We extend the classical Schur–Weyl duality between representations of the groups ${SL(n, \mathbb{C})}$ and ${\mathfrak{S}_N}$ to the case of ${SL(n, \mathbb{C})}$ and the infinite symmetric group ${\mathfrak{S}_\mathbb{N}}$ . Our construction is based on a “dynamic,” or inductive, scheme of Schur–Weyl dualities. It leads to a new class of representations of the infinite symmetric group, which has not appeared earlier. We describe these representations and, in particular, find their spectral types with respect to the Gelfand–Tsetlin algebra. The main example of such a representation acts in an incomplete infinite tensor product. As an important application, we consider the weak limit of the so-called Coxeter–Laplace operator, which is essentially the Hamiltonian of the XXX Heisenberg model, in these representations.  相似文献

We construct a ${U_\hbar(\mathfrak{sp}(4))}$ -equivariant quantization of the four-dimensional complex sphere ${\mathbb{S}^4}$ regarded as a conjugacy class, Sp(4)/Sp(2) ×?Sp(2), of a simple complex group with non-Levi isotropy subgroup, through an operator realization of the quantum polynomial algebra ${\mathbb{C}_\hbar[\mathbb{S}^4]}$ on a highest weight module of ${U_\hbar(\mathfrak{sp}(4))}$ .  相似文献

The behavior of fermionic systems depends on the geometry of the system and the symmetry class of the Hamiltonian and observables. Almost commuting matrices arise from band-projected position observables in such systems. One expects the mathematical behavior of almost commuting Hermitian matrices to depend on two factors. One factor will be the approximate polynomial relations satisfied by the matrices. The other factor is what algebra the matrices are in, either ${{\bf M}_n(\mathbb{A})}$ M n ( A ) for ${\mathbb{A} = \mathbb{R}}$ A = R , ${\mathbb{A} = \mathbb{C}}$ A = C or ${\mathbb{A} = \mathbb{H}}$ A = H , the algebra of quaternions. There are potential obstructions keeping k-tuples of almost commuting operators from being close to a commuting k-tuple.We consider two-dimensional geometries and so this obstruction lives in ${KO_{-2}(\mathbb{A})}$ K O - 2 ( A ) . This obstruction corresponds to either the Chern number or spin Chern number in physics. We show that if this obstruction is the trivial element in K-theory then the approximation by commuting matrices is possible.  相似文献

We study the entropy flux in the stationary state of a finite one-dimensional sample ${\mathcal{S}}$ connected at its left and right ends to two infinitely extended reservoirs ${\mathcal{R}_{l/r}}$ at distinct (inverse) temperatures ${\beta_{l/r}}$ and chemical potentials ${\mu_{l/r}}$ . The sample is a free lattice Fermi gas confined to a box [0, L] with energy operator ${h_{\mathcal{S}, L}= - \Delta + v}$ . The Landauer-Büttiker formula expresses the steady state entropy flux in the coupled system ${\mathcal{R}_l + \mathcal{S} + \mathcal{R}_r}$ in terms of scattering data. We study the behaviour of this steady state entropy flux in the limit ${L \to \infty}$ and relate persistence of transport to norm bounds on the transfer matrices of the limiting half-line Schrödinger operator ${h_\mathcal{S}}$ .  相似文献

We build up local, time translation covariant Boundary Quantum Field Theory nets of von Neumann algebras ${\mathcal A_V}$ on the Minkowski half-plane M + starting with a local conformal net ${\mathcal A}$ of von Neumann algebras on ${\mathbb R}$ and an element V of a unitary semigroup ${\mathcal E(\mathcal A)}$ associated with ${\mathcal A}$ . The case V?=?1 reduces to the net ${\mathcal A_+}$ considered by Rehren and one of the authors; if the vacuum character of ${\mathcal A}$ is summable, ${\mathcal A_V}$ is locally isomorphic to ${\mathcal A_+}$ . We discuss the structure of the semigroup ${\mathcal E(\mathcal A)}$ . By using a one-particle version of Borchers theorem and standard subspace analysis, we provide an abstract analog of the Beurling-Lax theorem that allows us to describe, in particular, all unitaries on the one-particle Hilbert space whose second quantization promotion belongs to ${\mathcal E(\mathcal A^{(0)})}$ with ${\mathcal A^{(0)}}$ the U(1)-current net. Each such unitary is attached to a scattering function or, more generally, to a symmetric inner function. We then obtain families of models via any Buchholz-Mack-Todorov extension of ${\mathcal A^{(0)}}$ . A further family of models comes from the Ising model.  相似文献

