We present a microscopic calculation of neutronsqueeze-out in relativistic heavy ion collisions at beam energies betweeen 400 and 1000 MeV/nucleon. After demonstrating the importance of the correct isospin treatment for the neutron to proton ratio, our main emphasis is put on the investigation of the properties of neutronsqueeze-out. Thesqueeze-out ratio increases monotonously with the transverse momentum of the neutrons. This ratio is independent of the incident beam energy if plotted versusp t /p proj . Most importantly, we observe a strong dependence on the nuclear equation of state and momentum dependent interaction.Supported by GSI, BMFT and DFG  相似文献

The theory for Bose-Einstein correlations in case of neutral gauge bosons in pp collisions at high energies is presented. Based on quantum field theory at finite temperature, the two-particle Bose-Einstein correlations of neutral gauge bosons are carried out for the first time. As a result, the important parameters of the correlation functions can be obtained for the Z 0 Z 0 pairs. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

In the single-particle approach a partition of the excitation energy between the reaction products in deep inelastic collisions of heavy ions are investigated. The role of the particle-hole excitations and the nucleon exchange is considered. The ratio of the projectile excitation energy to the total excitation energy for the reactions238U(1468 MeV)+124Sn,238U(1398 MeV)+110Pd,56Fe(505MeV)+165Ho,74Ge (629 MeV)+165Ho and68Ni(880 MeV)+197Au is calculated. The results of calculations are in good agreement with the experimental data.We are grateful to Dr. N.V. Antonenko for valuable discussions. We present a systematic analysis on the helium projectile fragments produced from 10.6 A GeV197Auemulsion interactions in an experiment conducted at the Brookhaven AGS. Total charge changing and partial production cross-sections are measured experimentally on the basis of helium multiplicity. The multiplicity distribution of helium fragments which are produced collectively obey a KNO scaling. The transverse momentum distribution of these particles indicates that they are produced from two different independent sources. We are thankful to the BNL technical staff and specially to Dr. D. Beavis for his help in the exposure of emulsion stacks. Thanks are due to Profs. Y. Takahashi and G. Romano for their help in the preparation and development of the emulsion stacks. We appreciate the discussions with Prof. H. Stocker and J. Aichelin. This work was supported by D.O.E. under Grant No. DE-FGO2-90ER 40566.  相似文献

Vector bosons become accessible experimental probes in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC. The capabilities of the LHC experiments to perform their measurement are outlined. The focus is given to their utility to study the possible formation and properties of the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) in the most central heavy-ion collisions. Their own sensitivity (if any) to the QGP is discussed. Their interest as references to observe multiple QGP sensitive probes is justified.  相似文献

In the framework of the quark–gluon string model we calculate the inclusive spectra of secondaries produced in d+Au collisions at intermediate (CERN SPS) and at much higher (RHIC) energies. The results of numerical calculations at intermediate energies are in reasonable agreement with the data. At RHIC energies numerically large inelastic screening corrections (percolation effects) should be accounted for in the calculations. We extract these effects from the existing experimental data of RHIC on minimum-bias and central d+Au collisions. The predictions for p+Au interactions at LHC energy are also given.  相似文献

As part of a comprehensive study of uranium fragmentation at relativistic energies at the GSI projectile fragment separator, FRS, inclusive neutron-removal cross sections have been measured for severalxn channels at projectile energies of 600 and 950A MeV using targets of Al, Cu and Pb. The variation of the experimental cross sections with target nuclear charge is used to disentangle nuclear and electromagnetic contributions. The electromagnetic cross sections agree surprisingly well with a simple harmonic oscillator calculation of giant dipole resonances based on measured photonuclear cross sections and do not require an extra enhancement of the two-phonon giant dipole excitation as concluded from similar measurements with197Au.  相似文献

Electromagnetic fission of238U projectiles at E/A =600 and 1000 MeV was studied with the ALADIN spectrometer at the heavy-ion synchrotron SIS. Seven different targets (Be, C, Al, Cu, In, Au and U) were used. By considering only those fission events where the two charges added up to 92, most of the nuclear interactions were excluded. The nuclear contributions to the measured fission cross sections were determined by extrapolating from beryllium to the heavier targets with the concept of factorization. The obtained cross sections for electromagnetic fission are well reproduced by extended Weizsäcker-Williams calculations which include E1 and E2 excitations. The asymmetry of the fission fragments' charge distribution gives evidence for the excitation of the double giant-dipole resonance in uranium.Communicated by V. Metag  相似文献

The measurement of jet fragmentation functions in p+p collisions at 200 GeV is of great interest because it provides a baseline to study jet quenching in heavy-ion collisions. It is expected that jet quenching in nuclear matter modifies the jet energy and multiplicity distributions, as well as the jet hadrochemical composition. Therefore, a systematic study of the fragmentation functions for charged hadrons and identified particles is a goal both in p+p and Au+Au collisions at RHIC. Studying fragmentation functions for identified particles is interesting in p+p by itself because it provides a test of NLO calculations at RHIC energies. We present a systematic comparison of jet energy spectra and fragment distributions using different jet-finding algorithms in p+p collisions in STAR. Fragmentation functions of charged and neutral strange particles are also reported for different jet energies.  相似文献

