We present constructive a posteriori estimates of inverse operators for initial value problems in linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) on a bounded interval. Here, “constructive” indicates that we can obtain bounds of the operator norm in which all constants are explicitly given or are represented in a numerically computable form. In general, it is difficult to estimate these inverse operators a priori. We, therefore, propose a technique for obtaining a posteriori estimates by using Galerkin approximation of inverse operators. This type of estimation will play an important role in the numerical verification of solutions for initial value problems in nonlinear ODEs as well as for parabolic initial boundary value problems.  相似文献

In this paper, we explore the question of which non-linear inverse problems, which are solved by a selected regularization method, may have so-called linear a priori accuracy estimates – that is, the accuracy of corresponding approximate solutions linearly depends on the error level of the data. In particular, we prove that if such a linear estimate exists, then the inverse problem under consideration is well posed, according to Tikhonov. For linear inverse problems, we find that the existence of linear estimates lead to, under some assumptions, the well-posedness (according to Tikhonov) on the whole space of solutions. Moreover, we consider a method for solving inverse problems with guaranteed linear estimates, called the residual method on the correctness set (RMCS). The linear a priori estimates of absolute and relative accuracy for the RMCS are presented, as well as analogous a posteriori estimates. A numerical illustration of obtaining linear a priori estimates for appropriate parametric sets of solutions using RMCS is given in comparison with Tikhonov regularization. The a posteriori estimates are calculated on these parametric sets as well.  相似文献

Summary. In this paper, we describe a new technique for a posteriori error estimates suitable to parabolic and hyperbolic equations solved by the method of lines. One of our goals is to apply known estimates derived for elliptic problems to evolution equations. We apply the new technique to three distinct problems: a general nonlinear parabolic problem with a strongly monotonic elliptic operator, a linear nonstationary convection-diffusion problem, and a linear second order hyperbolic problem. The error is measured with the aid of the -norm in the space-time cylinder combined with a special time-weighted energy norm. Theory as well as computational results are presented. Local a posteriori estimates of the accuracy of approximate solutions to ill-posed inverse problems with discontinuous solutions from the classes of functions of several variables with bounded variations of the Hardy or Giusti type are studied. Unlike global estimates (in the norm), local estimates of accuracy are carried out using certain linear estimation functionals (e.g., using the mean value of the solution on a given fragment of its support). The concept of a locally extra-optimal regularizing algorithm for solving ill-posed inverse problems, which has an optimal in order local a posteriori estimate, was introduced. A method for calculating local a posteriori estimates of accuracy with the use of some distinguished classes of linear functionals for the problems with discontinuous solutions is proposed. For linear inverse problems, the method is bases on solving specialized convex optimization problems. Examples of locally extra-optimal regularizing algorithms and results of numerical experiments on a posteriori estimation of the accuracy of solutions for different linear estimation functionals are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss with guaranteed a priori and a posteriori error estimates of finite element approximations for not necessarily coercive linear second order Dirichlet problems. Here, ‘guaranteed’ means we can get the error bounds in which all constants included are explicitly given or represented as a numerically computable form. Using the invertibility condition of concerning elliptic operator, guaranteed a priori and a posteriori error estimates are formulated. This kind of estimates plays essential and important roles in the numerical verification of solutions for nonlinear elliptic problems. Several numerical examples that confirm the actual effectiveness of the method are presented.  相似文献

The notion of a special quality for approximate solutions to ill-posed inverse problems is introduced. A posteriori estimates of the quality are studied for different regularizing algorithms. Examples of typical quality functionals are provided, which arise in solving linear and nonlinear inverse problems. A technique and a numerical algorithm for calculating a posteriori quality estimates for approximate solutions of general nonlinear inverse problems are developed. New notions of optimal and extra-optimal quality of a regularizing algorithm are introduced. The theory of regularizing algorithms with optimal and extra-optimal quality is presented, which includes an investigation of optimal properties for estimation functions of the quality. Examples of regularizing algorithms with extra-optimal quality of solutions are given, as well as examples of regularizing algorithms without such a property. Results of numerical experiments illustrate a posteriori quality estimation.  相似文献

In this article, we shall give a brief review on the fully discrete mixed finite element method for general optimal control problems governed by parabolic equations. The state and the co-state are approximated by the lowest order Raviart–Thomas mixed finite element spaces and the control is approximated by piecewise constant elements. Furthermore, we derive a posteriori error estimates for the finite element approximation solutions of optimal control problems. Some numerical examples are given to demonstrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the inverse problem for identifying the source term and initial value simultaneously in a space-fractional Allen-Cahn equation. This problem is ill-posed, i.e., the solution of this problem does not depend continuously on the data. The fractional Tikhonov method is used to solve this problem. Under the a priori and the a posteriori regularization parameter choice rules, the error estimates between the regularization solutions and the exact solutions are obtained, respectively. Different numerical examples are presented to illustrate the validity and effectiveness of our method.  相似文献

