Electrochemical combination of the magnetic dinuclear anion [MM'(C2O4)(NCS)8](4-) (MM' = Cr(III)Cr(III), Cr(III)Fe(III)) with the ET organic pi-donor (ET = BEDT-TTF = bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene) gives rise to two new isostructural molecular hybrid salts ET5[MM'(C2O4)(NCS)8], with MM' = CrCr (1), CrFe (2). The molecular structure of compound 1 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The particular arrangement of the organic units consists of an unprecedented two-dimensional organic sublattice nearly similar to that observed in kappa-phase structures. For both compounds, the magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate (i) the ET radicals do not contribute to the magnetic moment probably due to the presence of strong antiferromagnetic interaction between them, and (ii) in the anion, the magnetic coupling is antiferromagnetic for 1 (J = -3.65 cm(-1)) and ferromagnetic for 2 (J = 1.14 cm(-1), J being the parameter of the exchange Hamiltonian H = -2JS1S2). The field dependence of the magnetization of compound 2 at 2.0 K gives further evidence of the S = 4 ground-state arising from the interaction between S = 3/2 Cr(III) and S = 5/2 Fe(III). EPR measurements confirm the nature of the magnetic interactions and the absence of any contribution from the organic part, as observed from the static magnetic measurement. Conductivity measurements and electronic band structure calculations show that both salts are semiconductors with low activation energies.  相似文献

Three Mn(III)-M(III) (M = Cr and Fe) dinuclear complexes have been obtained by assembling [Mn(III)(SB)(H(2)O)](+) and [M(III)(AA)(CN)(4)](-) ions, where SB is the dianion of the Schiff-base resulting from the condensation of 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde with ethylenediamine (3-MeOsalen(2-)) or 1,2-cyclohexanediamine (3-MeOsalcyen(2-)): [Mn(3-MeOsalen)(H(2)O)(μ-NC)Cr(bipy)(CN)(3)]·2H(2)O (1), [Mn(3-MeOsalen)(H(2)O)(μ-NC)Cr(ampy)(CN)(3)][Mn(3-MeOsalen)(H(2)O)(2)]ClO(4)·2H(2)O (2) and [Mn(3-MeOsalcyen)(H(2)O)(μ-NC)Fe(bpym)(CN)(3)]·3H(2)O (3) (bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine, ampy = 2-aminomethylpyridine and bpym = 2,2'-bipyrimidine). The [M(AA)(CN)(4)](-) unit in 1-3 acts as a monodentate ligand towards the manganese(III) ion through one of its four cyanide groups. The manganese(III) ion in 1-3 exhibits an elongated octahedral stereochemistry with the tetradentate SB building the equatorial plane and a water molecule and a cyanide-nitrogen atom filling the axial positions. Remarkably, the neutral mononuclear complex [Mn(3-MeOsalen)(H(2)O)(2)]ClO(4) co-crystallizes with the heterobimetallic unit in 2. The values of the Mn(III)-M(III) distance across the bridging cyanide are 5.228 (1), 5.505 (2) and 5.265 ? (3). The packing of the neutral heterobimetallic units in the crystal is governed by the self-complementarity of the [Mn(SB)(H(2)O)](+) moieties, which interact each other through hydrogen bonds established between the aqua ligand from one fragment with the set of phenolate- and methoxy-oxygens from the adjacent one. The magnetic properties of the three complexes have been investigated in the temperature range 1.9-300 K. Weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Mn(III) and M(III) ions across the cyanido bridge were found: J(MnM) = -5.6 (1), -0.63 (2) and -2.4 cm(-1) (3) the Hamiltonian being defined as H = -JS(Mn)·S(M). Theoretical calculations based on density functional theory (DFT) have been used to substantiate both the nature and magnitude of the exchange interactions observed and also to analyze the dependence of the magnetic coupling on the structural parameters within the Mn(III)-N-C-M(III) motif in 1-3.  相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations at the gradient corrected DFT level using the exchange correlation functionals BP86 and B3LYP of the geometries of the title compounds are reported. The theoretically predicted bond lengths and angles of the model compounds are in excellent agreement with experiment. The nature of the metal-ligand interactions is quantitatively analyzed with an energy decomposition method. The analysis of the electronic structure of the neutral metal germylyne complexes Ia-Id and the metallogermylenes IIa-IId shows that the former compounds have about the same degree of electrostatic and covalent bonding, while the relative strength of the covalent contributions in the latter molecules is lower (41-42%) than the electrostatic attraction (58-59%). The a' '(pi) bonding contribution in the group-6 germylyne complexes Ia-Ic is rather high (42% of the orbital interactions). In the iron complex Id, it is even higher (53.8%) than the sigma bonding. The pi bonding contributions to the covalent bonding become much less (18-20%) in the metallogermylenes IIa-IId.  相似文献

