We study the influence of the residual stresses on the size and character of the variations in the strain intensity and moment intensity coefficients in a closed cylindrical shell welded together from two parts and under the action of axisymmetric loads. In the paper we have obtained ergodic theorems for walks generated by sums of stationarily connected random variables and two inhibitory boundaries. We have found representations for the steady-state distributions, permitting us to obtain in the case of independent summands a whole series of useful formulas. Zusammenfassung Es wird der Spannungszustand in einer elastischen Kugel untersucht, die im Zentrum einen münzenförmigen Riss mit konstanter Oberflächentemperatur besitzt, während die sphärische Oberfläche auf der Temperatur null gehalten wird. Dabei wird angenommen, dass an der Oberfläche a) die Schubspannung und die radiale Verschiebung, b) die Normalspannung und die Schubspannung null sind.

We have considered the three-dimensional problem of harmonic loading of a circular crack in an elastic composite consisting of two dissimilar half-spaces under sliding contact on the surface of their bonding. The defect is situated in one of the half-spaces perpendicularly to the interface of materials. Using the representations of solutions in the form of Helmholtz potentials, we have reduced the problem to a boundary integral equation for the function of dynamic defect opening. Based on the numerical solution of this equation, we have obtained the frequency dependences of mode I stress intensity factor near the crack for different relations between the elastic moduli of components of the composite and the depths of crack location with respect to the interface.  相似文献

The primary obstacle preventing the analytical determination of physically sensible stresses at a crack tip is the presence of a mathematical singularity there. This singularity is best known in its elastic form; however it persists even in elasto-plastic crack-tip stresses. To overcome the difficulty we adopt the following strategy: we attempt to capture initial elastic stresses experimentally, than track subsequent elasto-plastic stress distributions analytically.We infer a finite stress at a crack tip from the experimental behaviour of cracked specimens at fracture when the specimens are made of a truly brittle material. Given a size-independent result, we argue that the crack-tip stress at fracture must equal the ultimate stress for such a material; thus dividing by the applied stress at the same point gives a measure of the stress concentration factor, KT. The approach is checked for size independence and against hole configurations with known theoretical, yet physically reasonable, KT. Then the effective experimental KT are taken as inputs for the second phase of the study in which we model the crack as being a smooth notch having the same stress concentration factor as found experimentally. In this way our configuration initially shares the same stresses at the crack tip as we inferred physically. Next we track effects of incremental plastic flow on a set of finite element grids. Satisfactory resolution in return for modest computational effort is obtained by employing a substructuring method. The accuracy in both the elastic and the elasto-plastic regime is checked against trial problems with exact solutions. Thereafter, physically interpretable stress distributions ahead of the crack are determined for a range of materials and for varying load levels.  相似文献

We consider a class of solutions to the 2D Navier-Stokes equations in a strip such that the longitudinal component of velocity is a linear function of the longitudinal coordinate while the transversal component and the pressure do not depend on this coordinate. One of the strip boundaries is free and the other boundary can be a solid wall or free too. We formulate conditions for a global solvability in time of corresponding initial boundary value problems, describe their asymptotic properties, give examples of exact solutions, study blowing up solutions in the case when the both strip boundaries are free.  相似文献

We analyze a free boundary value problem that describes an equilibrium state of a two-layer elastic body with a crack. The existence of a solution is proved. We present results of an investigation of the development of a transverse shear crack in a composite material with linearly viscoelastic components under external shear load. The solution is divided into the following two main stages: determination of the time dependence of the crack tip opening displacement and determination of the crack-growth kinetics as a result of the solution of integral equations. In the first stage, we use the solution of the corresponding elastic problem of determination of the crack opening displacement and the problem of determination of the effective moduli of the composite reinforced with unidirectional discrete fibers. Using the theoretically proved principle of elasto-viscoelastic analogy and the method of Laplace inverse transformation, we obtain a solution in a time domain. In the second stage, using the criterion of critical crack opening displacement for a transverse shear crack and an equation for the viscoelastic crack opening displacement of this crack, we construct an equation of crack growth. We present results of the numerical solution, which illustrate the influence of relations between the relaxation parameters of the materials of the components on the durability of the body with a crack.  相似文献

An axisymmetric steady-state thermoelastic problem of an infinite isotropic medium containing an annular crack is considered. The faces of the crack are exposed to prescribed temperature distribution. The normal components of stress and displacement on the crack plane and the stress-intensity factors at the boundaries of the crack are expressed in power series in terms of the ratio between the radii of the inner and outer boundaries. We consider the Dirichlet Laplacian Δ in a family of bounded domains {−a < x < b, 0 < y < εh(x)}. The main assumption is that x = 0 is the only point of global maximum of the positive, continuous function h(x). We find the two-term asymptotics in ε → 0 of the eigenvalues and the one-term asymptotics of the corresponding eigenfunctions. The asymptotic formulas obtained involve the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of an auxiliary ODE on ℝ that depends on the behavior of h(x) as x → 0.