In this paper we study the Liouville-type properties for solutions to the steady incompressible Euler equations with forces in ${\mathbb {R}^N}$ . If we assume “single signedness condition” on the force, then we can show that a ${C^1 (\mathbb {R}^N)}$ solution (v, p) with ${|v|^2+ |p| \in L^{\frac{q}{2}}(\mathbb {R}^N),\,q \in (\frac{3N}{N-1}, \infty)}$ is trivial, v = 0. For the solution of the steady Navier–Stokes equations, satisfying ${v(x) \to 0}$ as ${|x| \to \infty}$ , the condition ${\int_{\mathbb {R}^3} |\Delta v|^{\frac{6}{5}} dx < \infty}$ , which is stronger than the important D-condition, ${\int_{\mathbb {R}^3} |\nabla v|^2 dx < \infty}$ , but both having the same scaling property, implies that v = 0. In the appendix we reprove Theorem 1.1 (Chae, Commun Math Phys 273:203–215, 2007), using the self-similar Euler equations directly.  相似文献

New materials based on the composition of the mineral schafarzikite, FeSb $_{2}\textit {O}_{4}$ , have been synthesised. $^{57}$ Fe- and $^{121}$ Sb- Mössbauer spectroscopy shows that iron is present as Fe $^{2+}$ and that antimony is present as Sb $^{3+}$ . The presence of Pb $^{2+}$ on the antimony sites in materials of composition FeSb $_{1.5}$ Pb $_{0.5}\textit {O}_{4}$ induces partial oxidation of Fe $^{2+}_{}$ to Fe $^{3+}$ . The quasi-one-dimensional magnetic structure of schafarzikite is retained in FeSb $_{1.5}$ Pb $_{0.5}\textit {O}_{4}$ and gives rise to weakly coupled non-magnetic Fe $^{2+}$ ions coexisting with Fe $^{3+}$ ions in a magnetically ordered state. A similar model can be applied to account for the spectra recorded from the compound Co $_{0.5}$ Fe $_{0.5}$ Sb $_{1.5}$ Pb $_{0.5}\textit {O}_{4}$ .  相似文献

We review and update our results for $K\rightarrow \pi \pi $ decays and $K^0$ $\bar{K}^0$ mixing obtained by us in the 1980s within an analytic approximate approach based on the dual representation of QCD as a theory of weakly interacting mesons for large $N$ , where $N$ is the number of colors. In our analytic approach the Standard Model dynamics behind the enhancement of $\hbox {Re}A_0$ and suppression of $\hbox {Re}A_2$ , the so-called $\Delta I=1/2$ rule for $K\rightarrow \pi \pi $ decays, has a simple structure: the usual octet enhancement through the long but slow quark–gluon renormalization group evolution down to the scales $\mathcal{O}(1\, {\hbox { GeV}})$ is continued as a short but fast meson evolution down to zero momentum scales at which the factorization of hadronic matrix elements is at work. The inclusion of lowest-lying vector meson contributions in addition to the pseudoscalar ones and of Wilson coefficients in a momentum scheme improves significantly the matching between quark–gluon and meson evolutions. In particular, the anomalous dimension matrix governing the meson evolution exhibits the structure of the known anomalous dimension matrix in the quark–gluon evolution. While this physical picture did not yet emerge from lattice simulations, the recent results on $\hbox {Re}A_2$ and $\hbox {Re}A_0$ from the RBC-UKQCD collaboration give support for its correctness. In particular, the signs of the two main contractions found numerically by these authors follow uniquely from our analytic approach. Though the current–current operators dominate the $\Delta I=1/2$ rule, working with matching scales $\mathcal{O}(1 \, {\hbox { GeV}})$ we find that the presence of QCD-penguin operator $Q_6$ is required to obtain satisfactory result for $\hbox {Re}A_0$ . At NLO in $1/N$ we obtain $R=\hbox {Re}A_0/\hbox {Re}A_2= 16.0\pm 1.5$ which amounts to an order of magnitude enhancement over the strict large $N$ limit value $\sqrt{2}$ . We also update our results for the parameter $\hat{B}_K$ , finding $\hat{B}_K=0.73\pm 0.02$ . The smallness of $1/N$ corrections to the large $N$ value $\hat{B}_K=3/4$ results within our approach from an approximate cancelation between pseudoscalar and vector meson one-loop contributions. We also summarize the status of $\Delta M_K$ in this approach.  相似文献

