We report on results of an experiment to study the reaction p + in the incident pion momentum region between 295 and 450 MeV/c. A departure from phase space was observed in invariant-mass spectra and angular distributions which cannot be explained with and resonance production. The reactione + e - e + e - 00e + e - 6 has been analysed using the full data sample taken with the Crystal Ball detector at the DORIS II storage ring at DESY. The 00 invariant mass spectrum is dominated by the ', for which we determine the radiative width (') to be (4.5±0.3±0.5)keV. Near 1.9 GeV/c2 we observe a second enhancement in the 00 mass distribution. Assuming that these events are created by the production and subsequent decay of a wide resonanceX(1900), we have investigated the decay modes, the invariant mass distributions of the 0 and 00 subsystems and the angular distributions of the final state mesons. We find that the data is best described byJ PC=2. For thisJ P assignment the resonance parameters are (X) BR(X)=(0.95±0.27±0.20) keV tot (X)=(221±92±44)MeV, andM(X)=(1881±32±40) MeV/c2.Deceased  相似文献

The systematics of-decay modes and radiative widths of highly excited states in28Si has been extended by taking-ray spectra on 60 resonances of the27Al(p,) reaction in the range 1097 keVE p 4492 keV (12643 keVE x 15915 keV) and on the24Mg(,) resonances atE =3355, 3431, 4003 keV (E x =12860, 12925, 13 415 keV). The-decay modes of levels in the sub-resonance region (E x =10–12.5 MeV) were studied with both the27 A1(p, ) reaction and the27 A1(d, n) reaction at Ed=4,5,6 MeV. Information on radiative widths of levels was obtained by measuring the resonance strengthsS =(2I+1) p / for 52 resonances of the27Al(p, ) reaction with an emphasis on prospective T=1 states.  相似文献

A search for the recently proposed two-phonon octupole vibrational (2-POV) 4+ or 6+ state in208Pb at an excitation energy of 5683 keV has been performed using the207Pb(d,p),208Pb (p,p) and (,) reactions at high energy resolution. No evidence for a two-phonon excitation at this energy is found.This work was supported in part by the DFG under contract nr. The total photofission cross section ,F for235U and238U has been measured in the energy range 50E 800 MeV at the 855 MeV Mainz Microtron MAMI using energy and time tagged photons (Glasgow Tagger) and a 4 arrangement of position sensitive fragment detectors. Besides the absolute photofission cross section F , which almost completely exhausts the total photon absorption cross section for these nuclei, fragment mass distributions in this energy domain were determined via time of flight techniques (TOF). The results for the total photofission cross sections ,F normalized to the atomic numberA for both isotopes coincide, and agree in the-resonance region, within the systematic errors, with the socalledUniversal Curve ,T /A of the total photon absorption cross section ,T . At higher energies the cross sections exhibit a smooth behaviour. In particular, it is shown for the first time that there isno resonance-like shape near the D13 resonance (at 710 MeV) as observed for the free proton. This complete suppression of the D13 resonance in complex nuclei is not yet understood on a microscopic level. The fragment mass distributions show a predominantly mass symmetric fission. Isotonic and isobaric dependencies of nuclear charge radii in the region between Z=54 and Z=70 are obtained from the analysis of isotope shift data r2 and muonic and electron scattering data on r2. They are compared with the predictions of the droplet model and the Hartree-Fock calculations. The isobaric dependencies of r2 have proven to be especially sensitive to the choice of an effective nucleon-nucleon interaction.  相似文献

Motivated by nearly unanimous claim that the observed mass spectrum +- is not that expected from pure 0 dominance, we reanalyze all the published data on / +- decays. We find non-resonant contributions. In order to evaluate precisely the magnitude of these terms, we also refit the e+e- +- data to get reliably the 0 parameters and decay amplitude. We show that identifying the non-resonant contribution with the box anomaly predicted by QCD and chiral theories, one achieves a consistent picture. Several checks are performed which show the consistency of our fitted parameters. From four measurements, we determinef 1,f 8 and PS on purely experimental grounds, and we find them in the expected range. Presently available data allow for two solutions, one is consistent with QCD, the other favours integral charge quark models. We show that presently available data do not allow to choose among these two solutions. We discuss the interrelation of uncertainties in e+e- +- physics with our two solutions.  相似文献

The influence of resonances on narrow pair correlations of identical pions is considered in detail. It is shown that kinematic or dynamic restrictions on resonance momenta lead to a substantial anisotropy of the correlation function; variables allowing one to reveal this anisotropy are proposed. An upper estimate of 0.23 for the fraction of directly produced pions is obtained based on experimental data on the resonance yields in high-energy hadron interactions. It is shown that experimental data on like-pion correlations agree with a dominant contribution of the pions from the decays of light resonances. In particular, the observed value of the parameter characterizing the suppression of the interference effect, the decrease of the slope of the correlation function with increase in the relative momentumQ of the like pions in their c.m.s. and the dependence of the time parameter on the pion velocity are explained. It is shown that the slope of the correlation function for the like-pion pairs containing the decay pions atQ>0.1 GeV/c is mainly determined by the size of the resonance production region, which allows one to determine the size of the production region of direct particles (pions and resonances) despite the very low fraction of the pairs of directly produced pions. The fraction of directly produced pions, 0.17±0.09 (stat.)±0.08 (syst.), and the radius of the direct production region, 0.55±0.08 (stat.)±0.10 (syst.) fm, have been determined based on the analysis of the most accurate correlation function measured inpp- and -interaction on ISR at 63 GeV.  相似文献

