The broadband enhancement of single‑photon emission from nitrogen‐vacancy centers in nanodiamonds coupled to a planar multilayer metamaterial with hyperbolic dispersion is studied experimentally. The metamaterial is fabricated as an epitaxial metal/dielectric superlattice consisting of CMOS‐compatible ceramics: titanium nitride (TiN) and aluminum scandium nitride (AlxSc1‐xN). It is demonstrated that employing the metamaterial results in significant enhancement of collected single‑photon emission and reduction of the excited‐state lifetime. Our results could have an impact on future CMOS‐compatible integrated quantum sources.

An overview of the main aspects of ICAME2011 – tutorial lectures, oral and poster presentations, evening sessions - is presented along with a brief outline of several of the scientific highlights. Among other topics considered are the involvements of young scientists and female scientists, and operation of the oral and poster sessions. Despite the most challenging combinations of circumstances in the lead up to ICAME2011 that resulted in the change of venue at an advanced stage from Tokyo to Kobe, the Committee organised a high quality conference with many positive outcomes for the future. The CARPET cosmic ray detector was installed in 2006 in the Argentinean Andes at an altitude of 2550 m at the El Leoncito Astronomical Complex (CASLEO) in San Juan, Argentina (S31.8, W69.3; R c = 9.659.65 GV). This instrument was developed at the Lebedev Physical Institute (LPI) in Russia as part of an international collaboration between the LPI, Brazil’s Mackenzie Center for Radioastronomy and Astrophysics (CRAAM), and the CASLEO. This work presents the results from analyzing variations in cosmic ray intensity recorded by the CARPET facility during the solar proton event of March 7, 2011. Also used in our analysis were the experimental data obtained by the GOES, FERMI, and ISS spacecraft during this solar event.  相似文献

The main morphological features of variations of the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere before the earthquakes on March 11, 2011 (Japan) and October 23, 2011 (Turkey) are examined. The revealed features are compared to those of ionospheric TEC disturbances observed prior to several other large seismic events, as well as to those included in a list of the most frequently observed ionospheric TEC disturbances interpreted as possible ionospheric precursors of earthquakes. It is shown that, in the periods of preparation of the earthquakes under consideration, on March 8–11 and October 20–23, abnormal ionospheric TEC disturbances were observed as long-lived structures in a near-epicentral region and in the region magnetically conjugated to it.  相似文献

Two-dimensional distributions of the vertical total electron content in the ionosphere above the Japan under-sea mega-earthquake on March 11, 2011 are reconstructed using high-temporal-resolution (2-min) data from the Japan GPS network. A diverging ionospheric perturbation with multicomponent spectral composition is identified emerging after the main shock. The disturbances in the ionospheric electron concentration caused by acoustic gravity waves generated by the earthquake-related processes. The initial phase of this disturbance can be used as a marker in the tsunami early warning systems. The surface energy of the earthquake estimated from the amplitude of the ionospheric disturbance is close to the estimate based on the seismic data. Other disturbances (ionospheric responses to the Rayleigh and tsunami waves, a solitary ionospheric pulse) are also analyzed. Physical interpretation of the identified ionospheric disturbances is presented.  相似文献
