+n2,0). Moreover, MAP(n,0) if and only if each point of M has a local base of neighborhoods U with UAP(n,0). Using the properties of AP(n,0)-spaces, we generalize some results of Levin and Kato-Matsuhashi concerning the existence of residual sets of n-dimensional Lelek maps.  相似文献

We study the set of minimal periods of holomorphic self-maps of one- and two-dimensional complex tori. In particular, we characterize when the set of minimal periods of such maps is finite. In fact, we have an algorithm for doing this characterization for holomorphic self-maps of an arbitrary dimensional complex torus.  相似文献

We prove that the Nielsen fixed point number N(φ) of an n-valued map φ:X?X of a compact connected triangulated orientable q-manifold without boundary is equal to the Nielsen coincidence number of the projections of the graph of φ, a subset of X×X, to the two factors. For certain q×q integer matrices A, there exist “linear” n-valued maps Φn,A,σ:Tq?Tq of q-tori that generalize the single-valued maps fA:TqTq induced by the linear transformations TA:RqRq defined by TA(v)=Av. By calculating the Nielsen coincidence number of the projections of its graph, we calculate N(Φn,A,σ) for a large class of linear n-valued maps.  相似文献

A rotationally symmetric n-harmonic map is a rotationally symmetric p-harmonic map between two n-dimensional model spaces such that p=n. We show that rotationally symmetric n-harmonic maps can be integrated and are n-harmonic diffeomorphism, and apply such results to investigate the asymptotic behaviors of these maps. Evenly convex sets in a topological vector space are defined as the intersection of a family of open half spaces. We introduce a generalization of this concept in the conditional framework and provide a generalized version of the bipolar theorem. This notion is then applied to obtain the dual representation of conditionally evenly quasi-convex maps, which turns out to be a fundamental ingredient in the study of quasi-convex dynamic risk measures.  相似文献

Using an earlier fixed point result of the author and Nielsen-type arguments patterned on related results for torus self-maps by Alsedá et al. we describe minimal sets of periods for self-maps of cofrontiers that are inverse limits of circles. Special attention is given to the pseudocircle, ever present in dynamical systems. Our result extends a property of circle maps, proved by Efremova, and independently by Block et al. in the late 1970s. We explain why our natural generalization is rather unexpected and shows potential of Nielsen theory for new applications.  相似文献

We investigate under which conditions a transformation of an imprecise probability model of a certain type (coherent lower previsions, n  -monotone capacities, minitive measures) produces a model of the same type. We give a number of necessary and sufficient conditions, and study in detail a particular class of such transformations, called filter maps. These maps include as particular models multi-valued mappings as well as other models of interest within imprecise probability theory, and can be linked to filters of sets and {0,1}{0,1}-valued lower probabilities.  相似文献

We prove that if for the curved n-body problem the masses are given, the minimum distance between the point masses of a specific type of relative equilibrium solution to that problem has a universal lower bound that is not equal to zero. We furthermore prove that the set of all such relative equilibria is compact. This class of relative equilibria includes all relative equilibria of the curved n  -body problem in H2H2 and a significant subset of the relative equilibria for S2S2, S3S3 and H3H3.  相似文献

This paper concerns the linear stability of the well-known periodic orbits of Lagrange in the three-body problem. Given any three masses, there exists a family of periodic solutions for which each body is at the vertex of an equilateral triangle and travels along an elliptic Kepler orbit. Reductions are performed to derive equations which determine the linear stability of the periodic solutions. These equations depend on two parameters - the eccentricity e of the orbit and the mass parameter β=27(m1m2+m1m3+m2m3)/(m1+m2+m3)2. A combination of numerical and analytic methods is used to find the regions of stability in the βe-plane. In particular, using perturbation techniques it is rigorously proven that there are mass values where the truly elliptic orbits are linearly stable even though the circular orbits are not.  相似文献

We use a model theoretic approach to investigate properties of local-global principles for positive primitive formulas in spaces of orderings, such as the existence of bounds and the axiomatizability of local-global principles. We discuss the p-harmonicity of the linear combination of p-harmonic functions in the Euclidean space and on a tree. If p≠2, the p-harmonicity is non-linear, i.e., the linear combination of p-harmonic functions need not be p-harmonic. In spite of this non-linear nature, we find some p-harmonic functions whose linear combinations become p-harmonic.  相似文献

Numerical evaluation leads to the conjecture that this inequality can be replaced by an equality. Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis and a zeta zero separation conjecture for some exponent , we obtain the upper bound . Assuming a weakened form of a conjecture of Gonek, giving a bound for the reciprocal of the derivative of zeta at each zero, we obtain the expected upper bound for the periods so, conditionally, . Indeed, this linear relationship is equivalent to the given weakened conjecture, which implies the zero separation conjecture, provided the exponent is sufficiently large. The frequencies corresponding to the periods relate to natural eigenvalues for the Hilbert-Polya conjecture. They may provide a goal for those seeking a self-adjoint operator related to the Riemann hypothesis.

We provide general conditions, stable under finite unions, ensuring the existence of the outer Minkowski content of Borel subsets of . Such conditions turn out to be the same which guarantee the existence of the (d − 1)-dimensional Minkowski content of the boundary of the involved sets. The C1-Weierstrass approximation theorem is proved for any compact subset X of a Hilbert space . The same theorem is also proved for Whitney 1-jets on X when X satisfies the following further condition: There exist finite dimensional linear subspaces such that ?n?1Hn is dense in and πn(X)=XHn for each n?1. Here, is the orthogonal projection. It is also shown that when X is compact convex with and satisfies the above condition, then C1(X) is complete if and only if the C1-Whitney extension theorem holds for X. The size of ordered binary decision diagrams (OBDDs) strongly depends on the chosen variable ordering. It is an obvious heuristic to use symmetric variable orderings, i.e., variable orderings where symmetric variables are arranged adjacently. In order to evaluate this heuristic, methods for estimating the OBDD size for random partially symmetric functions are presented. Characterizations of cases where, with high probability, only symmetric variable orderings and, with high probability, only nonsymmetric variable orderings lead to minimum OBDD size are obtained.
