The physicochemical characteristics of nitrogen-modified TiO2/SiO2 and its photocatalytic activity in the oxidation of methyl orange (MO) were studied. Nitrogen-modified TiO2/SiO2 had higher activity than the unmodified samples. The photocatalytic oxidation of MO obeys the Langmuir-Hinshelwood model.  相似文献

To enhance the photocatalytic activity under solar light, highly ordered TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNAs) film with anatase phase was fabricated on glass and successfully doped with carbon at various temperatures of 450–550 °C. The characterization results indicate that, after carbon doping, the TNAs still remained nanotubular structure with anatase phase. But their optical response shifted from UV to the visible light region and the recombination of photogenerated carriers was suppressed effectively. It is more important that the carbon-doped TNAs/glass (C-TNAs) samples exhibited high solar light photocatalytic activity, and 68%, 61% and 56% MO was photodegraded in 150 min by the C-TNAs calcined at 550, 500 and 450 °C, respectively. Especially, the apparent reaction rate constant of C-TNAs calcined at 550 (k, 0.065 min−1) with the highest activity is 3.6 times that of pristine anatase TNAs (k, 0.018 min−1). It is clear that carbon doping enhanced the photocatalytic activity under sunlight at optimized annealing temperature. The efficient activity could be attributed to the synergetic effects of strong visible light absorption, good crystallization, large surface, and enhanced separation of photoinduced carriers.  相似文献

Heterostructures play an important role not only in the manufacture of semiconductor devices, but also in the field of catalysis. Herein, we report the synthesis of PdO/TiO2 and Pd/TiO2 heterostructured nanobelts by means of a simple co‐precipitation method, followed by a reduction process using surface‐modified TiO2 nanobelts as templates. The as‐obtained heterostructures were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and UV/Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. PdO and Pd nanoparticles with a size of about 1.3 and 1.6 nm were assembled uniformly on the surface of TiO2 nanobelts, respectively. Compared with TiO2 nanobelts, PdO/TiO2 and Pd/TiO2 hybrid nanobelts exhibit enhanced photocatalytic activity upon UV and visible‐light irradiation. Photoelectrochemical technology was used to study the heterostructure effect on enhanced photocatalytic activity. Our mechanistic investigation revealed that energy‐band matching is the major factor in the observed enhancement of photocatalytic activity.  相似文献

Metallic platinum was photodeposited on TiO2 particles, and morphological characteristics of the Pt/TiO2 catalyst were determined. The dispersion of metallic platinum was uniform and did not alter the morphology of the TiO2 particles. However, absorbance of the Pt/TiO2 catalyst for light with wavelength more than 400 nm was significantly improved by the addition of metallic platinum. Gaseous acetone was decomposed in an annular photoreactor coated with TiO2 or Pt/TiO2 catalysts using a UV or a fluorescent lamp as light source. The decomposition of acetone with the application of a UV lamp was obviously enhanced for experiments conducted with Pt/TiO2 catalyst. Decomposition of acetone was promoted considerably with increasing oxygen concentration for experiments conducted with oxygen less than 50,000 ppmv, yet the decomposition of acetone was kept relatively constant for experiments conducted with oxygen above 50,000 ppmv. On the basis of the mass balance for carbon species, the amount of organic intermediates formed for experiments conducted under various conditions was found to be minimal. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. TiO(2)/DNA nanoconjugates were successfully fabricated by using the catechol moiety as a binding functional group, which was confirmed by steady-state absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies. Upon UV irradiation, the photocatalytic cleavage of the TiO(2)/DNA nanoconjugates was observed at the single-molecule level by using wide-field fluorescence microscopy. The decrease in the number of conjugates, which was estimated from the luminescent spots due to semiconductor quantum dots modified at the DNA strand, was significantly inhibited by a single A/C mismatch in the DNA sequences. This result strongly suggests that the migration of holes, which are injected from the photoexcited TiO(2) into the DNA, through the DNA bases plays an important role in the photocatalytic cleavage of the conjugates. The influences of the photogenerated reactive oxygen species (ROS) on the cleavage efficiency were also examined. According to the experimental results, it was concluded that oxidation of the catechol moiety and/or the DNA damage are key reactions in this process.  相似文献

