Summary A series of metal complexes with new tridentate Schiff base derived from salicylaldehyde and furfuraldehyde with o-phenyldiamine have been prepared and characterised by physical and chemical methods. Electronic spectra, room temperature magnetic moment values, e.p.r. and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies suggest an octahedral geometry for all the complexes, where low molar conductance values are in accord with their non-electrolytic nature. The thermal stability of the complexes is discussed and the ligand-to-metal bonding modes discussed.  相似文献

The stability constants of ZnII, CuII, NiII and CoII with different tripodal ligands, 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazaoctxyl)benzene (L1), 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazanonxyl)benzene (L2) and 1,3,5-tris[3-(2-pyridyl)-2-azapropyl]benzene (L3) have been studied at 25 °C in 0.1 mol dm–3 KNO3 aqueous solution using potentiometric titrations. During the titrations, the ligand concentrations were kept constant at 1 × 10–3 mol dm–3, while 1:1 and 1:3 metal:ligand ratios were used for each system. The results indicated that, in the 1:1 metal:ligand ratio, the binding of MII to the ligand gives rise to several 1:1 complexes differing in their degree of protonation whereas in the 3:1 ratio, polynuclear complexes are formed. Additionally, the ternary complexes of the tripod ligands, with CuII-5-substituted-1, 10-phenanthroline have been investigated and the results show that linear free energy relationship exists in such ternary systems.  相似文献

Summary Manganese(II), iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes of a new multidentate oxygen-nitrogen donor, bis(N-salicylidene)-2,3-dihydrazino-1,4-quinoxaline (H2BSDHQ) were prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, conductance, thermal, spectral and magnetic data. H2BSDHQ deprotonates to give a dibasic ONNO donor set in a trivalent iron(III) complex, which binds to the divalent metal ions in a bis-tridentate fashion, using two monobasic ONN donor sets, and resulting in polymeric complexes. Octahedral geometries are proposed for all these complexes, and preliminary studies show that they possess potential antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

A series of transition metal complexes of the type [M(ah)3](ClO4)2 (16) [M = MnII, FeII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII, ah = acetylhydrazine] have been prepared by the reaction of M(ClO4)2 · 6H2O with acetylhydrazine formed in situ by the reaction of hydrazine hydrate and acetylsalicylic acid methyl ester. The chelating behaviour of acetylhydrazine and overall geometry of these complexes have been spectroscopically investigated by means of FT-IR, 1H-n.m.r. and electronic spectral techniques, as well as by elemental analysis data, molar conductance values and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Single X-ray structure determination of complex (4) revealed three acetylhydrazine ligands coordinated to nickel ion in a bidentate manner maintaining an octahedral environment. In all other complexes too, an octahedral geometry has been proposed on the basis of results obtained by various physico-chemical studies.  相似文献

2-(o-Hydroxyphenyl)-1,8-naphthyridine (HN), 2-(4-hydroxy-6-methylpyran-2-one-3-yl)-1,8-naphthyridine (HMPN) and 2-(benzimidazol-2-yl)-1,8-naphthyridine(BN) react with acetates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) to yield metal ion complexes of definite composition. These compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermal studies, IR, UV-visible, NMR and mass spectral investigations. The complexes are found to have the formulae [M(HN)2(H2O)2], [M(HMPN)2(H2O)2] and [M(BN)2(OAc)2], respectively.  相似文献

The reaction of cefalexine anions (Cpx?) with Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ ions in aqueous solution at 20°C and ionic strength 0.1 was studied by pH-metry. In weakly alkaline medium, unstable complexes MCpx+ and M(OH)Cpx are formed, in which Cpx? behaves as a monodentate lidand coordinated through the amino group.  相似文献

