The dynamics of vinylidene-acetylene isomerization has been studied quantum mechanically, based on a new ab initio calculated potential energy surface (PES). The grid underlying the PES and the dynamic treatment rest on planar 4-atom Jacobi-like coordinates. Three degrees of freedom, the C-C bond length and the two Jacobi-like angles are treated explicitly, while the two other coordinates relating to the C-H bond lengths have been optimized in the ab initio treatment. The energies of the resulting 3D grid have been computed with the CCSD(T) method, using a cc-pVTZ basis set, while selected stationary points have been characterized at a higher level of theory. The subsequent dynamic treatment reproduces very satisfactorily the experimental photodetachment spectrum of Lineberger and coworkers. Several porphyrin dimers have been newly designed and synthesized to construct assemblies with 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) as a bidentate binding ligand. Semi empirical (AM1) and ab initio calculations have been used to study the assemblies generated by the organization of dimers and DABCO, including the computation of 1H NMR complexation-induced chemical shifts using the ab initio/GIAO methodology. The diagnostic capacity of the theoretical method has been applied to explain experimental results and geometrical features of the complexes.  相似文献

The possibility of calculating accurate ab initio bond angles is examined using a sample of 29 molecules (35 independent angles) containing only first row atoms and whose equilibrium structures are known. Three different correlated methods are compared: MP2, CCSD(T), and DFT, using the hybrid functional B3LYP. The convergence of Dunning's correlation consistent polarized valence basis sets, cc-pVnZ is also studied. It is found that the CCSD(T) method is consistently the most accurate; the DFT/B3LYP being slightly less reliable than MP2. It is shown that when convergence of the basis set is achieved (which is dependent on the kind of bonding) and when the effect of diffuse functions on electronegative atoms is taken into account, a high accuracy may be obtained: 0.03° for the median of absolute deviations or 0.07° for the mean absolute deviation. It does not exclude the possibility that the ab initio method may fail in some particular case, for instance when a large amplitude motion is involved. The MP2/cc-pVQZ method gives a mean absolute deviation of 0.22° to be compared with the 0.07° of the CCSD(T) method. To obtain these results, it was necessary to reanalyze the structure of a few molecules, particularly, a new and more accurate structure is proposed for nitroxyl, HNO and hydrogen peroxide, H2O2.  相似文献

Ab initio calculations have been performed on benzooxirene, the corresponding oxo carbene (“ketocarbene”), and the transition state linking the two. At the highest level used, QCISD(T)/6-31G*//MP2(FULL)/6-1G* with MP2(FULL)/ 6-31G* zero point energy corrections, the relative energies of the oxirene, the transition state and the carbene are 0, 24.6, and −17.8 kJ mol−1. Correlation energy effects are very important in this system: at the QCISD(T) level the oxirene lies above the carbene, as at the MP4 and HF levels, but at the MP2 level the ordering is reversed. Benzooxirene is probably slightly nonplanar: the HF/6-31G* geometry is C2v but the MP2(Fermi contact)/6-31G* geometry is Cs with a 6-/3-ring coplanarity deviation of about 6.9 °, although in the MP2(FULL)/6-31G* geometry this is reduced to about 3.1 °.  相似文献

The equilibrium geometrical structures of small AlmFen clusters have been determined through ab initio calculation of the cluster total energy at the UB3LYP/Lanl2dz level. For dimers of iron and aluminum, the dissociation energies, the equilibrium atomic distances, and the vibrational frequencies were calculated. The agreement between calculations and experiments is reasonable. The ground stable geometrical structures of Fe4, FeAl3, Fe3Al and Fe2Al2 clusters favor three-dimension configurations, but Al4 tetramers are planar structures. The Al-rich tetramers are more stable than the other two composition tetramers. This is different from that of bulk alloys.  相似文献

The tautomerism of formamide has been investigated by ab initio calculation using RHF/4-31G basis set. The change in some physical properties along the reaction path is presented. In the study of molecular reaction kinetics, we have calculated all the kinetic parameters according to statistical thermodynamics and transition state theory. The combination of kinetics analysis with IRC analysis has indicated that the tautomerism is concerted but the geometric changes are nonsynchronous; the lifetime of the transition state is short and the transition state is tight type; the formamide is more stable than formimidic acid; the kinetic rate constant of backward reaction is larger than that of the forward reaction in the range of temperature studied.  相似文献

