A module is said to be distributive if the lattice of all its submodules is distributive. A module is called semidistributive if it is a direct sum of distributive modules. Right semidistributive rings, as well as distributively decomposable rings, are investigated. Translated fromMatematicheskie Zemetki, Vol. 65, No. 2, pp. 307–313, February, 1999.  相似文献

We obtain criteria for the existence of a (left) unit in rings (arbitrary, Artinian, Noetherian, prime, and so on) that are based on the systematic study of properties of stable subsets of modules and their stabilizers that generalize the technique of idempotents. We study a class of quasiunitary rings that is a natural extension of classes of rings with unit and of von Neumann (weakly) regular rings, which inherits may properties of these classes. Some quasiunitary radicals of arbitrary rings are constructed, and the size of these radicals “measures the probability” of the existence of a unit. Further Results on Finitely Generated Projective Modules   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper, the exchange rings R whose primitive factor rings are artinian are studied. The following results are proved: for any exchange ring R and any two-sided ideal I of R, K 0(π) : K 0(R)→K 0(R/I) is a group epimorphism with the kernel {[P]−[Q] |P = PI, Q = QI}; there is an isomorphism of ordered groups from K 0(R) to the gorup of all such functions ƒ P : XQ(Pp(R)), where X is the set of all primitive ideals of R and Q, the rational integers. Given a significative class of commutative rings, we study the precise conditions under which a commutative ring R has an -envelope. A full answer is obtained when is the class of fields, semisimple commutative rings or integral domains. When is the class of Noetherian rings, we give a full answer when the Krull dimension of R is zero and when the envelope is required to be epimorphic. The general problem is reduced to identifying the class of non-Noetherian rings having a monomorphic Noetherian envelope, which we conjecture is the empty class.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study codes over finite principal ideal rings. To do this, we begin with codes over finite chain rings as a natural generalization of codes over Galois rings GR(p e l) (including ). We give sufficient conditions on the existence of MDS codes over finite chain rings and on the existence of self-dual codes over finite chain rings. We also construct MDS self-dual codes over Galois rings GF(2 e l) of length n = 2 l for any a ≥ 1 and l ≥ 2. Torsion codes over residue fields of finite chain rings are introduced, and some of their properties are derived. Finally, we describe MDS codes and self-dual codes over finite principal ideal rings by examining codes over their component chain rings, via a generalized Chinese remainder theorem.   相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let ? be a class of right R-modules. The notions of ?-injectivity and ?-flatness are used to investigate right ?-Noetherian rings, right ?-hereditary rings, and right ?-coherent rings. For an almost excellent extension S ≥ R, if either ring is the above-mentioned ring, so is the other. Specializing the class ?, some known results can be obtained and extended as corollaries.  相似文献

A ring R is called “left generalized morphic” if for every element a in R, there exists b ∈ R such that l(a)? R/Rb, where l(a) denotes the left annihilator of a in R. The aim of this article is to investigate these rings. Several examples are given. They include left morphic rings and left p.p. rings. As applications, some homological dimensions over these rings are defined and studied.  相似文献

R is called a left PS (resp. left min-coherent, left universally mininjective) ring if every simple left ideal is projective (resp. finitely presented, a direct summand of R). We first investigate when the endomorphism ring of a module is a PS ring, a min-coherent ring, or a universally mininjective ring. Then we characterize PS rings and universally mininjective rings in terms of endomorphisms of mininjective and min-flat modules. Finally, we study commutative min-coherent rings and (universally) mininjective rings using properties of homomorphism modules of special modules.  相似文献

We show that an infinite cyclic covering space M′ of a PD n -complex M is a PD n-1-complex if and only if χ(M) = 0, M′ is homotopy equivalent to a complex with finite [(n−1)/2]-skeleton and π1(M′) is finitely presentable. This is best possible in terms of minimal finiteness assumptions on the covering space. We give also a corresponding result for covering spaces M ν with covering group a PD r -group under a slightly stricter finiteness condition.   相似文献

