NaY zeolite tubular membranes in an industrial scale of 80 cm long were synthesized on monolayer and asymmetric porous supports. The quality of synthesized membranes were evaluated by pervaporation (PV) experiments in 80 cm long at 75 °C in a mixture of water (10 wt.%)/ethanol (90 wt.%), resulting in higher permeation fluxes of 5.1 kg m−2 h−1 in the monolayer type membrane and of 9.1–10.1 kg m−2 h−1 in the asymmetric-type membranes, respectively. The uniformity with small performance fluctuation in longitudinal direction of the membranes were observed by PV for 10–12 cm long samples at 50 °C in a mixture of methanol (10 wt.%)/MTBE (90 wt.%). The ethanol single component permeation experiments in PV and vapor permeation (VP) up to 130 °C and 570 kPa were performed to determine the relations between the ethanol flux and the ethanol pressure difference across the membrane which is represented by permeance (Π, mol m−2 s−1 Pa−1) for estimate of potential of ethanol extraction through the present NaY zeolite membranes applying feasible studies. Results indicate that (1) the permeation fluxes are linearly proportional to the driving force of vapor pressure for each sample in VP and PV. The permeances through an asymmetric support type membrane were rather constant of 0.6–1.2 × 10−7 mol m−2 s−1 Pa−1 in the wide temperature range of 90–130 °C in PV and VP, indicating that the ethanol permeances have weak temperature dependency with the feed at the saturated vapor pressure.

The results of superheating VP experiments showed that ethanol permeation fluxes are increased with increasing of the degree of superheating at a given constant feed vapor pressure. The ethanol permeances are increased with increasing of temperature at a given feed vapor pressure. The superheating VP could be a feasible process in industry.  相似文献

Five different copolymer membranes, i.e. copolymer of acrylonitrile with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (PANHEMA), vinyl acetate (PANVAC) and methyl methacrylate (PANMMA) and styrene with vinyl acetate PSTYVAC) and methyl methacrylate (PSTYMMA) were synthesized, each with two different copolymer compositions (i.e. PANHEMA-1, PANHEMA-2, etc.). The copolymer membranes were synthesized on the basis of their relative solubility parameters with respect to acetone and hydrophilicity with respect to water. These membranes were used for pervaporative dehydration of acetone over the entire concentration range of 0–100 wt% water as well as acetone separation over 0–44 wt% acetone in feed. The acrylonitrile copolymers showed water selectivity with maximum water flux and selectivity for PANHEMA-2 copolymer (29.3 g/(m2 h), 16.73, respectively, for 2.5 wt% water in feed) while the styrene copolymers showed maximum acetone selectivity with reasonable acetone flux for PSTYMMA-1 copolymer (7.12 g/(m2 h), 12.61, respectively, for 1.6 wt% acetone in feed) membrane. The influence of one permeant on permeation of the other permeant was also studied in terms of permeation factor.  相似文献

A composite of oxygen ion conducting oxide Ce0.8Sm0.2O2−δ (60 vol.%) and electron conducting oxide La0.8Sr0.2CrO3−δ was prepared by sintering a powder compact at a temperature of 1550 °C. No significant reaction between the two constituent oxides was observed under preparation and oxygen permeation conditions. Appreciable oxygen permeation fluxes through the composite membrane were measured at elevated temperatures with one side of it exposed to the ambient air and the other side to a flowing helium gas stream. The oxygen flux initially increased with time, and took a long time to reach a steady value. A steady oxygen permeation flux as high as 1.4 × 10−7 mol cm−2 s−1 was obtained with a 0.3 mm thick membrane at 950 °C under a relatively small oxygen partial pressure difference of 0.21 bar/0.0092 bar. It was revealed that the overall oxygen permeation process was mainly limited by the transport in the bulk of the membrane in the range of the membrane thickness greater than 1.0 mm, and the limitation by the surface oxygen exchange came into play at reduced thickness of 0.6 mm.  相似文献

As part of a research project focusing on the development of a sustainable biocatalytic process for production of chiral secondary alcohols, the pervaporative separation of ethanol from ethanol/ethyl acetate/1-methoxy-2-propanol/1-methoxy-2-propyl acetate-mixtures through a commercial PVA-based membrane was investigated. Separation behavior of this mixture was studied in a range of mol fractions (10–70%), temperatures relevant for biocatalytic conversions (35–55 °C) and downstream pressures (35–200 mbar).