The synthesis and magnetic properties of the oxalate-based molecular soluble magnets with general formula [K(18-crown-6)] 3[M (II) 3(H 2O) 4{M (III)(ox) 3} 3] (M (III) = Cr, Fe; M (II) = Mn, Fe, Ni, Co, Cu; ox = C 2O 4 (2-)) are here described. All the reported compounds are isostructural and built up by 2D bimetallic networks formed by alternating M (III) and M (II) ions connected through oxalate anions. Whereas the Cr (III)M (II) derivatives behave as ferromagnets with critical temperatures up to 8 K, the Fe (III)M (II) present ferri- or weak ferromagnetic ordering up to 26 K.  相似文献

The structures of trans-[CoIII(cyclam)(NCS)2](NCS) and of [CoII(Me4cyclam)(NCS)]2[Co(NCS)4]·MeOH have been established by X-ray diffraction methods. The solvatochromic behavior of the trans-[Co(cyclam)(NCS)2]+ cation in several binary aqueous solvent mixtures is reported. Transfer chemical potentials for this complex from H2O into MeOH-H2O mixtures have been established from solubility measurements on its thiocyanate salt. The solvatochromic behavior of this cation is discussed in the context of other solvatochromic inorganic complexes; its transfer chemical potentials are discussed in relation to those of other cobalt(III) complexes.  相似文献

Oxalate-based magnets have been known with several different crystallographic structures, from 1D to 3D, but with all of them based in metal ions with octahedral coordination. In this article we report a new bidimensional oxalate-bridged bimetallic magnet where the divalent metal appears heptacoordinated, which has strong effects in the structure and properties of this materials.  相似文献

The salt [(CH3)4N]2[Sb6O4(NCS)12] is the first identified thiocyanato-oxy-antimonate(III) complex. Reported are details of the synthesis, relevant infrared data and its x-ray structure. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 2 (C10H12N7O2S6Sb3) and unit cell dimensions a = 11.314(6), b = 12.846(3), c = 8.679(2) Å; α = 91.93(3)°, β = 90.31(3)° and γ = 99.13(3)°. It contains centrosymmetric [Sb6O4(NCS)12]2? anions packed with isolated tetramethyl-ammonium cations. The fundamental structural element of the anion is provided by the fusion of three SbOSbO rings forming a zig-zag portion of a ribbon, only slightly pleated. Peculiar is the unequivalence of the six thiocyanate ligands, though all primarily N-bonded to antimony atoms. Three thiocyanates are terminal while other three are asymmetrically N-bridging between two centers; two of this latter type are also interconnecting the anions via Sb???S contacts. There are three different antimony environments, the primary bonding at Sb being to one nitrogen and three oxygens, to one oxygen and three nitrogens and to two atoms of each type.  相似文献

Three-dimensional network structures of [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] (M = Cr, Fe, Co) composition have been formed and their magnetic properties characterized. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[M(III)(CN)(6)] (M = Cr, Fe, Co) have nu(CN) IR absorptions at 2138, 2116, and 2125 cm(-1) and have body-centered unit cells (a = 13.34, 13.30, and 13.10 A, respectively) with -M-Ctbd1;N-Ru=Ru-Ntbd1;C-M- linkages along all three Cartesian axes. [Ru(II/III)(2)(O(2)CMe)(4)](3)[Cr(III)(CN)(6)] magnetically orders as a ferrimagnet (T(c) = 33 K) and has an unusual constricted hysteresis loop.  相似文献

Preparation and Crystal Structure of (n-Bu4N)3[Ir(NCS)(SCN)5] The evaporated ethanolic extrakt of the reaction product of K3[IrCl6] and HNO3, refluxed with an aqueous KSCN solution yields a mixture of the linkage isomers [Ir(NCS)n(SCN)6?-n]3?, n = 0? 2, and small amounts of linkage isomeric chloropentarhodanoiridates(III), from which [Ir(NCS)(SCN)5]3? has been isolated by ion exchange chromatography on DEAE-cellulose. The X-Ray structure determination on a single crystal of (n-Bu4N)3[Ir(NCS)(SCN)5] (monoclinic, space group P 21/a, a = 17.513(5), b = 32.607(5), c = 23.661(5) Å, β = 94.757(5)°, Z = 8) confirms the existance of a heteroleptic hexakis(thiocyanato(N)-thiocyanato(S))iridate(III) with an Ir? N distance of 2.03 Å and Ir? S bond lengths between 2.29 and 2.38 Å. The SCN groups with angles between 166 and 175° are nearly linear with Ir? S? C angles from 99.9 to 109.4°. The Ir? N? C angles of the two crystallographic independent anions are 166 and 174°.  相似文献