Efforts to develop a database of quadratic force fields for organic molecules are described. The database is based on systematic ab initio calculations, scaled to reproduce the experimentally observed frequencies. The choice of the theoretical method, the basis sets, geometries, internal coordinates and the scaling procedure are discussed. A key point in the procedure is the automatic generation of the internal valence coordinates. This is also very advantageous for geometry optimization. The database should permit the prediction of vibrational frequencies for most organic molecules to 10–20 cm−1, together with semiquantitative intensities. The accuracy is sufficient to identify unknown compounds from a list of reasonable candidates.  相似文献

In this paper, we have investigated the chemical bond interactions between covalently functionalized zigzag (5,0) and (8,0) SWCNT–SWCNT via various covalent linkages. Side-to-side junctions connected via amide, ester and anhydride linkages were particularly studied. The geometries and energy of the forming reaction were investigated using first-principles density functional theory. Furthermore, the band structures and the total density of states (DOS) of the junctions have also been analyzed. Our results show that several promising structures could be obtained by using chemical connection strategy and particularly the junctions formed by coupling amino functionalized SWCNT and carboxylic acid functionalized SWCNT was more favorable.  相似文献

The tautomeric and conformational equilibrium of 2-nitrosophenol and 9,10-phenanthrenequinonemonooxime was studied by ab initio methods. The geometry optimizations of the structures investigated were done without any geometrical restrictions at HF/6-31G** and MP2/6-31G** levels of theory. The transition structures for tautomeric and rotameric conversions were located. To correct for electron correlation, single-point calculations were carried out up to MP4/6-311G*//MP2/6-31G* level of theory.

Ab initio calculations for 2-nitrosophenol in agreement with the available experimental data define the nitroso form as more stable. It was found that the influence of the correlation energy on the relative stabilities is smaller for the rotamers of the nitroso tautomer but substantially (4–6 kcal/mol) for the oxime forms. It was found that the barrier height of tautomerization reaction is 10.24 kcal/mol.

The structure of the 9,10-phenanthrenequinonemonooxime was studied by solid and liquid state NMR spectroscopy. Ab initio calculations in agreement with our experimental data predict that the compound exists as oxime tautomer and the syn-oxime is most stable. It was found that the solvent influence on the relative stabilities of both isomers: syn- and anti-oxime. While in chloroform solution the syn-oxime is preferred but in DMSO anti-oxime is more stable in energy.

At the MP4/6-311G*//MP2/6-31G**+ZPE level of theory the barrier of tautomerization was predicted to be 10.96 kcal/mol and the rotational barrier around the single C–O bond in the syn-oxime was found to be 7.57 kcal/mol. The rotation is facile and this explains the absence of nitroso tautomers in solution.  相似文献

The optimized molecular structures of seven conformations of 2,2-difluoroglycine have been obtained from ab initio calculations. For conformers in which the lone pair of electrons on the nitrogen are antiperiplanar to one of the C–F bonds, that C–F bond is longer than the other C–F bond, which is synperiplanar to the lone pair of electrons. Conformers which have these features are the most stable conformers of those examined. This observation is explained in terms of an anomeric effect of the 1p(N)→σ*(C–F). At the MP2/6-31G* level of calculation, conformers IV and V are 21.5 and 18.7 kJ/mol, respectively, more stable than the least stable conformer, VI, which does not exhibit an anomeric effect. Conformer VII was found to be exceptionally stable, in addition to an anomeric effect, this conformer also exhibits features of a FH–O hydrogen bond.  相似文献

Ab initio caculations with RHF/6-31G and MP2/6-31G have been used to study the isomerization of 3-amino-2-pyridone in gas-phase and in water. The results obtained show that 3-amino-2-pyridone is isomerized into 3-amino-2-hydroxy pyridine via a four-center cyclic transition state in the gas-phase, and via a six-center cyclic transition state in water. The activation energies of this reaction are 226.3336(RHF/6-31G) and 171.2269(MP2/6-31G) in gas-phase, and 81.6398(RHF/6-31G) and 59.8668(MP2/6-31G) kJ mol−1 under the condition of a single water molecule as the catalyst, respectively.  相似文献