A right module M over a ring R is called feebly Baer if, whenever xa = 0 with x ∈ M and a ∈ R, there exists e2 = e ∈ R such that xe = 0 and ea = a. The ring R is called feebly Baer if RR is a feebly Baer module. These notions are motivated by the commutative analog discussed in a recent paper by Knox, Levy, McGovern, and Shapiro [6 Knox , M. L. , Levy , R. , McGovern , W. Wm. , Shapiro , J. ( 2009 ) Generalizations of complemented rings with applications to rings of functions. . J. Alg. Appl. 8 ( 1 ): 1740 .[Crossref] [Google Scholar]]. Basic properties of feebly Baer rings and modules are proved, and their connections with von Neumann regular rings are addressed.  相似文献

LetR be a finite commutative ring with identity and τ be a nonnegative integer. In studying linear finite automata, one of the basic problems is how to characterize the class of rings which have the property that every (weakly) invertible linear finite automaton ℳ with delay τ over R has a linear finite automaton ℳ′ over R which is a (weak) inverse with delay τ of ℳ. The rings and linear finite automata are studied by means of modules and it is proved that *-rings are equivalent to self-injective rings, and the unsolved problem (for τ=0) is solved. Moreover, a further problem of how to characterize the class of rings which have the property that every invertible with delay τ linear finite automaton ℳ overR has a linear finite automaton ℳ′ over R which is an inverse with delay τ′ for some τ′⩾τ is studied and solved. It is proved that a commutative ring is clean if and only if it is Gelfand with a totally disconnected maximal spectrum. It is shown that each indecomposable module over a commutative ring R satisfies a finite condition if and only if R P is an Artinian valuation ring for each maximal prime ideal P. Commutative rings for which each indecomposable module has a local endomorphism ring are studied. These rings are clean and elementary divisor rings. It is shown that each commutative ring R with a Hausdorff and totally disconnected maximal spectrum is local-global. Moreover, if R is arithmetic, then R is an elementary divisor ring.  相似文献

This paper gives lower estimates for the frequency modules of almost periodic solutions to equations of the form , where A generates a strongly continuous semigroup in a Banach space , F(t,x) is 2π-periodic in t and continuous in (t,x), and f is almost periodic. We show that the frequency module ℳ(u) of any almost periodic mild solution u of (*) and the frequency module ℳ(f) of f satisfy the estimate e 2π iℳ(f)e 2π iℳ(u). If F is independent of t, then the estimate can be improved: ℳ(f)⊂ℳ(u). Applications to the nonexistence of quasi-periodic solutions are also given.  相似文献

A commutative ring is said to have ITI with respect to an ideal 𝔞 if the 𝔞-torsion functor preserves injectivity of modules. Classes of rings with ITI or without ITI with respect to certain sets of ideals are identified. Behavior of ITI under formation of rings of fractions, tensor products, and idealization is studied. Applications to local cohomology over non-noetherian rings are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we construct a q-deformation of the Witt-Burnside ring of a profinite group over a commutative ring, where q ranges over the set of integers. When q = 1, it coincides with the Witt-Burnside ring introduced by Dress and Siebeneicher (Adv. Math. 70, 87–132 (1988)). To achieve our goal we first show that there exists a q-deformation of the necklace ring of a profinite group over a commutative ring. As in the classical case, i.e., the case q = 1, q-deformed Witt-Burnside rings and necklace rings always come equipped with inductions and restrictions. We also study their properties. As a byproduct, we prove a conjecture due to Lenart (J. Algebra. 199, 703-732 (1998)). Finally, we classify up to strict natural isomorphism in case where G is an abelian profinite group. A ring R is called left slightly P-coherent if C is P-injective, for every left R-module exact sequence 0→ABC→0 with A and B P-injective. The properties of slightly P-coherent rings and several examples are studied to show that left slightly P-coherent rings fall in between left P-coherent rings and left strongly P-coherent rings. In terms of some derived functors, some homological dimensions over these rings are investigated. As applications, some new characterizations of p.p.rings are given.  相似文献

It is well known that every serial Noetherian ring satisfies the restricted minimum condition. In particular, following Warfield (1975 Warfield , R. B. ( 1975 ). Serial rings and finitely presented modules . J. Algebra 37 : 187222 . [CSA] [CROSSREF] [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]), such a ring is a direct sum of an Artinian ring and hereditary prime rings. The aim of this note is to show that every serial ring having the restricted minimum condition is Noetherian.  相似文献

We characterize the lattice of all ideals of a Morita ring (semigroup) when the corresponding pair of rings (semigroups) in the Morita context are Morita equivalent s-unital (like-unitv) rings (semigroups).  相似文献
