The simple fullerene diols C(60)(OH)(2) and C(70)(OH)(2) were prepared by addition of RuO(4) followed by acid hydrolysis. The 1,2-C(60)(OH)(2) isomer was formed from C(60), and two isomers (1,2 and 5,6) of C(70)(OH)(2) were formed in the RuO(4) hydroxylation of C(70). These compounds are much more soluble in THF and dioxane than the parent fullerenes. More highly hydroxylated materials are formed as well.  相似文献

The addition of the strongly pi-bonding ligands CO or tert-butyl isocyanide to the low-spin five-coordinate iron(II) nitrite species [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)]- (TpivPP = picket fence porphyrin) gives two new six-coordinate species [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)]- and [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(t-BuNC)]-. These species have been characterized by single-crystal structure determinations and by UV-vis, IR, and M?ssbauer spectroscopies. All evidence shows that in the mixed-ligand iron(II) porphyrin species, [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)]-, the two trans, pi-accepting ligands CO and nitrite compete for pi density. The CO ligand however dominates the bonding. The Fe-N(NO2) bond lengths for the two independent anions in the unit cell at 2.006(4) and 2.009(4) A are lengthened compared to other nitrite species with either no trans ligands or non-pi-accepting trans ligands to nitrite. The Fe-C(CO) bond lengths are 1.782(4) A and 1.789(5) A for the two anions. The two Fe-C-O angles at 175.5(4) and 177.5(4) degrees are essentially linear in both anions. The quadrupole splitting for [Fe(TpivPP)(NO2)(CO)]- was determined to be 0.32 mm/s, and the isomer shift was 0.18 mm/s at room temperature in zero applied field. Both of the M?ssbauer parameters are much smaller than those found for six-coordinate low-spin iron(II) porphyrinates with neutral nitrogen-donating ligands as well as iron(II) nitro complexes. However, the M?ssbauer parameters are typical of other six-coordinate CO porphyrinates signifying that CO is the more dominant ligand. The CO stretching frequency of 1974 cm(-1) is shifted only slightly to higher energy compared to six-coordinate CO complexes with neutral nitrogen-donor ligands trans to CO. Oxidative addition of the sulfur-sulfur bond of 2,2'-pyridine disulfide (C(5)H(4)NS-SC(5)H(4)N) with L(3)W(CO)(3) [L = pyridine, (1)/(3)CHPT; CHPT = cycloheptatriene] in methylene chloride solution yields the seven-coordinate W(II) thiolate complex W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(CO)(3) (mp = monoanion of 2-mercaptopyridine). This complex undergoes slow further oxidative addition with additional pyridine disulfide, yielding W(eta(2)- mp)(4). Reaction of W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(CO)(3) with NO results in quantitative formation of the six-coordinate W(0) complex W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(NO)(2). Reaction of W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(CO)(3) with NO in the presence of added pyridine disulfide yields the seven-coordinate W(II) nitrosyl complex W(eta(2)-mp)(3)(NO) as well as W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(NO)(2) and trace amounts of W(eta(2)-mp)(4). The complex W(eta(2)-mp)(3)(NO) is formed during the course of the reaction and not by reaction of W(eta(2)-mp)(4) or W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(NO)(2) with NO under these conditions. The crystal structures of W(eta(2)- mp)(2)(CO)(3), W(eta(2)-mp)(2)(NO)(2), and W(eta(2)-mp)(3)(NO) are reported.  相似文献

The iron dithiolene compounds [Fe2(mnt)4]2− [1]2− and [Fe(NO)(mnt)2]n (n = 1−, [2]1−; n = 2−, [2]2−) ([mnt]2− = maleonitriledithiolate = [(NC)2C2S2]2−) have been characterized structurally by X-ray diffraction as their [Et4N]+ salts at 100 K. Dianion [2]2− is prepared from [2]1− by reduction with Na[Et3BH] and is observed to have a bent Fe-NO angle at 149.9(5)° in contrast to the linear configuration of Fe-NO in [2]1− (180.0°). The change from linear to bent binding mode for NO, an increase of more than 0.1 Å in the Fe-N bond length, and the relative invariance of the Fe-S distances for [2]2− versus [2]1− indicate that the NO ligand is the site of reduction. The [Et3NH]+ complex of [2]1− was also identified by crystallography and found to have hydrogen bonding contacts between [Et3NH]+ and the cyano nitrogen atom of an [mnt]2− ligand. Furthermore, relatively close S?S contacts (3.602-3.615 Å) occur between [2]1− anions, which pack together in an offset, head-to-head fashion. These S?S contacts are absent in the structure of [Et4N][2]. Infrared spectra show an energy decrease for, and a significant broadening of, the NO bond stretching absorption peak in [2]2−, which is consistent with a bent NO ligand sampling a range of conformations both by facile pivoting about the Fe-N axis and by a breathing of the Fe-NO angle.  相似文献

Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and UO(2)(II) complexes with the ligand 2-tert-butylaminomethylpyridine-6-carboxylic acid methylester (HL(2)) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment, thermal analysis and spectral data. 1:1 M:HL(2) complexes, with the general formula [M(HL(2))X(2)].nH(2)O (where M = Co(II) (X = Cl, n = 0), Ni(II) (X = Cl, n = 3), Cu(II) (grey colour, X = AcO, n = 1), Cu(II) (yellow colour, X = Cl, n = 0) and Zn(II) (X = Br, n = 0). In addition, the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes of the type 1:2 M:HL(2) and with the formulae [Fe(L(2))(2)]Cl and [UO(2)(HL(2))(2)](NO(3))(2) are prepared. From the IR data, it is seen that HL(2) ligand behaves as a terdentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridyl N, carboxylate O and protonated NH group; except the Fe(III) complex, it coordinates via the deprotonated NH group. This is supported by the molar conductance data, which show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes, while the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes. IR and H1-NMR spectral studies suggest a similar behaviour of the Zn(II) complex in solid and solution states. From the solid reflectance spectral data and magnetic moment measurements, the complexes have a trigonal bipyramidal (Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes) and octahedral (Fe(III), UO(2)(II) complexes) geometrical structures. The thermal behaviour of the complexes is studied and the different dynamic parameters are calculated applying Coats-Redfern equation.  相似文献

The compounds Co(OC2OPor).CH2Cl2 (1), Co(OC2OPor)(NO)out.0.46CHCl3 (2), Co(OC3OPor).CHCl3 (3), and Co(OC3OPor)(MeIm).3C7H8 (4) (OC2OPor = 5,10,15,20-(benzene-1,2,4,5- tetrakis(2-phenyloxy)ethoxy)-2',2",2"',2"-tetraylporphyrinato dianion; OC3OPor = 5,10,15,20-(benzene-1,2,4,5-tetrakis(2- phenyloxy)propoxy)-2',2",2"',2"-tetraylporphyrinato dianion; MeIm = 1-methylimidazole), have been synthesized, and their structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods at T = -120 degrees C: 1, a = 8.824(1) A, b = 16.674(1) A, c = 16.836(1) A, alpha = 104.453(1) degrees, beta = 92.752(1) degrees, gamma = 90.983(1) degrees, P1, Z = 2; 2, a = 9.019(1) A, b = 16.588(2) A, c = 16.909(2) A, alpha = 103.923(2) degrees, beta = 92.082(2) degrees, gamma = 93.583(2) degrees, P1, Z = 2; 3, a = 13.484(3) A, b = 14.404(3) A, c = 14.570(3) A, alpha = 105.508(3) degrees, beta = 100.678(3) degrees, gamma = 93.509(4) degrees, P1, Z = 2; 4, a = 16.490(1) A, b = 22.324(2) A, c = 17.257(1) A, b = 92.437(1) degrees, P2(1)/n, Z = 4. These compounds are the first structurally characterized Co-bound members of the OCnOPor ligand system. The NO ligand in 2 and the MeIm ligand in 4 bind asymmetrically and lead to several metrical changes in these porphyrins, e.g., variations in average porphyrin deviations and Co atom displacements relative to the porphyrinato N atoms and the mean porphyrin planes.  相似文献

Late-first row transition metal nitrate complexes of the tetradentate N-donor ligand cis-3,5-bis[(2-pyridinyleneamino]-trans-hydroxycyclohexane (DDOP) adopt a mono-cationic [M(DDOP)(H(2)O)(NO(3))](+) structure (M = Co, 1; Cu, 2; Zn, 3) in which the DDOP ligand occupies the equatorial plane. The complexes are essentially isostructural and isomorphous, allowing the Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes to co-crystallize in mixed-metal solid solutions with the formula [Co(x)Cu(1-x)(DDOP)(NO(3))(H(2)O)](NO(3)), where x = 0.4 (4), 0.1 (5), and 0.7 (6). For 4, structural and magnetochemical analysis indicate that the geometry of the octahedral Co(II) complex distorts to match that of the dominant Jahn-Teller distorted Cu(II) center. Magnetic susceptibility data of octahedral Co(II) are sensitive to ligand geometry distortions and have been analyzed accordingly, comparing 4 to the reference systems 1 and 2. Bond valence calculations have been used to estimate the relative stabilities of the six hydrogen bonded networks, suggesting that the stretching of the Co(II) coordination sphere 4 in is assisted by adoption of the most stable hydrogen bonded network; but that in 6 this is overcome by a higher loading of Co. This family of complexes therefore represent predictable metal-based tectons which can help probe the influence of secondary non-covalent interactions over metal coordination geometries and properties.  相似文献

