本文研究了弱紧局部一致凸空间中度量投影的弱连续性,将Ｂ．Ｂ．Ｐａｎｄａ和Ｏ．Ｐ．Ｋａｐｏｏｒ的相应结论推广到更一般的弱紧局部一致凸空间．最后给出了局部一致凸点的一个必要条件．     

凸性与度量投影的连续性

本文研究近强凸、近非常凸Banach空间中度量投影的连续性。获得如下结果：若A是近强凸（近非常凸）空间中的逼近凸集,则度量投影PA是范-范上半连续的（范-弱上半连续的）。此外,我们还利用度量投影的连续性给出Banach空间为近强凸、近非常凸的一些充分必要条件。     

一致凸的Banach空间上的渐近非扩张映象的迭代序列的收敛性定理

本文把「３」的主要结果从Ｈｉｌｂｅｒｔ空间推广到一致凸的Ｂａｎａｃｈ空间,证明了一致凸的Ｂａｎａｃｈ空间上的渐近非扩张映象的迭代序列的收敛性。     

关于度量投影的连续性

本文引入的Ｂａｎａｃｈ空间的（Ｃ－Ｉ）、（Ｃ－Ⅱ），（Ｃ－Ⅲ）等几何性质，证明了如下结果。设Ｍ是Ｂａｎａｃｈ空间的逼近凸子集，如果Ｂａｎａｃｈ空间有性质（Ｃ－Ｉ），（Ｃ－Ⅱ）（Ｃ－Ⅲ），则度量投影ＰＭ连续（范数－范数上半连续，范数－弱上半连续）。这些结果推广了文（４，７，８）相应的定理。最近，Ｄ．Ｋｕｔｚａｒｏｖａ，Ｂｏｒ－Ｌｕｈ Ｌｉｎ等引入了一些新的凸性空间，本文还研究了这些凸性空间中度量投影     

An Upper Bound for the Hyperbolic Metric of a Convex Domain

In [1], Beardon introduced the Apollonian metric defined forany domain D in Rⁿ by This metric is Möbius invariant, and for simply connectedplane domains it satisfies the inequality _D2_D, where _D denotesthe hyperbolic distance in D, and so gives a lower bound onthe hyperbolic distance. Furthermore, it is shown in [1, Theorem6.1] that for convex plane domains, the Apollonian metric satisfies, and, by considering the example of the infinite strip {x + iy:|y|<1}, that the best possibleconstant in this inequality is at least . In this paper we makethe following improvements.

The paper presents diverse methods for estimating the coveringnumber of a precompact subset of a Banach space when the entropyof the set of its extremal points is already known. In the caseof a Hilbert space, the Gelfand diameters of the subset arealso estimated.     

Modulus of Strong Proximinality and Continuity of Metric Projection

In this paper we initiate a quantitative study of strong proximinality. We define a quantity ϵ(x, t) which we call as modulus of strong proximinality and show that the metric projection onto a strongly proximinal subspace Y of a Banach space X is continuous at x if and only if ϵ(x, t) is continuous at x whenever t > 0. The best possible estimate of ϵ(x, t) characterizes spaces with 1 \frac121 \frac{1}{2} ball property. Estimates of ϵ(x, t) are obtained for subspaces of uniformly convex spaces and of strongly proximinal subspaces of finite codimension in C(K).

An Iteration Process for Nonlinear Mappings in Uniformly Convex Linear Metric Spaces

We obtain necessary conditions for convergence of the Cauchy Picard sequence of iterations for Tricomi mappings defined on a uniformly convex linear complete metric space.

In this paper, we establish some relations between the Hilbert＇s projective metric and the norm on a Banach space and show that the metric and the norm induce equivalent convergences at certain set. As applications, we utilize the main results to discuss the eigenvalue problems for a class of positive homogeneous operators of degree a and the positive solutions for a class of nonlinear algebraic system.     

Remarks on Minimal Sets for Cyclic Mappings in Uniformly Convex Banach Spaces

In this article, we prove that every nonempty and convex pair of subsets of uniformly convex in every direction Banach spaces has the proximal normal structure and then we present a best proximity point theorem for cyclic relatively nonexpansive mappings in such spaces. We also study the structure of minimal sets of cyclic relatively nonexpansive mappings and obtain the existence results of best proximity points for cyclic mappings using some new geometric notions on minimal sets. Finally, we prove a best proximity point theorem for a new class of cyclic contraction-type mappings in the setting of uniformly convex Banach spaces and so, we improve the main conclusions of Eldred and Veeramani.

Non-expansive Mappings and Iterative Methods in Uniformly Convex Banach Spaces

In this article, we will investigate the properties of iterative sequence for non-expansive mappings and present several strong and weak convergence results of successive approximations to fixed points of non-expansive mappings in uniformly convex Banach spaces. The results presented in this article generalize and improve various ones concerned with constructive techniques for the fixed points of non-expansive mappings.