Pervaporation of the non-diluted multicomponent mixture was shown to be strongly influenced by interactions between the permeants and the membrane. Investigation of these interactions contributed to the understanding of the mass transport mechanism of this mixture. Overall, high fluxes were obtained, but small differences between the fastest permeating species were found. The fastest permeating species was ethanol, ethyl acetate or 1-methoxy-2-propanol depending on the feed composition.  相似文献

Polyallylamine (PAAm) was synthesized by free radical polymerization and characterized by Fourier transform infrared resonance (FT-IR) spectroscopy, hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The composite membranes were prepared by using PAAm–poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blend polymer as the separation layer and polysulfone (PSF) ultrafiltration membranes as the support layer. The surface and cross-section morphology of the membrane was inspected by environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM). The gas transport property of the membranes, including gas permeance, flux and selectivity, were investigated by using pure CO2, N2, CH4 gases and CO2/N2 gas mixture (20 vol% CO2 and 80 vol% N2) and CO2/CH4 gas mixture (10 vol% CO2 and 90 vol% CH4). The plots of gas permeance or flux versus feed gas pressure imply that CO2 permeation through the membranes follows facilitated transport mechanism whereas N2 and CH4 permeation follows solution–diffusion mechanism. Effect of PAAm content in the separation layer on gas transport property was investigated by measuring the membranes with 0–50 wt% PAAm content. With increasing PAAm content, gas permeance increases initially, reaches a maximum, and then decreases gradually. For CO2/N2 gas mixture, the membranes with 10 wt% PAAm content show the highest CO2 permeance of about 1.80 × 10−5 cm3 (STP) cm−2 s−1 KPa−1 and CO2/N2 selectivity of 80 at 0.1 MPa feed gas pressure. For CO2/CH4 gas mixture, the membranes with 20 wt% PAAm content display the highest CO2 permeance of about 1.95 × 10−5 cm3 (STP) cm−2 s−1 KPa−1 and CO2/CH4 selectivity of 58 at 0.1 MPa feed gas pressure. In order to explore the possible reason of gas permeance varying with PAAm content, the crystallinity of PVA and PAAm–PVA blend polymers was measured by X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra. The experimental results show an inverse relationship between crystallinity and gas permeance, e.g., a minimum crystallinity and a maximum CO2 permeance are obtained at 20 wt% PAAm content, indicating that the possibility of increasing CO2 permeance with PAAm content due to the increase of carrier concentration could be weakened by the increase of crystallinity.  相似文献

New types of supported Pd membranes were developed for high temperature H2 separation. Sequential combinations of boehmite sol slip casting and film coating, and electroless plating (ELP) steps were designed to synthesize “Pd encapsulated” and “Pd nanopore” membranes supported on -Al2O3 hollow fibers. The permeation characteristics (flux, permselectivity) of a series of unaged and aged encapsulated and nanopore membranes with different Pd loadings were compared to those of a conventional 1 μm Pd/4 μm γ-Al2O3/-Al2O3 hollow fiber membrane. The unaged encapsulated membrane exhibited good performance with ideal H2/N2 separation factors of 3000–8000 and H2 flux 0.4 mol/m2 s at 370 °C and a transmembrane pressure gradient of 4 × 105 Pa. The unaged Pd nanopore membranes had a lower initial flux and permselectivity, but exhibited superior performance with extended use (200 h). At the same conditions the unaged 2.6 μm Pd nanopore membrane had a H2 flux of 0.16 mol/m2 s and separation factor of 500 and the unaged 0.6 μm Pd nanopore membrane had a H2 flux of 0.25 mol/m2 s and separation factor of 50. Both nanopore membranes stabilized after 40 h of operation, in contrast to a continued deterioration of the permselectivity for the other membranes. An analysis of the permeation data reveals a combination of Knudsen and convective transport through membrane defects. A phenomenological, qualitative model of the synthesis and resulting structure of the encapsulated and nanopore membranes is presented to explain the permeation results.  相似文献