We prove the analogue of Weyl’s law for a noncommutative Riemannian manifold, namely the noncommutative two torus ${\mathbb{T}_{\theta}^{2}}$ equipped with a general translation invariant conformal structure and a Weyl conformal factor. This is achieved by studying the asymptotic distribution of the eigenvalues of the perturbed Laplacian on ${\mathbb{T}_{\theta}^{2}}$ . We also prove the analogue of Connes’ trace theorem by showing that the Dixmier trace and a noncommutative residue coincide on pseudodifferential operators of order ?2 on ${\mathbb{T}_{\theta}^{2}}$ .  相似文献

The basic operator ordering regarding to coordinate-momentum operator is discussed by virtue of the technique of integration within $\mathfrak{Q}$ -ordering (all Q are on the left of all P) and $\mathfrak{P}$ -ordering (all P are on the left of all Q). We derive new operator-ordering identities about $\mathfrak{Q}$ -ordering , $\mathfrak{P}$ -ordering and Weyl-ordering of both single-mode and two-mode squeezing operators. Its application in combinatorics is pointed out.  相似文献

We extend Okounkov and Pandharipande’s work on the equivariant Gromov–Witten theory of ${\mathbb{P}^1}$ to a class of stacky curves ${\mathcal{X}}$ . Our main result uses virtual localization and the orbifold ELSV formula to express the tau function ${\tau_\mathcal{X}}$ as a vacuum expectation on a Fock space. As corollaries, we prove the decomposition conjecture for these ${\mathcal{X}}$ , and prove that ${\tau_\mathcal{X}}$ satisfies a version of the 2-Toda hierarchy. Coupled with degeneration techniques, the result should lead to treatment of general orbifold curves.  相似文献

We show that the knowledge of the set of the Cauchy data on the boundary of a bounded open set in ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ , ${n \geq 3}$ , for the magnetic Schrödinger operator with L magnetic and electric potentials, determines the magnetic field and electric potential inside the set uniquely. The proof is based on a Carleman estimate for the magnetic Schrödinger operator with a gain of two derivatives.  相似文献

We study Lagrangian points on smooth holomorphic curves in ${\rm T}{\mathbb P}^1$ equipped with a natural neutral Kähler structure, and prove that they must form real curves. By virtue of the identification of ${\rm T}{\mathbb P}^1$ with the space ${\mathbb L}({\mathbb E}^3)$ of oriented affine lines in Euclidean 3-space ${\mathbb E}^3$ , these Lagrangian curves give rise to ruled surfaces in ${\mathbb E}^3$ , which we prove have zero Gauss curvature. Each ruled surface is shown to be the tangent lines to a curve in ${\mathbb E}^3$ , called the edge of regression of the ruled surface. We give an alternative characterization of these curves as the points in ${\mathbb E}^3$ where the number of oriented lines in the complex curve Σ that pass through the point is less than the degree of Σ. We then apply these results to the spectral curves of certain monopoles and construct the ruled surfaces and edges of regression generated by the Lagrangian curves.  相似文献

Let ${Y_{m|n}^{\ell}}$ be the super Yangian of general linear Lie superalgebra for ${\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}}$ . Let ${e \in \mathfrak{gl}_{m\ell|n\ell}}$ be a “rectangular” nilpotent element and ${\mathcal{W}_e}$ be the finite W-superalgebra associated to e. We show that ${Y_{m|n}^{\ell}}$ is isomorphic to ${\mathcal{W}_e}$ .  相似文献

We consider Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps associated with (not necessarily self-adjoint) Schrödinger operators describing nonlocal interactions in ${L^2(\Omega; d^n x)}$ , where ${\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n}$ , ${n\in\mathbb{N}}$ , ${n\geq 2}$ , are open sets with a compact, nonempty boundary ${\partial\Omega}$ satisfying certain regularity conditions. As an application we describe a reduction of a certain ratio of Fredholm perturbation determinants associated with operators in ${L^2(\Omega; d^{n} x)}$ to Fredholm perturbation determinants associated with operators in ${L^2(\partial\Omega; d^{n-1} \sigma)}$ , ${n\in\mathbb{N}}$ , ${n\geq 2}$ . This leads to an extension of a variant of a celebrated formula due to Jost and Pais, which reduces the Fredholm perturbation determinant associated with a Schrödinger operator on the half-line ${(0,\infty)}$ , in the case of local interactions, to a simple Wronski determinant of appropriate distributional solutions of the underlying Schrödinger equation.  相似文献