UV/titanium dioxide (TiO2) degradation of two xanthene dyes, erythrosine B (Ery) and eosin Y (Eos), was studied in a photocatalytic reactor. Photocatalysis was able to degrade 98% of Ery and 73% of Eos and led to 65% of chemical oxygen demand removal. Experiments in buffered solutions at different initial pH values reveal the pH dependence of the process, with better results obtained under acidic conditions due to the electrostatic attraction caused by the opposite charges of TiO2 (positive) and of anionic dyes (negative). Batch activity tests under methanogenic conditions showed the high toxicity exerted by the dyes even at low concentrations (~85% with initial concentration of 0.3 mmol L?1), but the end products of photocatalytic treatment were much less toxic toward methanogenic bacteria, as detoxification of 85 ± 5% for Eos and 64 ± 7% for Ery were obtained. In contrast, the dyes had no inhibitory effect on the biogenic‐carbon biodegradation activity of aerobic biomass, obtained by respirometry. The results demonstrate that photocatalysis combining UV/TiO2 as a pretreatment followed by an anaerobic biological process may be promising for the treatment of wastewaters produced by many industries.  相似文献

TiO2/膨润土光催化降解有机污染物   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
用溶胶-凝胶法制备了一系列TiO2/膨润土光催化剂(不同负载量和不同焙烧温度), 以罗丹明B(RhB)为模型化合物, 通过测定染料吸光度和体系化学需氧量(COD)变化, 来研究它们在紫外光照射下降解有机污染物的性能. 评价结果表明, 负载量为50%和焙烧温度为400 ℃的催化剂Ti400样品降解RhB活性较好, 虽然其矿化活性略小于P25(光照4 h P25的COD变化为99.7%, 400 ℃焙烧的TiO2/膨润土催化剂Ti400的COD变化为97.0%), 但是TiO2/膨润土催化剂更易于回收再利用. 用Ti400做催化剂降解RhB, 连续循环使用7次, 其催化活性基本不变. 用XRD、BET和紫外可见漫反射(UV-Vis DRS)等方法对这些催化剂进行了表征. 表征结果表明催化剂比表面积大有利于催化活性的提高.  相似文献

采用改进的等体积浸渍法、光化学沉积法分别制备了不同Au担载量的Au/TiO2光催化剂,以甲基橙的光催化降解反应作为模型反应,考察了金的担载量、预处理条件、制备方法等因素对其光催化性能的影响,以漫反射紫外一可见光谱(DRS)分析了不同金担载量的Au/TiO2光催化剂的光谱特征。结果显示,适当担载量的Au可显著提高TiO2的光催化活性,以改进的等体积浸渍法制备的0.8%Au/TiO2催化剂的光催化活性最高。DRS结果显示,金的担载对TiO2的光谱特征没有影响。  相似文献

 采用沉积-沉淀法制备了Au/TiO2催化剂,用透射电子显微镜、紫外-可见漫反射光谱和X射线光电子能谱进行了表征,结果表明,样品在空气中于200 ℃处理后,金以金属态Au0的形式沉积在TiO2表面. 与TiO2相比,担载金的TiO2具有明显的光催化分解O3的活性. 黑光灯光照20 h后, 1%Au/TiO2催化剂对O3的分解率仍达98%以上. TiO2上的Au簇作为电子的捕获中心,能够促使电子与空穴的有效分离. 而Au簇和载体TiO2的周界处作为O3新的吸附活性中心,促进了O3的分解.  相似文献

