The results from analyzing the yields of protons (p), deuterons (d), and tritons (t) formed in the absorption of stopped π mesons by intranuclear clusters are presented. The contributions from cluster absorption to the production of hydrogen isotopes in stopped pion absorption reactions are determined. Phenomenological formulas are proposed for describing the mass number (A) dependences of the yields of the primary protons with ~15% precision in the mass number range of 6 < A < 209 (and of the primary deuterons and tritons in the mass number range of 59 < A < 209). Evidence is observed of the constancy of the ratio between the elemental absorption widths for the absorption of pions by pp and pn pairs over the investigated range of mass numbers.  相似文献

The results based on the spectroscopy of superheavy hydrogen isotopes (4?7H), heavy helium isotopes (6,7He), and heavy lithium isotopes (7?12Li) produced in stopped pion absorption by light nuclei were analyzed. Search for nuclear states was performed in inclusive and correlation measurements of missing mass spectra. A broad range of excitation energies studied in correlation measurements provided the possibility of search for isobaric analog states and cluster resonances. A comparison with experimental and theoretical results of other authors was conducted.  相似文献

A particle unstable state of 4H has been identified in the reaction π?+7Li4H+t, 4Ht by observing the two emitted tritons. A resonance energy EΓ=(2.7±0.6) MeV and a reduced width γ2=(2.3±0.6) MeV were deduced, in agreement with the parameters of the ground-state level (Jπ=2?) found in the p-wave of n-t-scattering. The yield per stopped pion is (5.6±1.8)×10?4. Previous measurements in pion absorption are in disagreement with our results.  相似文献

A search for the 10Li formation was performed in missing mass spectra measured in stopped pion absorption reactions 14C(π , pt)X and 14C(π , dd)X. Three excited states of 10Li were found. The broad state with a resonance energy of E R = 6.13 ± 0.11 MeV has the highest excitation energy in comparison with levels observed earlier.  相似文献

Review of the experimental results on the search for and the spectroscopy of the superheavy hydrogen isotopes 4–7H obtained in stopped π?-meson absorption by 9Be and 11Be nuclei is presented. Study of light neutron-rich nuclei is a principal line in developing modern views on the properties of nuclear forces and determination of nuclear properties near the drip line. The present method of investigation relies on precision measurements of energy of charged particles emitted after pion absorption by nuclei. Important advantages of this method are the practically accurate initial state energy and momentum, as well as the possibility to study a wide range of excitation energy. In the frames of this method new results were obtained on level structures of the isotopes 4–6H and indications on 7H production. Comparison with other experimental and theoretical results is performed.  相似文献

The origin of the 9Li isotope is sought in missing-mass spectra measured in 11B(π, d)X, 12C(π, pd)X, and 14C(π, dt)X stopped-pion absorption reactions. The parameters of the three observed low-lying excited states coincide with the literature data. A state with excitation energy E x = 9.1 ± 0.1 MeV, lying above the threshold of 9Li decay into 6He + t, is observed for the first time.  相似文献

We calculate energy spectra and angular distributions of single and correlated spectra after the absorption of stopped pions in nuclei. We assume: The pion is abosrbed by a pair of nucleons; these primary nucleons may leave the nucleus directly or only after one or more collisions with other nucleons. We propose a multiple scattering expansion for the intranuclear cascade after pion absorption. Various experimental data are successfully described in shape and absolute magnitude. The ratio Rnp = R(π?np → nn)/R (π? pp → np) is determined from the experimental proton spectra: Rnp = 13 ± 6.  相似文献

Rescattering corrections to radiative pion absorption in nuclei are considered. The rescattering process is known to make important contributions to the nuclear absorption of S orbit pions with two-nucleon ejection. We calculate the rescattering corrections both in perturbation theory and with an approach based on the actual pion-nucleus scattering length. For the detailed evaluation of nuclear matrix elements the particle-hole formalism is used, and it is assumed that odd-parity spin-isospin nuclear states are excited by the radiative absorption mechanism. The calculation shows that incoherent rescattering effects involving an excited nucleus in the intermediate state are of little importance. Retaining only the coherent rescattering, decreases are found in the transition rate of approximately 40% relative to the leading term for 16O. The relationship between our calculation and analyses based on the use of an optical potential is presented.  相似文献

The (π+, π?) reactions leading to the double isobaric analog state are studied at pion energies 50 to 300 MeV, with14C as an example. Effects of nuclear structure, nuclear recoil, the reaction pathway and off-shell πN interactions are examined in detail. Our study reveals a very strong dependence of calculated cross sections on off-shell πN dynamics. Consequently, use of a self-consistent off-shell πN theory is essential to studying short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations from double-charge-exchange data. The present study further shows that reaction dynamics other than two successive pion single charge exchanges is needed to account for the experimental data.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of the pion mass difference in scattering and photoproduction of pions on light nuclei near threshold. The effect is found to be most easily described in a nuclear K-matrix formalism where the nuclear K-matrix elements are shown to be independent of the mass difference.  相似文献

Experimental searches for the superheavy hydrogen isotope 7H were performed in reactions involving the absorption of stopped π ? mesons on 9Be and 11B nuclei. In the reaction 9Be(π ?, pp)X, the missing-mass spectrum shows evidence for the formation of 7H states, that of E r = 16 ± 1 MeV and Γ ? 2 MeV and that of E r = 21 ± 1 MeV and Γ ? 5 MeV (E r is the resonance energy with respect to breakup into a trition and four neutrons, and Γ is the observed level width).  相似文献

To describe pion absorption in nuclei, we introduce a model which assumes that incident pion is absorbed by the row of target nucleons along the beam direction. The momentum distribution of these nucleons after absorbing the pion is assumed to be determined by the phase space. In the framework of bound shell model we have calculated the photoproduction of charged pions on6Li when spin-isospin dipole resonance is excited. It is shown that the transition strength concentrates in several energy regions. Such a gross-structure of the excitation spectrum is governed by the configurational splitting of the resonance. The excitation spectrum in6Li(γ, τ)-reaction is compared with the6Li(τ, γ), (e, e′) and (n, p)-reaction spectra where spin-isospin transitions are dominating too.  相似文献

It is proposed to use the nuclear absorption of stopped antiprotons to study the interaction arising when several pions enter a nucleus simultaneously. A model is constructed for the incoherent multipion-nucleus interaction, when the annihilation pions interact with the nucleus independently of each other. Energy spectra and the multiplicities of secondary particles generated after the antiproton absorption are compared with the experimental data. Distributions of the number of pions interacting with the nucleus are calculated as well as the distributions of residual nuclei with excitation energy, momentum, angular momentum and isotope yield. It is shown that the effect of the excitation of high-spin isomers must be observed in the antiproton absorption. The example of the two-nucleon absorption of η- and ω-mesons is used to discuss the possibility of investigating interactions of pionic resonances with nuclei during the process of the annihilation of antiprotons.  相似文献

A classification is given of, and intra-relationships are derived between amplitudes which yield identical spin-summed differential cross sections and vector polarizations for one of the nucleons emitted in pion absorption on the diproton. To accomplish this, a formal correspondence is established between the amplitude for pion absorption on the diproton and the amplitude for pion nucleon elastic scattering, and the well-known Minami ambiguity for the latter is generalized.Paper dedicated to the memory of Michael Moravcsik, whose untimely death terminated a very useful exchange of ideas onamplitude ambiguities, a subject on which he had been a leading authority.
