It is shown by magnetometry and microSR spectroscopy that short-range magnetic interactions between the Mn cations in the nonmetallic K(2)NiF(4)-like phase La(0.8)Sr(1.2)Mn(0.6)Rh(0.4)O(4) become significant below approximately 200 K. Negative magnetoresistance (rho/rho(0) approximately 0.5 in 14 T at 108 K) is apparent below this temperature. Neutron diffraction has shown that an applied magnetic field of 5 T is sufficient to induce saturated (3.38(7)mu(B) per Mn) long-range ferromagnetic ordering of the atomic moments at 2 K, and that the induced ordering persists up to a temperature of 50 K in 5 T. Spin glass behavior is observed below 20 K in the absence of an applied field. The induced magnetic ordering is attributed to the subtle changes in band structure brought about by the external field, and to the controlling influence of Rh(3+) over the relative strength of competing magnetic exchange interactions.  相似文献

Benzyltriphenylphosphonium trans-tetrachloro(methanol)oxomolybdate(V) has been obtained from methanol suspension of benzyltriphenylphosphonium molybdate(VI) saturated with hydrogen chloride. The crystal structure comprises discrete trans-tetrachloro(methanol)oxomolybdate(V) anions and benzyltriphenylphosphonium cations. The anion has distorted octahedral geometry of central atom with visible trans influence imposed by short Mo-O bond (1.659(2) Å). The methanol O atom is bonded to the Mo atom, the bond being mostly electrostatic in character. A comparison with previously reported structures indicates that the methanol methyl moiety can switch between different positions with respect to the chloride ligands.  相似文献

A new series of anhydrous mixed alkali-metal borophosphates-Li(2) Cs(2) B(2) P(4) O(15) (1), LiK(2) BP(2) O(8) (2), Li(3) K(2) BP(4) O(14) (3), and Li(3) Rb(2) BP(4) O(14) (4)-have been successfully synthesized by using the conventional solid-state reaction method. Compound 1 contains a novel fundamental building unit (FBU), [B(4) P(8) O(30) ], with B/P=1:2. Compound 2 contains an FBU of [B(2) P(4) O(16) ] with B/P=1:2. Compounds 3 and 4 are isotypic, and they have a [B(P(2) O(7) )(2) ] unit as their FBU. In all four compounds, their FBUs are connected through corner sharing to generate layered anionic partial structures, and then further linked with metallic polyhedra to form three-dimensional (3D) frameworks. Most interestingly, three of the four compounds contain direct P-O-P connections in their structures, which is extremely rare among borophosphates. Thermal analyses, IR spectroscopy, and UV/Vis/near-IR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy have also been performed on the four title compounds.  相似文献

The effect of partial substitution, up to x = 0.4, of La by trivalent Eu on the phase stability, thermal expansion, and transport properties of La2Mo2O9 are investigated using temperature-controlled X-ray powder diffraction, differential thermal analysis, and complex impedance spectroscopy. At low europium content (x < or = 0.1), the alpha-beta phase transition is observed at a temperature dependent on the sample shaping (powder, pellet, etc.). At high europium content (x > or = 0.25), the samples remain cubic (beta phase), regardless of the shaping. In the intermediate range of europium content (x = 0.15, 0.2), the phase stability is highly sensitive to the thermal history and the sample shaping, with a double-reversed beta-alpha-beta transition suppressed by the shaping/sintering process. The influence of the amount of europium on the transport mechanisms and parameters is studied in both low- (Arrhenius) and high-temperature (Vogel-Tammann-Fulcher = VTF) regimes. If the effect of substitution is rather mild and monotonous within each transport regime and crystallographic phase, an abrupt change in the Arrhenius parameters between the alpha- and beta-type phases is observed.  相似文献

