We prove that every ring is a proper homomorphic image of some subdirectly irreducible ring. We also show that a finite ring R does not need to be isomorphic to the factor of a subdirectly irreducible ring by its monolith as well as R does not need to be a homomorphic image of a finite subdirectly irreducible ring. We provide an analogous characterization also for varieties of rings with unity, for the quasiregular rings, for the rings with involution and for their subvarieties of commutative rings.  相似文献

On fusible rings     
We answer in negative two of questions posed in Ghashghaei and McGovern. We also establish a new characterization of semiprime left Goldie rings by showing that a semiprime ring R is left Goldie iff it is regular left fusible and has finite left Goldie dimension.  相似文献

We extend a theorem of Kist for commutative PP rings to principally quasi-Baer rings for which every prime ideal contains a unique minimal prime ideal without using topological arguments. We define the concept of a doset Hibi ring and a generalized doset Hibi ring which are subrings of a Hibi ring and are normal a?ne semigroup rings. We apply the theory of (generalized) doset Hibi rings to analyze the rings of absolute orthogonal invariants and absolute special orthogonal invariants and show that these rings are normal and Cohen-Macaulay and has rational singularities if the characteristic of the base field is zero and is F-rational otherwise. We also state criteria of Gorenstein property of these rings.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to study codes over finite principal ideal rings. To do this, we begin with codes over finite chain rings as a natural generalization of codes over Galois rings GR(p e l) (including ). We give sufficient conditions on the existence of MDS codes over finite chain rings and on the existence of self-dual codes over finite chain rings. We also construct MDS self-dual codes over Galois rings GF(2 e l) of length n = 2 l for any a ≥ 1 and l ≥ 2. Torsion codes over residue fields of finite chain rings are introduced, and some of their properties are derived. Finally, we describe MDS codes and self-dual codes over finite principal ideal rings by examining codes over their component chain rings, via a generalized Chinese remainder theorem.   相似文献

We describe the sub-bimodules of matrix bimodules over two structural matrix rings. Structural matrix bimodules arise as particular such sub-bimodules, and we discuss when such a bimodule is faithful or indecomposable. As an application, we obtain a large class of rings whose Jordan isomorphisms are either ring isomorphisms or ring anti-isomorphisms. Complete upper block triangular matrix rings over 2-torsion-free indecomposable rings are elements of this class.  相似文献

We continue studying the associative rings complete and reduced in the sense of Martynov. We prove that the group of invertible elements of a reduced associative ring is reduced. We compute the complete radical of a group ring over the ring of integers and the complete radical of the group algebra over an arbitrary algebra over a finite prime field.  相似文献

Connections between radicals of alternative and right alternative rings are investigated, with emphasis on those which are nondegenerate in the sense that semi-simple rings have no absolute zero-divisors. In particular it is shown that nondegenerate radicals of right alternative rings have the Anderson-Divinsky-Sulinski property. Given a significative class of commutative rings, we study the precise conditions under which a commutative ring R has an -envelope. A full answer is obtained when is the class of fields, semisimple commutative rings or integral domains. When is the class of Noetherian rings, we give a full answer when the Krull dimension of R is zero and when the envelope is required to be epimorphic. The general problem is reduced to identifying the class of non-Noetherian rings having a monomorphic Noetherian envelope, which we conjecture is the empty class.  相似文献

We explore elementary matrix reduction over certain rings characterized by properties related to stable range. Let R be a commutative ring. We call R locally stable if aR+bR = R??xR such that R∕(a+bx)R has stable range 1. We study locally stable rings and prove that every locally stable Bézout ring is an elementary divisor ring. In this paper, we study Buchsbaum Stanley-Reisner rings with linear free resolution. We introduce the notion of Buchsbaum Stanley-Reisner rings with minimal multiplicity of initial degree , which extends the notion of Buchsbaum rings with minimal multiplicity defined by Goto. As an application, we give many examples of non-Cohen-Macaulay Buchsbaum Stanley-Reisner rings with linear resolution.

Under study are some conditions for the weakly regular modules to be closed under direct sums and the rings over which all modules are weakly regular. For an arbitrary right R-module M, we prove that every module in the category σ(M) is weakly regular if and only if each module in σ(M) is either semisimple or contains a nonzero M-injective submodule. We describe the normal rings over which all modules are weakly regular.  相似文献

A new class of rings, the class of weakly left localizable rings, is introduced. A ring R is called weakly left localizable if each non-nilpotent element of R is invertible in some left localization S?1R of the ring R. Explicit criteria are given for a ring to be a weakly left localizable ring provided the ring has only finitely many maximal left denominator sets (eg, this is the case for all left Noetherian rings). It is proved that a ring with finitely many maximal left denominator sets that satisfies some natural conditions is a weakly left localizable ring iff its left quotient ring is a direct product of finitely many local rings such that their radicals are nil ideals.  相似文献