Reductive carbonylation of TaCl(5) in the presence of 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (dppe) under the appropriate conditions results in the formation of TaCl(CO)(2)(dppe)(2) (1), as the major product, and the possibly cyclic oligomer [TaCl(CO)(2)(dppe)(2)](2)(x)() (2, 2x >/= 4) as a minor product. Carbonylation of 1 (1 atm) results in the rapid but reversible formation of TaCl(CO)(4)(dppe) (3). Solutions of all three compounds exhibit low levels of paramagnetism, possibly attributable to thermal population of low-lying triplet excited states. The preparation and characterization of the five-coordinate iron(II) porphyrinate derivative [Fe(TpivPP)(NO3)]- (TpivPP = picket-fence porphyrin) is described. Structural and magnetic susceptibility data support a high-spin state (S = 2) assignment for this species. The anionic axial nitrate ligand is O-bound, through a single O atom, with an Fe-O bond length of 2.069(4) A. The planar nitrate ligand bisects a N(p)-Fe-N(p) angle. The average Fe-N(p) bond length is 2.070(16) A. The Fe atom is located 0.49 A out of the 24-atom mean porphyrin plane toward the nitrate ligand. From solid-state M?ssbauer data, the isomer shift of 0.98 mm/s at 77 K is entirely consistent with high-spin iron(II). However the quadrupole splitting of 3.59 mm/s at 77 K is unusually high for iron(II), S = 2 systems but within the range of other five-coordinate high-spin ferrous complexes with a single anionic axial ligand. Zinc(II) and tin(II) derivatives of maltol (Hmalt), ethylmaltol (HEtmalt), tropolone (Htrop), hinokitiol (Hhino), and kojic acid (Hkoj) have been prepared and characterized, and the crystal structures of M(trop)(2) (M = Zn, Sn), Zn(hino)(2).EtOH, and Sn(malt)(2) have been determined. The Zn(trop)(2) is a polymeric structure in which tropolone has both a bridging and chelating role; zinc(hino)(2) crystallizes as an ethanol adduct of which the structure is a dimeric fragment of the Zn(trop)(2) polymer and in which each metal is "capped" by a molecule of alcohol. The tin complexes are notably air-stable despite adopting monomeric pseudo-trigonal-bipyramidal structures (SnO(4)E; E is a stereochemically active lone electron pair) in which the ligands only chelate a single metal center.  相似文献

SO(2) solutions of azide anions are bright yellow, and their Raman spectra indicate the presence of covalently bound azide. Removal of the solvent at -64 degrees C from CsN(3) or N(CH(3))(4)N(3) solutions produces yellow (SO(2))(2)N(3)(-) salts. Above -64 degrees C, these salts lose 1 mol of SO(2), resulting in white SO(2)N(3)(-) salts that are marginally stable at room temperature and thermally decompose to the corresponding azides and SO(2). These anions were characterized by vibrational and (14)N NMR spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. Slow loss of the solvent by diffusion through the walls of a sealed Teflon tube containing a sample of CsSO(2)N(3) in SO(2) resulted in white and yellowish single crystals that were identified by X-ray diffraction as CsSO(2)N(3).CsSO(3)N(3) with a = 9.542(2) A, b = 6.2189(14) A, c = 10.342(2) A, and beta = 114.958(4) degrees in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/m, Z = 2, and Cs(2)S(2)O(5).Cs(2)S(2)O(7).SO(2), respectively. Pure CsSO(3)N(3) was also prepared and characterized by vibrational spectroscopy. The S-N bond in SO(2)N(3)(-) is much weaker than that in SO(3)N(3)(-), resulting in decreased thermal stability, an increase in the S-N bond distance by 0.23 A, and an increased tendency to undergo rotational disorder. This marked difference is due to SO(3) being a much stronger Lewis acid (pF(-) value of 7.83) than SO(2) (pF(-) value of 3.99), thus forming a stronger S-N bond with the Lewis base N(3)(-). The geometry of the free gaseous SO(2)N(3)(-) anion was calculated at the RHF, MP2, B3LYP, and CCSD(T) levels. The results show that only the correlated methods correctly reproduce the experimentally observed orientation of the SO(2) group.  相似文献