In this study, (51)V, (45)Sc and (93)Nb MAS NMR combined with satellite transition spectroscopy analysis were used to characterize the complex solid mixtures: VNb(9(1-x))Ta(9x)O(25), ScNb((1-x))Ta(x)O(4) and ScNb(2(1-x))Ta(2x)VO(9) (x = 0, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1.0). This led us to describe the structures of Sc and V sites. The conclusions were based on accurate values for (51)V quadrupole coupling and chemical shift tensors obtained with (51)V MAS NMR/SATRAS for VNb(9)O(25), VTa(9)O(25) and ScVO(4). The (45)Sc NMR parameters have been obtained for Sc(2)O(3), ScVO(4), ScNbO(4) and ScTaO(4). On the basis of (45)Sc NMR and data available from literature, the ranges of the (45)Sc chemical shift have been established for ScO(6) and ScO(8). The gradual change of the (45)Sc and (51)V NMR parameters with x confirms the formation of solid solutions in the process of synthesis of VNb(9(1-x))Ta(9x)O(25) and ScNb((1-x))Ta(x)O(4), in contrast to ScNb(2(1-x))Ta(2x)VO(9). The cation sublattice of ScNb((1-x))Ta(x)O(4) is found to be in octahedral coordination. The V sites in VNb(9(1-x))Ta(9x)O(25) are present in the form of slightly distorted tetrahedra. The (93)Nb NMR parameters have been obtained for VNb(9)O(25).  相似文献

The influence of the Lewis basicity of alkali polysulfide fluxes (A(2)S(x)) (A = alkali) as a function of x on the respective reactivities of Pb and Sn with Ge was studied and found to be strong. Cs(4)Pb(4)Ge(5)S(16), K(2)PbGe(2)S(6), and K(4)Sn(3)Ge(3)S(14) could be prepared only under low basicity with S/A(2)S ratios of > or =11. These compounds display complex frameworks and are semiconductors. Cs(4)Pb(4)Ge(5)S(16) is luminescent with red emission.  相似文献

A low barrier in the reaction pathway between the double Rydberg isomer of OH(3) (-) and a hydride-water complex indicates that the former species is more difficult to isolate and characterize through anion photoelectron spectroscopy than the well known double Rydberg anion (DRA), tetrahedral NH(4) (-). Electron propagator calculations of vertical electron detachment energies (VEDEs) and isosurface plots of the electron localization function disclose that the transition state's electronic structure more closely resembles that of the DRA than that of the hydride-water complex. Possible stabilization of the OH(3) (-) DRA through hydrogen bonding or ion-dipole interactions is examined through calculations on O(2)H(5) (-) species. Three O(2)H(5) (-) minima with H(-)(H(2)O)(2), hydrogen-bridged, and DRA-molecule structures resemble previously discovered N(2)H(7) (-) species and have well separated VEDEs that may be observable in anion photoelectron spectra.  相似文献

The polaron might play an important role in the process of charge migration through duplex DNA stack. In the present work, we investigate properties of hole polarons in DNA molecules containing identical base pairs, such as poly(G)-poly(C) and poly(A)-poly(T), An extended tight-binding model (extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model), which involves the effect of an electric field in the direction of DNA stack, will be introduced. The transfer integral and electron-phonon coupling parameters in this model are obtained according to ab initio calculation for different base pair dimers. Calculations reveal that the polaron in poly(A)-poly(T) has a wider shape and a higher mobility under a specific electric field than that in poly(G)-poly(C) DNA stack.  相似文献

The rate of the electron exchange between thallium(I) and thallium(III) induced by iron(II) has been measured at various concentrations of Tl(I), Tl(III), and Fe(II).204Tl tracer, initially in the Tl(I) state, was used. Exchange induced by the separation method was less than 0.01%. The mechanism earlier discussed is $$\begin{gathered} Tl^{III} + Fe^{II} \rightleftharpoons Tl^{II} + Fe^{III} \left( {k_1 ,k_{ - 1} } \right) \hfill \\ Tl^{II} + Fe^{II} \rightharpoonup Tl^I + Fe^{III} \left( {k_2 } \right) \hfill \\ *Tl^I + Tl^{II} \rightleftharpoons *Tl^{II} + Tl^I \left( {k_I } \right) \hfill \\ *Tl^{II} + Tl^{III} \rightleftharpoons *Tl^{III} + Tl^{II} \left( {k_{III} } \right), \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ which provides an exchange path in addition to the two-electron reaction*TlI+TlIII?*TlIII+TlI (kex). The rate law deduced from this mechanism agrees with experiment over a limited range of conditions but fails to account for the observed effect at low concentrations of Tl(I). The additional rate can be represented by inclusion of a term in which the rate of the induced exchange is independent of the concentration of Tl(I). When treated according to the resulting complete rate law the data are consistent with earlier photochemical studies. The present results in combination with other data give k2=3·106 M?1·sec?1 in 1M perchloric acid at 25°C. This is in satisfactory agreement with a recent pulse radiolysis measurement as well as with independent flash photolysis studies.  相似文献