Three new complex ions, [Cr(NCS)(R-pdtrp)]-, [Cr(R-pdtrp)(NCSHg)]+ and [Cr(edtrp)(NCSHg)]+, that are derivatives of the trans-equatorial isomers of [Cr(R-pdtrp)(H2O)]0 and [Cr(edtrp)(H2O)]0 (edtrp= ethylenediamine-N,N,N-tripropionate, R-pdtrp= R-propane-1,2-diamine-N,N,N-tripropionate) have been obtained and characterized in solution. Rate constants and activation parameters, including, in two cases, volumes of activation, have been determined. Rate retardation for NCS- ligand release has been observed with increasing acidity within the pH 0–2 range. The mechanism of the reactions has been discussed.  相似文献

The pressure dependence of the magnetic properties of weak ferromagnets (BDH-TTP)[M(isoq)2(NCS)4] [BDH-TTP = 2,5-bis(1',3'-dithiolan-2'-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene; M = Cr, Fe; isoq = isoquinoline] is discussed. These salts form two-dimensional magnetic sheets, where ferrimagnetic chains of donor cation radical (S = 1/2) and anion [S = 3/2 (Cr), 5/2 (Fe)] are antiferromagnetically connected by weak donor-donor and anion-anion interchain S...S contacts. Under ambient pressure, both the Cr and Fe salts undergo a weak ferromagnetic transition at Tc = 7.6 K, below which a spontaneous magnetization emerges along the direction perpendicular to the sheets. The application of the pressure elevates the transition temperatures up to 16.6 and 11.6 K at 9 kbar for M = Cr and Fe, respectively. As the pressure increases, the remanent magnetization M(r) decreases, whose pressure dependence for the Cr salt is larger than that for the Fe salt. This difference indicates that the spin-canting angle of the Cr salt is reduced because of the increase of antiferromagnetic interaction by applied pressure, in contrast to the Fe salt, where single-ion anisotropy contributes less. The quantitative analysis of the magnetization curves of the Cr salt using the mean-field approximation reveals that the intermolecular exchange interaction increases as the pressure increases, among which the interchain anion-anion interaction has the highest pressure sensitivity. This result is consistent with the temperature dependence of the crystal structure showing that the thermal contraction in the distances of interchain anion-anion S...S contacts is the most remarkable in intrachain S...S contacts. The large pressure dependence of the transition temperature of these salts is therefore explained as a result of the fact that the interchain interactions, the anion-anion interaction in particular, are strengthened by applied pressure.  相似文献

A new organic-inorganic hybrid salt [TM-TTF][Cr(NCS)(4)(isoquinoline)(2)] (1) (TM-TTF = Tetramethyltetrathiafulvalene) has been synthesized. Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic P space group with a = 8.269(1), b = 10.211(2), and c = 11.176(2) A, alpha = 89.244(9), beta = 88.114(6), and gamma = 74.277(7) degrees, V = 907.6(3) A(3), and Z = 1. The crystal structure was resolved in the temperature range between 223 and 123 K, showing that changes in the crystal structure at low temperature result in stronger interactions between anions and cations. The packing of 1 consists of mixed anion-cation layers in the bc plane containing S.S and pi-pi anion-cation interactions, the layers being connected by very short S.S contacts between anions and cations. Magnetic measurements in a small external field show bulk spontaneous magnetization with a T(c) of 6.6 K consistent with the presence of weakly coupled ferrimagnetic order in compound 1. The EPR measurements also demonstrate the interaction between the d and pi electrons and the presence of an internal magnetic field brought about by the magnetic ordering.  相似文献

The compounds [Cu(N3)(NSC)(tmen)]n (1), [Cu(N3)(NCO)(tmen)]n (2) and [Cu(N3)(NCO)(tmen)]2 (3) (tmen=N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine) were synthesized and studied by i.r. spectroscopy. Single crystals of compounds (1) and (3) were obtained and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The structure of compound (1) consists of neutral chains of copper(II) ions bridged by a single azido ligand showing the asymmetric end-to-end coordination fashion. Each copper ion is also surrounded by the other three nitrogen atoms; two from one N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine and one from a terminal bonded thiocyanate group. Compound (2) decomposes slowly in acetone and the product formed [Cu(N3)(NCO)(tmen)]2 (3) crystallizes in the monoclinic system (P21). The structure of (3) consists of dimeric units in which the Cu atoms are penta-coordinated and connected by μ(1,3) bridging azido and cyanate ligands. In both cases the five coordinated atoms give rise to a slightly distorted square-based pyramid coordination geometry at each copper ion. The thermal behavior of [Cu(N3)(NSC)(tmen)]n (1) and [Cu(N3)(NCO)(tmen)]n (2) were investigated and the final decomposition products were identified by X-ray powder diagrams.  相似文献
