We propose superfield equations in tensorial N-extended superspaces to describe the N=2,4,8 supersymmetric generalizations of free conformal higher spin theories. These can be obtained by quantizing a superparticle model in N-extended tensorial superspace. The N-extended higher spin supermultiplets just contain scalar and ‘spinor’ fields in tensorial space so that, in contrast with the standard (super)space approach, no nontrivial generalizations of the Maxwell or Einstein equations to tensorial space appear when N>2. For N=4,8, the higher spin-tensorial components of the extended tensorial superfields are expressed through additional scalar and spinor fields in tensorial space which obey the same free higher spin equations, but that are axion-like in the sense that they possess Peccei-Quinn-like symmetries.  相似文献

We develop a covariant kinetic theory for massive fermions in a curved spacetime and an external electromagnetic field based on quantum field theory. We derive four coupled semi-classical kinetic equations accurate to begin{document}$O(hbar)$end{document}, which describe the transports of particle number and spin degrees of freedom. The relationship with chiral kinetic theory is discussed. As an application, we study spin polarization in the presence of finite Riemann curvature and an electromagnetic field in both local and global equilibrium states.  相似文献

An investigation of the electronic spin-generation in gallium arsenide is performed using the perturbation theory of the spin transport model in the long wavelength limit, where electron–electron and electron–phonon interactions are ignored. The spin polarizations of the conduction-band-electrons in dependences of the excited one- and two-photon energies are estimated. For both cases, the spin-polarization is found to depolarize for excitation energies equal to or larger than the energy gap of the split-off band to the conduction band. The results, however, show that an enhancement of the spin-polarization is achieved by multiphoton excitation of the bulk semiconductors. The calculated results are compared with those obtained in recent experiments. A good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained.  相似文献

We analyze the constraints on the general form and the singularity structure of the correlation functions of the symmetric, traceless and conserved stress-energy tensor implied by conformal invariance and higher spin symmetry in four dimensions. In particular, we show that all these correlation functions will have at most double pole singularities. We then compute the 4-, 5- and 6-point functions of the stress-energy tensor and find that they are linear combinations of the three free field expressions (scalar, fermion and Maxwell field). This is a strong indication that all such theories are essentially free.  相似文献

A higher spin field theory on AdS(4) possesses a conformal theory on the boundary R(3) which can be identified with the critical O(N) sigma model of O(N) invariant fields only. The notions of quasiprimary and secondary fields can be carried over to the AdS theory. If de Donder’s gauge is applied, the traceless part of the higher spin field on AdS(4) is quasiprimary and the Goldstone fields are quasiprimary fields to leading order too. Those fields corresponding to the Goldstone fields in the critical O(N) sigma model are odd-rank symmetric tensor currents which vanish in the free-field limit. In this work we develop the BRST approach to Lagrangian construction for the massive integer higher spin fields in an arbitrary dimensional AdS space. The theory is formulated in terms of auxiliary Fock space. Closed nonlinear symmetry algebra of higher spin bosonic theory in AdS space is found and a method of deriving the BRST operator for such an algebra is proposed. A general procedure of Lagrangian construction, describing the dynamics of a bosonic field with any spin is given on the base of the BRST operator. No off-shell constraints on the fields and the gauge parameters are used from the very beginning. As an example of general procedure, we derive the Lagrangians for massive bosonic fields with spin 0, 1 and 2, containing the total set of auxiliary fields and gauge symmetries.  相似文献

We consider the one dimensional, periodic spin chain with N sites, similar to the one studied by Haldane [1], however in the opposite limit of very large anisotropy and small nearest neighbour, anti-ferromagnetic exchange coupling between the spins, which are of large magnitude s. For a chain with an even number of sites we show that actually the ground state is non-degenerate and given by a superposition of the two Neél states, due to quantum spin tunnelling. With an odd number of sites, the Neél state must necessarily contain a soliton. The position of the soliton is arbitrary thus the ground state is N-fold degenerate. This set of states reorganizes into a band. We show that this occurs at order 2s in perturbation theory. The ground state is non-degenerate for integer spin, but degenerate for half-odd integer spin as is required by Kramers' theorem [18].  相似文献

It is proved that the free energy of a system ofn-dimensional spins with Kac type potential is equal, in the infinite range zero strength limit, to the free energy of the corresponding Curie-Weiss system in which every spin interacts equally with every other spin.  相似文献

Tensor and vector equations of motion of a classical charged particle with spin have been derived within the framework of the special theory of relativity on the basis of Frenkel's tensor. The anomalous magnetic moment of the particle is considered in a natural manner in deriving the equations. The expression for the forces acting on the particle is constructed with consideration of the effect of spin on the motion trajectory. The spin equations proved to coincide with those obtained previously by Nyborg and Good. The properties of these equations have been studied, and it has been shown that the various equations are in fact variant forms of one and the same equation. In the absence of an anomalous magnetic moment the tensor equation coincides with Frenkel's spin equation, and in the same situation the vector equation transforms to the equation obtained by Tamm. In the special case of homogeneous fields the vector equation coincides with the well-known Bargmann-Michel-Telegdi equation. In conclusion we present spin motion equations for a particle with electric and magnetic charges.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 2, pp. 67–76, February, 1980.  相似文献

We consider a finite-range spin glass model in arbitrary dimension, where the strength of the two-body coupling decays to zero over some distance gamma(-1). We show that, under mild assumptions on the interaction potential, the infinite-volume free energy of the system converges to that of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick one, in the Kac limit gamma-->0. This could be a first step toward an expansion around mean-field theory, for spin glass systems.  相似文献