Photocatalytic reduction of CO2 with H2O on TiO2 and Cu/TiO2 catalysts   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Photoinduced reduction of CO2 by H2O to produce CH4 and CH3OH has been investigated on wellcharacterized standard TiO2 catalysts and on a Cu2+ loaded TiO2 catalyst. The efficiency of this photoreaction depends strongly on the kind of catalyst and the ratio of H2O to CO2. Anatase TiO2, which has a large band gap and numerous surface OH groups, shows high efficiency for photocatalytic CH4 formation. Photogenerated Ti3+ ions, H and CH3 radicals are observed as reactive intermediates, by ESR at 77 K. Cu-loading of the small, powdered TiO2 catalyst (Cu/TiO2) brings about additional formation of CH3OH. XPS studies suggest that Cu+ plays a significant role in CH3OH formation.  相似文献

The application of photocatalytic coatings on stone has been investigated for providing surface protection and self-cleaning properties. Sol–Gel and hydrothermal processes were used to synthesise TiO2 colloidal suspensions and coatings with enhanced photocatalytic activity without any thermal curing of the coated stone. The stone was a porous limestone (apulian sedimentary carbonatic, calcite stone). Films and powders prepared from TiO2 sols were studied using X-ray diffraction to evaluate the microstructure and identify rutile and anatase phases. A morphological and physical characterisation was carried out on coated and uncoated stone to establish the changes of appearance, colour, water absorption by capillarity and water vapour permeability. The photocatalytic activity of the coated surface was evaluated under UV irradiation through NO x and organics degradation tests. The performances of the synthesised TiO2 sols were compared with commercial TiO2 suspension. Since the coating doesn’t need temperature treatments for activating the photocatalytic properties, the nano-crystalline hydrothermal TiO2 sols seem good candidate for coating applications on stone that cannot be annealed after the coating application.  相似文献

采用不同浓度的硫酸溶液浸渍处理TiO2,制得不同SO2-4含量的SO2-4/TiO2光催化剂.考察了光催化剂对邻硝基苯酚溶液的光催化行为.发现SO2-4/TiO2的光催化活性高于TiO2的光催化活性,浸渍液中H2SO4的浓度和焙烧温度对SO2-4/TiO2的催化活性有一定的影响,最佳浸渍H2SO4浓度为0.5 mol·L-1,最佳焙烧温度为500℃.  相似文献

This research work presents the efficiency of the TiO2 and Ag–TiO2 thin films prepared by the sol–gel method and coated onto the surface of 304 stainless steel sheets used in the photocatalytic nitrate reduction processes. The Ag–TiO2 thin films had the weight by weight (w/w) ratio of Ag+/TiO2 of 0.1% as Ag atom. The XRD results showed that the crystalline phase structure of TiO2 on the Ag–TiO2 thin films was anatase. The optical band gaps of the TiO2 and 0.1% Ag–TiO2 thin films were respectively 3.27 and 2.70 eV, while the surface of the prepared catalysts was hydrophobic with the respective average water contact angles of 94.8° and 118.5° for the TiO2 and 0.1% Ag–TiO2 thin films. The net efficiencies of photocatalytic nitrate reduction of TiO2 and 0.1% Ag–TiO2 were 41.4% and 70.0%, respectively. The loading of Ag only influenced the nitrate removal efficiency without affecting the stoichiometric ratio of formate to nitrate. The net stoichiometric ratio of formate to nitrate of all experiments was 2.8:1.0, which is close to the stoichiometric ratio of 2.5:1.0 of the nitrate reduction to nitrite and then to nitrogen gas.  相似文献

Ni L- and Ti L-edge as well as Ti K-edge X-ray absorption experiments for TiO2 thin films and Ni-doped TiO2 thin films coated on glass plates were performed using synchrotron radiation to investigate the structures around Ni and Ti ions in the films. The obtained spectra were compared with the results of theoretical calculations. It has consequently been found that the spectral features were affected by a change in the oxidizing form of Ni ions due to hydrogen reduction, by the charge variation and/or slight orbital splitting of Ti ions, and by the magnitude of the interaction between the center Ti ion and neighboring Ti ions.  相似文献
