In order to clarify whether the mixed valence of Eu2+/Eu3+ exists in a self-compensation mode in Eu-doped BaTiO3, the site occupation and valence state of Eu ions in barium titanate were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), electron spin resonance (ESR), Raman spectroscopy (RS), and dielectric measurements. The results indicate that Eu ions may enter both Ba- and Ti-sites as Eu3+, forming a self-compensation mode with the amphoteric behavior. Self-compensation characteristics of Eu ions in BaTiO3 are reflected by an expansion in unit cell volume, evolution of the 830 cm− 1 Raman band, strong diffusion of the dielectric peak, disappearance of the Eu2+ ESR broad signal, and a g = 2.004 signal independent of temperature.  相似文献

A novel orange-yellow-emitting Ba2LiB5O10:Eu2+ phosphor has been synthesized by traditional high temperature solid state reaction. A monoclinic crystal structure of Barium lithiumborates Ba2LiB5O10 was verified by the investigation of X-ray diffraction (XRD). The compound crystallizes in the space group of P121/m1(11) (Z = 2) with the unit cell parameters a = 4.414(1) Å, b = 14.576(2) Å, c = 6.697(2) Å and β = 104.26(2)°. Barium and lithium atoms are located in distorted octahedral and tetrahedral oxygen coordinations, respectively. Upon around 365 nm excitation, the Eu2+-activated Ba2LiB5O10 phosphors exhibit a single broad emission band with the maximum at about 587 nm, due to the 4f65d → 4f7(8S7/2) transition of Eu2+. This work investigates the relationship between luminescence properties and structural characterization of the Ba2LiB5O10: Eu2+. This newly developed phosphor shows high potential as a phosphor conversion for white LED applications.  相似文献

A blue phosphor, BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+, has been synthesized in the furnace at a temperature of 500 °C by solution combustion method. The formation of the as-prepared BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ phosphor was confirmed by the powder X-ray diffraction technique. The EPR spectrum exhibited an intense resonance signal centered at g=4.63 at 150 mT along with a number of resonances in the vicinity of g>2.0 and g<2.0. The number of spins participating in resonance (N) and the susceptibility (c) for the resonance signal at g=4.63 have been calculated as a function of temperature. The excitation spectrum of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ phosphor showed a strong peak near 336 nm (4f7 (8S)→5d1(t2g) transition) with a staircase like structure in the region 376-400 nm owing to crystal field splitting of the Eu2+ d-orbital. The 336 nm excitation produced a broad blue emission at 450 nm corresponding to 4f65d→4f7 transition. PL studies reveal the two emission centers one at 450 nm and the other at 490 nm in this phosphor.  相似文献

In this study, green-emitting Na2CaPO4F:Eu2+ phosphors were synthesized by solid-state reactions. The excitation spectra of the phosphors showed a broad hump between 250 and 450 nm; the spectra match well with the near-ultraviolet (NUV) emission spectra of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The emission spectrum showed an intense broad emission band centered at 506 nm. White LEDs were fabricated by integrating a 390 nm NUV chip comprising blue-emitting BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+, green-emitting Na2CaPO4F:0.02 Eu2+, and red-emitting CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ phosphors into a single package; the white LEDs exhibited white light with a correlated color temperature of 5540 K, a color-rendering index of 90.75, and color coordinates (0.332, 0.365) close to those of ideal white light.  相似文献

A series of Eu2+-activated Ba2Mg(BO3)2 yellow phosphors were prepared by a high temperature solid-state reaction. The phosphor emits intense yellow light under near ultraviolet excitation. Large Stokes shift can be attributed to the asymmetric nature of the Eu site and the lack of rigidity in the host. The concentration self-quenching mechanism of Ba2Mg(BO3)2:Eu2+ is d-d interaction and the critical transfer distance is calculated to be about 12.29 Å. Prototype light-emitting diodes were fabricated by coating the Ba2Mg(BO3)2:0.07Eu2+ phosphor onto ∼370 nm-emitting InGaN chips. The LEDs exhibit intense yellow-emitting under a forward bias of 20 mA. The results indicate that Eu2+-activated Ba2Mg(BO3)2 is a candidate as a yellow component for fabrication of near-UV white light-emitting diodes.  相似文献