Porous titanium oxide membranes with pore sizes in the range of 2.5–22 nm were prepared by a sol–gel procedure, and were applied for decomposition of methanol and ethanol as model volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in a photocatalytic membrane reactor, where oxidation reaction occurs both on the surface and inside the porous TiO2 membrane while reactants are permeating via one-pass flow. Methanol was completely photo-oxidized by black-light irradiation to CO2 when methanol at a concentration of 100 ppm was used at a feed flow rate of 500 × 10−6 m3/min, but the conversion decreased when the MeOH concentration in the feed was increased. Pt-modification was carried out by photo-deposition, and led to a decrease in pore diameter. Using Pt-modified membranes, a nearly complete oxidation of methanol up to 10,000 ppm at a feed flow rate of 500 × 10−6 m3/min was observed. Thus, such membranes would be effective for purifying a permeate stream after one-pass permeation through the TiO2 membranes. The decomposition of ethanol is also discussed.  相似文献

The hydrogen permeation and stability of tubular palladium alloy (Pd–23%Ag) composite membranes have been investigated at elevated temperatures and pressures. In our analysis we differentiate between dilution of hydrogen by other gas components, hydrogen depletion along the membrane length, concentration polarization adjacent to the membrane surface, and effects due to surface adsorption, on the hydrogen flux. A maximum H2 flux of 1223 mL cm−2 min−1 or 8.4 mol m−2 s−1 was obtained at 400 °C and 26 bar hydrogen feed pressure, corresponding to a permeance of 6.4 × 10−3 mol m−2 s−1 Pa−0.5. A good linear relationship was found between hydrogen flux and pressure as predicted for rate controlling bulk diffusion. In a mixture of 50% H2 + 50% N2 a maximum H2 flux of 230 mL cm−2 min−1 and separation factor of 1400 were achieved at 26 bar. The large reduction in hydrogen flux is mainly caused by the build-up of a hydrogen-depleted concentration polarization layer adjacent to the membrane due to insufficient mass transport in the gas phase. Substituting N2 with CO2 results in further reduction of flux, but not as large as for CO where adsorption prevail as the dominating flow controlling factor. In WGS conditions (57.5% H2, 18.7% CO2, 3.8% CO, 1.2% CH4 and 18.7% steam), a H2 permeance of 1.1 × 10−3 mol m−2 s−1 Pa−0.5 was found at 400 °C and 26 bar feed pressure. Operating the membrane for 500 h under various conditions (WGS and H2 + N2 mixtures) at 26 bars indicated no membrane failure, but a small decrease in flux. A peculiar flux inhibiting effect of long term exposure to high concentration of N2 was observed. The membrane surface was deformed and expanded after operation, mainly following the topography of the macroporous support.  相似文献

Homogeneous membranes were prepared by casting the solution of blended chitosan and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) on a glass plate. The percent weight of chitosan in the membrane was varied from 0 to 100%. The membrane thickness was in the range of 15–30 μm. The membranes were heat treated at 150 °C for an hour. After that the membranes were crosslinked by glutaraldehyde and sulfuric acid in acetone aqueous solution. The membranes were tested at 30–60 °C for dehydration performance of 50–95% isopropanol aqueous solutions. At around 90% of isopropanol in the feed mixture, permeate flux increased whereas the percent of water in permeate tended to decrease when the feed temperature increased for all membranes, except that the water content in permeate from the membrane containing 75 wt.% chitosan remained constant. The swelling degree in water and the total flux increased with increasing chitosan content in membranes. The effect of temperature on permeate flux followed the Arrhenius relationship. The permeate flux decreased when isopropanol in the feed increased for all membranes. However, water content in permeate and isopropanol concentration in the feed formed complex relationship for different chitosan content membranes. Sorption did not appear to have significant effects on separation. The membrane containing chitosan 75% performed the best. For a feed solution containing 90% isopropanol at 60 °C, the permeate flux was 644 g/m2 h with water content of nearly 100% in the permeate. At 55% isopropanol in the feed at 60 °C, the permeate flux was 3812 g/m2 h. In the range of 55–95% of isopropanol in the feed, the water content in permeate was more than 99.5%. This membrane showed very excellent performance with good mechanical strength. It is promising to develop this membrane for industrial uses.  相似文献