In this article, residual‐type a posteriori error estimates are studied for finite volume element (FVE) method of parabolic equations. Residual‐type a posteriori error estimator is constructed and the reliable and efficient bounds for the error estimator are established. Residual‐type a posteriori error estimator can be used to assess the accuracy of the FVE solutions in practical applications. Some numerical examples are provided to confirm the theoretical results. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Numer Methods Partial Differential Eq 33: 259–275, 2017  相似文献

This paper is concerned with recovery type a posteriori error estimates of fully discrete finite element approximation for general convex parabolic optimal control problems with pointwise control constraints. The time discretization is based on the backward Euler method. The state and the adjoint state are approximated by piecewise linear functions and the control is approximated by piecewise constant functions. We derive the superconvergence properties of finite element solutions. By using the superconvergence results, we obtain recovery type a posteriori error estimates. Some numerical examples are presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

An inverse boundary value problem for a nonlinear parabolic equation is considered. Two-sided estimates for the norms of values of a nonlinear operator in terms of those of a corresponding linear operator are obtained. On this basis, two-sided estimates for the modulus of continuity of a nonlinear inverse problem in terms of that of a corresponding linear problem are obtained. A method of auxiliary boundary conditions is used to construct stable approximate solutions to the nonlinear inverse problem. An accurate (to an order) error estimate for the method of auxiliary boundary conditions is obtained on a uniform regularization class.  相似文献

This paper is an extension of the preceding study (Nakao, this journal, 1991) in which we described a numerical verification method of the solution for one-space dimensional parabolic problems, to the several-space dimensional case. Here, numerical verification means the automatic proof of the existence of solutions to the problems by some numerical techniques on a computer. We reformulate the verification condition for nonlinear parabolic initial boundary value problems using the fixed-point problem of a compact operator on certain function spaces. As in the preceding study based upon a simple C0 finite-element approximation and its constructive a priori error estimates, a numerical verification procedure is presented with some numerical examples.  相似文献

In this article, we consider to solve the inverse initial value problem for an inhomogeneous space-time fractional diffusion equation. This problem is ill-posed and the quasi-boundary value method is proposed to deal with this inverse problem and obtain the series expression of the regularized solution for the inverse initial value problem. We prove the error estimates between the regularization solution and the exact solution by using an a priori regularization parameter and an a posteriori regularization parameter choice rule. Some numerical results in one-dimensional case and two-dimensional case show that our method is effcient and stable.  相似文献

A neural network approximation algorithm for solving inverse geoelectrics problems in the class of grid (block) models of media is presented. The algorithm is based on using neural networks for constructing an approximate inverse operator and enables formalized construction of solutions of inverse geoelectrics problem with a total number of sought-for medium parameters of ~ n · 103. The correctness of the problem of constructing neural network inverse operators is considered. A posteriori estimates of the degree of ambiguity of solutions of the resulting inverse problem are calculated. The operation of the algorithm is illustrated by examples of 2D and 3D inversions of synthetic and field geoelectric data obtained by the MTS method.  相似文献

Two explicit error representation formulas are derived for degenerate parabolic PDEs, which are based on evaluating a parabolic residual in negative norms. The resulting upper bounds are valid for any numerical method, and rely on regularity properties of solutions of a dual parabolic problem in nondivergence form with vanishing diffusion coefficient. They are applied to a practical space-time discretization consisting of piecewise linear finite elements over highly graded unstructured meshes, and backward finite differences with varying time-steps. Two rigorous a posteriori error estimates are derived for this scheme, and used in designing an efficient adaptive algorithm, which equidistributes space and time discretization errors via refinement/coarsening. A simulation finally compares the behavior of the rigorous a posteriori error estimators with a heuristic approach, and hints at the potentials and reliability of the proposed method.

We derive optimal order a posteriori error estimates for time discretizations by both the Crank-Nicolson and the Crank-Nicolson-Galerkin methods for linear and nonlinear parabolic equations. We examine both smooth and rough initial data. Our basic tool for deriving a posteriori estimates are second-order Crank-Nicolson reconstructions of the piecewise linear approximate solutions. These functions satisfy two fundamental properties: (i) they are explicitly computable and thus their difference to the numerical solution is controlled a posteriori, and (ii) they lead to optimal order residuals as well as to appropriate pointwise representations of the error equation of the same form as the underlying evolution equation. The resulting estimators are shown to be of optimal order by deriving upper and lower bounds for them depending only on the discretization parameters and the data of our problem. As a consequence we provide alternative proofs for known a priori rates of convergence for the Crank-Nicolson method.

In this article, we study a Galerkin method for a nonstationary operator equation with a leading self-adjoint operator A(t) and a subordinate nonlinear operator F. The existence of the strong solutions of the Cauchy problem for differential and approximate equations are proved. New error estimates for the approximate solutions and their derivatives are obtained. The developed method is applied to an initial boundary value problem for a partial differential equation of parabolic type.  相似文献