The Eu2+-doped Ba3Si6O12N2 green phosphor (EuxBa3−xSi6O12N2) was synthesized by a conventional solid state reaction method. It could be efficiently excited by UV-blue light (250-470 nm) and shows a single intense broadband emission (480-580 nm). The phosphor has a concentration quenching effect at x=0.20 and a systematic red-shift in emission wavelength with increasing Eu2+ concentration. High quantum efficiency and suitable excitation range make it match well with the emission of near-UV LEDs or blue LEDs. First-principles calculations indicate that Ba3Si6O12N2:Eu2+ phosphor exhibits a direct band gap, and low band energy dispersion, leading to a high luminescence intensity. The origin of the experimental absorption peaks is clearly identified based on the analysis of the density of states (DOS) and absorption spectra. The photoluminescence properties are related to the transition between 4f levels of Eu and 5d levels of both Eu and Ba atoms. The 5d energy level of Ba plays an important role in the photoluminescence of Ba3Si6O12N2:Eu2+ phosphor. The high quantum efficiency and long-wavelength excitation are mainly attributed to the existence of Ba atoms. Our results give a new explanation of photoluminescence properties and could direct future designation of novel phosphors for white light LED.

We have evaluated thermal stability and aging property of a blue color-emitting phosphor, CaAl2Si2O8:Eu2+ (CAS:Eu2+), synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction method. When both CAS:Eu2+ and BaMgAl10O19:Eu2+ (BAM) were baked in air at 500 °C for 20 min, the decrease of photoluminescence (PL) intensity of CAS:Eu2+ was lower than that of BAM. The aging property of CAS:Eu2+ was also better than that of BAM. Due to its rigid structure and unlimited framework of silicon-oxygen and aluminum-oxygen around Eu2+ ions, Eu2+ ions were protected from outer oxidizing atmosphere and plasma discharge. After analysis of aging property and thermal stability, the differences of these thermal stability and aging property of CAS:Eu2+ from those of BAM were ascribed to its crystal structure which plays a role of a shield for Eu2+ ions against oxidation atmosphere and Xe ion bombardment.  相似文献

Nanosized barium aluminate materials was doped by divalent cations (Ca2+, Sr2+) and Eu2+ having nominal compositions Ba1−xMxAl12O19:Eu (M=Ca and Sr) (x=0.1-0.5), were synthesized by the combustion method. These phosphors were characterized by XRD, scanning electron microscopy-energy-dispersive spectrometry (SEM-EDS) and photoluminescence measurement. The photoluminescence characterization showed the presence of Eu ion in divalent form which gave emission bands peaking at 444 nm for the 320 nm excitation (solid-state lighting excitation), while for 254 nm it gave the same emission wavelength of low intensity (1.5 times) compared to 320 nm excitation. It was also observed that alkaline earth metal (Ca2+ and Sr2+) dopants increase the intensity of Eu2+ ion in BaAl12O19 lattice, thus this phosphor may be useful for solid-state lighting.  相似文献

Eu,Ti co-doped Y2O2S:0.03Ti,0.03Eu phosphors and single Eu or Ti doped Y2O2S phosphors were prepared and their luminescent properties were investigated in detail by photoluminescence (PL) spectra, long afterglow spectra and thermoluminescence spectra measurements. The results showed that Y2O2S:Ti,Eu phosphors possess orange-red afterglow color with afterglow time above 5 h. The reddish afterglow color, which corresponds to a set of linear Eu3+ emissions at low-energy range (540-630 nm), was demonstrated to come from the energy transfer process from yellow Ti afterglow emissions, the proposed energy transfer mechanism may well explain the Eu3+ afterglow emission.  相似文献