Pervaporation (PV) separation of water + isopropanol and water + 1,4-dioxane mixtures has been attempted using the blend membranes of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with 5 wt.% of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). These results have been compared with the plain PVA membrane. Both plain PVA and PVA/PMMA blend membranes have been crosslinked with glutaraldehyde in an acidic medium. The membranes were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and universal testing machine. Pervaporation separation experiments have been performed at 30 °C for 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 wt.% of feed water mixtures containing isopropanol as well as 1,4-dioxane. PVA/PMMA blend membrane has shown a selectivity of 400 for 10 wt.% of water in water + isopropanol feed, while for water + 1,4-dioxane feed mixture, membrane selectivity to water was 104 at 30 °C. For both the feed mixtures, selectivity for the blend membrane was higher than that observed for plain PVA membrane, but flux of the blend membrane was lower than that observed for the plain PVA membrane. Membranes of this study are able to remove as much as 98 wt.% of water from the feed mixtures of water + isopropanol, while 92 wt.% of water was removed from water + 1,4-dioxane feed mixtures at 30 °C. Flux of water increased for both the feed mixtures, while the selectivity decreased at higher feed water concentrations. The same trends were observed at 40 and 50 °C for 10, 15 and 20 wt.% of water mixtures containing isopropanol as well as 1,4-dioxane feed mixtures, which also covered their azeotropic composition ranges. Membrane performance was studied by calculating flux (Jp), selectivity (), pervaporation separation index (PSI) and enrichment factor (β). Permeation flux followed the Arrhenius trend over the range of temperatures investigated. It was found that by introducing a hydrophobic PMMA polymer into a hydrophilic PVA, the selectivity increased dramatically, while flux decreased compared to plain PVA, due to a loss in PVA chain relaxation.  相似文献

The oxygen separation membrane having perovskite structure for the partial oxidation of methane to synthesis gas was prepared. La0.7Sr0.3Ga0.6Fe0.4O3−δ (LSGF) perovskite membrane coated with La0.6Sr0.4CoO3−δ (LSC) (M1), and the one side of M1 membrane coated with NiO (M2) was prepared to examine the partial oxidation of methane. The single oxygen permeations of the LSC + LSGF (M1) membrane and NiO coated membrane (M2) were measured. The oxygen permeation flux in M1 membrane was higher than that of M1 membrane at 850 °C.

The partial oxidation experiment of methane using the prepared membranes was examined at 850 °C. The value of CH4 conversion and CO selectivity of M2 membrane was higher than that of M1 membrane.

NiO/NiAl2O4 catalyst was used to improve the methane conversion, and the partial oxidation experiment of methane with M1 membrane was examined at 850 °C. The CH4 conversion was 88%, and CO selectivity was 100%.  相似文献

A series of hydroxyl-conducting anion-exchange membranes were prepared by blending chloroacetylated poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (CPPO) with bromomethylated poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (BPPO), and their fuel cell-related performances were evaluated. The resulting membranes exhibited high hydroxyl conductivities (0.022–0.032 S cm−1 at 25 °C) and low methanol permeability (1.35 × 10−7 to 1.46 × 10−7 cm2 s−1). All the blend membranes proved to be miscible or partially miscible under the investigations of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and differential scanning calorimeters (DSC). By condition optimization, the blend membranes with 30–40 wt% CPPO are recommended for application in direct methanol alkaline fuel cells because they showed low methanol permeability, excellent mechanical properties and comparatively high hydroxyl conductivity.  相似文献