Surface complex formation of K(+), NO(3)(-), SO(4)(2-), Ca(2+), F(-), Co(2+), and Cr(3+) ions was determined on the surface of silica gel. Experimental data obtained by acid-base titration of suspensions were interpreted in terms of the triple-layer model. The value of the deprotonation constant of surface OH could be determined precisely but the protonation constant was rather uncertain. The logarithms of ion pair formation constants for K(+), NO(3)(-), Ca(2+), and SO(4)(2-) adsorbed in the beta-plane are log K(ipM,X) approximately 0, therefore these species can be considered inert ions in the investigated pH range. F(-), Co(2+), and Cr(3+) ions were found to be strongly sorbed in the o-plane. In order to provide a good fit and to obtain parameters independent of their initial values, all possible equilibrium must be accounted for in the models. Copyright 2001 Academic Press.  相似文献

Condensation of cyanometalates and cluster building blocks leads to the formation of hybrid molecular cyanometalate cages. Specifically, the reaction of [Cs subset [CpCo(CN)(3)](4)[CpRu](3)] and [(cymene)(2)Ru(3)S(2)(NCMe)(3)]PF(6) produced [Cs subset [CpCo(CN)(3)](4)[(cymene)(2)Ru(3)S(2)][CpRu](3)](PF(6))(2), Cs subset Co(4)Ru(6)S(2)(2+). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction, NMR spectroscopy, and ESI-MS measurements show that Cs subset Co(4)Ru(6)S(2)(2+ ) consists of a Ru(4)Co(4)(CN)(12) box fused with a Ru(3)S(2) cluster via a common Ru atom. The reaction of PPN[CpCo(CN)(3)] and 0.75 equiv of [(cymene)(2)(MeCN)(3)Ru(3)S(2)](PF(6))(2) in MeCN solution produced [[CpCo(CN)(3)](4)[(cymene)(2)Ru(3)S(2)](3)](PF(6))(2), Co(4)Ru(9)S(6)(2+). Crystallographic analysis, together with NMR and ESI-MS measurements, shows that Co(4)Ru(9)S(6)(2+ ) consists of a Ru(3)Co(4)(CN)(9) "defect box" core, wherein each Ru is fused to a Ru(3)S(2) clusters. The analogous condensation using [CpRh(CN)(3)](-) in place of [CpCo(CN)(3)](-) produced the related cluster-cage Rh(4)Ru(9)S(6)(2+). Electrochemical analyses of both Co(4)Ru(9)S(6)(2+) and Rh(4)Ru(9)S(6)(2+) can be rationalized in the context of reduction at the cluster and the Co(III) subunits, the latter being affected by the presence of alkali metal cations.  相似文献

Gold is noble, but excited gold is reactive. Reactions of laser-ablated copper, silver, and gold with H(2) in excess argon, neon, and pure hydrogen during condensation at 3.5 K give the MH molecules and the (H(2))MH complexes as major products and the MH(2)(-) and AuH(4)(-) anions as minor products. These new molecular anions are identified from matrix infrared spectra with isotopic substitution (HD, D(2), and H(2) + D(2)) and comparison to frequencies calculated by density functional theory. The stable linear MH(2)(-) anions are unique in that their corresponding neutral MH(2) molecules are higher in energy than M + H(2) and thus unstable to M + H(2) decomposition. Infrared spectra are observed for the bending modes of AuH(2), AuHD, and AuD(2) in solid H(2), HD, and D(2), respectively. The observation of square-planar AuH(4)(-) attests the stability of the higher Au(III) oxidation state for gold. The synthesis of CuH(2)(-) in solid compounds has potential for use in hydrogen storage.  相似文献