Europium doped LaMgAl11O19 phosphor was prepared by the combustion method. The as-prepared and post-treated (1350 °C 10 h 5% H2+95% N2) phosphors were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence (PL) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) techniques. XRD patterns show that LaMgAl11O19:Eu phosphors have hexagonal structure. FT-IR spectrum exhibits absorption bands corresponding to the stretching vibration of AlO4 and AlO6. Morphological studies reveal that this phosphor has faceted plates of varying sizes and shapes. The as-prepared LaMgAl11O19:Eu phosphor consists of both Eu3+ and Eu2+ ions. The phosphor exhibits a bright blue emission at 450 nm (4f65d→4f7 transition of Eu2+). On post-treating the phosphor we are able to enhance the blue emission efficiency by 330%. The process was detected from the evolution of excitation, emission and EPR spectra and the results are discussed.  相似文献

Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors with white emission are prepared with different doping concentration of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions and synthesizing temperatures from 750 to 950 °C by the co-precipitation method. The resulted phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The results of XRD indicate that the crystallinity of the synthesized samples increases with enhancing the firing temperature. The photoluminescence spectra indicate the Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-doped Y2O3 phosphors show five main emission peaks: three at 590, 611 and 629 nm originate from Eu3+ and two at 481 and 541 nm originate from Tb3+, under excitation of 250-320 nm irradition. The white light luminescence color could be changed by varying the excitation wavelength. Different concentrations of Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions were induced into the Y2O3 lattice and the energy transfer from Tb3+→Eu3+ ions in these phosphors was found. The Commission International de l’Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity shows that the Y2O3:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors can obtain an intense white emission.  相似文献

The excitation spectra of M (M=Si4+, Ti4+) and Eu3+ co-doped BaZr(BO3)2, BaZrO3:Eu and La2Zr2O7:Eu in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) regions of 110-300 nm are investigated and the host-lattice absorption are characterized. The result indicated that BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+ phosphor has a strong absorption under the VUV excitation, and in the host-lattice excitation, the strong band at 130-160 nm could be due to the BO3 atomic groups; the band at 160-180 nm is related to the excitation of Ba-O; 180-200 nm corresponds to the charge transfer (CT) transition of Zr-O. The band at 200-235 nm due to the CT band of Eu3+-O2− and a bond valence study explained the observed weak CT band of Eu3+-O2− in the excitation spectra of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu3+. The emission results show that Si4+ can sensitize luminescence in the host of BaZr(BO3)2:Eu but Ti4+ has no improvement effect on luminescence.  相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) enhancement of SrSi2O2N2:Eu and the resultant color improvement of white-light were investigated via co-doping Mn with Eu. We observed that a unique absorption of host lattice of SrSi2O2N2 and its visible band emission peaked at around ∼550 nm for SrSi2O2N2:Mn2+ in the wavelength range of 450-600 nm. This highly eye-sensitive ∼550 nm-peaked band emission of SrSi2O2N2 doped with Mn2+ happens to overlap the 535 nm-peaked band emission of SrSi2O2N2 doped with Eu2+, resulting in an intensified photoluminescence in a maximum by 355%. By combining this as-prepared Mn intensified SrSi2O2N2:Eu phosphor with blue InGaN chip, the quality of white-light was improved to 93.3% for color rendering index and 3584 K for correlated color temperature.  相似文献

We have synthesized blue-emitting CaMgSi2O6:Eu2+ (CMS) and evaluated its thermal stability after baking process. To evaluate its thermal stability, CMS was baked in air at 500 and 600 °C for 20 min, respectively, and compared with BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ (BAM) treated in the same condition. After baking process, CMS showed somewhat increased photoluminescence (PL) intensity with baking temperature. To investigate the reasons behind the increase of PL intensity after baking process, vacuum ultraviolet (VUV)/PL, electron spin resonance (ESR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques were applied. From the ESR and the XPS analyses, it is noted that spectral intensity of Eu2+ ion somewhat increased. It was believed that due to charge balance Eu3+ ions reduced to Eu2+ ions during the baking process in air. It is clear that the concentration of Eu2+ increased after the baking process in air and it leads to slight increase of the VUV/PL intensity of CMS phosphor.  相似文献