Cardo polyetherketone (PEK-C) composite membranes were prepared by casting glutaraldehyde (GA) cross-linked sulfonated cardo polyetherketone (SPEK-C) or silicotungstic acid (STA) filled SPEK-C and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blending onto a PEK-C substrate. The compatibility between the active layer and PEK-C substrate is improved by immersing the PEK-C substrate in a GA cross-linked sodium alginate (NaAlg) solution and using water–dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a co-solvent for preparing the STA-PVA-SPEK-C/GA active layer. The pervaporation (PV) dehydration of acetic acid shows that permeation flux decreased and separation factor increased with increasing GA content in the homogeneous membranes. The permeation flux achieved a minimum and the separation factor a maximum when the GA content increased to a certain amount. Thereafter the permeation flux increased and the separation factor decreased with further increasing the GA content. The PV performance of the composite membranes is superior to that of the homogeneous membranes when the feed water content is below 25 wt%. The permeation activation energy of the composite membranes is lower than that of the homogeneous membranes in the PV dehydration of 10 wt% water in acetic acid. The STA-PVA-SPEK-C-GA/PEK-C composite membrane using water–DMSO as co-solvent has an excellent separation performance with a flux of 592 g m−2 h−1 and a separation factor of 91.2 at a feed water content of 10 wt% at 50 °C.  相似文献

A configuration of dense mixed ionic and electronic conducting (MIEC) membrane with layered morphological structure for oxygen separation, which combines the benefits of high oxygen permeation flux of cobalt-based membrane, high chemical stability of iron-based perovskite and high mechanical strength of thick membrane, was studied. The membrane is normally composed of two layers; each layer is a dense MIEC oxide. The substrate layer is a thick dense membrane with high oxygen permeability but relatively lower chemical stability. The feasibility of dense thick Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSCF5582) membrane as the substrate layer and Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.2Fe0.8O3−δ (BSCF5528) as the thin-film layer was mainly experimentally investigated. Both the BSCF5582 and the BSCF5528 show the same cubic perovskite structure and the similar lattice constant with no detrimental reaction products formed. By optimizing fabrication parameters of a simple dry pressing process, dual-layered membrane, free of cracks, was successfully fabricated. The oxygen permeation flux of a dual-layered membrane with the thin-film BSCF5528 layer facing to the sweep gas reached 2.1 mL cm−2 min−1 [STP] (1.56 × 10−6 mol cm−2 s−1) at 900 °C, which is about 3.5 times higher than that of the BSCF5528 membrane (0.6 mL cm−2 min−1, [STP] (4.46 × 10−7 mol cm−2 s−1) under the same conditions.  相似文献

Dense tubular Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSCFO) membranes were successfully prepared by the plastic extrusion method. The oxygen permeation flux was determined at different oxygen partial pressures in the shell side and different temperatures between 700 and 900 °C. The oxygen vacancy diffusion coefficients (Dv) at different temperatures were calculated from the dependence of oxygen permeation flux on the oxygen partial pressure term based on the surface current exchange model. No unsteady-state of oxygen permeation flux was observed at the initial stage in our experiments. The reason is the equilibrium time is too short (less than 10 min) to observe the unsteady-state in time. The increase of the helium flow rate can increase the oxygen permeation flux, which is due to the decrease of the oxygen partial pressure in the tube side with increasing of the helium flow rate. The oxygen permeation flux can also be affected by the air flow rate in the shell side when the air flow rate is lower than 150 ml/min. But the oxygen permeation flux is insensitive to the air flow rate when the air flow is higher than 150 ml/min. The membrane tube was operated steadily for 150 h with oxygen permeation flux of 1.12 ml/(cm2 min) at 875 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis showed that both the surface exposed to air and the surface exposed to helium of the BSCFO membrane tube after permeation for 150 h are similar to the fresh membrane tube in composition and structure. These results indicated that the membrane tube exhibits high structure stability.  相似文献

Novel nanocomposite polymeric membranes containing nanosized (30–100 nm) polyaniline (PANI) particles dispersed in poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) were prepared and used in the pervaporation separation of water–isopropanol feed mixtures ranging from 10 to 50 mass% of water at 30 °C. Of the three nanocomposite membranes prepared, the membrane containing 40:60 surface atomic concentration ratio of PANI:PVA produced the highest selectivity of 564 compared to a value of 77 observed for the plain PVA membrane. Flux of the nanocomposite membranes was lower than those observed for the plain PVA membrane, but selectivity improved considerably. Membranes were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The highest selectivity with the lowest flux was observed for 10 mass% water containing feed mixture. Flux increased with increasing amount of water in the feed, but selectivity decreased considerably. These results were attributed to the acid-doped PANI particles in the PVA membrane as a result of change in the micromorphology of the nanocomposite membranes. In addition, molar mass between cross-links and fractional free volume of the membranes are responsible for the varying membrane performance. Temperature effect on permeability was investigated for 10 mass% water containing feed with the membrane containing higher concentration of PANI particles, the presence of which could be responsible for varied effect of water permeation through the membrane. Membranes of this study could remove as much as 98% of water from the feed.  相似文献