The kinetics of the oxidation of beta-Re(2)X(4)(cis-1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylene)(2) (X = Cl, Br) by the cobalt clathrochelate [Co(dimethylglyoximate)(3)(BF)(2)]BF(4) and the oxidation of Re(2)Br(4)(PMe(2)Ph)(4) by the cobalt clathrochelate [Co(1,2-cyclohexanedione dioximate)(3)(BBu)(2)]BF(4) have been studied by the stopped-flow method as a function of temperature (-85 to -19 degrees C), added Bu(4)NBF(4) (0-0.100 M), and reactant concentration in the low dielectric solvent methylene chloride. For each reaction, approximately 100 different conditions were studied. The observed rate constants were well fit by a mechanism involving separate paths for free ion and the ion-paired Co(III) oxidant. The analysis yielded values for DeltaH() and DeltaS() for each path of each reaction and consistent DeltaH degrees and DeltaS degrees values for the ion-pairing of the cationic reactant and the electrolyte. In addition, temperature-dependent electrochemical measurements in 0.10 M Bu(4)NBF(4) yielded DeltaH degrees and DeltaS degrees for the electron transfer process. This is the first measurement of the homogeneous electron transfer reactivity of the dirhenium complexes, and they showed the expected high reactivity. The most notable result is a very high inhibition (ca. 700-fold) by added salt of only the [Co(dmg)(3)(BF)(2)]BF(4) reactions. We attribute this to a change of rate-controlling step, for the ion-paired path, to one involving anion migration. This appears only to occur when the magnitude of ion-pairing free energy is significantly greater than the magnitude of the free energy change for the electron transfer process.  相似文献

M(2)(O(t)Bu)(6) compounds (M = Mo, W) react in hydrocarbon solvents with an excess of (t)BuSH to give M(2)(O(t)Bu)(2)(S(t)Bu)(4), red, air- and temperature-sensitive compounds. (1)H NMR studies reveal the equilibrium M(2)(O(t)Bu)(6) + 4(t)BuSH <==> M(2)(O(t)Bu)(2)(S(t)Bu)(4) + 4(t)BuOH proceeds to the right slowly at 22 degrees C. The intermediates M(2)(O(t)Bu)(4)(S(t)Bu)(2), M(2)(O(t)Bu)(3)(S(t)Bu)(3), and M(2)(O(t)Bu)(5)(S(t)Bu) have been detected. The equilibrium constants show the M-O(t)Bu bonds to be enthalpically favored over the M-S(t)Bu bonds. In contrast to the M(2)(O(t)Bu)(6) compounds, M(2)(O(t)Bu)(2)(S(t)Bu)(4) compounds are inert with respect to the addition of CO, CO(2), ethyne, (t)BuC triple bond CH, MeC triple bond N, and PhC triple bond N. Addition of an excess of (t)BuSH to a hydrocarbon solution of W(2)(O(t)Bu)(6)(mu-CO) leads to the rapid expulsion of CO and subsequent formation of W(2)(O(t)Bu)(2)(S(t)Bu)(4). Addition of an excess of (t)BuSH to hydrocarbon solutions of [Mo(O(t)Bu)(3)(NO)](2) and W(O(t)Bu)(3)(NO)(py) gives the structurally related compounds [Mo(S(t)Bu)(3)(NO)](2) and W(S(t)Bu)(3)(NO)(py), with linear M-N-O moieties and five-coordinate metal atoms. The values of nu(NO) are higher in the related thiolate compounds than in their alkoxide counterparts. The bonding in the model compounds M(2)(EH)(6), M(2)(OH)(2)(EH)(4), (HE)(3)M triple bond CMe, and W(EH)(3)(NO)(NH(3)) and the fragments M(EH)(3), where M = Mo or W and E = O or S, has been examined by DFT B3LYP calculations employing various basis sets including polarization functions for O and S and two different core potentials, LANL2 and relativistic CEP. BLYP calculations were done with ZORA relativistic terms using ADF 2000. The calculations, irrespective of the method used, indicate that the M-O bonds are more ionic than the M-S bonds and that E ppi to M dpi bonding is more important for E = O. The latter raises the M-M pi orbital energies by ca. 1 eV for M(2)(OH)(6) relative to M(2)(SH)(6). For M(EH)(3) fragments, the metal d(xz)(),d(yz)() orbitals are destabilized by OH ppi bonding, and in W(EH)(3)(NO)(NH(3)) the O ppi to M dpi donation enhances W dpi to NO pi* back-bonding. Estimates of the bond strengths for the M triple bond M in M(2)(EH)(6) compounds and M triple bond C in (EH)(3)M triple bond CMe have been obtained. The stronger pi donation of the alkoxide ligands is proposed to enhance back-bonding to the pi* orbitals of alkynes and nitriles and facilitate their reductive cleavage, a reaction that is not observed for their thiolate counterpart.  相似文献
