Nonlinear light transformations were observed in a nitrogen-doped silica fiber pumped with a Nd:YAG laser (lambda=1.06 microm) . Light generation in the spectral range 355-430nm was obtained with an efficiency of up to 2x10(-4) . The UV light was found to be the result of third-harmonic generation, stimulated Raman scattering of the third harmonic, and third-harmonic generation from the Stokes components of the pump light. Lasing based on the color centers of nitrogen-doped silica was observed in the range 380-430nm. 相似文献

A type of multi-core Er-doped photosensitive silica optical fiber (MC-EDPF) is proposed and fabricated, in which a high consistency Er-doped core is surrounded by six high consistency Ge-doped cores. The multi-core design can overcome the difficulties encountered in the design and fabrication of single-core EDPFs through a modified chemical vapor deposition method combined with solution doping technology, and there is a conflict between high consistency Er doping and high consistency Ce doping. The absorption of MC-EDPFs achieved 15.876dB/m at 1550mm and lOdB/m at 98Ohm. The refleetivity of the fiber Bragg gratings (FBCs) written directly on the MC-EDPFs is as much as 96.84%. 相似文献

A new type of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) based on an Er-Tm-codoped silica fiber is reported. When the fiber was pumped at 980 nm, the emission yielded a 3-dB bandwidth over 90 nm (1460-1550 nm) without any external filters, which is twice larger than that produced by conventional Er-doped fiber ASE sources. We believe that the superposition of two ASE bands, one from Er ions near 1530 nm and the other from Tm ions near 1450 nm, results in the broad bandwidth. Temperature-dependent ASE powers and fiber-length-dependent spectra strongly suggest that photon-assisted energy transfer between the sensitizing ion, Er, and the acceptor ion, Tm, plays an important role in changes in the bandwidth's size. 相似文献

The results of the recent major efforts in power scaling of resonantly cladding-pumped Yb-free Er fiber lasers are presented. Commercially available Yb-free Er-doped large mode area Er60-20/125 (LMA) DC fibers were tested in two regimes: (i), as a booster amplifier in a single-frequency (SF) MOPA configuration and, (ii), in a Bragg grating (FBG) based narrowband fiber laser configuration. We obtained ~28.5 W of output power at 1590 nm, the highest power reported so far out of Yb-free Er-doped LMA fiber with resonant cladding pumping. The achieved optical-to-optical conversion slope efficiency of ~56.6% is also believed to be the highest efficiency ever reported from Yb-free Er-doped fiber laser with resonant cladding pumping. 相似文献

Theoretical analysis of the transient two-wave mixing (TWM) of two continuous waves with rectangular phase modulation counter-propagating through the Er-doped optical fiber is presented. Approximate analytic solutions obtained for undepleted interacting waves of low power (neglecting large-scale saturation of the fiber optical absorption) and of high power (with significant spatially uniform large-scale absorption saturation) are complemented by numerical simulation for a broad region of the recording light power. The experimental dependence of the TWM efficiency on the recording power obtained for a single-mode fiber with ?640 ppm erbium concentration and with initial optical density ≈8.4 at λ = 1526 nm demonstrated the initial, growing and decaying parts predicted theoretically. The maximum experimentally observed relative TWM signal amplitude proved to be approximately 3 times lower than expected. 相似文献

提出了一种新型的由熔石英棒和石英光纤组成的复合型相位共轭镜,其可运用于高重复频率激光输入系统中以改善光束质量.该复合相位共轭镜具有较高的受激布里渊散射反射率和受激布里渊散射损伤阈值以及较低的受激布里渊散射阈值等优点.实验中,在100 Hz重复频率下,最大获得了42.05%的受激布里渊散射反射率.根据实验条件,由耦合波方程及边界条件得到的物理模型,经数值求解后得到的结果和实验符合较好.且由理论结果提出了一种提高该复合型相位共轭镜工作状态的有效方法.

Generation of a compact high-power high-efficiency normal-dispersion pumping supercontinuum in silica photonic crystal fiber pumped with a 1064-nm picosecond pulse 下载免费PDF全文
Broadband normal dispersion pumping supercontinuum (SC) generation in silica photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is investigated in this paper. A 1064-nm picosecond fiber laser is used to pump silica PCF for the SC generation. The length of PCF is optimized for the most efficient stimulated Raman scattering process in the picosecond pump pulse region. The first stimulated Raman Stokes peak is located in the anomalous dispersion regime of the PCF and near the zero dispersion wavelength; thus the SC generation process can benefit from both a normal dispersion pumping scheme and an anomalous dispersion pumping scheme. The 51.7-W SC spanning from about 700 nm to beyond 1700 nm is generated with an all-fiber configuration, and the pump-to-SC conversion efficiency is up to 90%. In order to avoid the output fiber end face damage and increase the stability of the system, an improved output solution for the high power SC is proposed in our experiment. This high-efficiency near-infrared SC source is very suitable for applications in which average output power and spectral power density are firstly desirable. 相似文献