We calculate the S -wave scattering lengths for charmed mesons scattering off Goldstone bosons and explore their quark mass dependence using the chiral perturbation theory up to next-to-leading order as well as a unitarized version of it. The quark mass dependence of all scattering lengths determined in a recent lattice calculation can be reproduced by the unitarized version. We also discuss signals of possible bound states in these observables.  相似文献

We study the viscosity and thermodynamic properties of QGP at RHIC by employing the recently extracted equilibrium distribution functions from two hot QCD equations of state of O(g 5) and O(g 6ln (1/g)), respectively. After obtaining the temperature dependence of the energy density and the entropy density, we focus our attention on the determination of the shear viscosity for a rapidly expanding interacting plasma, as a function of temperature. We find that the interactions significantly decrease the shear viscosity. They decrease the viscosity to entropy density ratio, as well.  相似文献

The yield of muon pairs in the invariant mass region 1<M<2.5 GeV/c 2 produced in heavy-ion collisions significantly exceeds the sum of the two expected contributions, Drell-Yan dimuons and muon pairs from the decays of D meson pairs. These sources properly account for the dimuons produced in proton-nucleus collisions. In this paper, we show that dimuons are also produced in excess in 158 A GeV In-In collisions. We furthermore observe, by tagging the dimuon vertices, that this excess is not due to enhanced D meson production, but made of prompt muon pairs, as expected from a source of thermal dimuons specific to high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. The yield of this excess increases significantly from peripheral to central collisions, both with respect to the Drell-Yan yield and to the number of nucleons participating in the collisions. Furthermore, the transverse mass distributions of the excess dimuons are well described by an exponential function, with inverse slope values around 190 MeV. The values are independent of mass and significantly lower than those found at masses below 1 GeV/c 2, rising there up to 250 MeV due to radial flow. This suggests the emission source of thermal dimuons above 1 GeV/c 2 to be of largely partonic origin, when radial flow has not yet built up.  相似文献

The construction of the DC-60 Heavy Ion Cyclotron for the Interdisciplinary Scientific Research Complex (ISRC) in Astana started in early 2004. The cyclotron was manufactured and tested at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions (FLNR) in Dubna. The main units were delivered to Astana and assembled in the ISRC building in the summer of 2006. The cyclotron was turned on in September, 2006. The first heavy ion beams in the whole A/Z and energy ranges were accelerated and extracted in December, 2006. The complex, based on the DC-60 cyclotron, is intended for applied and fundamental research using accelerated heavy ion beams ranging from Carbon to Xenon with energies in the range of 0.34–1.77 MeV/nucleon, as well as for experiments on the channel of low energy ion beams, where the ion extraction voltage supplied by the ECR source reaches 25 kV. The energy variation of the accelerated ions is accomplished by changing the ion charge. The possibility of smoothly tuning the ion energy by ±30% of its nominal value can be seen by changing the cyclotron magnetic field. Within the framework of commissioning the DC-60 cyclotron, a number of experiments were carried out with accelerating charged particle beams in the main points of the working diagram
•  The acceleration modes for Nitrogen, Argon, and Krypton (14N2+, 40Ar4+, 40Ar5+, 40Ar7+, 84Kr12+) ions on the 4th and 6th harmonics of RF accelerating voltage in the whole range of magnetic field variation were investigated.
•  A Krypton accelerated ion beam (84Kr12+) with a current of up to 2 μA was extracted into the beam transport channel, matched, and transported to a technological facility for polymer film irradiation. An irradiation field with the required particle flux density and homogeneity was provided by 2 scanner magnets, and the experimental irradiation of polymer films was carried out.
•  The operational modes, with magnetic fields corrected by radial correcting coils of cyclotron, were investigated.

Beta-coincident-rays were measured from implanted44V and42Sc nuclei. These were selected after58Ni+nickel reactions by means of the LISE3 spectrometer at GANIL. The production of the isomeric states was identified by detecting their typical-delayed-ray cascades. From the intensities of the detected-lines the ratio between isomer and ground-state production of44V follows to be 1 to 3.0(4).on leave of absence from GSI Darmstadt.  相似文献

Relativistic corrections for the elastic scattering of heavy ions in the sub Coulomb regime are given. The case of two identical particles is treated especially. The deviation from the Rutherford (Mott) cross section is calculated by using the Todorov equation and the Darwin Hamiltonian, resp. It is shown, that both approches lead to the same results for small kinetic energies. Furthermore we discuss the applicability of the WKB method for calculating the phase shifts and the possibility of using a classical perturbative approach in the case of nonidentical particles.  相似文献