Peracetylated d-glucopyranose has a high solubility in CO2 and can be a promising phase-change physical solvent or absorbent for CO2, as reported recently. However, peracetylated d-glucopyranose is unstable under acidic atmospheres, especially in sulfur-containing waste gases, and the possibly major decomposition products are 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-d-glucopyranose, 1-thiol-d-glucopyranose tetraacetate, and 1-mercaptoethyl-d-glucopyranose tetraacetate. Therefore, it is highly interesting to investigate the interaction between CO2 and these three compounds using ab initio calculations, including geometry optimizations with HF/3-21G, B3LYP/6-31+G** and single-point energy calibration with MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ. The results indicate that the electrostatic interactions between the substrates and CO2 are mainly influenced by the interaction distance and the numbers of negative charge donors or the interacting pairs involved in the complex. It is furthermore found that ΔE increases significantly if S and O atoms could interact with CO2 simultaneously. The binding energy is irrelevant if one considers the chemical environment of the O atom (i.e. OAc, OE or OS) or the S atom (i.e. SEt or SH), and the electronegativity difference between the S and O atoms. The three substrates studied are still excellent CO2-philes, although their average ΔE (–20 kJ/mol) is slightly lower than that of peracetylated d-glucose (–22 kJ/mol), which has one more O atom that can interact with CO2. Therefore, the applications of carbohydrates can be expanded to include adsorbents for CO2, SO2 or both, and the functional groups attached to the carbohydrate can vary from those to the acetyl groups.  相似文献

We present a theoretical calculation of trinem antibiotic sanfetrinem GV104326 and its cis-isomer of proton in β-lactam ring and methoxy inversion isomer. Ab initio Hartree Fock method is employed to calculate the geometry optimization; optimized parameters, bond lengths, bond angles and dihedral angles of isomers. We also calculated the vibrational frequencies, the IR intensities, the Raman activities and the thermochemical parameters. Mulliken population analysis is used to compare bond strength of an active site. These results are compared with available experimental data and other related theoretical calculations. The calculated IR spectra are in good agreement with experiments. Calculated geometrical and conformational structures of sanfetrinem and its isomers support the previous study of the geometrical requirements for the antibacterial activities. The significance of the rotational conformation of the carboxyl group to chemical reactivities is discussed.  相似文献

The reaction of singlet oxygen with ethylene has been studied at the ab initio level with both HF/3-21G and HF/6-31G basis sets, fully optimizing the geometries of the critical points. The transition state leading to the intermediate peroxirane from the initial reactants is found,Iocated at 81.71 kJ/mol above the dissociation limit. The vibrational analysis is done with two basis sets. From the results it can be seen that the frequencies have not been made an improvement obviously with augmented 6-31G compared to 3-21G basis; it follows that main reason for too high HF/3-21G frequency could mainly be the vibrational anharmonicity. The eigenvector corresponding to the single imaginary vibrational frequency is dominated by the larger O-O distance. The finding of the transition state confirms that the peroxirane minimum can be reachable passing through a peroxirane-like saddle point. In addition , the mechanisms of the reaction forming oxirane are discussed as well.  相似文献

The molecular structure of the first three members of the fluorocyanopolyynes was studied by ab initio Hartree-Fock calculations with a polarized double zeta basis set and at MP2 level with the same basis set. Alternating triple and single bonds were found; a theoretical estimate of rotational constants and dipole moments was performed and a comparison with the available experimental data was made. Using unrestricted Hartree–Fock–Roothaan approximation and density functional theory on 6‐31G* basis, ab initio calculation cluster C8H12 has been carried out. It was shown as a result of calculations that a ground state for the conformation given is a septet state. The aromaticity of planar and highly symmetric three-dimensional hydrogen clusters were evaluated with the complete basis set ab initio computational method. The energy of formation of the hydrogen clusters from the hydrogen molecule and hydrogen molecular ions were used in comparison to their relative stabilities. The aromaticity of planar hydrogen clusters, as well as hydrogen clusters in the three dimensions, arranged as highly symmetric regular polyhedra (Plato's polyhedras), were discussed with respect to the Hückel and Möbius aromatic rules.  相似文献