Green phosphor compositions MgxSr1−xAl2O4:Eu, Nd (with x=0.05-0.25) were prepared by solid state reaction method. The effect of Mg substitution on photoluminescence characteristics was investigated. The photoluminescence show intense green emission for MgSrAl2O4:Eu2+, Nd3+ with long persistence. This green emission corresponds to transitions from 4f65d1 to 4f7 of Eu2+ ion. Comparative analysis of the excitation and emission spectra were used to evaluate the crystal field splitting of the 5d states of Eu2+ and the parameters of electron-vibrational interaction, such as Huang-Rhys factor, effective phonon energy, and zero-phonon line position.  相似文献

Eu2+ and Dy3+ co-doped calcium aluminate, barium aluminate and strontium aluminate phosphors were synthesized at an initiating combustion temperature of 500 °C using urea as an organic fuel. The crystallinity of the phosphors was investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the morphology was determined by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The low temperature monoclinic structure for both CaAl2O4 and SrAl2O4 and the hexagonal structure of BaAl2O4 were observed. The effect of the host materials on the photoluminescence (PL) and phosphorescence properties were investigated by using a He-Cd Laser and a Cary Eclipse fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively. The broad band emission spectra observed at 449 nm for CaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+, 450 nm (with a shoulder-peak at 500 nm) for BaAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ and 528 nm for SrAl2O4:Eu2+, Dy3+ are attributed to the 4f65d1 to 4f7 transition in the Eu2+ ion in the different hosts.  相似文献

Binary (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glasses doped with Eu2O3 and nanoparticles of Gd2O3:Eu were prepared by conventional melt-quench method and their luminescence properties were compared. Undoped (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glass is characterized by a luminescent defect centre (similar to L-centre present in Na2O-SiO2 glasses) with emission around 324 nm and having an excited state lifetime of 18 ns. Such defect centres can transfer the energy to Eu3+ ions leading to improved Eu3+ luminescence from such glasses. Based on the decay curves corresponding to the 5D0 level of Eu3+ ions in both Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles incorporated as well as Eu2O3 incorporated glasses, a significant clustering of Eu3+ ions taking place with the latter sample is confirmed. From the lifetime studies of the excited state of L-centre emission from (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glass doped with Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles, it is established that there exists weak energy transfer from L-centres to Eu3+ ions. Poor energy transfer from the defect centres to Eu3+ ions in Gd2O3:Eu nanoparticles doped (ZnO)0.5(P2O5)0.5 glass has been attributed to effective shielding of Eu3+ ions from the luminescence centre by Gd-O-P type of linkages, leading to an increased distance between luminescent centre and Eu3+ ions.  相似文献

Polycrystalline KCaSO4Cl:Eu, Dy, KCaSO4Cl:Ce, Dy and KCaSO4Cl:Ce, Mn phosphors prepared by a solid state diffusion method have been studied for its photoluminescence (PL) characteristics. The presence of two overlapping bands at around 400 and 450 nm in the PL emission spectra of the phosphor suggests the presence of Eu2+ in the host compound occupying two different lattice sites. The effects of co-doping on the photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of KCaSO4Cl:Eu or Ce phosphors have been studied. The decrease in peak intensity of the phosphor on co-doping it with Dy gives an insight into the emission mechanism of the phosphors, which involves energy transfer from Eu2+→Dy3+, Ce3+→Dy3+ and Ce3+→Mn2+.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline Y2Si2O7:Eu phosphor with an average size about 60 nm is easily prepared using silica aerogel as raw material under ultrasonic irradiation and annealing temperature at 300-600 °C and this nanocrystalline decomposes into Y2O3:Eu and silica by heat treatment at 700-900 °C. The excitation broad band centered at 283 and 254 nm results from Eu3+ substituting for Y3+ in Y2Si2O7 and Y2O3/SiO2, respectively. Compared with Y2O3:Eu/SiO2 crystalline, the PL excitation and emission peaks of Y2Si2O7:Eu nanocrystalline red-shift and lead to the enhance of its luminescence intensity due to the different chemical surroundings of Eu3+ in above nanocrystallines. The decrease of PL intensity may be ascribed to quenching effect resulting from more defects in Y2O3:Eu/SiO2 crystalline.  相似文献