Fluorescence excitation spectra produced through photoexcitation of N(2) using synchrotron radiation in the spectral region between 80 and 100 nm have been studied. Two broadband detectors were employed to simultaneously monitor fluorescence in the 115-320 nm and 300-700 nm regions, respectively. The peaks in the vacuum ultraviolet fluorescence excitation spectra are found to correspond to excitation of absorption transitions from the ground electronic state to the b (1)Pi(u), b(') (1)Sigma(u) (+), c(n) (1)Pi(u) (with n=4-8), c(n) (') (1)Sigma(u) (+) (with n=5-9), and c(4) (')(v('))(1)Sigma(u) (+) (with v(')=0-8) states of N(2). The relative fluorescence production cross sections for the observed peaks are determined. No fluorescence has been produced through excitation of the most dominating absorption features of the b-X transition except for the (1,0), (5,0), (6,0), and (7,0) bands, in excellent agreement with recent lifetime measurements and theoretical calculations. Fluorescence peaks, which correlate with the long vibrational progressions of the c(4) (') (1)Sigma(u) (+) (with v(')=0-8) and the b(') (1)Sigma(u) (+) (with v(') up to 19), have been observed. The present results provide important information for further unraveling of complicated and intriguing interactions among the excited electronic states of N(2). Furthermore, solar photon excitation of N(2) leading to the production of c(4) (')(0) may provide useful data required for evaluating and analyzing dayglow models relevant to the interpretation of c(4) (')(0) in the atmospheres of Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Titan, and Triton.  相似文献

YBaFe(2)O(5) has been synthesized by heating a nanoscale citrate precursor in a carefully controlled reducing environment. Successful synthesis of a single-phase sample can only be achieved in a narrow window of oxygen partial pressures and temperatures. YBaFe(2)O(5) adopts an oxygen-deficient perovskite-type structure, which contains double layers of corner sharing FeO(5) square pyramids separated by Y(3+) ions. At T(N) congruent with 430 K, tetragonal (P4/mmm) and paramagnetic YBaFe(2)O(5) orders antiferromagnetically (AFM) experiencing a slight orthorhombic distortion (Pmmm). Around this temperature, it can be characterized as a class-III mixed valence (MV) compound, where all iron atoms exist as equivalent MV Fe(2.5+) ions. The magnetic structure is characterized by AFM Fe-O-Fe superexchange coupling within the double layers and a ferromagnetic Fe-Fe direct-exchange coupling between neighboring double layers. Upon cooling below approximately 335 K, a premonitory charge ordering (2Fe(2.5+) --> Fe(2.5+delta) + Fe(2.5)(-delta)) into a class-II MV phase takes place. This transition is detected by differential scanning calorimetry, but powder diffraction techniques fail to detect any volume change or a long-range structural order. At approximately 308 K, a complete charge ordering (2Fe(2.5+) --> Fe(2+) + Fe(3+)) into a class-I MV compound takes place. This charge localization triggers a number of changes in the crystal, magnetic, and electronic structure of YBaFe(2)O(5). The magnetic structure rearranges to a G-type AFM structure, where both the Fe-O-Fe superexchange and the Fe-Fe direct-exchange couplings are antiferromagnetic. The crystal structure rearranges (Pmma) to accommodate alternating chains of Fe(2+) and Fe(3+) running along b and an unexpectedly large cooperative Jahn-Teller distortion about the high-spin Fe(2+) ions. This order of charges does not fulfill the Anderson condition, and it rather corresponds to an ordering of doubly occupied Fe(2+) d(xz) orbitals. Comparisons with YBaMn(2)O(5) and YBaCo(2)O(5) are made to highlight the impact of changing the d-electron count.  相似文献