Narrow dibaryon resonances observed in elastic and inelastic hadron scattering channels atM NN * =1875–2300 MeV/c2 are characterized by the relative resolution (FWHM/M pp * ) 10–3 comparable to that provided by Ge(Li) detectors in the case of gamma-ray spectroscopy. The gamma-ray spectrum analysis codes GSAP, AUTSPAN and SAMPO-80 have been used to analyse the effective mass distributions of dibaryons from the reactions dp (pn) p, dp (pp) n, np pp, and pppp studied at the Dubna synchrophasotron. In a high sensitivity (,2n) in-beam study of 62 144 Sm82, with the Kölner Würfel OSIRIS -detector array including a Compton polarimeter, we have identified the complete two-proton multiplets d 5 2/–2 , d 5 2/–1 g 7 2/–1 , g 7 2/–2 , h11/2d 5 2/–1 and the 9 to 4 members of the h11·/2g 7 2/–1 multiplet.Work partially supported by CICYT (Spain).  相似文献

The surface response for charge exchange (p, n) and (3He, T) reactions is studied in the-region using the semi-infinite slab model. The contribution to the total response from different decay channels, (NN, N, ), is calculated. These decay channels corresponds to the exclusive channels, (pp, p +, +), measured in recent (p, n) and (3He, T) experiments. The in-medium properties of the-resonance is taken into account by using microscopic calculations of the-width in nuclear matter. From the-width in nuclear matter a non-local imaginary-potential, as well as a local potential, is constructed for the semi-infinite slab model. The results in the semi-infinite slab model gives a qualitative understanding of the exclusive experiments. The exclusive (NN, N, ) channels are more sensitive, than the total response, tog-correlation parameters,-width and the absorption function used at the external vertex. Our calculations suggest low values of theg-correlation parametersg N andg , (0.3). We study the production of hyperons inp + A reactions within the BUU transport approach including elastic N rescattering and extract the sticking probabilities and hypernucleus formation cross sections as a function of bombarding energy and target mass. At 1.5 GeV about 25% of the hyperons are found to be bound in case of heavy nuclei like238U leading to large cross sections for-hypernuclei. The respective hypernuclei show broad distributions in excitation energy, momentum and angular momentum. The decay of the hyperon in case of heavy targets is found to be almost entirely due to nonmesonic decay channels, i.e.N NN processes.Supported by BMFT, GSI, Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Polish Committee for Scientific Research under Grant no. The role of the parameter in pion interferometry, thecorrelation strength, is investigated. The relations between the extracted values for and the radii are emphasized and illustrated by a compilation of published data. It is shown that radii from interferometry measurements can often not be interpreted independently from . The validity of quantitative radius estimates based on the freeze-out picture is discussed. From pion interferometry data at target rapidity in 200A GeV16O+Au collisions an effective rescattering cross section for soft pions of 11 mb is extracted.  相似文献

The generalized density matrix of superfluid inhomogeneous Fermi systems is expanded in powers of up to order 2. This constitutes the generalisation of the Wigner Kirkwood -expansion of the density matrix of normal fluid systems to the pairing case.One of the authors (P.S.) is very grateful to D. The most general angular decay distribution of the hadronic system in the decay of a polarized into one pseudoscalar plus a vector is calculated. Emphasis is put on decays ine + e experiments where the neutrino escapes detection and the restframe cannot be reconstructed. We propose a model for the decay intov involving both a vector- and a second class axial vector-current contribution. Then we present numerical results for this decay channel.  相似文献

Production of strange and charm particles by hadron-proton collisions is analyzed in terms of a fire-ball (FB) model assuming the multiplicity of secondaries of a given massm, to be proportional to the FB mass: n(m)M *, the FB kinematics being determined by the Feynman-Yang scaling, as in the case of production. It is found that (m)1/m 2 and that, using this property together with the scaling, no-free-parameter fits to currently available data of strange and charm particles frompp and p collisions are satisfactory, as well as for the photoproduction of charm mesonD and charm hyperon c .  相似文献

The OZI suppressed reactions¯pp and¯pp are reanalyzed, evaluating the unitarity contributions from two meson intermediate states with full spin, partially correcting earlier results. An estimate for¯pp without spin is also given. Together with earlier VDM results for¯pp the conservative estimates reported here easily explain the observed rates for all the meson channels considered.It is a pleasure to thank the following colleagues for numerous discussions: C. Low-lying states of theN=50 nucleus87Rb have been investigated in the (, ') reaction measuring- and delayed-rf-coincidences. A half-life ofT 1/2=6(1) ns was obtained for the level at 1578.1 keV. This experimental result confirms the 9/2+ assignment and the proton 1g9/2 single-particle character of this state. Experimental M2 transition strengths in85,87Rb are compared with predictions of the shell model and the particle-core coupling model.This work was partly supported by the Bulgarian National Research Foundation.  相似文献

Level density fluctuations are calculated within the generalized interacting boson model proposed for even-even nuclei, in dependence on the truncation parameterk. For the case =2 corresponding to theSU(3) dynamical symmetry of the interacting boson model the fluctuation pattern is close to Poissonian. For cases 2, including the anharmonic vibrator model for which =, a rapid transition to the fluctuation pattern close to GOE is obtained.  相似文献