Trivalent holmium-doped K–Sr–Al phosphate glasses ( $\mathrm{P}_{2}\mathrm{O}_{5}$ $\mathrm{K}_{2}\mathrm{O}$ –SrO– $\mathrm{Al}_{2}\mathrm{O}_{3}$ $\mathrm{Ho}_{2}\mathrm{O}_{3}$ ) were prepared, and their spectroscopic properties have been evaluated using absorption, emission, and excitation measurements. The Judd–Ofelt theory has been used to derive spectral intensities of various absorption bands from measured absorption spectrum of 1.0 mol% $\mathrm{Ho}_{2}\mathrm{O}_{3}$ -doped K–Sr–Al phosphate glass. The Judd–Ofelt intensity parameters ( $\varOmega_{\lambda}$ , $\times10^{-20}~\mathrm{cm}^{2}$ ) have been determined of the order of $\varOmega_{2} = 11.39$ , $\varOmega_{4} = 3.59$ , and $\varOmega_{6} = 2.92$ , which in turn used to derive radiative properties such as radiative transition probability, radiative lifetime, branching ratios, etc. for excited states of $\mathrm{Ho}^{3+}$ ions. The radiative lifetimes for the ${}^{5}F_{4}$ , ${}^{5}S_{2}$ , and ${}^{5}F_{5}$ levels of $\mathrm{Ho}^{3+}$ ions are found to be 169, 296, and 317 μs, respectively. The stimulated emission cross-section for 2.05-μm emission was calculated by the McCumber theory and found to be $9.3\times10^{-2 1}~\mathrm{cm}^{2}$ . The wavelength-dependent gain coefficient with population inversion rate has been evaluated. The results obtained in the titled glasses are discussed systematically and compared with other $\mathrm{Ho}^{3+}$ -doped systems to assess the possibility for visible and infrared device applications.  相似文献

Let $\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H})$ be the set of all bounded linear operators on the separable Hilbert space  $\mathcal{H}$ . A (generalized) quantum operation is a bounded linear operator defined on  $\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H})$ , which has the form $\varPhi_{\mathcal{A}}(X)=\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}A_{i}XA_{i}^{*}$ , where $A_{i}\in\mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H})$ (i=1,2,…) satisfy $\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}A_{i}A_{i}^{*}\leq \nobreak I$ in the strong operator topology. In this paper, we establish the relationship between the (generalized) quantum operation $\varPhi_{\mathcal{A}}$ and its dual $\varPhi_{\mathcal {A}}^{\dag}$ with respect to the set of fixed points and the noiseless subspace. In particular, we also partially characterize the extreme points of the set of all (generalized) quantum operations and give some equivalent conditions for the correctable quantum channel.  相似文献

Given a positive and unitarily invariant Lagrangian ${\mathcal{L}}$ defined in the algebra of matrices, and a fixed time interval ${[0,t_0]\subset\mathbb R}$ , we study the action defined in the Lie group of ${n\times n}$ unitary matrices ${\mathcal{U}(n)}$ by $$\mathcal{S}(\alpha)=\int_0^{t_0} \mathcal{L}(\dot\alpha(t))\,dt, $$ where ${\alpha:[0,t_0]\to\mathcal{U}(n)}$ is a rectifiable curve. We prove that the one-parameter subgroups of ${\mathcal{U}(n)}$ are the optimal paths, provided the spectrum of the exponent is bounded by π. Moreover, if ${\mathcal{L}}$ is strictly convex, we prove that one-parameter subgroups are the unique optimal curves joining given endpoints. Finally, we also study the connection of these results with unitarily invariant metrics in ${\mathcal{U}(n)}$ as well as angular metrics in the Grassmann manifold.  相似文献

Let the pair of operators, (H, T), satisfy the weak Weyl relation: $$T{\rm e}^{-itH}={\rm e}^{-itH}(T+t),$$ where H is self-adjoint and T is closed symmetric. Suppose that g is a real-valued Lebesgue measurable function on ${\mathbb {R}}$ such that ${g\in C^2(\mathbb {R}\backslash K)}$ for some closed subset ${K\subset\mathbb {R}}$ with Lebesgue measure zero. Then we can construct a closed symmetric operator D such that (g(H), D) also obeys the weak Weyl relation.  相似文献