Summary The following coordination compounds derived from 2-guanidinobenzimidazole (2GB) (1); [Ni(2GB)2]Cl2· H2O, (2); [Ni(2GB)2]Br2·3H2O, (3); [Ni(2GB)2-(NO3)2, (4); [Ni(2GB)2](OAc)2, (5); [Cu(2GB)Cl2], (6); [Cu(2GB)Br2], (7); [Cu(2GB)2]Br2·2H2O, (8); [Cu(2GB)2](NO3)2·H2O, (9); [Cu(2GB)2](OAc)2· H2O, (10); [Zn(2GB)Cl2]·H2O, (11); [Zn(2GB)Br2]·H2O, (12); [Co(2GB)Cl2(H2O)2]·5H2O, (13); [Co-(2GB)2Cl2]·3H2O, (14); [Co(2GB)2(H2O)2](NO3)2· 4H2O, (15); and [Co(2GB)2(H2O)2](OAc)2, (16) have been synthesized and characterized by i.r. and electronic spectroscopy. In addition (6)–(10) were analysed by e.p.r. The X-ray diffraction structure of compound (4) was obtained. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, C2/c (a = 22.511(7), b = 6.735(6) and c= 15.345(5)Å, =115.31(3)°, Z = 4, final R = 0.0360 and R w = 0.0388 for 1167 observed independent reflections). The nickel(II) atom coordinates two ligands in a square-planar geometry through the imidazolic N(3) and the guanidino N(12).The probable ligand isomers involved in the coordination were determined by theoretical calculations, and the possible structures of the coordination compounds were investigated in order to verify that the experimentally proposed structures were stable. Two different types of coordination compounds were found. One, where the ligand is chelating through the imidazolic N(3) and the guanidino N(12), which is the case for most of the complexes [(2)–(13)]. With only one ligand in the coordination sphere, the structure was either tetrahedral (copper and zinc chloride and bromide complexes) or octahedral (cobalt). With two chelating 2GB units a square-planar geometry was stabilized [(2)–(5) and (8)–(10)]. The second type of coordination behaviour was observed in the cobalt compounds [(14)–(16)]. Here the ligand coordinates monodentate through the imidazolic N(3); the structure is tetrahedral.  相似文献

Summary The 4-hydroxyphenylthiocarboxyhydrazide (Hoth) ligand has been characterized by i.r.,1H and13C spectral studies. Its metal complexes with FeII, CoII,III, NiII, CuII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility. Mössbauer, visible, e.s.r., i.r.,1H and13C n.m.r. spectral studies. The bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes are discussed. Complexes of CrIII, MnII, FeIII, CoII, NiII and CuII containing a macrocyclic pentadentate nitrogen–sulphur donor ligand have been prepared via reaction of a pentadentate ligand (N3S2) with transition metal ions. The N3S2 ligand was prepared by [1 + 1] condensation of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with 1,2-di(o-aminophenylthio(ethane. The structures of the complexes have been elucidated by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, i.r., electronic and e.p.r. spectral studies. A thiosemicarbazone derivative of the Vitamin K3 has been synthesized. Five transition metal complexes of the thiosemicarbazone have been prepared and characterized by i.r., u.v.–vis., molar conductance and thermal analyses. All of the complexes possess strong inhibitory action against G(+) Staphylococcus aureus, G(–) Hay bacillus, and G(–) Eschericha coli. The antibacterial activities of the complexes are stronger than those of the thiosemicarbazone itself.  相似文献

Acetylsalicylhydroxamic acid (AcSHA) was prepared and characterized. Its pKa value was determined as 7.78. Solid metal complexes of AcSHA were also prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electronic and i.r. spectroscopies, and by magnetic moment measurements. The shift of both hydroxamic and acetyl carbonyl vibrations to lower frequencies clearly indicates that AcSHA is bonded through oxygen atoms to the metal ions as a tridentate ligand. On the basis of the experimental data, structures for the complexes are purposed.  相似文献

The self-assembly of unsymmetrical metal ligands from simpler components circumvents complex synthetic approaches. We show herein how a recently developed three-component assembly to create tripicolylamine-like ligands can be extended to the use of azides rather than pyridines. Substituent effects, metal dependence, and reversibility of the assembly are explored. Further, we show that the extent of assembly directly correlates with the differential binding of the templating metals between dipicolylamine-like and tripicolyamine-like ligands.  相似文献

Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 2-thiouracil and its arylazo derivatives were prepared. The elemental analysis suggest a range of 11, 21 and 13 stoichiometries. A novel series of 16-membered binuclear complexes of octaazatetraimine ligand, [M = MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII; X = Cl or NO3] have been synthesized by metal template condensation reactions of o-phenylenediamine with N,N′-diacetylhydrazine in 1:1:1 molar ratio in methanol. The proposed stoichiometry and the bonding of the macrocyclic moiety to metal ions along with the overall stereochemistry have been derived from the results of elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity data and the spectral data revealed from FT-IR, , ESI mass, UV–visible studies. An octahedral geometry has been envisaged for MnII, CoII, and NiII complexes while a slight distortion in octahedral geometry has been noticed for CuII complexes. The low conductivity data of all the complexes suggest their non-ionic nature.  相似文献