Natural rubber (NR) and poly(styrene-co-butadiene) rubber (SBR) has been crosslinked with sulfur and accelerator with three different doses of varied accelerator to sulfur ratios to obtain three crosslinked membranes from each of these two rubbers (NR-1, NR-2 and NR-3 and SBR-1, SBR-2 and SBR-3). These six rubber membranes were used for pervaporative separation of toluene–methanol mixture up to 10 wt% of toluene in feed. It has been found that with increase in accelerator to sulfur ratio from membrane-3 to membrane-1, the vulcanization system shifts from conventional to efficient system resulting in higher degree of crosslink density and permeation selectivity. All of these membranes showed reasonably good range of flux (45.26 gm/m2 h for NR-3 to 12.0 gm/m2 h for SBR-1) and separation factor (162 for SBR-1 to 35.12 for NR-3) for 0.55 wt% of toluene in feed. Among these membranes NR-1 and SBR-1 with highest crosslink density showed maximum separation factor for toluene along with good flux. It has also been found that for comparable crosslink density SBR membranes showed better separation factor than NR membranes.  相似文献

In this experimental work the influence of co-existing gases on the hydrogen permeation through a Ti–Ni–Pd membrane was studied. It was found that nitrogen, carbon dioxide and helium do not influence the hydrogen permeation through the dense membrane. However, carbon monoxide influences the hydrogen flux at each temperature investigated (400–500 °C). The results show that for low CO concentration (i.e. at H2 upstream >80%), the hydrogen flux through the membrane decreases faster than linearly, while, at H2 upstream <80%, the slope is linear but smaller than the theoretical one.  相似文献

Pervaporation (PV) separation of water–acetonitrile mixture using sodium alginate (NaAlg) based mixed matrix membranes (MMM) comprising different amounts of nano NaA zeolite (10, 20 and 30 wt%) is investigated in various concentrations of water and temperatures. The prepared membranes are modified by sulfosuccinic acid (SSA) as a crosslinking agent. NaAlg-NaA/SSA membranes are synthesized by a solution casting technique. The process and membrane performance including separation factor, flux and activation energy of permeation are determined. Results reveal that adding of nano zeolite may lead to an increase in the flux and the separation factor of sodium alginate membrane up to 123 and 169%. In addition, using MMM in dehydration of a feed containing 30 wt% of water shows much better performance than alginate membrane. Furthermore, the activation energy of water permeation through MMM is predicted lower than sodium alginate membrane which reflects the facilitated permeation of water through MMM.  相似文献

This study deals with the separation of n-butanol from aqueous solutions by pervaporation. The effects of feed concentration, temperature, and membrane thickness on the separation performance were investigated. Over the low feed butanol concentration range (0.03–0.4 wt%) studied, the butanol flux was shown to increase proportionally with an increase in the feed butanol concentration, whereas the water flux was relatively constant. An increase in temperature increased both the butanol and water fluxes, and the increase in butanol flux was more pronounced than water flux, resulting in an increase in separation factor. While the permeation flux could be enhanced by reducing the membrane thickness as expected for all rate-controlled processes, the separation factor was compromised when the membrane became thinner. The effect of membrane thickness on the separation performance was analyzed taking into account the boundary layer effect. This could not be fully attributed to the concentration polarization, which was found not significant enough to dominate the mass transport. A variation in the membrane thickness would vary the local concentration of permeant inside the membrane, thereby affecting the permeation of butanol and water differently. Thus, caution should be exercised in using permeation flux normalized by a given thickness to predict the separation performance of a membrane with a different thickness because the membrane selectivity can be affected by the membrane thickness even in the absence of boundary layer effect.  相似文献
